Canterlot already keeps a copy of partially written posts. I've used it many times to recover RP posts I've typed when I clicked a link by accident or something. When you type into the text box, you'll see a little dialog at the bottom that says "Last auto saved:" and a time. You can often use that link to recover lost posts.

Quickie question: If your original character already has an approved WoE application, like Lovinity Hearts, do they still have to file a CC application (basically just a copy of the WoE application) in order to role play? I wanted to double check even though you have mentioned original WoE approved characters were allowed.

Those characters that have already been accepted in WoE are allowed to be played in CC. If you plan on making changes to the character, however, its advisable to re-app the character in CC with the changes you wish to make. FFA character apps are not accepted for CC.

Ice, are you connecting from a school internet connection? Work? If so, the firewall is likely blocking you from the port to connect to IRC, like Autumn said before. I work in a high school, and am unable to connect to the IRC server through the Mibbit client on Canterlot, because the port is blocked. I know Autumn set up one port to allow people to bypass that block, but I can't access my IRC client at work to check the settings.

Yep, what BBB said. "RP Certified" means that you have submitted an application for the World of Equestria RP section and have been approved to post there and in the WoE OOT section. If you are not in that group, you can read those sections, but can not post. Canterlot has members who only RP in the Free-for-All section, or don't RP at all. We welcome all types of fans.

Hi Cinnabonbons! This is a question that comes up pretty often here. To really answer it, though, I need to know which RP section you want to play in. In the Free-for-All (FFA) section, the tech can be as advanced as you want it to be. (Or as high as the players in a particular RP want it to be.) We don't put any restrictions on technology or magic there, and you don't need an application to RP there.

However, in our World of Equestria (WoE) RP setting, we keep a pretty low technology level. That means no computers, no space travel of any kind (unless you count Luna's time in the moon...) We do this to keep the the technology from being a focus; we want the characters and the relationships between the characters to be the focus. For the same reason, we limit magical artifacts and super-powerful spells. This also means that some of the technology that we have seen in the show wouldn't be allowed in WoE. Things like hydroelectric dams, arcade games, and Twilight's 'computer' wouldn't be allowed.

Now, in the near future, there will be a third RP section that will be more restrictive than FFA, but not as strict as WoE. More advanced tech and magic will be allowed there, but you'll need an application accepted to RP there.

Well, now the animators have adopted the muffin thing, looking at Derpy's appearance in the credits of Equestria Girls. And I never said I disliked Derpy, I just don't understand why she's such a big deal in the fandom.

I really don't care about Derpy. I mean, its fun to spot her in the episodes, kind of like the old 'Where's Waldo' books, but that's it. When I see people list her as one of their favorite characters, I just think 'How can that be? She doesn't HAVE a character!' All we know about her is she is accident prone... that's it. The thing about being a mail pony is something that was completely made up by the fans, and has never been in the show.

When Canterlot was founded, there was an official IRC chat channel, and an official RP channel. While we did have members log into the IRC for live roleplaying, the official canon room was rarely used. Most of the chat RPers preferred to set up their own rooms where they could set their own rules. Now, Canterlot has its own hosted chat, and no official connection to an IRC server.

I know that some people like chat RP better than forum RP, but Canterlot isn't set up to support and monitor an official chat RP. If you wanted to set up your own chat rps, and privately invite members, that would be fine, but anything that happened in those chats would be up to you to police and monitor.

Ok, in the upper right corner in Chrome, you should see a wrench or spanner icon, or an icon with 3 parallel lines. Click there, then click settings. Scroll down to find 'Show Advanced Settings" and click there. Under Privacy, click the button that says 'Clear Browsing Data.' Click the drop-down in the pop-up and set it to 'the beginning of time' then click 'Clear browsing data.' Restart Chrome after tat to make sure, then Chrome should update with the right picture.

Sounds like you need to clear your browser cache. Web browsers save pictures on sites you visit frequently so it doesn't have to download the whole thing each time. Sometimes it will get stuck, and keep displaying an old picture. I see your correct avatar. What web browser are you using?
