Whisper got her Cutie Mark one day whilst her father; a famous Unicorn pianist named Maestro, was in the throes of a great piece of music. Like most creative minds, her father got a little too passionate and forgot most of the time to write down the tune he was playing. Much to his dismay.

On this day, it was no different. Her father was playing his piano whilst she, being as young as she was, was writing up a few things for class - however when she noticed her father was in one of his throes again, she decided to scoop as much paper as she could and write down the notes her father was belting out amidst his passion. Oddly, she found herself enjoying it, having been more prone to writing anyway, but aiding in something creative certainly made her feel much more happier with her process.

Her father was distraught at the idea of not writing down any of what he considered to be his magnum opus; until his daughter laid up a large pile of papers with the notes written down perfectly in order from start to finish. He was overjoyed and so was she, she'd found a passionate and emotional side to writing. And through it, her Cutie Mark.

History:

Whisper was born in Canterlot to a very upstanding family, both high ponies in the social ranks and regional musical stars; her mother, Songbird, was an opera diva who could fill an entire ampitheatre in one night with her singing - with her partner, the equally famous pianist Maestro to accompany her voice with his music. Both parents were more than elated at the birth of their first child, but early on it was obvious to both musical unicorns that life had a cruel sense of irony.

Whisper was born mute, or atleast the doctors of Canterlot said that she would most likely never be able to speak. Songbird's dreams of having a duet with her daughter in the future, or infact having any conversation with her daughter were quickly dashed. However she loved her child never the less and quickly taught her how to use her magic to write how she felt and how she was instead of talking.

The young unicorn took to writing immediately, learning to write her first sentence before she could even trot properly. Problems were still there, communicating with foals her age through writing was not an easy task and sometimes she was met with either disdain or flat out rejection, much to her heart ache. Thankfully she never took it to heart. Her lifting moment during her written studies, was when she put her talent to use in helping her father with his magnum opus and discovered her cutie mark.

From that day on, she was at her father and mother's side, helping them in a different way from what they had hoped. Up to her graduation from Canterlot University, she had helped compose thirteen full operas, and seventeen piano pieces for both her loving parents. However it was time to find her own hooves in the rest of the world.

Ofcourse both Songbird and Maestro were worried about their daughter doing well, but after some reassurance and some bits to help her move to any place she'd desired; Whisper was soon on her way to seek her own method of fulfilling her own dreams.

Currently, she rents a house in Ponyville, doing the odd scribe jobs for ponies. Helping with official forms and a few other things, sometimes even doing the odd delivery to help with the rent. She's happy and has happily downplayed any sort of fame her writing or lineage may have gotten her within the musical community for the sake of her own privacy and quiet writing space where she can focus on her own projects.

Character Summary:

Whisper is a patient and graceful pony, being young and ofcourse brought up with the uppercrust she has a sense of finery about her, thankfully without lording it over other ponies. Despite being mute she has a friendly and sociable demeanor, often carrying tiny conversation cards that she's made herself to talk to ponies and a tiny notepad and pencil to add to a conversation if none of her cards fit.

Being mute, it makes her the 'listener' of any group of friends. She can keep a secret well enough or just be the wall to cry against if people need to and she's used these techniques well during her jobs where she has to take in all the information for a specific task. In general she means no ill to anyone and is generally a people pleaser. Going out of her way to make sure that customers at whatever small job she has at the moment are satisfied, or that her friends are happy.

As patient as she is, she also has her stressful moments; she can't exactly alarm anyone if they're in trouble and often carries a very loud and sharp whistle that has gotten her into more trouble than it's kept people out of.

Her biggest flaw, surprisingly is when she's too quiet. When she puts others need ahead of her own, or at the sake of her own emotions. She's often overworked herself to exhaustion for the sake of another's deadline, or denied her own feelings for the sake of someone else's happiness and played it off as tiredness. She ironically doesn't communicate her feelings as well as she communicates her thoughts or intentions on paper.

Whilst being slow paced and empathetic most of the time, Whisper also has her moments of passion and it's very obvious during her work. When she's writing something she's currently engrossed within - she can write for hours before realising she's almost dimished her paper supply. Much to her embarrassment. It can also cause to be ever so slightly abrasive if she's interupted, but it's never intentional, it's just her in the throe of her passion (something she inherited from her father).

Her main motivation is to write, not just something for other people, but something to express her creativity. A composition purely on her own, a full novel, she hasn't really focused on what yet so she uses her time in Ponyville - as well as the people she meets, as inspiration to her muse.
