  1. I find it hard to make my own decision.

Who pushed the crystal empire into the bid? How much of the possible disappointment is in Dash's head? She was the only one to cry out in anguish at the Cloudsdale ceremony. Perhaps it is she taking it too seriously rather than it actually being a terrible loss? The crystal ponies are basically just along for the ride, and that is where I struggle. They haven't invested anything so why would they be disappointed?

  2. To clarify:

I received a PM this morning, but no notification of it. A note in a thread led me to believe that I should have one so I clicked on the letter icon and there was a new message right at the top. The other PMs I have received lately (including today), save two, have all notified me properly. The only pattern I have noticed is that it is always a brand new PM, rather than a reply.

    Possibilities...

You're receiving a message that is deleted before you have a chance to view, but still showing there's one ready to view.

Your cookies are borked or blocked

    Check your personal notification settings.

The sender tells me that they did not delete the message

Cookies are not blocked, but could be borked

It seems that it is not even possible to deselect messenger notification.

Is "Autumn" permanent? I kept expecting to see "Artax" return eventually.

  3. Three times in the last two months I have received PMs but the messenger envelope was not highlighted.

Clicking on the envelope still showed a brand new message that I had not seen yet, but I had to be told that I had received it in board posts. Anyone else having notification problems? Most of the time the system works fine.

  4. Wow. This was awesome. I think I liked it more than #1. Both Cook and Price killed it in this issue. All the creatures Price drew looked great and his ponies remain delightfully expressive. Meanwhile Cook wrote every character engagingly, stuffing the whole book with great moments and very funny dialog.

This is the strongest issue yet. It is the one that ended my doubt about the series.

Chrysalis stole the show though this issue. Seriously, I love how Cook has spun her characters. It was there in the episode; she was this big, grandiose and arrogant villain who went so far as to sing about her schemes. Having her make constant sarcastic quips, order her minions around and be delightfully cruel to cute little animals all fits her so very well. We have here an excellent expansion of her character.

And artfully done too! It was a good choice to eat the kittens love off camera, and show us the carnage through the expressions of the CMC.

Also, I seriously love Sweetie Belle.

I presume because of the "aw, well miss if she breaks into song!" comment? : )

  5. I didn't say the magazine was fake. I think the information in the magazine is questionable, so the video proving the magazine exists doesn't do anything for me.

Hasbro has also sumitted copyright requests for the show name, as well as some consept products that go along with it.

Hasbro has submitted two copyright requests with no pictures, that I could find. Do you have a source for the concept products?

  6. It's not a rumor. It's an official press release at the Toy Fair.

It isn't a press release as I understand it. A press release comes from the parent company, and is distributed to MANY outlets for them to cover the material.

Read the artical. I wouldn't post just a fake or speculated image.

I read what I could of the article. But only the one page? Is the rest of it available? I'd never heard of that magazine. It doesn't have a wikipedia article, and searching their site doesn't bring up that particular article. What is the reputation of "kidscreen"? Are they a big deal? A self-described total circulation of less than 13,000 issues seems like small potatoes to me. Are they really the best source for Hasbro to release information to regarding new shows?

Furthermore, where did thoset Hallway and Trixie pictures come from? It could easily have been drawn by any one of many talented MLP trolls. Heck, it could have been poached by a non-tallented troll from any of the image depositories as far as I know. Even ED calls them speculation, since they were unable to track down the sources.

Note that while the article references "Arnesen" (presumable Finn Arnesen, Hasbro's executive VP of international distribution and development), and has much information from him regarding Hasbro properties, the line regarding the spin off isn't a quote from him, nor is it attributed to him...it is just near a quote from him calling MLP a "top priority".

I'm not saying it is absolutely fake, but it seems fishy to me. Patience is probably warranted.

its hardly a rumor anymore. its been released in an official magazine.

    Tabloids are official magazines too.

  7. I think that you weesh still haven't seen what I have seen in terms of complanining. AKA I have had, not by choice, 4 hour long 'talks' with people about why they hate/love/uber-love the show. Its never pretty.

Perhaps, but I am not oblivious to what is going on this season. Nor am I inexperienced with long rants on other subjects. My sister is a low-key brony that I introduced to the show, and ran across another guy wearing a pony shirt and stopped him to chat. He apparently did nothing but complain about the direction of the show. Why wasn't he excited to be stoped by another brony? I don't get it.

Lets set an example of positivity, and keep complaining tones out of our analysis of an episode, even when the analysis is harsh.

  8. Yeah thats all I am saying is that people take this way to far! And I know that it is not everybody, but when half my facebook feed are serius bashings on this new show and season 3. It kinda screams over the top to me.

    Oh.

People complaining about the quality of a show that is clearly catering to another demographic is the problem then?

I am somewhat annoyed by the complaining myself, but for a different reason. Complaining in general is annoying. Can't was just express our disappointment in a show without whining? I this it is fair to be disappointed (if you consider season 3 poor), since the show has delighted us for a year or more depending on when we discovered it.

  9. LOL, I too have been chastised for posting things in the forum that were not spam. You'd think that anything could go here, but apparently serious discussion isn't welcome!

The show was made to be enjoyed by little girls specifically but to also be of very high quality so that others could enjoy it as well. I have no illusions that this was designed for 28 year old guys, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a great show. Furthermore, we ARE an acknowledged part of the audience as seen in the repeated official use of Derpy in and out of show.

There is something to your post though. Everything must be in moderation, and it is not hard to go overboard on this material.

  10. If I have one bone to pick with the series, it is that some of the expressions on the pony's faces have poor aesthetics. Specifically "fear" and "shock" but many others as well. There are too many lines drawn, and characters that should be cute even when they are terrified are not as such. Some of the expressions, like "exasperation" and "annoyance" are very close to the line, but still ok.

  11. That feel you cant tell Tom Cruise from Brad Pit and don't really care cause they aint Kevin Durrand or Paul Bettany XD

I was surprised that you didn't know the difference between those first two...but I had to google both of those other guys.

  12. Any-ways I see no sense on your question weesh, Movies that I must watch, but don't want to?

I think you are missing the key here. Movies that, for whatever reason, are entertaining or worthwhile for the first viewing, but would not be so for the second.

  13. Anyway one movie I suggest you see once:

    The Room

    Yup that one

Which one? There are several movies of that name.

I thought of another category: Fun, fast-paced action movies of little substance and great fridge logic.

Many of the James Bond Films fit this.

  14. Really? I rather liked the Changeling Mane 6 cover..And one I got stuck with is very pretty, and it looked like something Mary Blair would have done, if she were still alive and drew ponies. And it's nice to see Twilight eventually learned how to skate. The other covers were pretty nice as well. But nowhere near as cool as the ones we're getting for #4.

In retrospect, I might have gone with the edgier and more creative version.

However, I got to the comic shop with no idea what covers existed, and I don't make quick decisions well. So I just decided to let cuteness prevail. I am not disappointed. Both are FAR superior to the spider covers from last month.

  15. Taco, no wonder I felt like I was talking to myself, I had thought that had your issue in hand before I did.

Looks like it. I just got my copy in the mail today. And I didn't get the cover I wanted! Boo!

I got the cute one with Pinkie and Twilight cover. Wanted the cover listed above.

I saw both, and decided to go with the happy looking cover. I wasn't impressed with either.

And seriously...did the Changeling Queen just eat (or kill) a kitten right in front of three little girls? That is some major evil right there...

Seems like it. It is not clear what consuming the love looks like but it was certainly horrifying to the CMC.

Also, the costumes Pinkie has. Is it me, or do they remind me of those American FIM plushies they have in stores? With the noodle hair?

If that was on purpose, that was a low blow! And quite funny!

If there is no connection, then it was a lame part of the issue, which is ok because they did so much of the rest of it right.
