I really want to see a kelpie villain.

Three main names:

Ghostly Hamburger-my main name everywhere. It started with someone on Neopets giving me the username "happy_hamburger". Then, I went to a Danny Phantom messageboard and decided I needed something more "ghostly". So I became Ghostly Hamburger. It grew on me.

jinxedthingsring-my secondary name. It's a lyric from the song Behind the Sea by Panic! at the Disco. I just like the way it sounds.

featherquill-I really only use this here. It's the name of my ponysona, but I have never bothered to develop that OC.

I would love too! I wasn't sure because it was made last year, and the last reply was in October. I am a dedicated artist so any way I could contribute art would be great! Maybe an updated thread would be good, I dunno, unless there is a thread I am missing? I would be good for concept artist, vector images, I can even give a go at background even though i have never explored the area, characters/monsters, themes, you name it!

I watched a double feature last night of Monsters U and The Lone Ranger.

Monsters U is fantastic, everyone should go see it.

The Lone Ranger dragged a bit, but I really liked it, which surprised me. I was expecting cheesy, but it was just fun.

I've got a feeling she would be the director, try to control too much, there'd be a fight, and by the end of the episode they'd all be friends again.

For me, it was Panic! At the Disco's Pretty. Odd.

It's not the worst thing I've heard, but the question still remains...why do they bother?

Finally managed to have time to sit down and read through this thing. Altogether, I thought it was worth the cost. Parts of it were a little tedious to actually read as it's just stuff we know already, but it's going to prove to be a very useful tool for settling any arguments. But it does have great pictures, a lot more than the usual vectors in merchandise. The synopses are written in a style that's clearly not geared towards 5 year old girls--the language is for a much older reader, and the deeper themes of the show are touched upon. It really feels like someone in the fandom could have written these. And I'm personally a fan of the amazing cover art--if nothing else, this is a perfect prop for a Twilight cosplay.

Interesting things below:

The book starts pretty much exactly like Twilight's book in episode 1 with the brief introduction of the Elements of Harmony.

It is interesting that it refers to Luna at one point as "the younger unicorn" when she clearly has wings in the picture.

Interesting things from the meet the ponies section:

"Spike was orphaned as an egg, and his origins remain a mystery."

Rarity's concept art has a much different mane style, and also she's wearing a saddle.

"Fluttershy has a lot of fears to overcome, but one day her strength of character and enormous heart will make her a force to be reckoned with." (emphasis mine)

Concept art reveals that Pumpkin Cake was originally named Paddy Cake.

A few background ponies are given official names, mostly exactly along the lines of the blindbags. Colgate is Minuette, Doctor Whooves is "Dr. Hooves", Bon Bon is Sweetie Drops. Allie Way is there but only labeled as one of the "Bowler ponies".

Derpy is shown with the Cloudsdale ponies but not named.

Snowflake is called "Muscle pony".

Steven Magnet is the canon name.

Concept art of Nightmare Moon shows a lot of really cool designs.

A blurb from an animation director calls Sombra an underestimated villain.

Lauren had been thinking of including "Elements of Discord" in the show.

There's a picture of an Ursa Minor at one point that is for some reason bright green.

In the synopses of the episodes, the Find a Pet song is referred to as "an epic song sequence".

The "friendship lesson" for Super Speedy Cider Squeezy is indeed "I didn't learn anythin'!"

If you have the money to spend on this book, I would recommend it.

I just got this book today.

It's hardcover, styled to look like the Elements of Harmony book from the show.

The book opens with exactly the book Twilight reads in episode 1.

A foreword by Lauren, intro by Jayson Thiessen and Meghan McCarthy.

Then it goes into biographies of characters and descriptions of the places of the show, with a lot of concept art.

There's an interview with Lauren as well.

The bulk of the book is descriptions of each episode with the corresponding "friendship lesson".

There's song lyrics for every song of the show (also useful in accurately naming each song, something people can't tend to agree on)

And finally a few pages about the impact the show has had. While bronies aren't specifically mentioned, there are definite nods to the fandom.

I haven't read it fully, so I don't know anything about worldbuilding yet, but it definitely looks good.

I honestly thought Pipsqueak would be last.

Not surprised at Lyra being top, a little surprised at Rarity being so high. But Rarity is wonderful.

Mane is a parody of the defining musical of the 70s: Hair.

If I had gone into watching this with no expectations, it would have been good.

But because of the hype they built up and the idea that it's going to be just like an episode of the show, it fell way short of that.

While Tara's not going to be at Big Apple Ponycon in person, she's not completely abandoning the fandom because of Unicon.

It does suck that she had to pull out of a con, and that's probably not the only one, but this isn't exactly a sign of the end times.

I got a new computer. So I'm happy.

The only pony that I got was a toothbrush holder...Twilight has very derpy eyes on it, but it's kind of cute.

Anyone who might think Twilight becoming an alicorn "pales" to Derpy being gone totally...this reads to me as not being real.

Also WHY would anyone working on the show give that big a spoiler away?

My wall calendar ends on December 31.

By this same logic, that must be another end of the world.

I'm sad for the people who lost their jobs, and I can live without most Hostess products...

but HoHos. I don't know what I'm going to do without those.

I'll be honest, Big Apple Con would be incredibly more convenient for me than BronyCon, and there is a chance I may end up going to it.

But I just can't take a convention seriously when they charge for tickets before announcing a date or venue.

Well this settles one thing for me.

I wasn't sure if I was going to volunteer this year or just enjoy it.

Now I can't afford to not volunteer.

Remember all the hype leading up to season 2, and then how awesome that was?
