  1. Welcome to Equestria! You'll find being a man on this forum is a pretty common thing.
  2. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Cartwright Gender: Male Age: Colt Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: Brown Amber Mane/Tail Color & Style: Mane is short, straight, and spiked. Tail is straight and about ankle-length. Both are Luminous vivid orange red. Eye Color: Strong Green Cutie Mark: Plain wooden cart Physique: Long-legged, but heavily built; very strong and sturdy Residence: Cloudsdale Occupation: Cartwright Motivation: Cartwright's main goal in life is to perfect his craft and have as much fun as possible along the way. He works hard to play hard. Likes: Basketball, woodworking, dancing (even though he's really bad at it), tormenting his sister Dislikes: Cold weather, jokes about his name and profession, bugs (especially the wood-eating kind) Character Summary: Cartwright is nearly the polar opposite of his older sister, Orange Dart. In school, he was well-liked, with many friends, and a solid player in his school's basketball team (although he was never exceptional, he was reliable). He was apprenticed to a Cloudsdale cartwright at a young age, and took to it like a fish to water. He earned his Cutie Mark early, and he still likes to point this out to his sister just to irritate her. His naturally large size makes him strong and very suited to manual labor, so he specializes in sturdy work carts and carts used to transport the common pony folk. His fine carts are constructed of wood collected from the woods surrounding the Nimbusgait Lakes. When he's not working, he's almost constantly on the hunt for fun--a pick-up game of basketball with his former teammates or a crazy party in watever nightclub or tavern he can find. He's lively and energetic and thinks himself something of a "filly's colt". However, like his sister, when a situation calls for professionalism, he nails it. He just happens to be a better salespony than Dart could ever be. ------ Art will come eventually.
  3. Welcome to Equestria! We're always happy to see new artists!
  4. I saw Rango a few weeks ago because all the reviews on Fandango were either raving about it or were angry mothers who were upset that it was "too scary" or "too slow" or "too adult" for Little Precious. The angry mother reviews were what convinced me to go. I'm a bad person like that. I ended up actually loving it. The animation was beautiful, the score was fantastic, and the voice acting was seamless. My favorite character was probably the hawk. He was wonderfully animated, and I loved that his design was very realistically done, but still had a wide range of expression. The little possum gal was my second favorite; she was so creepy-cute!
  5. "Very reasonable. Ten, Damian," Dart told the raven. Damian dug out two thick, silver coins and tossed them onto the counter before stowing the coin purse back in the saddlebags. Dart retrieved the jug and tucked it snugly into the saddlebag with the coin purse. "No, no, that'll be all for today. Thank you. I'll certainly come back. 'Bye, then!" With a flick of her wings and a quick nod of her head, she turned and strolled sedately out of the shop.
  6. When Orange Dart saw the large jug, her face lit up. "Oh no, this is excellent! I usually spend a good thirty minutes arguing with the alchemist in Canterlot for something half this big! I'll take it." She turned to her raven companion. "Damian, money bag." The raven reached down into the saddlebag slung over Dart's flank and pulled out a small, jingling purse. Turning back to the alchemist, she asked, "So, how much do I owe you?"
  7. Orange Dart & Damian Orange Dart rarely ventured into Ponyville, but she'd visited enough to know that the "Erlenmeyer Apothecary" was a new addition to the town. She and her raven friend, Damian, had come to town today to see about getting some additional medical supplies, but the new apothecary was worth a quick look, at the very least. She detoured to the apothecary. The door opened easily, with a slight creak that told of years of frequent use. The smell of the chemicals invaded her nostrils, making her eyes smart. From his perch on her back, Damian croaked and fluffed up his feathers irritably. Dart glanced about, appraising the shop's stock. She saw Poison Joke cure, pesticides and poisons for various magical pests and vermin, treatments for burns inflicted by magical dragon's fire, and the usual fare of detoxifying Ayurvedics. This was very promising--a well-stocked alchemist's shop in Ponyville would save Dart the time and trouble of traveling all the way to Canterlot for the tinctures, ointments, and other substances necessary for treating all the bizarre injuries and illnesses presented to her at her rehabilitation sanctuary. There was one particular compound that was absolutely invaluable, and if this alchemist had it, he would have customer for life. She approached the counter and addressed the white pony behind it, "Pardon me, sir, but I'm looking for Sleeping Beauty's Elixir. Preferably in large amounts; I work with injured animals, and bones are so much easier to set when the animal's asleep and not trying to kick my teeth in."
  8. Orange Dart: Is incapable of any expression except overflowing happiness. (Imagine telling Fluttershy her bunny's leg is broken while looking like you just won the lottery.) Damien the Raven: Turns rainbow-colored and sings like a sweet little finch. Cartwright: Every piece of wood he touches becomes warped. (He builds the special carts the pegasus ponies pull.)
  9. That would make sense. Pigs could also be kept to be a natural way of getting rid of table scraps and stuff. I imagine they keep the cows for leather (although that's a disturbing thought, considering the cows are sentient) and milk (for milkshakes and chocolate, of course!). Chickens for eggs (for cakes and cookies and such). Really most farm animals have purposes besides meat, so I could see ponies keeping all of them. Although I don't think Sweet Apple Acres would keep pigs. Pigs reek to high heaven for miles around, and since nopony seems to have issues with visiting the farm, or being around AJ or Big Mac, there's probably no pigs there. Speaking of Big Mac, he probably smells like dirt and leather and apples.
  10. http://dodgerwolf.livejournal.com But I don't post much. I'm mostly there for the drama communities.
