Its a good attempt at a difficult mane cut, though you're right about her mane being too far back. Another thing you might consider is making her eyes larger, and maybe moving them further forward as well. Usually when a pony's face is in perspective like this, the far eye is right up against the edge of their face. Still, that is the nature of speed paints is it not?
