"Oh thank you thank you thank you," Fire Heart squealed with delight at the thought of getting a mentor who knew spesifically about fire magic. Now she could learn basic magic at the university and fire magic from Bonfire. Suddenly her fire magic activated again due to her excitement. "Oops. Sorry. It'll die down eventually. But yeah, Wednesday is great. I don't have many classes on Wednesday. I'll be there. Oh this is so exciting!"

She then turned to Firework who was watching the conversation unfold. "Did youhear that Firework? I got a mentor to help with my fire magic!"

(OOC: Time to add in a little madness.)

With all the ponies in the library now, Guiding Light knew that the dragon had his hands full. The unicorn knew that if he was to get the answers he was looking for, he'd have to be patient. Now all he had to do was find a way to occupy his time, and what better way to do so than read!

As the dragon was talking to other ponies, Light began to wander the library looking for his first book to read. There were so many to choose from this was going to be easy to find a book but hard to find exactly the right one.

He weaved his way through the ponies there, trying to find his perfect book. There it was, on the highest shelf, was a book called Advanced Magical Spellcasting. Light knew there had to be something in there relating to illusion magic. The trick was how to get it down.

Light focused his magic on the book, trying to get it down telekinetically. He slowly began to wiggle the book closer towards the edge. Suddenly Light didn't realize the true weight of the book and the book immediately dropped like a stone on Light's head. "Ouch, that didn't go as well as planned. Maybe I should work on my telekinesis too." Now he had a book to read.

Well I believe in ghosts. Had some ghostly experiences happen to me.

I sort of believe in aliens. My idea is there must be some life out there in the universe besides what's on Earth. Not I don't think they're the Little Green Men in flying saucers, but who knows?

The point is there's lots of things that cannot be explaines, so I keep an open mind.

My goal: Work on my novel. (Already doing that).

I've decided to get a Bamboo Create. The trick is to see how well it will work with GIMP.

This will definitely give my art more of a polished look by smoothing the curves and such.

A young white pelted unicorn entered the Carosuel Boutique, a little unsure of himself. It wasn't that he looked lost, but he looked like he never set a hoof into the shop in his life. He lloked around the shop, trying to get a sense of the place. There were several dresses on pony shaped mannequins, a dressing room, a few dresses that were in progress, and other things. Guiding Light wondered if he was in the right place as everything seemed to be for fillies and mares.

Yet his concern was calmed as he saw two male ponies there. One appeared to be a fisherpony type. The other looked... different. He certainly didn't have the look of being in Ponyville. He had a rich almost royal look, maybe from Canterlot.

Guiding Light then saw Sweetie Belle talking to the royal looking pony. He had to be careful what he said. He didn't want to spoil the party Pipsqueak was planning, and he certainly didn't want to spill the fact that Pipsqueak was head over hooves in love with the unicorn.

Light waited until Sweetie Belle was finished with the unicorn stallion, plotting how to go about getting a suit for him for this party.

Well royalty would have to hear from committees, pass laws, attend social gatherings, attend peace treaties, maintain a royal image in all things, see to the affairs of all of Equestria, raise and lower the sun, deal with disputes between the three pony types, etc.

Hmm... who to pick out of my OCs?

I think I'll go with Sky Flare and Guiding Light for starters.

Note that Guiding Light is a colt, so his would be more of a school crush thing.

On the education piece. It seems that there is a primary school in Ponyville, but up to what grade is a question (middle school, high school).

There is one university, but it seems spesifically for magical studies.

I'm thinking of it like a guild system back in medieval times. Say a person wanted to learn how to bind books. They would apprentance at a bookbinding guild with a master and then after training rise from the apprentance position. Same I think is happening in the canon. After all, Equestria does seem mostly medieval with a splash of Victorian, Western, and modern.

Wow! really interesting idea. I'd love to see how this turns out.

So I have been drawing for two months now.

My art is (at least I think) good, but not up to the calibur of many of the artists I favorite on Deviant Art.

What I am seeing is that many artists are using Photoshop with very few using GIMP.

Call me paranoid, but is using GIMP a bad idea? Is it hindering the potential of my art?

I know art is mostly practice, but I'm wondering if the tool I'm using is hindering things.

Interesting thing I noticed was how the show changed from Season On to Season Two.

For example, in Season One almost all of the mane six were in an episode, but in Season Two the episodes usually have only two or three of the six.

From season one to season two we have seen an evolution with the characters. Fluttershy is less frightened by things, Rarity is not complaining as much, Pinkie Pie is seen as very responsible,etc.

We also saw Twilight downgraded from the leader of the mane six to on an equal hoof with the others. Hopefully her character development will be as much as the others as there hasn't been much other that in Lesson Zero.

This is for a possible thread in the future with my colt, Guiding Light.

While I don't want to give too much away, I can say that Light is looking for a special somepony, so light schoolyard crush romance is involved.

Even if you have a character that isn't into romance, please let me know as you can be a pony to say no to Light (not all fillies after all will like him).

So let me know if you have a filly in ponyville and you are interested in a thread like this.

The Last Unicorn is Awesome!

Saw Gone last weekend. It was a good suspense thriller, but just a little too predictible. Maybe it's because I watched too many thriller movies before.

Let me challenge that. Be honest. If you had seen the new version first, would you really have noticed? Imagine if afterwords, they changed it to the boy derpy voice. Then what? Probably the same thing if you ask me.

You could change any scene in any episode about anything in FiM. It doesn't matter how much better it may be, people will complain.

Understand I'm not complaining. Because I have seen both, I can see and hear a difference. But you're right. If someone heard the new version, it isn't horrible.

I definitelt agree that the edit was thrown together. The conversation between RD and Derpy does not seem very fluid. It was clear that this was a last minute decision to do the edit. This leads me to believe that it was very unplanned, and therefore thrown together.

All in all I'm waiting for the official word about Derpy. As for the panicing, I'm not entriely sure. On Deviant Art I saw tons of Save Derpy art last weekend when this was announced, but lately things seemed to have cooled off. There are still some art and writing pieces relating to saving Derpy still being made.

I agree that right now we have tons of speculation fueled by emotion. I heard everything from "It's just for that one episode and Derpy will remain as she is for the rest" to "They're planning on cutting Derpy from the series period" to "Oh noes! Hasbro hates bronies!"

All in all these are just speculation.

The problem is that speculation is starting to lead to drama. We must be careful not to exchange passion of a character for Hatred and Intolerance.

So if you want to write to Hasbro or Studio B or whoever concerning Derpy or anything else, don't send hate mail. Simple as that.

In the meantime, I'm waiting to see the official word from Hasbro.

I had many cases where either a thread I was in died or if i started one no pony ever posted. At first I was upset and was going all Pinkimena about it ("Oh no! My friends don't like my RP and don't want to be friends anymore), but then I realized that things happen and sometimes posts shut down.

Anyway, I would assume that ponies (except the Big Mac style and Princesses) are about the size of normal real life ponies which reach up to about 3-4 feet give or take. This would fit with the G1 (shudder) scaling as well. Granted in G1 the kids of course were a little taller than the ponies as they were kids rather than full grown adults. As for the princesses/ Big Mac, they would probably be more horse sized.
