[OOC thread]

[No need to place your character near mine right away. I know he can be inconspicuous enough that there's less reason to approach him. ]

The drab brown areion colt grumbled and stretched as he secured the first soothing cup of tea for the day. He woke to a sun that was high and blinding, or it seemed so to him. If he was still for long enough, he could feel himself sinking into the earth and drifting off, but he'd rather stay conscious for a bit longer.

From the eyes of a resident, this old city looked quite different to how it appeared to its visiting holiday makers. Still beautiful, but home, not a resort location. Its attractions, its architecture, its lake and its greenspace were things he saw most days and every night, from the ground or above. The scenery lent itself well to the young writer's inspiration, but being exposed to it constantly, when a more weary mood took him it could wither into quite a mundane setting.

Luckily in warmer months many of those seeking a sojourn from their busy lives converged at the beach. Besides the shores, there was a subtle sort of track that the tourists tended to stick to, the more popular areas of town that they would visit such as the main strip, the markets or all that was in the vicinity of the hotels. A lot of the time it was the type interested in seeing the 'real' Trottingham that ventured between the lines, which suited him just fine. He often wanted a break from the denser crowds, especially now in the summer.

He sat on a bench by a gate of one of his favoured hangouts, a shady park situated between a cafe and a bookstore. Being less open to the sun, it was relatively quiet, more a venue for relaxing walks than waves of picnicking sightseers. He could doze off in there sometimes, only to later awaken, uneasily aware of the ponies who might've seen him dossing. Today, some dreamy summer piano tune drifted from the cafe, and he felt compelled to look through his trusty notebook and add to it.

The cheery peach Pegasus filly grinned and beamed as she secured the first chilled glass of juice for the day.  She woke to a sun that was warm and optimistic, or it seemed so to him.  If she was still for long enough, she could feel herself floating on the rays of sunlight, but she'd rather stay grounded for a bit longer.

In warmer months many of those seeking sojourn from their busy lives, like herself, converged at the beach.  Besides the shores, there was a subtle sort of track that she enjoyed sticking to, the popular areas of town that she visited such as the main strip, the markets, and all that was in the vicinity of the hotels.  She wasn't the type interested in seeing the 'real' Trottingham that ventured between the lines, and that was quite alright.  She loved a life in the dense crowds, especially in the summer.

She sat on a bench by a gate of one of the many hotels, a towering giant situated between a business suite and a restaurant.  Being completely open to the sun, it was relatively loud, more a venue for chippy sightseers than relaxing walks.  She couldn't imagine dozing off here, the excitement buzzing in the air.  Today, some blaring rock enchantment drifted from the restaurant, and she felt compelled to turn and peer through its window-all while taking a sip out of her juice.
