1. I use Mozilla Firefox which doesn't have any issues with updating things. IE seems to be the worst for it.

Your log title seems short enough but you still can't enter it. The only thing I can think is maybe something isn't recognizing the fact you have a log, a glitch not on your Control Panel function but your Log. Perhaps you should make a second Log as a test and see if you can ad that.

  2. Watermelon spotted a pony who paused near her stand. The filly couldn't understand why the mare just stared at her and the stand. After all, why would anypony second guess buying a watermelon or anything from an adorable filly? The mare then approached but again seemed surprised, this time at her! It took a while but the filly knew it was useless to resist the power of the Princess of Watermelons as she sometimes thought of herself as.

"Hi there! I'm Watermelon Gush! Welcome to my stand!"

The filly then realized that she made an error. While she was successful in building her stand, helping transport the melons, and use her powers of cuteness, she forgot to give the melons a price! Although she was comfortable charging one prince, she knew that like other fruit her family sold size mattered. The bigger the cantaloupe or pumpkin, the higher the price. Typically the fruit was classified into three price sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Thankfully the melon that the mare pointed to was a Large and therefore the highest price but that didn't help!

As the filly fretted that her selling would be over before it started, she got an idea.

"Wow! You picked a big one! You'll be having melony goodness for several days. Not that anything's wrong with that. For that one it's eight bits."

She smiled and waited, hoping that the price was right.

  3. Heart Healer could tell much about a pony from how they spoke, what they said, and the actions that they did. It was an innate gift to read their emotions but also a skill honed by her studies in psychology.

She could tell that this mare was very unsettled. She couldn't even sit still when speaking to the psychologist, preferring to move around. Also, from the incident with the bell, she could tell that the pony always needed something to do or else get bored very quickly. She could see that the pony had a drive to be successful yet wondered if the mare pushed herself too far. There was also the issue about being independent with finding a job and moving out eventually and a hint of looking for romance in her life. Clearly there were several things to cover, and Heart endeavored to tackle each one at a time.

"Well, I can see you have many things going on in your life Miss Star. Let me first ask about your training as it seems that it takes up a large portion of your life. How much time do you spend in a day training? Do you find yourself getting very tired tired during the day? Do you take time to do things other than working and training and of course eating and sleeping?"

  4. Hello again!

Upon reviewing the application with other Helpstaff members, you will need to alter the part about Short Circuit working on the lightning machine. Lightning occurs naturally in Equestria rather an machine infusing a cloud with electricity. However there are things that your character can work on like the device that absorbs water like in the episode Hurricane Fluttershy. She can also be a cloud engineer, making sure the structural integrity of the cloud city is fine.

Please let me know when you made the changes. Thanks!

  5. I haven't been active all that much, so maybe this won't have all that much of an effect but I do wish to say that I will effectively be leaving Canterlot. I've been here for a while, sure, but I've got so may other forums, and so many other RPs, and Canterlot just doesn't catch my eye much anymore. So, that's my story. I know that a lot of you probably don't know me, or don't really care, because I'm inactive enough anyway, but I bid you all adieu. For the time I was here and active, it's been fun. See you all around, I guess.

    ~Hinata

I'm sad to see you go. You were fun to RP with. But I know how things change. Just remember if you change you mind, you can always come back here.

  6. "Melon Stand?"

Watermelon Gush looked at the place she built with her own hooves. It was more of a bunch of boards thrown together nailed together and a painted sign which read Watermelons for Sale! but she was proud of her work.

Check! Lots of yummy watermelons to sell?

The filly looked over at the cart filled to the top with the ripe sweet fruit. She couldn't lay claim to this as her parents were the ones who gave her the watermelon to sell. Still he did have a hoof in growing and picking many of them.

    "Check! Cuteness Powers?"

The filly jumped up on the table of the stand and struck a pose while giving an adorable smile, hoping that it alone would being in the customers.

"Check! Alrighty, time to sell some watermelons!"

  7. "Well that sounds like an interesting hobby," Carrot Top said as she walked through the aisles while occasionally selecting a few choice items from the shelves, "I admit that I've never heard of it being called whitting, only things called woodcarving. Usually though what I've seen are animals like turtles, rabbits, squirrels, things like that. But i've never heard of carving an image of a pony. That must really tricky getting every line and curve right and to keep your sister still when you carve. But i'm sorry to hear that your carving got wrecked. Do you ever think you'll try to carve something like that again?"

  8. The crystal ;pony appeared to like the fact that all she had to do was speak to Heart Healer. In the most basic way, that was what was the key part of a counseling session: talking and listening and asking questions to get to the root of whatever the pony's troubles were.

The pony then mentioned the fact about a time limit being made due to her need to exercise. She couldn't see how a single slice of pie would impact her health, but time was precious to all ;ponies, especially those who were frozen in time like her fellow crystal ponies.

"No need to worry Ms. Star. I try to accommodate my sessions to every pony who sets their hooves into my office. And yes, I will be asking questions about you and you can respond to them. So, let's start with what you said about being on a training regimen. Do you participate in some kind of sports or is such a regimen just meant to stay healthy?"

  9. "Well, Ah'm glad to hear you love yer new home," she said as she let go of her sister, "It's not as fancy as the place we lived in before but it's a charmin' town."

Apple Cinnamon saw the disappointment of her sister not getting her cutie mark.

"Ah, don't be too hard on yerself like that Honey. It took a while for me to find out what mah make was. You just have to try several things that's all. Who knows, maybe movin' here to Appleoosa is just the trick to get yer mark! Anyway, Ah'd love to play with you today, but first let me give you a tour of the town! Would you like that?"

  10. Fire Heart listened as Ice Storm explained what she wanted to accomplish when it came to spells. To the older filly's relief, her friend wasn't looking for something new or complex to learn but to refine what she had already. Furthermore, the spells she wanted to learn were basic ones that many unicorns learned, including her.

"Hmm... I believe I can help you to fix those spells you're trying to learn. I used to get sick like that too when I did some spells before I went to Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. My professors told me that anything like getting dizzy or nauseous or having a headache is due to your body not used to that type of magic. I guess it's like trying to lift something heavy if you haven't done so before. What I think we need to do is practice. The good news is you at least know how to do these things. As for teleportantion, I'm still working on that myself. I'm not like our friend Moondancer. But maybe if we practice together we can figure it out."

Fire then listened to the tale of how Ice Storm was given a free room by a stallion named Lore Weaver. The older filly wondered if Ice had any romantic inclinations to that pony who appeared to be quite nice. But Fire didn't want to belabor the point of Ice Storm's love life, especially since the blue unicorn was just recovering from an ebnd to a marriage.

"Well, that Lore Weaver you told me about sounds like a really good friend. I'll have to meet him someday. But it looks like we reached the park. So, what kind of spell would you like to try first?"

  11. Heart Healer could only shake her head when the pony impulsively dinged the bell one last time before speaking with her. The pony really didn't seem to know why she was there and exactly what the purpose of a psychologist was. It was just as well as unless a pony had a psychologist in their family or visited one on a regular basis they could only guess.

"Well, Ms. Star. I help ponies with any issues they may have in their life, whether it is due to sadness, uncertainty, anger, or even love. Do you have something in your life that you would like to talk to me about? If so, then I can help you. As for what's next, you could step into my office if you'd like and we can get started."

Heart didn't respond to the fact that the waiting room was empty save for her and Cinnabar Star, hoping that it would be remedied as more ponies dropped by.

  12. RP Type: World of Equestria

    Name: Watermelon Gush

    Sex: Female

    Age: Filly

    Species: Earth Pony

Eye colour: Light Green (Like the rind of a watermelon)

Coat: Green (like the skin of a watermelon) She has three black freckles on each cheek that look like watermelon seeds.

Mane and Tail: Light Red (Like the inside of a watermelon) Her mane is divided into two braids that reach her shoulders. Her Tail is also done in a braid. Occasionally she will have errant black seeds mixed in her mane and tail, although she doesn’t seem to mind this fact and actually likes the look.

Physique: Watermelon Gush has a typical filly’s body albeit a little on the athletic side. She can easily carry a medium sized watermelon on her back, but the larger ones she’s forced to roll on the ground with her hooves.

Residence: Garden Gait in Solstice Heights with her family on Bountiful Farms

Occupation: She too young to have an actual job, although she goes to school and help out her parents on the farm.

Cutie Mark: A slice of Watermelon representing her ability to harvest the sweet fruit. Watermelon Gush got her mark when she decided one day that she wanted to try her hoof at farming all by herself. Her parents, excited at their daughter’s passion especially with their livelihood, agreed and set aside a piece of their plot of land for her to grow. Watermelon chose her favorite fruit the watermelon, which just so happened to be her name, to plant. She dug the long trenches, planted the seeds, and watered constantly the area. It was hard work for anypony, especially for a little filly, but Watermelon Gush was happy to sacrifice the time, energy, and even the sore muscles for what she hoped one day would be a sea of watermelons bobbing on an ocean of soil.

Days turned into weeks and the ground remained barren. She began to worry that her dream of growing something like her parents would never happen and that she would not grow up to be a farmer. But suddenly she saw one day a green vine appearing from the soil. From the vine a watermelon grew bigger and bigger until finally it was as big as Watermelon Gush! As luck should have it, there was a fair in town where ponies could have their best produce judged. Watermelon Gush proudly brought her prized watermelon to the fair to be judged and all who were there stared in amazement at the sheer size and quality of the fruit. The judges, who were marveled at the filly’s ability, gave her the blue ribbon for Best Produce. But the best reward she got that day was her cutie mark which appeared in a flash as she received the award!

History: Watermelon Gush got her name because of her uncanny colouring to a watermelon and because her parents saw her as the sweetest pony ever. As for Gush, the story goes that her parents just gushed over her when she was born. Watermelon’s mum, Sweet Honeydew, and her dad, Fruit Salad, both worked as farmers at their home and farm called Bountiful Farms. Their farm specialized in growing fruits other than apples, selling them or making them into fruit salads, drinks, or other food.

Watermelon’s life as a foal was one of joy and love thanks to her parents who although were busy in the farm always had time to be with her. When she was old enough, she began to work with them by helping to water and care for the crops when not going to school. Harvest time was her favorite time as she got to see the literal fruits of her family’s labor. Not surprisingly, her favorite fruit was the watermelon which upon a pony asking why she liked it she would proudly say that, “It’s sweet, like me,” and give a cute squeak sound with her smile.

As she grew older, her parents marveled at how she was quite a naturally pretty filly. They would often say that one day when she became a mare she would be “turning heads” and “breaking hearts.” Watermelon didn’t really know what that meant and especially didn’t want to break a poor pony’s heart. But the affection and attention her parents gave her made her feel good, like she was a princess. Upon looking at Canterlot on the hillside from her window, she often wondered what it would be like to be a princess, to have ponies from all around want to meet her. Her parents always told her that she was their princess and dubbed her “Princess of Watermelons” to which she sometimes likes to say as her title.

After receiving her cutie mark, life has surprisingly not changed much for the red manned filly. She still works at her farm with her parents, goes to school, and has fun with friends her age. Yet one thing getting her mark did was reassure her that farming was her destiny and that life would be sweet doing what she loved.

Character Summary: One could sum up Watermelon Gush’s personality into one word: Sweet. She is a very kind pony who loves to meet new ponies and help wherever she can. She seems to have an endless supply of energy, making her always on the go and doing things. Being forced to stand still or sit, therefore, is difficult for her and sometimes gets her into trouble at school. Her energy level also at times borders on hyperactivity as she zips from one thing to the next.

Watermelon does have the tendency to be seen as a bit scatterbrained and even clumsy due to her energy as she rushed headlong into things. In reality she is a very intelligent pony and a great problem solver. She is especially good at thinking on the fly, learning and doing at the same time. Watermelon Gush is a very hooves on filly, interested in learning by doing and exploring things.

One of her blessings is that Watermelon is a naturally cute pony. This acknowledgement of her beauty coupled with her sweet demeanor allows her to easily get out of jams and even at times have ponies do things for her. One time she was able to get a free milkshake with a wink and a smile. She is not a very girly pony and can be a bit of a tomboy. Some colts in her school have taken notice of her but she just thinks it’s due to her cuteness and nothing more, not yet understanding romance. Watermelon speaks with a high pitched squeaky voice, having not had her voice changed to something more mare like. It suits her just fine as again others find it cute, and as long as ponies see her as such she’s a happy filly.

Besides farming, Watermelon Gush likes to have fun with her friends, learn about nature, explore, visit Canterlot, play sports and games, and enjoy all that the wide world has to offer. She doesn’t like mean ponies, days when she’s sick and can’t play with her friends and having to sit or stand still and wait for something. She also thinks a pony is strange if they tell her that they don’t like watermelons and will proceed to show them the joys of that fruit. Her goals in life are basic as a filly: have fun and make friends. Though she doesn’t have an idea of her future, she imagines herself as a farmer, maybe even the best fruit farmer in Canterlot, providing fresh fruit to even the Princesses. But for now Watermelon Gush is content with being her cute sweet self!

  13. The pink crystal pony suddenly heard the telltale ding of the bell at the receptionist desk indicating that there was a pony to visit. She assumed that the receptionist was there ready to give the pony the paperwork to fill out before seeing her. But assumptions she was quick to find out was some to never be guaranteed.

    Ding!

The bell rang a second time.

    * Ding dingdingdingding Ding dingdingdingding Ding Ding Ding...

Finally Heart Healer had enough of the impromptu bell music and trotted out to the waiting room.

"Mental note," Heart thought, "Get a less obnoxious bell."

"Hello," she said to the apparent bell ringer, "I'm Dr. Heart Healer. I see you have found that bell to be... amusing. What is your name?"

(* My Little Pony theme in Bell Major)

  14. "In light of the recent return of the Crystal Empire," Heart Healer said as she read some hoof written notes of hers, "and to to the return of... He Who Must not Be Named... is my theory that there will be a proliferation of crystal ponies that will be suffering from traumatic memories. It is my duty, neigh, my destiny to assist these poor ponies by helping them return to a sense or normalcy and peace."

She stared at the note for a while and with a chuckle said, "Plus without ponies to help I'd have to find something else to do with my talent, like lecturing crystal sheep."

And so the pink crystal pony shifted in her seat, looking around the room. It was a simple place, a single room that doubled as her office and counseling space. The room was in a state of what Heart called Organized Chaos with papers and books in various piles around her desk and on shelves that lined the walls of the room. In the middle of the space was her comfortable chair and a couch where the patient could sit and relax. Outside there was a waiting area and rest room for ponies waiting for her as well as a receptionist.

And so the pony waited for ponies to counsel.

(RP Rules: Sessions will be given one at a time. For those who are waiting for Heart Healer, feel free to talk with others in the waiting room.)

  15. I just watched EQG today. I like some was skeptical about it deviating from the normal idea of ponies as I've seen shows veer off a cliff when doing something new.

But I was surprised that it was a very well planned movie. The storyline didn't appear to have any plot errors, the characters were great transitioning from pony to human, the songs (I think I counted four) were great, and the animation was just as good as the normal show.

For those that don't like it, really this show I believe won't have much impact on Season 4. But for those who do, it's a great stand alone movie and an interesting addition to the canon.

  16. You've made some good changes to the character. The only thing I want to note is that Alicorns are not allowed in World of Equestria except for the four princesses. So please change the fact that Vision's parents were unicorns and that he adopted one as such. As for the adoption, I would either adjust Vision's age to stallion or remove that as a colt can't really take care of another pony like that. I see also you have many different names like Amethyst and the adopted pony Taste. Really you can simplify things by just focusing on Vision and his parents. After all, it is about Vision for this application.

I would like to mention that aside from adjusting these things there is the option of placing this character in the Free for All area. The plus side is you'd be able to keep your character as is and would be allowed to participate in all threads except those in World of Equestria. If you would like this, please let me know on this thread so it can get moved to the right area.Otherwise, I look forward to the changes.

  17. Carrot Top was so focused on Cherry that she didn't realize that two other mares approached her. She quickly realized so and greeted the ponies.

"Oh hello there you two. I'm Carrot Top. Nice to meet you both as well. I made that carrot cake actually and brought it with me here. It was kind of easy as I'm a short trot away from here. So where are you two from? I remember seeing you here before, um, Tankena right?"

Carrot then addressed the fellow gardening pony who seemed to be doing the same that the orange manned mare was working on.

"Yeah same here. I've been checking on the carrots and making sure those rabbits don't sneak in and steal any like they did before."
