1. Better late than never! I do hope your pony brought along the finest of puches, such as Germaney's own "Feuerzangenbowle" or "Sujeonggwa" from the eastern lands...Which is always nice. And pie! Do they make red velvet pie? Mmm. And ofcourse an spell to remove the illusion that they are in fact not in a dingy old warehouse room but in an impressive wizard's tower filled to the brim with ancient books and learned ponies with useful skills and spells to teach. Make it so! (Claps hooves)

Oh hey, now. You can't rush the mare of the hour! ;) I dunno about any Germaney punches, but she brought you guys something even better!

     disappointment.

"Oh no, oh no! This isn't good. I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!" A periwinkle maned mare had her flank in full gear, galloping full speed down the streets of Canterlot. Well this wouldn't be the first time she was late. She was sure she'd be late to her own wedding when the time came, but today was different! Over the course of a few months she had been thinking and coming up with a simply splendid idea, one that she was sure to have a wondrous out come. "A magic guild..." Nivial whispered under her breath, veering around a corner, galloping even faster as she heard the dongs of a clock signaling the top of the hour. She had spent the few amount of bits she'd worked for at various odd jobs to have flyers made and posted them all around the city of Canterlot.

"The adventure!" She shouted with a huge grin on her face, a few by-standing ponies looking at her with confused looks. "The treasure, the friendships!" Nivial began skipping, her mind going into a frenzy of thoughts of the idea of forming a magical guild. "It's going to be amazing-OOF!"

There was a loud rattling as the timid mare came face first with a warehouse door. Her cheek pressed against the could metal as she slid to the ground. "Ouch..." She said in a barely audible and incomprehensible way. She rose from the ground, stroking her rosy red cheek as she gazed up at the towering door, gulping down hard. "Well this is it..." She thought as she reached for the handle of the warehouse door, only to pull away quickly and spin around in place, looking for something that should have been on her back. "Wait...Oh, shoot, I forgot the punch and pie!" Her mind had shifted gears as she readied herself to run back home and grab the decadent delights, but she stopped once more. "Oh...but what if there are ponies waiting on me. I'm already so late, I don't want to keep them waiting any longer..." She held her breath and made a sound similar to a steam train, before suddenly popping up with a determined look on her face. Nivial faced the warehouse door, used her hoof to shine the small sun-like emblem necklace around her neck, then pulled on the handle, the door creaking open slowly to reveal unfamiliar faces...

  3. I told you not to wait on me. I didn't even post my application for my character until earlier today. Due my policy of not posting an app until i have filled it completely...Though that seems to have put me a little behind schedule.....Not to mention I'm still not finished....

Go ahead and start it, I have no problem with entering into the guild a little late. Though if this is an issue, I'll just drop out.

Yesh, having people drop out is EXACTLY what I want to avoid. :3

  4. Oh, ok! And, yes, I believe it's Art Rage. Wait......So I still need a CD port for that.....Or I could search the interwebz for a similar art program, right?

Installation CD, install, put in a safe never to be seen again.

    Thank you LM!! :)

Yep! The net has plenty of artsy-farsty programs to choose from, like Photoshop or Painttool SAI. I personally have never used the art programs that come packaged with the tablet, but from my experience, you're not missing out on anything.

  5. You can do that?

So that way I have both CD's on my laptop and I don't need a CD port? :| Mind = Blown

Wait, another question (me disregarding answer)

I only need the installation CD to down load the software then I never need it again, right?

So I'd only need the software bundle disc after installing the installation disc?

Life of a Internet and tablet n00b

I may have led you in the wrong direction. If I'm not mistaken there was an art program CD that came with your tablet. Art Rage, Corel Painter or something. You won't be able to get that from the Wacom website, just the drivers so that you can have all the functions (pen pressure, etc) of the tablet.

Yep, you only need the installation CD to install the drivers and software then you'll never need them again (unless you uninstall the software or format/wipe your computer)

  6. Am I allowed to rant to you? I don't care if you say no, sooo.......

Ok, so I got a Bamboo Splash!!! :kissy:

But my laptop doesn't have a CD port.....What should I do!? And yes, I totally overlooked this when receiving the tablet.....Know of any good external CD port thingies?

Wow how did I skip this. Well here's what I do. Go to the Wacom official website and download the driver and software that would come with your tablet. :3 Simple solution.

Off the record, I do this whenever I lose the installation CD for my printers, tablets, etc.

  7. Posted in the other thread:

I think this event went down very well. I can't wait to see if another one of these art request festivals pops up here on the forums. ^_^

IMO. It could have been A LOT better. I think it was great nonetheless though, but the thread wasn't posted on December 1st as we planned which would have given us some much needed time to draw. Time was the biggest factor in all of this, and their certainly wasn't enough of it to say the least! XD I'm glad that you all had some position reviews about the process and about the art as well. There may or may not be more events in the future like this (have to keep it secret ;) ) but look for them, this was fun and I will/would GLADLY do it again.

  8. Well, that's reassuring then. :)

No one wanted to draw Snowfall and Pathfinder though? That surprises me... they're like adorable and stuff... :|

I wanted to draw it, but Elly grabbed it first. I guess since its all said and done and the multi-Santa secret it out, Ill draw it :3

I await eagerly, Santa Hooves :)

Take all the time you need, I'm good :D

Edit: Wait, is it just a matter of waiting on the request being done or if it's not done then it won't ever be done?

Sorry, I got confused here :(

Santa Hooves is going to finish those request! You actually think he would leave Canterlot hanging like that!? :o Where's your spirit, Colton!

  9. But not for everyone, I see... :(

And I thought I'd be good making my request before anyone else.

Well it was a pool of artist who pick and chose what they wanted to draw. Do not fret! Santa Hooves may be late, but he isn't done yet!

Do not worry. Do not haste. Because Santa Hooves eats tooth paste! NO! No he doesn't! Never mind!

  10. I don't think the app honestly looks that far off. It's a good foundation.

You might consider updating to the current application form. In doing so, you can fold the likes/dislikes/motivation into the character summary and elaborate on them there for more detail. You won't really need to add too much to it then. Maybe just a touch more detail to the personality/flaws.

With that, you'd only really have to focus on the cutie mark story and the history sections, and really we do not ask for anything excessive for either of these.

I see origin is undecided at the moment. Now, on the current app form we don't ask for origin as a field (instead asking for the current residence there). Still, figuring out where the character is from will undoubtedly help you shape the character's history. You can take this a number of ways. With the show pony thing, having him come from Las Pegasus might make sense and allow for some fun possibilities. Alternatively, you could have him come from Manehattan, Staliongrad, Fillydelphia or another one of the cities. Once you've settled on that part, it might help give you some ideas for the history. Again, you do not need to go overboard for history. If there isn't much to tell, you don't have to say much.

For the cutie mark story, likewise, you don't need to give us an extreme level of detail (really, the section where we're looking for the most detail is character summary/personality, which you already have a good foundation for). For the story, feel free to keep it simple and just make sure it relates to the character's talents and overall character.

Hope that's some help. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. :)

The time wizard saves the day! :D
