  1. Oh my, I know exactly what you mean. Photoshop crashed on me while I was painting snowflakes the other night and I literally screamed "nooo!" Thankfully I saved not too far back.

Saving often is always a good habit to get into. I usually find myself hitting the save hot key every time I make something and think to myself "that looks good."

  2. I think the little background swirl turned out great. Not only does it hold everything together, but it gives the whole piece a sense of motion to it. It kind of matches the swirl of her tail, and makes me think that she's just lifted all those objects up in a bit sweeping motion.

  3. This is most excellent. I think its the little things that I like best about the colored version: the fanciful pattern in the floor boards, the little smudges everywhere and the cute little pattern on her bandana-neckerchief thing. :)

  4. Commando is a type of elite light infantry or special forces, specializing in attacking conventional military targets, as opposed to other special forces which specialize in counter-terrorism, reconnaissance or sabotage. The term commando stems from the Afrikaans word "Kommando," which translates roughly to "Mobile Infantry Regiment." Originally by horseback, since as early as 1652, where it was used to describe bands of militia in the Dutch Cape Colony.

"Going Commando," is likely attributed to the US Vietnam war era, starting on college campuses where it was a reference to the elite military soldiers who were supposedly "always ready." It didn't enter popular culture until the mid 1990s thanks to the Seinfeld episode "The Chinese Woman," in 1994, and the Friends episode "The One Where No One's Ready," in 1996.
