Hmm, she sees something suspicious. :oGreat pic though.
Just out of frame is a bird with an extremely suspicious expression, looking at her.
Thanks for the comment!

You're really good at drawing, you know!
Nice of you to say so
-
Ah... this scene's not going to end nicely...
BUT THIS ARTWORK IS!!
Have summore awesome points.
-
This looks great!
Thanks very much!
-
These look great, but you mush have some HECK of a scanner and marker set to get all the right outline colors. If you did them in black and white and then filled the rest in with color on the computer, that's another thing.I haven't colored anything traditionally in forever. x.x
Ha, nah, all the colours were done digitally, it was just that actual drawing of the outlines that was done by hand

I love this style. It's sharp, unique, and gives everypony a sense of dynamism and intensity that's tougher to show with the softer lines.
Thanks Though these were really more of a test than anything else - I was trying to show my sister that you could get weighted lines while using regular pens. That's why two of those are done in sharpie (IE the 'soft' ones) and the rest are with a regular thin marker that I filled in the heavier bits with.

Wow, smooth! It could have come right out of the show

At least Twilight seems to be...
Keeping her cool.
...
Please forgive me.
Awesome artwork as always, Ginger Mint. As much as I love those wallpaper thingies you do, when I see you've drawn a picture of a scene like this, I give a little woop for joy

Yeah, since I don't have a tablet, and I don't like taking hours to draw digitally, I use the right coloured Sharpies to outline the drawing on the paper, scan in, then colour. Why?
When I come home for Christmas I'll teach you how to do the strokes better. Remind me. You don't need a tablet to create good art.
As I keep trying to tell you, a tablet is just a tool, like a pen or a brush. It's the artist that's using it that matters.

Yeah, vectors can take a while, but the more you practice them, the quicker they get. One thing that I learned that makes it go faster is hotkeys. When I'm placing points down with the pen tool, holding down control and alt let me drag points to a better spot or manipulate their handlebars (whatever they're called) to change the angle of the curve running through a point.
Good tip. If I do more vectors, I'll definitely learn the hotkeys.

Rainbow and Pinkie are ADORABLE! Love the clothes, and the expressions. GREAT WORK!
...
Rainbow's not in this picture

Nice one. The eyes look really realistic O.o I'm not sure if it creeps me out or if it's cool

Words cannot describe how great this is

it's hard to say what one I like better. I like the black lines on the face, but I like the coloured lines on the rest of the body (especially the tail). maybe the yellow lines need to be a bit darker
That's what I'm thinking too. Thanks
-
They both look good, but I actually think I like the black line art better. Great job. :3
Thanks, it's harder to see the details with coloured strokes on this one, isn't it?

If you want my honest opinion, I don't like how RD's head looks in this picture. It looks more like a monkey head to me then a pony. That Scootaloo on the other hand I like a lot.
Point taken. I'm working on mouths as we speak =P

What a great character concept! Really sweet

This is simply wonderful! I love the expressions, and I don't know what you mean about the background. The way the snow hangs on the tree is super. *ker-saved*
Thank you! I guess I mean in comparison to some of the backgrounds to the actual show. Particularly the one I used for refference in this picture, which was a screenshot from Season 1 Episode 1, the first time you see the library, it just looks magnificent. I'm definitely going to start paying more attention to them when I'm watching now and focus on getting some good backdrops.

I didn't see this one before, it's super cute!
I might try my hand at some pixel art at some point, I always think the overall aesthetic is satisfying. If it's done right, as it is here, of course.
-
Thanks guys
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Twilight's scarf is a shout out to the Griffindor scarves in Harry Potter

"Snowman is my bestest friend whoopee, whoopee!"
Excellent Pinkie Pie! You captured her to a T!
-
Nice! Do more Rarity!
I'll see what I can do
I've got a couple of hefty projects in the works at the moment, though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Are wind and fire on their way? I think these are great, but I must admit that I think Applejack's expression is particularly endearing.
Ha, thanks. I dunno, I can't think of any ponies to go with wind and fire... except maybe Spitfire and Soarin'. It was mainly just that these were the two ponies I was sketching, then when I decided to make them into a proper picture I thought about them and decided that earth and sky was what made them opposites.

Really awesome! In my personal opinion the neck is a liiiittle bit too long. I do that all the time, so don't worry >w<Everything else is great!
Actually that was an intentional stylistic decision this time

I'm not sure what exactly is going on with her legs, but she definitely doesn't look as confident as Dash. I guess I was seeing how much meaning I could get out of simply the positioning of legs. Thanks for the comment
