  1. I'm sure everyone has these kinds of words that they repeat endlessly, but since nopony's pointed mine out to me, I can't think of what it might be. I try to keep my vocabulary relatively mixed up. Once, during spoken conversation, I realised I'd been replying with "Well, yes." quite a lot, just because I couldn't think of anything else to say. Ooh, actually, I say 'I suppose' and 'I don't suppose' quite a bit.
  2. Perhaps I'm a bit of a head-case in this area. When it comes to real life, I am an atheist, and believe that everything that occurs can be explained in some measure of logic, one way or another. Cause and effect and all that. I believe life, at least on Earth, has no particular point or end goal. All that said, this isn't the way I want to look at life. That's why I spend the majority of the hours of my days in a daydream state, immersed in worlds of fiction where impossible and unlikely things do occur, and with great regularity. These fictional worlds are the places I was meant to be born into - places where genres define the rules of reality, characters are properly developed and shaped, and there is a fairly large chance that some kind of overarching deity does exist. If not that, then karma at least plays a massive role. Good always triumphs over evil. The Power of Love is scientific fact. So, to summarise, although I see the world as a bleak and logical place, that's exactly why I avoid it. In the words of Owl City, 'The Real World is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there'.
  3. They're doing it again. That thing where they release episodes in character clusters. We had 'Sisterhooves Social', 'Sweet and Elite' and 'Secret of my Excess', all Rarity-centric, in quick succession, and of course there was the 'May the Best Pet Win' and 'Mysterious Mare-Do-Well' couple for Dash, one right after another. Now, with 'Family Appreciation Day', 'The Last Roundup' and this one, it looks like it's Applejack's turn. They need a new scheduling guy. These episodes would run much smoother, I think, if the character themed ones were spaced out.
  4. It's a worry that's passed over my mind too, so it's at least nice to hear somepony else thinking the same thing. I have to go with the excellent points of and if I think of it that way, it really doesn't worry me at all. Hasbro can finally realise how to cash in on the show, and in turn end up putting out further seasons, or they could let it wither and die, but we'll always have what's already been created, and what is being created as we speak, and we can all appreciate and love that for as long as we feel we need or want to.
  5. Derpy Hooves is a wondrous thing. But I hope her appearances don't start getting more and more obvious like in 'Hearth's Warming Eve'. I like to play spot-the-Derpy, and that's hardly difficult when she jumps out at us like that. She needs to play the game right. Of course, her slightly more obvious appearance in 'Luna Eclipsed' was an exception. Man, that was funny.
  6. Who doesn't love staring at stars? And if we're going to finally meet some aliens, I can't think of a better bunch to start with than Equestria's lot
  7. I believe it means one of two things. Your need for ponies is so strong that you subconsciously drift back to pony videos no matter what you do... Or ponies are taking over the internet, and it's impossible to click a link without being poni'd. I like the second one
  8. Well, magic is the element that 'makes it all complete', so of course our favourite little unicorn would come last Hrm, I could try... don't you think that'd be sort of counter-productive?

If you're following my series of humanised pony portraits, it might interest you to know that Fluttershy is next on the agenda. If anyone asks, you didn't hear it from me
  10. Pffff... could be a bit of a stretch, you know, strangers on the internet and all that. How about I just 'like' your comment instead?

Pinkie Pie is the fourth in my collection of humanised ponies, and I worried about her quite a bit. First, there was the issue of her hair - ponies have hairlines in the middle of their heads, and that makes for some interesting styles, and with Pinkie in particular I was concerned about translating it properly into human hair. The other thing was that, so far in this series, I've drawn all the characters in full-body compositions, but this was my initial idea for this picture, and I couldn't think of a more dynamic way of drawing Pinkie that showed her from head-to-toe, so I just went with this anyway. Lots of pink, as you can see. The room was initially rather dreary, and it took a combination of rainbow streamers, glow effects and a couple of pink overlays to create the pink chaos of Pinkie Pie we all know and love Hope you like!

  13. I love Cutie Mark Chronicles, because I like the whole connected-before-meeting story, and it was cool to see all of the mane characters as fillies - added some depth. That episode also had a LOT packed into it, if you consider it had the CMC parts, each of the mane six's CM stories, a song from Fluttershy, and the conclusion explaining how it was all linked. THEN the letter to Princess Celestia. Packed. I also loved Sonic Rainboom, of course, Best Night Ever, and Boast Busters, because Twilight takes a serious level in badass in that one.
  14. You know something weird about the intro to season 2? You've got Big Macintosh and Granny Smith, right? And they pass by each other on the street, but they totally blank each other. They're not just walking together, because Big Macintosh kind of walks faster and goes in front of her. It's one thing not to hold a conversation when they're both busy, but if I saw my grandmother on the street, I think I'd at least acknowledge her. I have spent much time pondering this, and the only conclusion I can come to is that Big Macintosh, walking in front, didn't see Granny Smith, and Granny Smith, being either short-sighted or senile, doesn't notice Big Macintosh walking in front of her. OF COURSE IT'S IMPORTANT! WHO SAID THAT?! *twitch*
  15. Yowza, that's one heck of a compliment! Thank you! Thanks, I'm glad you like it Gosh, no pressure there then , well, Twilight is my favourite pony, and is actually going to be last in the series, so I really hope I can do right by us both
  16. It is tricky with Rarity - I personally get the impression she's the oldest in the group, but you still don't want to make her an old lady, and only old ladies wear glasses like those in real life. That plus the make-up she wears makes it a challenge, but I'm glad you approve

Part three. I'm a lot happier with this one than with Rarity, who wasn't as good as Applejack, and started to bug me after a while. After I've done all six, there's a good chance I'll go back and re-do Rarity's. I think the problem was that, after Applejack, I was making a conscious effort to try and top it, and got too stuck in character designing and taking the utmost care with background details. With this one, I just did what I do best - sketched a cartoon. Keeping it simple is the way to go, kids. A lot of the time when people draw humanised Rainbow Dash, she's wearing, like, these skimpy denim shorts. While not unpleasant to look upon, I really don't see Rainbow Dash wearing something like that in a million years. She's a tomboy, right? So she should dress like a boy. To that end, I dressed her in clothes that... well... they're kind of like what I wear, actually O.o
  18. I watch the opening theme every time, but usually stop the video when the episode's over, not too far into the closing credits.

The second in my set of six pictures depicting the mane six ponies, 'humanised'. After I got such a positive reaction from my Applejack one, I felt this huge pressure to do just as well with the next one, so I REALLY hope people like it! Rarity's scene was a lot more of a challenge than Applejack's, and the background required much finer work - hopefully that'll lend towards showing their different personalities, though. It's possibly not quite as pretty, since it's hard to beat a sunset scene from inside a workroom, but I tried to capture something of the 'magic' Rarity works when she creates her dresses. I also spend a little longer thinking through the character design with this one. Oh yeah - one more thing: Merry Christmas!
  20. Thank you I always feel a pressure to make every picture I draw better than the last one - and therefore the best picture I've ever done. If I don't, I immediately feel a dissatisfaction upon finishing it. Well, I suppose it's one way to make sure you keep improving!
  21. I will! XD For now, I need to sleep though!
  22. Thanks! I don't know about that floaty thing... somewhere along the line in the development of my style I started disjoining certain things... it's the same way the eyelashes aren't actually attached to the eyes and the eyebrows can be on TOP of the hair XD Hey, it's a cartoon, I don't question it *shrug*
  23. Ha, I'm glad you like my interpretation Personally, there's only one way for any Applejack to be - and overalls and galoshes pretty much sums it up
