Mane/Tail: Slate grey ([colour=#708090]#708090)[/colour], with a secondary mane and tail colour of a light grey. ([colour=#d3d3d3]#D3D3D3[/colour]) Her mane curls back on the front, and her ponytail curls outward, knotted with a simple red ribbon. Her tail is short, straight, and curls slightly outward.

Physique: Shorter than the average mare, has little athletic build, but is fairly healthy and average in weight.

Residence: Traverse lives in a two-story medium sized home in the Obsidian District in the Crystal Empire. Strangely enough, her home is also her workplace, which covers the whole first floor.

Traverse's interest in cartography sparked when she was asked to make a map of her own neighborhood as a school project. She was at first reluctant to do the project. But, as she progressed through her work, she began to admire the making of maps; the process had an organized feeling. Most of all, it gave a reassuring sense of security, giving her direction when needed, and useful in times of uncertainty during navigation. Exploring before mapping out the territory or area added the excitement to the process.

She later took her cartography skills to a larger scale by drawing her whole district, for the simple reason of giving herself a challenge and her unexpected interest in cartography. It was then that she found out that map-making was much more complicated than it seemed. It was much more difficult drawing things to scale, and exploring in such a large range was tiring.

This did not discourage the filly, however, and Traverse later came up with an idea to solve these problems. She persuaded her friends and neighbors to help her explore parts of the district to make her own exploration work less tiring, then giving Traverse simple maps of the sections of her district. She later pieced them together one by one, adding further detail. Even though she had to revisit places again to make her map more accurate, her work was made less grueling.

The result was a complete, large map of the Amethyst District of the Crystal Empire. While finishing up some final details on her map, a cutie mark appeared on her flank. It was then that she decided to work on the fields of cartography.

History: Traverse, like most ponies, was born and raised in the Crystal Empire; she originally lived in the Amethyst District in a typical medium-sized home, located rather tightly between other homes. Traverse's father worked as a publisher; her mother did not have an occupation. Traverse has an older sister, who Traverse idolizes greatly during her filly years due to her high grades and praise from peers and teachers.

On the contrary, Traverse found school a bit difficult for her. Though she had great math and social science skills, she often did not follow along with the class. For example, she would doze off onto another page that her class was not on, usually leading to confusion and some struggle. She did not feel like doing schoolwork she doesn't like, resulting in her doing it with poor effort, or being easily distracted by other things.

Her bad habits were, fortunately, corrected upon, and as she grew older, she was able to keep her grades at a decent level, with some above average scores. After Traverse got her cutie mark, the following of her older sister came to an end, and she started a "career" in map making, creating maps for stores to make their location well-known by other ponies.

During her university days, she had mainly studied geography; after finishing her undergraduate courses, she remained in university for some time for post-graduate courses- Traverse never finished it, however. Out of university, she moved from company to company in where she could use her cartography and geographic skills. She had also settled down in a new home in the Obsidian District. Eventually, she had enough money to finance and establish her own company, in which she named after herself: Traverse Mapping.

Before she officially opened the company, however, the Crystal Empire was taken over by a dark lord in the name of King Sombra. Like the fate of many other Crystal ponies, she was enslaved, the Crystal Empire shrouded for around a millennium. After the dark lord was defeated, Traverse did the most to return to her typical life, and finally opened Traverse Mapping. Though the young company only had three members (including herself), she was pleased to see her dream come true. Her "journey" didn't end there, however; Traverse had decided long before, as a filly, to devote her life to cartography, and she was willing to keep that self-promise, no matter where her career took her to.

Currently, she has returned to helping other ponies create maps for navigational and commercial use. Recently, she had taken the duty to update the maps of the Crystal Empire- after a 1000 years, most maps used by the Crystal Empire have not been kept up to date.

Character Summary: Traverse's most apparent and evident trait is her rebelliousness; she tends not to follow a belief or "crowd". (For example, if she was to vote between two choices, she would choose the one voted the least often.) Despite this, Traverse understands when to "kick" and when to obey.

She is quite flexible, and is able to change plans without any problems. On the other hand (hoof?), Traverse retains her habit of doing things, important or not, she is not comfortable or simply does not like doing last. Her procrastination often leads to suddenly rushed schedules and other bothersome issues. Time is sometimes her enemy; sometimes she finds it difficult to work on deadlines without sacrificing quality.

Traverse likes having authority and leadership whenever she can, and treats her peers and employees fairly. She is able to understand their feelings and often sacrifices her own time to finish work that other ponies can not complete in time. She also likes to keeps things organized and in order, and is somewhat of a perfectionist; she does not finish something unless she is satisfied, and wants things to be precise and correct.

She has great patience and is adaptable to changing environments. Traverse had developed these traits due to working for long times on projects and facing several unexpected situations during her career.

When she isn't working, Traverse travels in her leisure time to the lands south of the Crystal Empire. Lately, she also has interest in machinery and tools of a more advanced technology, compared to their own from a 1000 years ago. Because of this, she often uses more recent tools in place of older ones; she puts efficiency above traditional usage. Traverse also reads books, mostly science fiction, from paranormal/supernatural abilities to dimensional travel. Occasionally, she listens to gossip.

Traverse, surprisingly, does not have any loving relationship with a stallion; instead, her love is put into her finished works. She likes staying at a high altitude, mostly because she loves gazing at the city around her. Her only fear is isolophobia, or a fear of being alone. Thankfully, she has a small amount of visitors at her home/workplace to prevent her fear from being triggered,

I am really liking this app! All of the required fields are filled and it is very well written! The Cutie Mark story, though brief, does cover the matter to my satisfaction.

This app looks VERY strong! I'm not an expert on the Crystal Empire's geography, but if all of those sections check out with the Senior RP Staff, I see no problem with this app getting approved!
