Hihi, I feel the application is looking good, I just wanted to mention a couple things, one thing that needs to change and just one FYI.

For cutie marks the de jure rule is before any pony reached adulthood, so she doesn't have to be a foal when she gets it, she can be a filly (equivalent to a teen), just not an adult pony.

Gaberott is the Diamond Dog capital; that being said, nothing wrong with her being born there or for her cutie mark story to happen there, just may want to say "Diamond Dogs and Ponies" as the former would be the grand majority. If you are not comfortable with a Diamond Dog city, there are a few nearby pony towns that will work but that is up to your discretion.

The changes have been made, as well as an addition to her personality. Thanks for the heads up on that!

Some games play this straight "Why wont you answer me!!!" others give you a multiple-choice of what you can say and people just regard you as 'not speaking often' instead of a 'mute freak' (beautiful example of the former is the PORTAL series where the antagonists constantly refer to chel as a mute)

Well I can see no issues with him living his life mainly aboard an airship, my one question though is his occupation where it says he captains the ship (at least part of the time). That seems a bit far-fetched for a pre-cutie mark young colt to do, especially given that there are adults aboard (at least his parents). I can see being a captain as an ambition for the colt, but actually running of a ship may be a bit too much, especially if he hasn't figured out his special talent yet (doesn't mean he can't have *any* job on the ship though).

Whats up, Blaze. Long time no hear! Anyway, Spotlight's app seems kind of short sighted compared to other apps. She seems more open I guess I'm just not used to seeing apps "lacking" in information. Do you plan to complete the last part? History, cutie mark, flaws,etc. It would be kind of cool though to have her past a secret that's revealed during RP, but now she just seems so....average.

I'm not a great writer myself (just look at my apps XD) so I'm not sure how to make it "better."

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: His mane and tail are a very standard yellow. He has a single braid pinned together with a small silver cylinder. He also sports two odd looking feathers in his mane. One a rainbow colored feather and the other, a light brown.

Physique: He has the physique of a standard colt, but looking closely at his face you can see he has the face of a cute, new born baby foal.

Cutie Mark: None

Origin/Residence: He's currently living in Hoofington, but he was born in Ponyville while his family was traveling the country on a sight seeing tour.

Occupation: Steamy Do is a steam engineer and part of the time works helping his parents aboard their airship: Ales Via. He helps with a multitude of chores, from swabbing the deck, to cooking, maintenance of the steam engine, and more. He's quite a well rounded pony.

Motivation: Steamy Do is motivated by his thirst for knowledge and love for steam based technology. He loves the smell of the evaporated water as he works with different cogs and levers to create the next life changing piece of machinery.

Likes: Flying and giving tours on his air ship, sweets especially sugar sticks, hanging out with the regulars at the Hoofington bar.

Dislikes: When ponies don't pay attention to him while he's talking, when ponies try and trick him, things that are to straight forward (he prefers to try and figure things out). His largest pet peeve is when some one calls him shrimp., due to his small stature and "baby face" like looks.

Character Summary:

History – Steamy is the son of two famous adventures. He never had a legitimate education and was home schooled while the trio family traveled from place to place in there air ship, the Ales Via.

Parents – It quite obvious to see where Steamy gets his adventurous streak from! His parents for a majority of their adult and child lives were adventures themselves. Both of Steamy Do's parents are Earth ponies. His mother, Rolly Thundermane and father, Flint Ironstag knew each other since they were little foals and have been adventuring together ever since. Its not surprise that they're child would join their adventures. Once Steamy was born the two settled down on their adventurous streak, but still moving around quite a bit.

Cutie Mark Story - He doesn't have a cutie mark yet, but little by little he feels he getting ever closer to it! Its not his first priority like some ponies.

Flaws – His personality is is practically his biggest flaw. He's dorky, sometimes going overboard when talking about the rather complex nature of his steam works with other ponies. He's completely oblivious to the feelings of other whether on purpose or accident, that is unknown. He expects everyone to be as steely in the feeling department as him. He doesn't make emotional attachments with ponies very easily, knowing that he may have to leave on his travels sooner or later, nor does he think about how others may react to what he says, which makes it hard for others to try and get close to him.

Personality - Dorky, loud, and possibly the most cocky colt you will ever have the pleasure to lay your eyes on. He's a dork in the sense that everything is an invention to him. The clothes on a pony's back, a building, a train, everything. He loves to tinker with the bits and pieces that make up the world around him. He's an inventor and his style of dress greatly reflects that as well as his personality. He can be fickle at times his interest in technologies constantly changing, but still related to steam. Its safe to say that he's one to judge, if a pony doesn't meet his expectations (which are known to only him) he can sometimes (and most likely will) not be to happy about becoming friends! He's cocky about his skills as an engineer which can some times put off other ponies from wanting to become friends with him, but he has a reason for such outlandish behavior that he prefers to keep secret from other ponies.

For a crossover or free-form roleplay, alicorns are an acceptable species. However, as a note, crossovers are generally where another fictional world interacts with the FiM setting, so this character may be better-suited for freeform, wherein anything goes. I could see there being difficulty in writing up this character as being on the FiM-side of a crossover.

Ah, okay! The only reason she would be based in Ponyville is because that's the area I'm most familiar with (aren't we all). It actually has a lot of areas which Matte Sparkle likes to paint. Although there are probably similar areas like it elsewhere, I just prefer pony. She also has a past in Ponyville, but I'll explain in the Application ^_^

Motivation: Matte Sparkle is heavily motivated by her mentor, the official curator of the Hoofington Galleria, whom she is told to call simply 'van Hay.' She has become quite attached to the smells and sights of the works displayed inside of gallery, which she has been visiting ever since she was a small foal.

Likes: carving, modelling, assemblage, printmaking, any kind of visual art!

Dislikes: Performing arts of any kind. Feels that they don't provide adequate ways of self expression.

Character Summary:

Matte Sparkle is quite the character! While she doesn't have any talent to speak of she is quite interested in the visual art form. Matte Sparkle is a studious pony when the occasion rises. In school she in a slacker sitting at the back of the class doodling or day dreaming, even go so far as to sleep. She doesn't have any interest in the subjects taught in school, yet when the bell rings she can be seen rushing over to the The Hoofington Galleria of Fine Arts, where she can find solitude among the numerous painting, sculptures and pieces of art that adorn the large stone building.

History – Matte Sparkle was born in the seashore town with the convenience of the suburbs known as Hoofington! While she enjoys the hustle and bustle of the big city she yearns for a quaint and quite place to call her own, which staying at home does not accomplish! Matte Sparkle's early life was spent finding her purpose in life. From an early age she ha been obsessed with gaining her cutie mark and more importantly, something she could do that she would be good at, something that she could strive for, not simply a hobby.

Parents – Matte Sparkle was born to two pegasi, Stardust Sparkle as well as Aurora Boriallis, along with 17 other pegasi, all colts, might I add. Matte Sparkle is the youngest and only female in the family (apart from her mom) which leads to some crazy moments, yet Matte is treated like a goddess. Matte Sparkle's parents are tasked with the a very heavy burden, taking care of 18 children is no easy task. Aside from that, their income comes in the form of two ways: Aurora Boriallis, Matte's father, is the chief weather pony in Hoofington. He takes request as to the type of weather needed in each part of Hoofington as well as other important jobs like commanding the flock of pegasi' who manage the skies above Hoofington.

Stardust Sparkle, Matte's mother, manages the imports and exports of everything that flows in and out of Hoofington. From produce, like apples and oranges, to materials, like wood or stone, she's the mare to see! With the manner of importance Matte Sparkles parent's jobs hold and having to take care of 17 other pegasi', they become quite flustered, not having enough time to care for Matte Sparkle. Nonetheless, they let her know that they love her. Matte Sparkles parents know next to nothing about their only daughter which frustrates them to no end, they have watched her grow up mainly alone, becoming self sufficient in many ways that her parents could not help her with.

At one point in time, Matte Sparkle's parents signed her up for ballet practice. While this didn't go over quite as well as they hoped, it did open up an entirely new world for Matte Sparkle, instead of performing arts, why not visual arts. So, it was thanks to her parents that she has become so interested in visual arts an also their fault she has closed off the world of performing arts, making her world of the arts only fixated on one type/form.

Flaws – Matte Sparkle is a very stubborn pony! Due to her self sufficiency, she feels that she doesn't have to rely on anypony and that she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. This causes her to disregard help from anypony even in the most dire of situations. This usually leads her plenty of trouble in the grand scheme of things. To add to her personality, Matte Sparkle is quite confused when it comes to herself. She's not quite sure what she wants and spend most of her time in her thoughts, which has made her a very antisocial pony. She dislikes the company of other and hates it when her older brothers interrupt the very rare moments of solitude she gets at home. This sometimes makes her come off as a mean foal, when in truth she only wants a friend whose on the same intellect level as herself. Yet, she has a hard time relaying this 'requirement' to otherponies.

Name: Flame Trotter (Formally Flame Trotter the IV (Part of the Trotter Family)

Species: Pegasus

Coat Color: His coat is a shiny yet dull orange.

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: His mane is is colored red. While spiky at the ends, it is still long and beautiful. He also has a single yellow stripe going down his tail and mane.

Physique: while an average sized long with no muscle to speak of, he's still strong and tough, able to take a hit and lift things several times his own weight.

Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is that of a large flame! With a small yellow core and a large red flame surrounding it. Quite simple.

Origin/Residence: Flame Trotter was born and raised in a quiet life among the tranquil gardens and woods of Solstice Heights. He was born into one of the side branches of the Trotter family. While not the most recognizable bunch being a side family they make a living off of growing a plentiful amount of crops and selling them in nearby places.

Occupation: He doesn't have a job to speak of. But he does have several hobbies and chores he us tasked with to help his family survive, such as changing the weather patterns to help crops grow quicker and healthier. Because of this, he has a very extensive knowledge of crops, weather patterns in a multitude of places (which he learned of from books in his father's library, who used to be a traveler), as well as wild crops.

Motivation: His motivation comes from his strive to keep his family healthy and alive. Growing good food for them is one way he keeps them all happy and full of energy to do there jobs. He understands that because he is the one who grows crops he is the one his family relies on for strength, and a full stomach!

Likes: Growing crops, lazing about on a cloud (preferable a storm cloud), rainy days, his family (especially his little sister whose very clingy to him.)

Dislikes: When his sister or family is sad, fighting unnessesarily, bad guys (those he deems bad), the main branch family.

Character Summary:

History – Flame Trotter was born is the tranquil forest of Solstice Heights. With no one else around to befriend his only source of compary was his family. From an early age Flame Trotter has had a very strong sense of duty, taking after his father who has been a huge influence and role model to him. He also acquired quite the cocky attitude as well! When it comes to certain things (mainly crops, cultivation and the like), Flame Trotter knows (or at least likes to think) that's he's second to none. This method of thinking has always been his motivation to study harder and learn more about the types of plants and the way weather patterns can be changed to make a more plentiful and nutritious harvest.

Parents – Flame Trotters parents are a comedy duo of sorts, showing their love for each other through hilarious wise-cracks and knee slapping jokes. Nonetheless they ate very loving parents seeming to crack down harder on Flame Trotter than the other two members of the family. They have high hopes for Flame Trotter and hope that one day he will leave the quite sanctuary of his home in Solstice Heights to live and thrive on new experiences and friends in a new location.

Flame Trotter's sister, Land Trotter the III, is acaring and very clingy foal pegasus. She's always looking for adventure, but most of the time she gets in over her head.

Last but certainly not least is Flame Trotter's little brother, Aqua Trotter the VII. Aqua Trotter is always in competition with his older brother and always seems to have the constant thought in his head that their mother and father have higher hopes for Flame Trotter than himself (which is true), and thus in an attempt to gain the same position in the family as Flame Trotter, he has become a sort of rival with his brother.

Cutie Mark Story - Flame Trotter's cutie mark is the exact opposite of his occupation. While his cutie mark to some symbolizes his love for speed, and also his personality as a hot blooded (and at times, hot-headed) Pegasus. In reality it symbolizes his intense love for all plants, so in some sense he would be considered a herbalist. He earned his cutie mark by discovering his knack for herbs and other plants. As stated before, Flame Trotter was motivated by his intense feelings to keep his family safe, healthy and secure. By finding a talent in being a herbalist, he finally found a sure-fire way that he could achieve such a goal, thus, gaining his cutie mark.

Flaws - Flame Trotter is quite the character when it comes to his flaws! He tries to be oblivious to them, but they are obvious to others and they are nonchalantly pointed out which makes him extremely angry. His main flaw is how terrible a flyer he is. Since he did not attend a flight school nor did he actually learn to use his wings beyond hovering or slow flying he doesn't know how to use them to their greatest extent. To overcome this he walks just about everywhere. When bored, Flame Trotter will begin randomly saying facts about crops to pass the time. Its sort of a habit and can happen anywhere at anytime, usually starting with his favorite fruit, apples. There are plenty other flaws that Flame Trotter has, from being socially awkward around otherpony's (otherponies?), to his scrap books full of plants and crops which he is always seen carrying around. While a strange pegasus, his flaws always seem to bring around interesting adventures and even more interesting ponies.

About a year ago my parents and I went on a holiday to the flinders ranges for a few days. It's a verrrry long drive to get there, so I loaded up my iPod with podcasts. One of these podcasts was the sceptics guide to the universe, with Rebecca Watson. Rebeca mentioned the show during a segment and spoke highly of it, and scorned the other hosts for not knowing about the show. I thought that it was just a silly show for little fillies, so I ignored it.

Skip forward a week or so and I was trawling the interwebz. For some reason Rebecca's comment came to mind, so I checked it outthe first clip that I saw was from "a dog and pony show", where rarity illustrates the difference between complaining and whining. The rest is history. Happy history, but history.

I've never heard of such a thing, a guide to the universe that mentions MLP ....?

Started watching it on the hub once I heard it would be replacing some other show. I was already in love with other kid cartoons and this one came in and over shone them all!
