I can't really think of a genre I would refuse to watch simply because of being that genre, but I gravitate towards some stuff in particular, like ation

I just got bored of watching what I had already read, I might go back to the manga at some point though. Maybe I'll give the second season another go just because it was my first anime.

I read up to around chapter 90 in the manga when season two wasn't even out, and when it did drop I couldn't keep going. What's got you caught up?

It's gonna eat at me that Rose said SAO was the gold standard of anything positive now honestly

I'd recommend Overlord for something similar but not the same as SAO once you finish it, but the third season is still ongoing and has barely started so I don't know if that's a problem for you.

I wasted the last few days on Overlord, I would've done more but I didn't have any other anime to watch glances at above posts none at all

If I see something that pops up a lot and is something I was already considering, I usually pop it on. That's what happened with Overlord and I binged all of it that's out the last few days. I'll see if I get really bored though, there are a few I haven't touched yet that I probably should.
