Merriment

[ Pony Related Character ] Name: Merriment Gender: Female Age: Filly Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: White with two-tone green 'socks' and wings. Mane/Tail Color & Style: Golden blonde with lighter streaks. Her tail is worn in loose curls, while her mane is worn in ringlets with her forelock a bundle of neatly-coiled spiral curls. Eye Color: Light Green Cutie Mark: A golden music eighth note with a carousel pole for the staff, flagged with a purple banner with four smaller notes surrounding it: two green linked notes, a blue flagged note, two red linked notes, and a pink flagged note. Physique: Small and lean but not too thin; while she may love pretty clothes she's not one to skip a meal for the sake of beauty. Residence: She lives in Cloudsdale but commutes to Ponyville to run her shop. Occupation: Merriment makes music boxes; particularly carousel-themed ones. They range from standard musical statues to snowglobes to jewelry boxes from simple drum-and-prong players to more elaborate clockwork-and-steam miniature calliopes on the larger designs. Motivation: Carousels are something of an obsession for her – she really wants to one day restore, update and customize an old broken carousel and make it beautiful and fun again! She takes this goal to heart and tries to apply it to most things in life – Some ponies strive for beauty, others strive for fun, but why can't we have both at the same time? Likes: Carousels and all things that entails: tassels, ribbons, elegant saddles and delicately decaled bridles; music; strawberry ice cream; adventure of the mild variety(when she's not wearing her newest ruffles and just-polished shoes); and making new songs for her music boxes to play. Dislikes: Getting her new saddles dirty; bugs of the buzzing, flying variety; coconuts; mustard; and frizzy curls. Character Summary: Merriment is a bit shy around new people and can perhaps come across as being stand-offish at first, but when she warms up to them she is far more friendly. She loves to wear fancy saddles and bridles but they do tend to hinder her flying so Cloudsdale is where she sleeps but she spends most of her time on the ground and is considering moving down into Ponyville proper – shorter commute and none of the scary landings if her wing gets pinched down by her outfit. Once she warms up to ponies, she can be sort of excitable – given the opportunity, she'll wander off on a tangent about tassels and ruffles and all things carousel with hardly a breath spared between words.
