  1. Could lightning really strike twice?

Actually, it strikes more than twice in the same place. It just happens at a blink of an eye. :blah:

In all seriousness though, yes; I don't think that any watchable reboot of a girl's franchise show will be as successful as FiM, but that doesn't mean it won't come close. Besides, (and sorry if this sounds like an insult), but Hasbro and The Hub knows that bronies are picky, and they HAVE asked iconic bronies to help promote their pony based things both show wise and merch wise before.

  2. You saw what happened with Pound Puppies (or you didn't, but I did).

I love the Pound Puppies reboot! I wish more bronies put more recognition into it.

Adding something to the subject, I don't think there would be any social barrier between bronies and any new similar fandom. If anything, I think the majority would embrace it, and be well associated with it.

  3. I thought about this a little while ago. What if perhaps other franchises pick up on the charm and overall success of MLP FiM, and learn from them? For example, what if Barbie was to have a reboot, and give character quality to all of Barbie's friends, have Ken be something other than just a bland boy toy, and even have episodes dedicated to him and HIS friends? Would you watch said show, and do you think it would affect the MLP franchise at all?

I honestly would like to see some potential in another rebooted girl's franchise (Strawberry Shortcake needs to be rebooted QUICK ) , as well as franchises that have similar charm to FiM.

On a sidenote, sorry if the title seems a bit misleading I used 'trend' for a lack of a bettor word. '^^

  4. I freaking loved Story of The Blanks! I went into the game completely blind with no knowledge of it when I was browsing on Newgrounds, and I sure was into a surprise! At first I was impressed by how accurate the NES technology restriction was. Having previous experience with NES hacking, It was nice to see that it had an accurate NES style to it (which is hard to come by IMO). Another thing I liked about the game was the music. The Everfree Forest music sounds to damn peaceful. <3 I used to listen to it all the time. The twist at the end truly unnerved me quite a bit, and the overall experience of 8-bit pony creepiness was great for me.

  5. For one, moderators should be punished for not fuffilling their duties adequately.

Posting a topic about a user, and how he or she should be dealt with, and having no response out of a staff of around 6 is unacceptable.

Two, give honest, answers to users.

Keeping things secret of what goes behind doors just alienates the users, and only makes things worse when the overall quality of the comunity and service of the staff plummets.

Three, give the community some responsibility, and trust.

If there is no such user, then offer, and teach a select few to become a moderator, and give them a boost, and defend along side when the community fights.

With Renae, for example, she is constantly criticized for unfair reasons, and because of a lack of debation skills, she has been unable to defend herself, and others, and thus not fufilling her job as a moderator.

If such moderator is having trouble fufilling her duties for flaws that is not his her fault, then an admin should put care to his or her staff just as he would the entire website.

    I was criticizing an admin of another forum how he manages it, and wrote a lengthy post (messenger wise) saying what he should do. I copy pasted it on a notepad for future reference. Mind the spelling and grammatical errors. This was between a friend and I. ^^;

  6. Admittedly, haters do bug me. I just tend to avoid them. However, the people who bug me more than haters are the bigoted, intolerant, short minded bronies that simply hopped on the bandwagon solely because of everypony else started liking the show. Thankfully, I don't come across too many of these bronies. I've only had to deal with one or two of the sort.

On topic, the two instances when haters bugged me the most was when one hater went all out, and threw a fit when people in the community of the forum I used to go on started talking about the show, and that teen's react video.

  7. This is a really good tutorial, both Rosewind and SteelEagle bring up really good advice. Honestly, the only bad thing that came out of coming out of the closet about my broniness was my brother constantly making fun of me about it in the most annoying manor, though my brother was a jerk to begin with. The rest of my family was completely fine with it. I even got some pony 'merch for Christmas. :D

We as a community are a product of an idea to change "the rules" surrounding animated entertainment, something that has never happened before on the scale it has. Just by watching FiM, you're making history, along with thousands of others! Feel proud of yourself for that, and challenge "the rules" in real life too.

On a side note, that made me feel really good about myself. :)

  8. I personally think there's a 50-50 chance of Hasbro making the right choice for our demographic in the future. Worst case scenario (IMO) is that they attempt to move our audience to a newly made franchise, and cancel FiM. The best case scenario is that they embrace what large yet unusual demographic they already have on their hands, and take advantage of it, making sure they give us what we want in an alternative that benefits both them and us the most, and thus making us both happy. An OST and a DVD box set in about two years seems the most likely if they were to take the better route.

  9. ^I would be surprised too. Hasbro's products have never been exactly genderless IMO. All of the products I've seen from them have been either one way, or the other.

Still, just because it isn't genderless doesn't mean it won't be good. However, if the quality of the game were equal to the quality and faith of MLP LIVE, then I would be miffed admittedly.

  10. My first exposure to Gen 3 MLP was when I was a bigoted 7 year old child, and obviously, my initial response was hatred. However, my first exposure to Gen 4 MLP was way more mature, as I was twice that age upon first seeing a bit of it in November of 2010. I unfortunately dismissed it at the time. However, it wasn't because of it being a girl targetted to little girls. It was more because of how little information of it was given to me. You see, my first exposure of it was when I grew curious about the new Hub channel, and decided to check it out. When I first went to it, I was met with a little intro of the Hub after a show coincidentally ended. The intro consisted of mainly the Hub logo flying around, and passing by the cartoon characters that were featured in their programming.

One of the programming being My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. The first two ponies I saw from that intro was Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy. From what I remember, the Hub logo flew past Fluttershy, startling her, and then hid itself behind Twilight Sparkle so she didn't see what had startled her. It was an act of mischief.

It wasn't until nearly 3 months later on January 24th, 2011 did I first watch the show, and I loved it.

  11. I think you should just enjoy what you enjoy and not say anything (or try to hide anything). Let him bring it up if he's curious about that cartoon you're watching -- no need to have a sit down discussion about it, yanno?

^This. I let my dad ask me about it after he saw me with a Fluttershy shirt. The confrontation went well, and two months later, he decided to sit down and watch an episode with me.

  12. I want Hasbro to overall up their standards with their toy line. As in, make Princess Celestia the color she's supposed to be, discontinue the baby ponies they currently have, produce the cake babies that were shown in the show, and overall improve their toyline in quality and accuracy to the show. Until then, I'm not going to ask much from them. I have very little faith in how much they care about their new demographic. The most I ask for now is a box set, but right now they've been releasing five episodes at a time, which seems like a money grabber to me.

When I look for quality merchandise, I see what the fanbase has to offer, regardless how expensive they might be.

  13. Did you read? XD

Sorry, you said it was ironic so...

I would have if I had to stay at the hospital for a few days. I probably would've brought the book that I am currently reading with me if I had thought about it though.

Speaking of that, I think I might go ahead and continue reading on that book.

  14. Four wheeler accident. I intersected the gravel driveway, lost control of the vehicle, and bumped into my sister's car, thus flinging me foreword, and hit my right arm hard against the handle bars. Thankfully, I only hit the tire of the car, so I didn't make a dent. It left a dark rubber smudge, however.
