Actually there's a lot I need to see. Like the Jaws films (or at least the first one), a good number of older films such as Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, etc. My Westerns are also pitifully low and I'm not even entirely sure where to start with that genre. Probably The Man With No Name trilogy... Mafia films as well. Haven't seen Scarface or the Godfather Trilogy.

Though to be honest, I didn't even see Star Wars until I was about 16. I didn't really watch a lot of movies when I was a kid. So yeah, a lot of catching up to do on my film knowledge.

Any pony else anticipating a new song with this episode? Season one normally had songs for episode-long events like WWU and the GGG so I would expect them to do so for Nightmare Night too. Also we have yet get a song this season when already had 3 by this point in season one. I think this is on purpose, the creators are going big with everything this season as seen with "Return to harmony" and "Lesson Zero", so unlike S1 where we didn't get a big musical number until ep. 11 I expect them to blow us a way with the first song of the season. Hopefully it's a catchy macabre tune featuring the mane 6, Spike, and Luna( just want to hear the princesses sing for once).

I'm really hoping for a song already for season two. It's understandable why Eps. 3 didn't have one and Eps. 4 looks to be shaping up to be a big important episode. So I'm hoping for a nice musical number that will be remixed over and over by the fandom. Especially if Luna sings in it.

I for one can't wait for this show. Can anyone tell me how soon the episode comes online after it airs. Because I'm at a friend's house from today till Sunday night and would like to watch it off my laptop or I-pod touch if at all possible.

I usually find that there's a low quality version up an hour after the episode. If you wait another hour or two a nice HD version will be up by noon.

He could see her as "a rare gem" in an strange sort of way as part of his dragon instinct to desire and collect beautiful and exquisite objects (and hoard them). Because rarity is presented as striking among ponies and own love of gems, he could see her as a living rare gem like object himself even if he doesn't really understand the reason for his crush/desire yet.

I've heard this theory before. I seem to recall it ending in a rather macabre way as well...

Spike's a little kid with a crush on the pony who acts the most feminine out of everyone he spends time with. It's really not all that surprising. You'll see a lot of little crushes that really mean nothing in kids shows everywhere; it's a fairly common trope.

The costumes are really cool. Rainbow Dash as a Shadowbolt is a really nice nod to see. I'm still wanting to see the Rarity and Fluttershy costumes... but if they're not in the episode I suppose it's up to the fans to create the costumes! *hinthint*

Yeah, Amy and Rory have been the most interesting companions since Rose first appeared. Captain Jack is alright but I think he works best in one-shot appearances. Too much of him and he could quickly become obnoxious and annoying. I'm looking at you River Song.

Though I heard Amy and Rory were returning for the next series, they just wouldn't be there full time. I think I recall Karen Gillian at least confirming at SDCC she would be back for some of the series. And we can't have Amy without Rory. I imagine they'll appear for some episodes before toddling off to a boring Earth life like the rest of us live. It's probably best for some new companions to appear anyway; if the companion stays on too long then she could become stale and boring. I'm looking at you Rose Tyler.

Its it just me or has the past 2 series been incredibly.......bad. Every signal episode has some out of place 'love' scene thats just painful to watch. The into at the start is annoying and its just feels less doctor who-ey (that's a word now). I've been watching it since Christopher Eccleston (9th) and with these new episodes i don't get the same feeling (You know the one) anymore.

I'm assuming you mean the past two series with the 11th Doctor (series 5 and 6). I actually enjoy Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor, he's very fun without being as serious as David Tennant's Doctor. The problem is the new head writer, Steven Moffat. He keeps overusing silly nonsensical 'timey-wimey' resolutions to every plot; he plays loose with the continuity and he writes the Doctor as someone who doesn't take anything seriously. Fun is good as long as it's balanced with some serious moments. He did good on one off episodes from before (Blink was fantastic) but it seems when he's in charge of the whole operation Moffat gets a little crazy. Also too much River Song.

I'm just disappointed that after the Christmas Special we're not getting any more Dr. Who until next fall.

Odd. I just rewatched the episode yesterday and was actually more emotionally involved with the characters than the first time watching it. Maybe I couldn't empathize with Twilight while she was crazy grinning all over the place but afterward with her and Princess Celestia? My eyes were watering up man. All of her friends rushing to help her made me feel all gooey inside. So yeah, no cringing from me. Just laughs and manly d'aaaws.

I like to think Big Mac's now the representative of all the bronies who collect the show's toys, though I doubt the show's writers intended that. Considering these scripts were probably hammered out... what? A year ago? I don't think there's any intended symbolism.

Though it would be freakin' hilarious if Big Mac pops up with Mr. Smartypants later in the season.

I'll be honest, I really didn't like the CMC when I first saw their episodes. I pretty much yawned my way through saying, "Get back to the Mane 6!" After subsequent rewatchings they grew on me though. They're far more tolerable than a lot of other 'young siblings' characters from other cartoons. Plus their 80s rock opera thing was brilliant fun.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to this episode. Can't wait to see what sort of cutie marks Apple Bloom might possibly get.

"Luna shows up at the Nightmare Night, macabre party to change her bad pony image."

Hmm, macabre isn't usually what I associate with childrens' shows. This will be interesting to see.

Yep, Darth Luna's episode is basically confirmed. Everyone's pretty excited about it, can't wait to see how they write Luna's character.

You know, it's pretty much impossible to hide from spoilers any more. EqD just posts them right out in the open and fans everywhere talk about them. Granted, I wasn't really in the fandom last year or anything (I only first saw MLP at the end of May) so maybe it's always been like this. *shrugs*

Isn't this just a fan animation of a banner Hub released showing off Hub's future billboard? I hardly think there's any 'secret references' in it.

The animation wasn't bad and I appreciated how much they tried to be professional with the models. There was some noticeable jarring moments, but I can't fault them too much. It's not like they're getting paid.

But my alicorn that voice acting. I couldn't finish the short it was so bad. Celestia just drones in the most grating voice possible and Luna... well Luna isn't too bad actually. It's just Celestia. I think it's Trollestia just messing with us myself. @_@

Ack, I can't get the second pack of pony icons to work. My computer keeps rejecting them as icons even though they're pretty clearly .ico files. Is there some extra step I'm missing or something?

Still just a rumor, but it does increase the legitimacy of the above images.

I'm quite pleased with this rumor.

More holiday episodes is exactly what I wanted, and a Halloween episode is brilliant for Luna!

My family has the Netflix streaming plan, which suits us just fine. They just added the MST3K Gamera series so I've been enjoying that lately.
