Character Summary:

Bright Idea is the daughter of two successful party planners in Canterlot. She has an older brother, Flitwick, who took over as the decorator for the multiple gatherings the family would organize. It wasn't long until they started including Bright Idea. Her natural ability to have fun and gain inspiration seemed like a perfect fit for the job.

But things never seemed to work out so perfectly for Bright Idea's parties.

They started her off with birthday parties, but they switched venues when she hired a real dragon as entertainment. It didn't go anywhere but downhill from there and eventually the family decided that she wouldn't get a cutie mark from ruining other people's parties. Distraught, the filly chose to prove to her family she could find something awesome to do with her talent. It was hard work finding approval in Canterlot, though. Especially when your big brother was so successful by the time he was a colt.

It wasn't until a trip out to Hoofington for a party, though, that any of her ideas actually worked. It seemed like the ponies found much more amusement in her antics. They played along with any amazing game she created and partook in her crafts, baked goods, drinks, and really anything else she sold. Counting up all that loose change on the way home made her realize that her ideas really were great and that even though the Canterlot ponies didn't appreciate them, other ponies did. That's when she noticed the bold exclamation mark on her flank!

She realized that although her brainstorming talent might seem unproductive, she could help out so many ponies with their own jobs. She didn't mind that she probably couldn't make a career out of it like the rest of her family, but she could use it to help her make friends and help them make money! Sometimes they would even repay her kindness, which was alright by her.

As a filly, she left her family to go live in Hoofington, an idea which her whole family supported. Bright Idea wasn't sure if that was a good thing or bad thing, but decided not to think about it. She made her way there on foot, meeting other ponies along the way and taking her time enjoying herself. As she moved from town to town, she could often make a quick few bucks by selling the things she had bought and found along the way. She was able to keep herself financially afloat through her travels by doing this. By the time she finally got to Hoofington, she was a young mare, ready to settle in one place and start sharing her ideas with everypony around her!

Personality:

Bright Idea can be a little unpredictable as far as mood goes. When she's in a good mood, she's optimistic, peppy, and exciting. Alternately, she can be sarcastic, easy to annoy, and a bit rude. At almost all times, though, she's absolutely scatterbrained. She can gain inspiration from anything around her and go into a kind of trance where she'll zone out and think of her ideas. This makes it easy for her to forget what she's doing or where she's going.

She's the kind of pony that can make friends with just about anypony, but keeps the details of her life a secret. She'll only trust a few close ponies with her innermost secrets. She doesn't have too many, but she doesn't exactly parade around and let the world know what she's thinking.

Some days, she can lock herself away in her room and stay there for hours on end, trying to brainstorm a new idea, whether that be a new plan on making money or an idea to help out a friend.

Looks pretty good, but as a tip, don't keep bumping your thread. Staff look at the applications tagged final at the bottom of the list of applications first, and re-posting in your thread just brings it back to the top of the list.

On a litte further reading though, you might want to do a -little- more clarification on what her special talent is. "Being creative" seems a bit vague, though if that's what it is, should be fine. I'd suggest narrowing it down to a bit more of a refined field, but that's probably not necessary.

Other'n that, you're probably set!
