I didn't ship them with any particular intent. I closed my eyes and pointed at a couple of ponies and there we had it XD It could be friendshipping, if that's any better.

Negative space is something that is definitely under-utilized in a lot of works. But clearly, it doesn't need to be an afterthought.

Whenever I do a drawing there's always that moment, after I've finished the flats, where I turn off the visibility on the lineart layer and realise it looks really cool without it, and every time I have to fight the urge to just save the picture like that. Otherwise I'd end up with two of every picture I've ever drawn XD

As for this one, nice work, though Big Macintosh's colours are a little off. His red could be a bit more red and his hair more blonde. When you haven't got lines, the colours are the only things you've got to tell us who the characters are, so it's important they're right. Colour guides are the artist's friends, you know

I really like Scoot's mane!TO me, it looks like Sweetie Belle has come up with another crackpot idea, and Apple Bloom is shrugging and looking up like "Oy vey!" Scootaloo looks similarly hesitant, but being more adventurous than AB, has to consider it.Whatever it is, they should do it, because Sweetie Belle is best CMC.

That's probably quite accurate. Though maybe Apple Bloom is like "We already tried that, remember?!" and Scootaloo's all "Let her finish, let her finish..."

They both have excellent designs. They make a cute couple... though going by the colour schemes, I'd be a little worried they were somehow related
