  1. I happen to make a fair amount of side income selling toys from the 30s-80s, if I hear of any Berry Happy Homes I will definitely pass on the word!

Puppy Surprise was my FAVORITE TOY EVER when I was a kid. I came across one in an auction a couple years ago without its puppies and had to explain the concept to my husband. The faces he made were GREAT, but he did end up buying it for me. I keep memory cards in it.

    Glad to have you!

"That's enough, Dellios," a tall, dark griffin growled, chasing his son out of their home and onto the balcony. "I don't care if you're an 'adult', if you keep acting like a damn fledgling I'm going to treat you like one."

"Whatever," Del rolled his eyes, curling his claws around the rocky edge of the balcony, shuffling his wings and shifting his legs in preparation for takeoff.

"If you don't like it you can take that attitude and find a new place to live!" Del's father shouted, scraping his claws against the floor in anger.

"Maybe I will," Del muttered, curling up on his hind legs and leaping over the balcony's edge, his wings out just long enough to pull away from the cliff's edge, then he snapped them in against his sides, plumetting towards the canyon floor like a bullet, the openings and ledges of neighboring homes carved out of the canyon wall flying by him in a blur. Feet from the bottom he extended his wings and turned a hard 90 degrees. He reached down and scratched a claw against the hardpacked dirt, growling under his breath.

Del just lost another job. His third in as many months. Every time this happened his father threw a fit, made his life miserable for a few days, Del would take off, Mom would calm Dad down, and once Del turned up again he'd find a new job. Which, of course, he'd lose the next time he got the wandering urge. He just wanted to see the world. Feel the wind combing through his feathers. And most importantly, get away from his stifling family for a little while.

He caught an updraft, letting the wind carry him in a widening spiral up towards the clouds as the southern edge of Talonopolis faded from his sight. He shifted his flight south, hoping to find a something to take his mind off the fight he'd just had with his father.

  3. Note: Threads marked 'finished' may or may not be closed storywise, but my character's part has ended.

  4. I drew this! Thank you for all the compliments, guys. I really didn't expect people to love it as much as they do, but I've seen it pop up so many places. I don't usually take credit for things I've drawn, I just upload them to the booru or one of the chans and then see what happens, but it's nice to openly bask in attention sometimes :)

  5. Seas and oceans are horrifying, we are not welcome there at all.

Well that I have to disagree with! I've always lived on the ocean, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. I could swim before I could walk, and there's nothing more relaxing to me than swimming and playing in the ocean. There's some scary stuff in there, for sure (my mother in law has some jellyfish scars to attest to that), but have you ever met an alligator snapping turtle? Or grabbed onto a tree that has been submerged in fresh water for ages? Feels like dead flesh, man. Yuck.

Plus, whales are pretty much the coolest thing ever.

  6. [ Pony Related Character ]

    Name: Sealight

    Gender: female

    Age: older adult mare

    Species: pegasus

    Pelt Color: sand-brown

Mane/Tail Color & Style: turquoise, but starting to go grey in places. silky and flowing, with a thick forelock that hangs to one side or another, and a short tail.

    Eye Color: also turquoise

    Cutie Mark: Seashell

Physique: A little on the bulky side, but muscular

Residence: Recently relocated to Ponyville, and then further north to the Nimbusgait Lakes, though she still considers herself a resident of Ponyville largely because of her frequent trips downriver to shop for supplies there.

Occupation: Proprietor of the Nimbusgait Inn

Motivation: Trying to get a new lease on life.

Likes: Any flowing body of water, especially the ocean, and everything in them. The moon, because of it's pull on the tides. Rainy days, stories from travellers, flying on windy days, especially with seabirds.

Dislikes: Being too far from the water, hot, dry weather, ponies who don't take their responsibilities seriously.

Character Summary: Sealight grew up on the seashore, and became keeper of the lighthouse at the point of Seasaddle Bay (so long as no one minds me just plopping one there). She took her job very seriously and was diligent not just about maintaining the light, but maintaining the traditions. She never flew to the top, but always walked up the tall, spiral staircase the way the original Earth Pony keepers did, which gave her the bulky muscles she has. She often greeted travellers between the mainland and the island, even guiding the ferry using her keen sense of direction during rough weather when the light couldn't pierce the fog or rain. She often opened her home to any ponies or creatures passing through, and enjoys having houseguests. The years of travelling the stairs has taken its toll on her knees, and her worst fear was finding herself unable to climb as night fell and the lamp needed to be lit, so she passed on her job to a new pony. Though she misses the ocean, she has found a new home on the shores of the Nimbusgait Lakes, close to Ponyville, and a new occupation in the Nimbusgait Inn.

  7. A drawing teacher once told me: "let your eyes go cross for a moment to see everything blurry. It makes all the small details vanish and the main shapes stand out. Draw those, and then once you have that down, go back and start picking out the details."

    That's honestly really great advice.

The best way to learn is breaking things down into shapes. Simplify it and add the details later. When I'm drawing I tend to make a giant mess, then slowly refine it down to something presentable.

But then again, I learned to draw from Lion King coloring books, so you may or may not want to listen to my advice.

  8. I'm just going to go ahead and make my first post here.

I hadn't drawn fanart, or written fanfiction (except maybe one epic Batman tale that I'll never finish....) in years, and then these confounded ponies come trotting along. I have a file of silly paragraphs I wrote to get started again, but the only major thing I've completed is Memorial (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Bop8tQwUHpjJr5LGN3NEbPcSmLL7HZhfgzqMyxHMzXY/edit?hl=en#).

I'd love to read anything anyone throws my way for opinions/editing. I'm a bit of a grammar stickler, and I can be brutally honest if that's what somepony wants!

I'm just glad to be part of such a creative, talented group of fans.
