  1. "Well, of course I love my job. I get to fly around! If I didn't like my job I wouldn't have this cutie mark. 'Sides, it's not like a talent. It's just something I reaaaaaaaaaaally love doing! So I'm super duper glad I get to do this for the rest of my life. Do you feel that way about your cutie mark?" Cloud Chaser inquired, peering closer at Val. She jumped into the air and did a little loop before coming back down to earth to hear what Val said next. "Lots is ponies say that! They think I'm sooooooooo cheerful, and some even asked if I was pretending to be happy but I think pretending to be happy is silly because that means you're not actually happy. When I'm not happy, which isn't very often, I want someone to know so they can cheer me up and I can be happy again!" Cloud responded with a little giggle. She kicked up her back hooves and splashed in the mud once more, spraying droplets every which way. Cloud blinked and tilted her head to the side as Val bowed and thanked her before giggling once more. "Oh, there's no need to be so formal! I'm just a normal pony, not like Princess Celestia or any pony like that! I always love to play games all the time. They make me so happy and sometimes I even get tired if I just played an especially fun game. That doesn't happen often, though!"
  2. "Oh, I usually travel alone too! But I don't kind because I know that when I get where I'm going I've gotta whole buncha friends who're gonna be super duper happy to see me. That's what I think about when I'm all alone, which isn't very often, actually. I'm usually talking to someone or playing with someone! That's my favorite thing to do. 'Sides my job, and I love my job!" Cloud Chaser replied, still bouncing slightly on her hooves. She grinned happily at Val, swishing her tail behind her and occasionally flicking her ears. Cloud was happy that she had some pony to talk to! She hated being alone. "Friends forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever!" Cloud Chaser exclaimed, tapping her hoof in the mud with each ever. She didn't seem to need to breathe for she never even paused. At his next comment, Cloud frowned. "Nothin' I can do for you? But I need to pay you back! How long are you gonna be around here? A long time or a short time? I guess if I can't return the favor while you're here, I'll just have to travel around with you. Ohhhh, that sounds like fun! Lots and lots and lots of fun," Cloud decided. It didn't matter if Val argued at that point. If she couldn't return the favor by the time he left, she was going to go with him. "Games are a lot of fun! Although I never hold back any energy. If I try to even stay still for too long I get all twitchy and then the energy just explodes out and I'm even more energetic then before!!!!!!"
  3. Cloud noticed Val staring at her and grinned cheerily at the stallion. She was still bouncing slightly, and although her wings were tight against her flank she had the appearance of being about to fly off. It was the way she radiated energy that could never be contained. It was a good thing Cloud Chaser had been born a Pegasus. She couldn't imagine not being able to fly to get some of her energy out. It truly sounded like torture to her. "Really? Maybe I've met some of them too! After all, I know lots and lots of ponies. That's another reason I like traveling. I can say hi to ponies I haven't seen in a while and that's always good. I never really miss my friends though because I always have a friend no matter where I go!" Cloud Chaser explained. She spread her wings and flapped once, rising a couple inches before dropping back down to the wet, squelchy earth. She giggled as her landing caused a spray of mud. "Yay! Now we're friends forever and ever! You can call me Cloud, and I hope you don't kind if I call you Val 'cause Valoren Eeker is kind of a mouthful. Anyway, you saved my life! Now I gotta repay the favor somehow.... Is there anything you need? Just say the word and I'll help you out!" Cloud promised with a firm nod. She smiled and let out an excited giggle. Cloud spun in a circle before stopping staring at Val again as he spoke about the hydra. She glanced off into the distance, then back with a wide smile. "Yup, you're probably right! Maybe I'll go play with him later. He was fun to play with. Do you like to play games?" Cloud inquired eagerly. ((Sorry I've been gone for so long! Completely forgot to check XP Anyway, I was thinking we could do the whole teleport with the amulet thingy in the next few posts.... Any ideas?))
  4. Cloud Chaser leaned over to peer at the pony that has saved her life. He was interesting looking and she certainly hadn't seen him around before. Cloud would've remembered a pony like him. In fact, she remembered all the ponies she met and he most definitely wasn't one of them. "Well, it's super duper nice to meet you, Valoren Eeker! If it had t been for you I probably would've splatted on the ground and that wouldn't have been nice or fun at all, but you caught so I'm it splatted! I'm not very sneaky. I'm much too loud to be sneaky and I laugh at everything so anyone can hear me coming," Cloud explained, rather unnecessarily. He had been there, and so had she. No one was getting any benefit from her ramblings, and he could probably already tell how loud she was. "Hard? I guess so, but I like to think of it as fun! I love my job and I get to go to exciting new places all the time, and I'm super good at Weather too. Even my cutie mark is a Weather one. See?" Cloud Chaser turned and lifted her wing slightly so Val could see the three clouds on her flank. Then she resumed bouncing around him in circles cheerfully. "Ohhhhhh, adventures! That sounds like lots and lots of fun. Do you make a lot of friends? I make new friends everywhere I go! That's the part I like best. Do you wanna be friends? Cloud paused at the end of her sentence and turned to Val excitedly. Luckily she was in front of him so she could stare into his face eagerly. She really loved having and making friends, and since Val had saved her life she really, really wanted to be his friend. Cloud Chaser blinked in surprise when Val's voice suddenly became mad. She had no idea what he was upset about. "What do you mean? The only time I was in danger was when I was falling and then you caught me. The hydra and I were playing tag! It was sooooooooo much fun and I think I won! Maybe that's why he left. Maybe he's a sore loser. Although he did tag me in the end, didn't he? Maybe he just got tired. I'm super duper energetic, so maybe I tired him out. I feel bad. Should I go apologize?" Cloud wondered. She glanced over to where the hydra had disappeared. Now that she thought about it, the hydra had seemed upset when it had walked off. Maybe she should go say sorry.....
  5. "Whooooooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Cloud Chaser was falling, yet she didn't seem to care. Instead she was yelling with excitement and waving her hoofs about. It was only when she glanced down and saws the rapidly approaching ground that she realized landing would not be as fun as falling. Perhaps she should tell someone that..... If she ever got the chance. Just as Cloud s certainnshe wasn't going to get that chance, she was once more snatched from the air. This time wasn't the hydra, however. Cloud let out a loud whoop, giggling as they landed. Then the Pegasus began to slide, holding her above his head. When the finally came to a stop, Cloud Chaser jumped down. Straight into the muck that the other Pegasus had just tried to save her from. She turned to her rescuer, determined to thank him. Then she saw he was covered in grass and dirt and mud. "You look sooooooooo funny!" Cloud giggled. She began to bounce up and down as she laughed, not minding the mud that was spraying up over her. It was only when her laughter had subsided that Cloud approached the pony. "Thanks for that! I thought I was gonna go splatty-splat, and then you swooped in like whoosh! And I was like whoa! And then I was like wheee! Then you got alllllll dirty, and so did I! 'Cept not at first. I'm Cloud Chaser, by the way. What's your name? What're you doing around here? I don't think I've seen you before. Are you a traveler? I travel a lot too, for work and stuff. I'm a Weather Pony! It's super duper fun! What do you do for fun?" Cloud was bouncing around and around the other Pegasus as she spoke. She had just bounced very high when the amulet flashed once more. When the light had faded, Cloud was hovering a few feet above the ground, her wings returned. She landed, then turned to the Pegasus again with a grin. "So, I've gotta do something to pay you back! You saved my life. Oh, where's my hydra friend?" Cloud suddenly recalled the monster she had been playing with. She glanced around to see it lumbering off into the distance. It had been a hard day for the hydra. It had had to chase prey far from it's home, it had gotten attacked, and no one seemed scared of it. Cloud waved goodbye to the hydra, grinning happily. ((Oh, that's fine! They'll probably get shorter as the RP goes on XD))
  6. Cloud Chaser glanced behind her at the hydra. It seemed to be slowing down and panting. Concerned for her new friend, Cloud slowed too. "Are you okay?" Cloud called to the exhausted hydra. The monster made one feeble swipe at Cloud Chaser before seeming to give up. Cloud let out a giggle and hovered directly in front of the hydras three heads. The monster glared at her, wondering what was wrong with the Pegasus. She didn't seem scared at all. In fact, she looked like she was throughway enjoying herself. The hydra knew this wasn't how hunts were supposed to go. The prey was supposed to be terrified and weaker then the hydra. So that the monster could grab it easily. But this flying pest just wouldn't slow down, and it's aerial maneuvers were giving all the heads a headache. Still, the hydra refused to be outsmarted by such a thing! Feeling much better after the short respite, the hydra bared it's teeth at Cloud Chaser. "Feeling better? Oh, that's good! I'm having so much fun that I don't wanna stop!" Cloud cheered. She looped once more, easily avoiding the hydra's claws, and took off. It was then that a speeding blur of color whipped by her. The speed sent Cloud Chaser tumbling down towards the forest below. Luckily she managed to land rather neatly on a tree branch. Cloud was about to take off again when she noticed something shiny on a branch just below her. Curious, as always, Cloud Chaser jumped down to inspect the glittering. An amulet was nestled in the crook where the tree branch met the trunk. Cloud stared at it for a moment, entranced by the pretty colors that seemed to dance across it's surface. She scooped it up with one hoof and took off, determined to show it to her hydra friend. When Cloud broke through the tops of the trees, she spotted a Pegasus dive-bombing the hydra. Cloud Chaser sped towards the Pegasus, wondering what game they were playing now. "What's going on over here?" Cloud called out with a little giggle. She glanced at the amulet on her hoof, then shrugged and slipped it over her head and around her neck. This kade it easier for her to fly towards the Pegasus. "Hello there! I'm Cloud Chaser and this is hydra. That's what I call him, 'cause he never his real name! What're you doing? Is it a game? Can I play?" Cloud Chaser asked eagerly. She was so distracted by the Pegasus and his fun game that she didn't notice the claw swooping in on her. The hydra grasped Cloud and brought her towards it's heads. One was occupied in fending off the other Pegasus, but the other two were grinning in triumph at having finally caught the little pest. "Oh, you finally got me! Guess I'm it now, aren't I? Although I don't know if we're still playing that game. That other Pegasus seems to want to play something else," Cloud smiled sweetly up at the hydra, who was staring blankly at her. The prey still wasn't screaming. The third head was having a bit of trouble with the Pegasus. The other two turned their attention away from the confusing creature in their grasp and attempted to snatch the other Pegasus out of the air. Unfortunately they forgot which claw was holding Clpud Chaser and released her to grab the other Pegasus. Just as the hydra let her go, a burst of bright, white light came from the amulet around Cloud's neck. When it faded away, Cloud Chaser's wings were gone. For a moment she hung there, almost comically, before she started plummeting to Equestria. ((Sorry it's so long!!!! They'll get shorter, I promise!))
  7. Cloud Chaser was flying. That wasn't surprising at all to anyone who had known her for more then five minutes. She was always flying. She loved flying. Flying was her job. At the moment, however, Cloud wasn't flying for work. She was in the sky out of pure pleasure. With a loud whoop Cloud looped around several clouds lazily. She let outna cheerful laugh as she righted herself, slightly dizzy, and began to descend. Cloud had been so absorbed in her aerial gymnastics that she hadn't noticed how far away from civilization she had gotten. She landed on a small dirt road that ran through a swamp and looked around. Everywhere was green and wet and muddy. Cloud's mouth immediately broke into a wide grin as she dove towards the puddles. She began to splash around, jumping up and down. She was laughing like a tiny foal, and playing happily. She was too busy to notice the creature approaching before a loud roar echoed over the massive marsh. Cloud Chaser whipped around, staring up at the three-headed monster. It's three mouths were snarling and growling at her. Cloud paused for a moment before grinning again and waving at the creature. "Hey there! You're big, aren't you? I'm certainly nowhere as big as you! Do you live here? I was just playing in the mud. Do you wanna play with me? Ohhh, I know! We can play tag!" Cloud squealed, jumping up and down excitedly. The hydra paused, confused at the lack of screams and running. Cloud hopped once, then flapped her wings and shot into the air. She swooped towards the hydra and poked his side. "Tag, you're it!" Cloud shouted. She turned and sped off, wings flapping swiftly as she stayed just ahead of the hydra. Now that she appeared to be fleeing it knew exactly what to do. With another loud roar the hydra gave chase, swiping at Cloud. She avoided the blows easily, giggling the whole time. She looped again, then did a dive towards the ground and pulled up only a moment before colliding with it. She sped towards the sky, dodging the hydra's fierce claws and even one of the heads as it snapped at her. With a cheerful yell Cloud turned and sped off again, leaving the hydra to lumber after her clumsily.
  8. Sorry 'bout that! I was just going through it quickly and doing some preliminary changes while I had the time and totally forgot about the cutie mark story. I did add more details though ^-^
  9. Not to be a nuisance, but I think I'm ready to be assessed, if you don't mind
  10. Really? I don't think I'd be able to proof read someone's work... I dunno, I'd just feel an insatiable urge to make it mine XD
  11. Thank you ^-^ Actually, I may have to take you up on that sometime
  12. Cloud chaser looked up as she trotted along the beach to see a pony jump in the air and send a frisbee spinning across the sandy beach. Immediately Cloudchaser spread her dark blue wings a d zipped into the air. She swooped on the frisbee, deftly catching it in her mouth. Cloudchaser looked around, searching for a new target. Deciding to just throw it randomly, Cliudchaser began to spin in circles. On her third rotation she released the frisbee and sent it spinning off, although she continued to spin dizzily. Cloudchaser let out a loud whoop. "Frisbee, coming your way!" Cloudchaser yelled to nopony in particular. She fell on her back, giggling happily and kicking her hooves in the air.
  13. Pinkie Pie all the way! I think that's partly from reading some fan fictions where she's hiding a deep inner evil, and then watching it and being like OH DEAR LORD IT'S TRUE!!!
  14. I'm pretty sure it was along the lines of "I can't believe I'm watching My Little Pony" Then I fell in love ^-^
  15. So, this is the first chapter of a story I'm working on. I also have a prologue, though I don't know if anyone needs it. Anyway, before putting this up on FiMFiction.net, I wanted to get somepony's opinions! So here it is, the first official chapter of The First Adventure: "Mooooooom, Celestia won't play with me!" the dark blue filly whined, dashing into her parents room. Her mother looked up, a soft smile gracing her kind features at the sight of her youngest daughter. "I'm sure she has her reasons, Luna dear," the Queen responded softly. Luna snuggled into her mother, peering up at her with large, puppy dog eyes. Luna always thought of her mother as beautiful. She had a long green mane that flowed and shimmered. Luna always hoped that someday her mane would become like that. Right now, however, she was distracted by thoughts of her sister shooing her away like a bug. "She does not! She's just being a meanie!" Luna pouted, flopping her hindquarters to the floor. "Now Luna, I'm sure your sister will play when she has time. Can't you find something to do by yourself?" a different, deeper voice came from the doorway Luna herself had entered just a minute ago. The filly looked up eagerly as her father trotted into the room. She looked more like him then her mother, what with the dark mane and fur. She jumped up and ran over to the King, slamming into his legs. "Now, Luna, don't hurt your father," her mother teased gently, slowly following her daughter to greet her husband. "Oh, Gaia, I think she broke my leg. I might not be able to make it to that banquet," Cronos groaned, collapsing to the floor in fake pain. "Oh, really? I suppose you won't be able to have any blueberry tarts then. Such a shame," Gaia sighed. "My my, would you look at that? I seem to be suddenly better!" the King replied in mock amazement. "It's a miracle," the Quuen said dryly. Annoyed at being ignored by her parents, Luna began hopping up and down in between them. "Mom, when will I get my cutie mark?" Luna asked, pausing for a moment to peer at her blank flank. Gaia glanced over at her husband before responding. "When you find out what makes you special, my little pony," Gaia said softly. Cronos trotted over to stand next to his wife and she leaned against him, letting out a sigh of contentment. Luna wrinkled her nose at the lovey dovey scene, but was soon distracted by the cutie marks on her parents flanks. Her mother had the entire world of Equestria and her father had an hourglass surrounded by stars. "So what do yours mean? What makes you special?" Luna asked, curious. She saw her parents share a look before answering her question. "We'll tell you someday, when you're older," her father said gently. Luna stuck out her tongue at him and was just about to retort when another voice interrupted them. "There you are, Luna. When you ran off earlier I was worried you'd get into some sort of trouble," Celestia sounded more like Gaia, soft and gentle. Luna took after Cronos more, in her coloring and tone of voice. "I don't need you to look after me Celestia. I'm not a baby," Luna said, turning her face away from her sister. Celestia rolled her eyes and trotted up to the trio standing there. "Sure, that's why you came whining to Mom and Dad when I was too busy to play with you," Celestia replied sarcastically. Luna hmphed and stuck her tongue out at her sister. "Not babyish at all." "Mom, tell Celestia to stop calling me a baby!" "Now, Celestia, be nicer to your sister." "But she was the one whining about it! She came here to rat me out!" "She just wanted to play with you," Cronos interjected, looking down at his daughter kindly. Celestia simply sighed, then turned to Luna with a look of defeat on her face. "What do you wanna play?" the white filly asked with another sigh. Luna immediately perked up, bouncing towards the door. Celestia followed at a more sedate pace, a grudging look on her face. "They are so much like you," Gaia murmured, watching her two daughters leave. The King and Queen turned away from the door and towards the window. "Oh no, I definitely see more of you in them. Or at least Celestia," Cronos quietly responded. The two leaned against each other in silence for a moment before Cronos broke it. "Shouldn't we tell them soon where we came from? They'll need to know," Cronos commented, almost absent mindedly as he stared out the window. "Let's just wait a little bit longer. They don't need to bear that load just yet," Gaia answered quietly, worry filling her gentle eyes. Cronos looked over at his wife and nuzzled her shoulder. "It will all be okay, I'm sure of it." Gaia smiled up at her husband and the two stood there in peaceful, companionable silence. Meanwhile, Luna was dashing through the hallways of the castle, followed by her slow moving sister. Several times the younger filly had to stop and wait for her older sibling. "Will you hurry up Celestia? At this rate it'll be nighttime before we even make it outside," Luna huffed in annoyance. "I thought you liked the night," Celestia replied, carefully keeping to the side of the hallway. Luna rolled her eyes at Celestia's caution. "Yeah, but Mom always makes me go to bed. We'll have no time to play. Now come ON!" Luna shouted the last word in frustration. Celestia paused for a moment to glare at Luna, before starting to walk again. She picked up the pace slightly, but still stuck to the wall like glue. She knew that as oldest sibling she'd be the one to someday rule, but she just couldn't get used to the idea. To walk dThat the middle of these halls and have everyone bow out of her way? To know that she owned this place, that she was one and only Queen? She didn't think she could ever do that. Maybe she could just let Luna rule instead. Luna had the confidence, and the energy, to be Queen. Celestia was just sure that somehow a mistake had been made, and that she wasn't meant to be Queen. "Finally," Luna groaned as they reached a door to a courtyard. She bounced through, squinting at the sunny sky. Celestia trotted through the doorway after Luna, luxuriating in the warmth the sun brought. Luna whirled on her sister, haunches up and grinning widely. Celestia sighed and rolled her eyes, fighting back a smile at her sisters playfulness. "Okay, you be the the damsel is distress," Luna directed. Celestia just shook her head before putting a hoof to her forehead. "Oh no, oh my! Ohhhhhh, will someone please help me!" Celestia wailed. Luna paused for a second to make a face at her sisters over the top acting before striking a heroic pose. "I shall save you, Princess!" Luna thundered. Celestia held back a giggle, but kept playing along. "Oh, but you could never defeat the ferocious dragon guarding me!" Celestia cried out in a high pitched voice. "Where is this slimy creature? I'll tear it apart piece by piece!" Luna shouted, glaring around for her 'enemy'. "Umm, I'd say r-right th-there!" Celestia gasped, dropping the falsetto, eyes widening. Luna stared at her sister for a moment before slowly turning. "C-Celestia, what's that?" Luna asked, her voice a whisper. She was talking about the shadow circling the sky. Celestia grabbed her sister's shoulder with one hoof and dragged her back towards the doorway. "Get inside now, Luna," Celestia directed, her voice hard. After a moment Luna turned and dashed inside, closely followed by Celestia. "W-What do we do?" Luna gasped, pressing against her sister as a troop of Guards rushed by. Celestia looked down at her terrified sibling and spread a wing protectively over her. "Let's go find Mom and Dad," Celestia murmured, trying to make her voice as soothing as possible. She began to slip down the halls, Luna sticking to her side and shaking like a leaf. As they walked Celestia kept murmuring to Luna, trying to keep her little sister calm. "Celestia? Luna?" Celestia looked around as she heard various voices calling out their names. A Guard stopped next to the two sisters, having obviously been sent out to search for them. "Come with me. Your parents wish for you to be escorted to a safe location," the Guard pony growled, his voice deep. But Celestia hesitated, glancing back to where she had heard her parents calling. "What about Mom and Dad? Where are they going?" Celestia asked. The Guard glanced around as more ponies hurried by, panic obviously overtaking the castle. "Your parents will be fine, now come along, Princesses," the Guard replied. Celestia turned away, however, and ran down the halls, pushing against the traffic. A loud roar echoed around the castle, followed by a scraping sound. Celestia glanced around to see Luna following her. "Luna, you go with the Guard," Celestia ordered. Luna shot her sister a glare and shook her head stubbornly. Celestia let out a sigh, but another roar let her know that there was no time to argue. Celestia turned and continued pushing through the crowd. Instinctively she made her way towards the Throne Room. Another roar echoed around the castle, shaking the stone walls. "T-there's a s-shortcut t-through there," Luna managed to stutter out, gesturing with a hoof towards a small servants corridor. Celestia glanced at her sister before shoving through the traffic to go through the corridor. It was deserted except for one or two servants rushing by. Celestia's and Luna's hoof steps echoed through the deserted hallway. "How do you know this is a shortcut?" Celestia asked, trying to keep the silence from engulfing them. "W-while you were s-studying I was ex-exploring," Luna replied, trotting ahead to show her sister which way to take in a fork. Suddenly another roar exploded through the tiny hallway, echoing and deafening the ponies. The two siblings glanced at each other in a panic before taking off in a full sprint, Luna taking the lead. Soon enough they reached a door. Sharing yet another panicked look, the two sisters hesitated. After a very long moment, during which they heard many grumbles from the other side of the door, Celestia pushed the door. It opened behind the thrones and Luna and Celestia peered through. The first thing they saw was their parents, standing side by side. "Mom! Dad!" Luna gasped out, immediately dashing through the doorway. "Luna, no!" Celestia cried, trying to stop her sister. Gaia and Cronos didn't seem to hear them, standing still and staring upwards. Luna froze in her tracks, following their line of sight. On the mountain just above the castle was a huge jet black dragon. Celestia screeched to a halt next to her sister, eyes wide as she stared at the dragon. It was so black it was like a vortex, swallowing all the light around it and it seemed to be talking to the King and Queen. "You knew this day would come. You couldn't hide from Him forever," the dragon growled. "You will not hurt these people. We will protect Equestria," Gaia replied, her voice strong. She and Cronos seemed to be glowing with an ethereal radiance. "M-mom?" Luna cried out, her eyes wide with panic. This time they seemed to have heard her. Cronos and Gaia looked around, surprise and then panic in their eyes. "You two shouldn't be here!" Cronos said. A very loud rumble came from the dragon, vibrating the floor of the Throne Room. He was laughing, although one couldn't tell by looking at his face. The features were as black as the rest of him, making his face a gaping mystery. "Children? You have children? Oh, this is too good. He will be happy about this. Two daughters? They are pretty," the dragons voice was filled with mirth. "Get out of here. Now," Cronos ordered his children, nearly growling at them. Luna stared up at her father, eyes filled with tears. "Daddy! What's going on? Who is that?" Luna asked, stepping even closer. "Luna-" Celestia started reproachfully. "No! I want to know what's going on!" Luna yelled, stomping a hoof as the tears spilled over. "As fun as this is, I must complete my mission now," the dragon interrupted. He struck at the castle, aiming at the two siblings. "No!" Cronos yelled, jumping in front of the claw. "Daddy!" Luna screamed. An explosion of light lit the room, making the dragon hiss and withdraw. Cronos was gone, leaving only Gaia, Luna, and Celestia standing there. Gaia seemed to be deflated, her shoulders down. The absence of her mate seemed to have sapped her strength. Celestia had tears running down her cheeks as she stood by her sister, spreading a wing over the young filly. "Oh, Gaia, listen to your children cry. There's nothing you can do to help them," the dragon taunted. Gaia looked up, glaring at her attacker. "You will not hurt them, Vortex. They, at least, will be safe," Gaia said, keeping her voice calm and level. She turned her back on Vortex and trotted to her two daughters. She bent her head to whisper to them. "I will distract him and you two will run. You will get out of here and you will go somewhere safe," Gaia ordered the two, "I love you." "Mom, what's happening? Who is this?" Celestia asked, finally speaking up. Gaia stared at her offspring, sadness in her eyes. "Go see Cloudchaser, in Manehattan. She will make it all clear," Gaia replied. She gently touched her horn to Celestia's shoulders. "Take care of your sister. I'm counting on you," Gaia murmured. Vortex let out another growl, impatience clearly getting the better of him. "Stop your whispering! Nothing will save them, or you, Gaia," Vortex snarled, raising his claw once more. Gaia closed her eyes and a look of fierce concentration came over her. Her horn began to glow and she spread her vast wings, shielding the two terrified fillies. Her eyes snapped open and they were white, pure white. Cracks began to spread over her body, light shining from them and flood the room. Vortex hissed and spat, but could not reach through the light. "Run, girls, run!" Gaia screamed. Tears streaming down her face, Celestia tugged Luna away from the scene and pushed her through the door. "Mom! MOM!" Luna cried out, desperately trying to get back to her mother. Celestia turned to shut the door and caught a glimpse of her mother shattering into pieces and a ghostly image of her floating towards the heavens before. Celestia's horn glowed and the door slammed shut on the scene. She turned towards Luna, who was crying silently now. "Where's the nearest exit?" Celestia asked, her voice firm. Luna simply shook her head, shoulders shaking and fear making her body freeze. Celestia stomped a hoof and stared angrily at her little sister. "Luna! Mom wanted us to be safe. We have to go, now!" Luna nodded and turned away, leading her sister through the servants halls. She had spent most of her time back here, exploring hidden ways to spy on people and escape. Although the escaping back then had been from her teachers and chores. The two sisters walked in silence, shock making them numb. Their parents couldn't be gone. It was all a cruel joke someone had decided to play. Any moment now they'd hear their mother laughing at one of their fathers jokes, or their familiar voices calling out their names. Luna stopped in front of another door, this one smaller and made of stone. "This leads to a path down the mountain, but after that I don't know," Luna muttered, horn glowing as the door opened. Celestia peered out to see a rocky path going straight for a few feet before abruptly dropping into a steep slope. She trotted out, keeping Luna back with a flick of her tail. She looked up and gasped, retreating quickly. Just above them was Vortex, staring into the castle. He seemed to be speaking to it's inhabitants. "Greetings, Ponies. I am your new King, and this is the start of a new age. I'd you want to live, you will obey me? For this is the age of Darkness!" Vortex roared, letting out a horrid laugh. He spread his wings and a shadow fell over the castle. But it wasn't a shadow, it was more like a pool of darkness, and it seemed to be spreading. It overtook the suns weak rays, even as it fell to let the moon come up and stars come out. But these lights too were blown out, as easily as if they were a candle. Soon the heavens were completely black. "Celestia?" Luna whispered, peering into the complete darkness. There were a few pinpoints of light coming from candles in the castle, but she couldn't see her hoof in front of her face. Suddenly a glowing came directly in front of her and she let out a sigh of relief. It was Celestia, lighting the way with her horn. "Come on, Luna. We have to get out of here," Celestia directed, turning away from her sister and starting down the path. Luna paused to look back up at the castle. There as nothing left for her there, nothing at all. "Goodbye." The whispered word was all that was left on the tiny ledge, filled with pain and confusion, but also determination. A determination to find this Cloudchaser and find their parents biggest secret.
  16. That exact same thing happened to me! Twice, actually. I don't learn from my mistakes too well.... Heh heh
  17. I just posted an application for Cloudchaser. You can use her, if you want! That is, if you still want ponies
  18. Name: Cloud Chaser Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Pelt Color: Dark Blue (#00008B) Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Sky Blue(#87CEEB), wavy, and neat Eye Color: Denim (#1560BD) Cutie Mark: Three clouds Physique: Slim, wiry, and delicate looking Origin: Manehattan Roleplay Type: Mane RP Occupation: Weather Pony Motivation: Loves to fly around with the clouds, either clearing the sky or creating a storm. Likes: Flying, clouds, smiles, and making friends Dislikes: Anger, sadness, frowns, and making enemies Character Summary: Cloud Chaser was born in Manehattan, into a family of highly ranked social elites. Originally her name was Amber, but she changed it later. She lived her younger life in a world of fake smiles and polite chitchat, and she hated it. She was constantly rebelling against her stiff parents by mingling with the 'common folk'. Although she came from a family of Pegasi, flying was seen as something one did as a necessity. Only working ponies, like the Weather Ponies, flew of their own accord. They hired other ponies to fly them around in chariots. Cloud Chaser was constantly disgracing her family by flying with the working ponies, playing around. One day one of the Weather Ponies was sick and she volunteered to step in. A huge storm was brewing, but none had been planned. It was the result of some lazy work by a few other Weather Ponies. Cloud Chaser was the only pony in the sky during that shift and the huge clouds were approaching. She felt a rush she had never experienced the likes of before, and began to fly faster then she ever thought she could. Cloud Chaser managed to round up all the clouds into one corner of the sky before clearing them all in one fell swoop. That was when she realized her destiny and got her cutie mark. She also officially changed her name to Cloud Chaser. After that Cloud Chaser was completely shunned by her parents and family as a disgrace to the family. She managed to scrape out a living, going from the upper-class to the lower-class in Manehattan. Since there isn't much work to be had she tends to travel around a lot, to wherever she can find work. Cloud Chaser enjoys her life now, much more then before. She is always happy and never gets mad or upset or jealous. It is very rare to see her sad, and she keeps a very positive outlook. Also, Cloud Chaser is a bit of a silly pony and a ditz. She can't really read social cues well, and can't tell when someone is uncomfortable or unhappy with the conversation. She's messy and loves to talk. She has an amazing talent to spout out a minutes worth of talking without taking a breath, and Cloud Chaser loves to fly. Although she isn't much into winning and losing, she does enjoy racing for the pure pleasure of flying fast. Although since her main job as a Weather Pony is to take care of the clouds she doesn't really fly fast a lot, she's surprisingly speedy. She is a good sport, whether she's first or not.
  19. I love that second one! It sounds like a Pinkieism Here's a few: One day Equestria will be destroyed Celestia's magic power was slowly diminishing
  20. Thank you! I'll be sure to check those out, especially the rules and writing.
  21. Thank you! I think I will like it, so far it seems pretty awesome. I hope to make lots of friends here.
  22. Cloudchaser folded her dark blue wings as she gently settled onto the sand. She looked around and saw a number of odd things. A pony was running away with a frisbee, being chased by a unicorn who was putting up a rock wall, and a different pony was reading a book and had a red mark on his face. Why was the beach such a mess of activity? She always had a walk on the beach, but it was mostly deserted when she did. Shrugging, Cloudshaser trotted down the beach just by the ocean. She passed the book reading pony, accidentally splashing up some seawater as she did so. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to splash you," Cloudchaser paused to apologize to the pony reading the book. She smiled apologetically, hoping she hadn't annoyed him.
  23. Thanks! The irc channel? Is that the chat room? I'm sorry, I'm just not familiar with everything just yet.
  24. Thank you! I hope so too. As I look around, everyone seems so nice. It's refreshing.
