TF2 and MLP: More logical class selection.

This post is what I think the TF2 classes and MLP references should be, by this I mean who would be what class in the TF2 universe, and why with a quick explanation and why the current ones should not be used. These are my ideas and what I think, don't like 'em then don't bother commenting negatively. My English is not too good and I apologize for anything spelled wrong or for bad grammar.

Scout: Why it shouldn't be Rainbow Dash.

The scout is known for speed and being able to pack a punch if played by the right person. Rainbow Dash is a loyal pony who would never betray her friends, but just like the scout... Cocky. Now with just that I'm sure most people would think that Scout and Rainbow Dash would be a good choice, right? Well lets get some background story before we make any choices.

Scout is known for living in Boston Massachusetts, being a 'in-your-face' kind of character, but kinda known for being a prankster, Rainbow Dash anyone? Now that seems correct but here is something on his gameplay. The Scout is the kind of class that can come in, out of nowhere, and do some hurt and get out without even being noticed. He is also known for being the jokester and funny guy, enjoying a good laugh and taunting and pretty much always being the mood raising kind of guy, now reading this is kinda dumb and you still might think it's Rainbow Dash in TF2, but I think a better candidate is Pinkie Pie, I mean here is are a few reason why:

Just imagine Pinkie Pie as the Scout, it's hard but bare with me, she not only has the 'power' to break the 4th wall but almost also considerably the power to teleport and float, pretty much already giving her the second jump ability and the mobility of the TF2 scout, slap a cap on her and give her a scatter and I'm sure she could do some damage bouncing around, knowing when something will fall from the sky with her Pinkie sense, dodging them like she just had a big swig of Bonk atomic punch, see what I mean?

Conclusion: Pinkie Pie is a better scout for her 4th wall breaking abilities and her Pinkie sense.

Soldier: Why it shouldn't be Spike.

Soldier is a crazed hippie hating patriot form the bacon heart of 'Murica, but also referred to as Jane Doe. Spike the dragon, Twilights loyal and number one assistant, and in-love with a particular white unicorn mare. Now even looking at it now you think that spike maybe just got that part by default, but here is a good explanation of why it shouldn't be him, and why it should be Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo.

Like before, some background story. The Soldier, also known as Solly or Jane Doe, is a crazed american patriot who is in post war trauma, after going on a Nazi killing spree getting hired to continue fighting a war, which he enjoys doing, and lives with a wizard...pretty random if you think about it, nothing like Derpy. Now background on Derpy, a gray pegasus who enjoys muffins and delivers mail, often having a few odd jobs, and pretty much loved by the whole fandom, still nothing like soldier... But once again, bare with me.

Soldier was willing to fight in WWII but was rejected by every branch at the time, he still made his way to Europe and taught himself how to use various weapons, continuing to go on a Nazi killing spree, it ending when the war was declared over. Derpy, a love background character willing to be in an episode for real, then being denied by some sensitive parents, still forcing her way into MLP episodes and even in Equestria Girls, all might coming to an end with the rumor of her being removed in season four...now you see what I mean? and not just that, the soldiers nick name, Jan Doe means a female person or corpse whose true identity is unknown or must be withheld, Derpy anyone? A female person whose true identity is unknown... also reffering to Derpys different names and different personalities known through out the fandom.

Gameplay of the soldier, known as shock and awe, pretty easy to use and with the right player the best class possible, but with the clumsy and 'derpy' one of the most accident prone ones. I am sure we have all felt that annoying feeling when you are shooting your rocket launcher around the corner, when you suddenly miss a shot, making yourself explode... Or when you are rocket jumping across the map and about to make the best market garden in your life... When not only do you miss... but you die from fall damage. That is what I mean when it should be Derpy, an all loved accident prone and used class, with an all loved and accident prone pony, do ya get it now?

Pyro: Why it shouldn't be Pinkie Pie.

The Pyro is a class with little back story and no real identity at all, pretty much making this the hardest one of my choice. going through the mane 6 I had found that none of them make a good candidate, so I went to background ponies, nope, villains? Well I kinda had issues too, but found other people using the same pony...Trixie... A mare of mystery and well... a bit of a bloaty pants, always showing off...still not getting a connection...maybe some background story?... Oh yeah... Never mind.

Gameplay time... Pyro is known for being not only the offense class but also the support class, using its all around items such as the flamethrower to spy check for engies, being able to extinguish other players and the various melee weapons to get rid of sappers. Pyro is also known for being the 'rage' class, meaning people use this class a fall back, using the pyro only to insure a kill to other players in a very easy manor. Now Trixie is known for being mysterious yet cocky, using her tricky magic and deceiving personality to trick the weak minded into following her lead... Wow now she sounds like the spy... anyways when thinking about Trixie as a pyro I just think of someone who is now redeemed, could be offensive but might choose being supportive and help out other players, like Trixie redeeming herself and deciding to be friends with the mane six, like the pyro suddenly might decide in being the supportive class.

When it comes to the pyro not being Pinkie Pie I just simply think it IS possible, considering how the pyro has his pyroland stuff being all happy in his head but is actually being very horrible and burning everything to the ground is like thinking of Pinkie Pie going on a killing spree while thinking she's just hosting a great party, pretty much 'Pinkamena Diane Pie', but when it comes to gameplay and the bit of personality that the pyro has depending on the player, I prefer Trixie pyro...

Demoman: Why it shouldn't be Zecora.

First off, I am 100% sure Zecora got the Demo class just cause she is a zebra and might be from Africa, meaning she is possibly black... Seriously? That is why she is Demoman? That's a bit racist considering they have nothing in common besides that...

Now on to who it should be... Apple Jack. Demoman is a drunk Scottish demolitionist who enjoys making things go boom. Apple Jack is a honest pony who loves doing things her way and working hard. No real connection so far but for the umpteenth time, just bare with me.

Demomans history implies he is a man who cares for his family, is able to multi-task between jobs and was an orphan till his real parents came back for him. Apple Jack is a hard working earth pony, caring more about her family then anything and her parents are currently unknown, possibly an orphan as well. Getting a bit more connected huh?

On the multi-tasking bit, gameplay pretty much shows demomen are and should be able to handle many things at once, since most demos lay their stickies at cap points and choke points, then continuing to move on with the grenade launcher and bottle to do damage while their trap awaits and setting it off even while in combat, pretty much also implies he is good with multi-tasking.

Gameplay. Demoman is a stubborn class, and also a tough one, being able to deal out damage not only with his stickies but also in close range when going demoknight kinda falls with Apple Jack, an earth pony, tough and doing things their way and only their way. Demo man is tough and I'm sure you have noticed, taking on his own stickies just to get to places, I'm sure you couldn't survive an explosion at your feet, but a mare who has been kicking apples off trees her whole life might be able to. Demoman and Apple Jack would make great partners, both caring for their friends and family, demoman making friends with the enemy soldier, and Apple Jack making friends with the buffaloes, both once enemies and now close friends... Just the cow girl and the Scot.

The Heavy: Why it shouldn't be Big Mac.

Once again a class to pony set just made by appearance... Simple and quick so that instantly makes it easier for me to choose another pony... Fluttershy. Now now don't go 'FLUTTERSHY SHOULD BE MEDIC!!!' on me, and once again... SPOILER: Bare with me

The Heavy indeed is known for being pretty much what some classes should fear on the battlefield, but when it comes to his teammates The Heavy is very kind and nice... once again under use of the right player. The heavy is a man who speaks in short sentences and is secretly pretty smart, and very caring of his team. Fluttershy, a shy pegasus who mutters everything and speaks quietly, but is secretly pretty smart on the fashion sense and has a pretty mean side... The connection is pretty simple and easy to understand, right?

Gameplay. The Heavy is a big damage dealer on the battle field but really needs the help of his teammates, and is willing to do his best to take care of them, especially the medic. Fluttershy is a shy mare who normally looks for others when it comes to needing help, but also tries her best for her friends and animals, taking good care of them. The Heavy wielding the sandwich could be one of the nicest players imaginable, seeing a burning ally and just tossing it over to him, healing him, or seeing his medic on low health and quickly giving it to him to continue his hard work, and under the right pressure (Uber Charge), able to go out and do devastating damage. Fluttershy can easily relate, always trying her best to help her friends and pets, going to the extent of making her pets an exclusive dinner for each, and if under the right pressure (not being loved by animals) can go and become a big tornado of distruction... See? Heavy.

I am sure I am not the first to make Flutters into The Heavy, but like I said, I'm just trying to explain why I like them.

Engineer: Why it shouldn't be Apple Jack

Once again a class placed with a pony just by simple things, this time an accent... Seriously?

Engineer is a smart and precise class, he is a gentle old texan who enjoys being the one in the back and not upfront. Rarity is a g-'NO! RARITY IS SPY! SHE. IS. SPY.' shut up you! anyways... Rarity is a generous mare who needs to make her dresses perfect, she enjoys giving her friends gifts all the time and well...is a very precise mare.

((Was gonna finish this in one go but I got too tired will continue later :( ))

I don't think people go that into it, they just think character seems to be like other character...There is no real need to go into detail as to why they are wrong and you are right :P

Personally, I can't agree with you choice of Fluttershy for Heavy - and would stick with big Mac - for a sole, rather core reason: Health. The heavy class has far more health points than any other class, which just doesn't suit Flutters at all. I can't really picture her being able to take far more of a beating than, for instance, AJ as the Demoman.

The rest of these have reasonably solid reasoning, I'll be looking forward to a part two.

I'm glad someone responds with a good explanation, on other areas I have posted this most people just see it by the jobs and not the characters gameplay and personality, I appreciate it! And I am currently working on the part two of this, just have been thinking for the rest of the classes since I am sort of new to tf2 and am going through the classes and comics.

Going into detail is what is required in some cases, and it is applied in everyday things! The cast of MLP would not have been so colourful in design if not over thought! I have gone through some blogs including a bit of yours and the lack of interest in things make it un-bearable to read! I do not mean to offend you but over thinking things is what made TF2 take so many years to come out, and be one of the best games out there, and on the who is right and who is wrong, I simply said that these are my opinions and thoughts on them, clearly stating that I am not saying what is wrong or right, but what I and a few people prefer, I hope you actually took the time to read this and take sometime to think, cause you seem a little TOO quick.

Pretty interesting that Trixie is a Pyro. I play Pyro for a TF2 team and I'm not a big fan of Pinkie Pie to be honest.

I agree, I mostly play scout and pyro and I felt like they were the ones who needed different ponies for their classes the most, I appreciate you taking the time to read this^-^
