1. Once again the unicorn looked as if he was deep in thought. Obviously this talk about him looking for magic training was creatine a sore spot for him. In the sense the two were similar, looing for purpose. Guiding knew his magic but was looking for how to use it to help others. This pony, it seemed was looking for how to use his magic more effectively.

"Well .. um... there aren't any schools in Ponyville that teach unicorns. Thereis the Ponyvilly School where I'm taught math and reading and things, but not magic. I wish there was a place here. Then I could learn how to use my magic the best way possible. There is a library, so that might be a good start if you want to read something."

  2. It makes sense that the mane cast, according to Lauren Faust, has an age/maturity level of 12-17. First since ponies typically live to thirty, that would be middle age. Also, given that the target demographic is 8-12, it makes sense the ponies are near that age or slightly older so kids could look up to them like an older friend or sister.

  3. Name: Apple Cinnamon (sometimes called AC)

    Gender: Young Mare

    Age: Mare

    Species: Earth Pony

    Pelt colour: Light Brown

Mane/Tail colour & Style: Red done up in a big poofy style (like Pinkie Pie) In her words, ‘Everythin’s bigger in Appleoosa, even the mane stylin’!”

    Eye colour: Green

Cutie Mark: A fiddle, representing her singing and fiddle playing talent

Clothing: Being from Appleoosa, she sometimes wears dresses, although she sometimes prefers to be “givin’ up the frills” and wearing nothing.

Accessories: A brown cowboy hat., her good luck hat.Typically she is seen with her fiddle case as well as saddle bags with musicand other things.

Accent: A traditional Appleoosian accent (like Apple Jack)

    Residence: Appleoosa

Occupation: Country Singer, Song Writer, Fiddler

Talents, Skills: “Fiddlin’ Singin’ Song writin’”

Likes: Singing, music, meeting new ponies, traveling to new places, her family

Dislikes: Ponies who are rude or take advantage of others, media ponies who keep hounding her, possibly failing her song or getting stage fright.

Character Personality: There is a quite charm about AC. She is accepting a "come what may" lifestyle, and doesn't get too flustered about the small problems. This charm has made her fairly popular where ever she goes, particularly in her home town of Appleoosa. She's no shrinking violet though and is a strong hardworking individual.

Bio: Born and raised as a foal in an apple orchard near Canterlot, Apple Cinnamon believed that she would be following in her family’s hoof steps in regards to doing something apple related. Her mother and father worked on an apple farm along with her little sister, Honey Crisp. Yet over time she didn’t like the idea of toiling in a farm her entire life.

One day she found her grandfather’s fiddle in the attic and tried playing it. She ended up being a natural playing it, as well as having a great singing voice. This attracted not only the attention of her parents but also the town. It was at her first impromptu concert that gave her not only fame but also produced her cutie mark.

Apple Cinnamon now travels through Equestria singing and playing her fiddle. Upon discovering the town of Appleoosa and its quiet charm, she decided to settle down there. Yet Apple Cinnamon never forgot her roots and returns frequently to her parents' house from time to time. Her parents, although at first nervous of the fact that she would be traveling, are accepting of her talent and the fact that if is going to get popular, she would ultimately have to travel.

Apple Cinnamon does has some friends in Appleoosa, and even before becomming famous knew practically everypony due to her charm.

Besides singing and playing, she likes listening to music, sitting by the fire with friends, watching the sunrise, and stargazing. No matter how popular she gets, she will always consider herself a country filly.

Motivation: To become famous and to see all of Equestria.

  4. "Well um you're a unicorn, so you could do magic," Guiding Light said. His logic did seem fairly flawless even for being a foal who still had alot to learn in the world. Even as foals, ponies are taught about their respective races: eath ponies are strong and often like working with the land, pegasus ponies have wings and work with the sky, unicorns have horns and work with magic.

Then Light realized that this pony wasn't asking about if he could do magic, but why he seemed to struggle doing so. "Oh, so you're having trouble doing magic, right? Well ... um... I just learned my magical talent a short time ago, but ..um... I was told that the best way to use magic was to be calm and rather than force it just to let it happpen naturally. At least that's what my parents told me."

  5. "Carosuel Botique," Guiding Light said in a questioning tone, trying to remember where it was in Ponyville or what it sold, "Oh yes the dress shop. Um... I think i know the owner... what was her name... oh it is Rarity. Her sister, Sweetie Belle, is in my class."

Light looked over and saw that the unicorn sitting next to him was deep in thought, as if something dealing with Canterlot made him think. He then started saying something, but didn't really finish. "Um... what was that you were wanting to do?"

  6. Sweet Surprise laughed at how the other ponies seemed to follow in line with her joke. There was a certain apprehension with Sweet as she feared that no pony would laugh at her jokes or worse they would take offense to it. Yet they seemed to enjoy it.

"Well I was from Manehattan," Sweet said as she ordered three hot chocolates, "But then I moved here in Canterlot about a few months ago. I know a little about Canterlot from when my parents would take me to special events, but I'm still getting used to the place. And how about you Firebolt? Where do you call home?"

  7. *waves a hoof* Been using it for years. I'm an Equine Fur speaking from experience. :) It works great for me as a shampoo and body wash since it's concentrated and unscented. :D I can get a bottle to last for months. :)

I don't know if I would try it. I might turn into a horse (which may or may not be a good thing).

  8. "Um... sure," Lux said. It looked like the pony was making a beeline to the bench anyway. Lux scooted over to let the pony sit. There was a time as a foal he was almost sat on because he blended in so well with the snow with his white pels and silvery mane and tail. It was a bit traumatic for him, and caused him not to sit on benches in the snow for awhile.

"So um... it looks like you're traveling. Are you staying around here, or going somewhere else eventually?" Lux was desparately trying to establish some type of conversation. It was awkward starting up a conversation for him, be it a pony he knew or a complete stranger like this unicorn. It wasn't like Lux had nothing to say, but saying it was a struggle.

  9. I did not watch much of the G1-G3 series. But from what I did watch I didn't like much of it. I didn't like the blandness of the ponies' personalities, the fact that humans were integrated, the unclever songs, etc.

What I like about MLP now is as follows

Characters have their own distinct personalities while still being able to integrate with each other.

A great plot that has many slice of life fun but still links together

Great design of the ponies. (They may fall into the Uncanny Valley as they aren't exactly drawn to be cartoony ponies ala G1-G3 or anthro like characters, but in a world made up entirely of them it makes it believable. It would be like a cartoon where all the characters are animals. You believe it because the world is filled of them.)

Songs that are fun but not annoying

Voice acting (This gives life to a character and adds to the personality)

Consistantly good episodes (sure we have our favorites, but I can't say I watched one that was really bad)

Great messages that kids and adults can take away.

  10. Read My Little Dashie a few days ago, seeing what all the fuss was about. I admit I don't read too many fanfics, but those I did were good (Past Sins, Transcendance, Growing Pains, The Logical Option)

It was a touching story showing how a seemingly impossible bond can happen. The sad part was at the end, and darn it that fan fic made me cry. It was the first fanfic that ever did. Yes the fic was a little choppy with editing done on it, but ultimately it was a good piece. I'd give it 4/5 stars.

  11. Yes, ultimately the popularity of MLP will wane. It's happened to everthing that was popular. One reason why it will wane is those who joined in because of it being the next popular thing will move one to the next new popular thing. Another reason would be simply losing interest (gasp!). But those who like MLP can always choose to continue liking it, no matter what happens to the fandom. And as long as you have people liking it, there will still be a fandom.

  12. (OOC: I'd go with winter to stick with the overall season of the board).

Guiding Light was surprised to hear a pony. Was he really talking that loudly. No, this pony didn't seem to be speaking to him about what guiding Light was saying. He was asking about a place to stay. Indeed it looked like this pony was traveling with such a big saddlebag, and it looked like this pony had never been to Ponyville.

"Oh hello there," Light said in his quiet tone, "I'm sorry I didn't see you there. I was thinking about something."

His mind then focused on the pony's question. "A place to stay? Well um there is the Ponyville Inn. It's just up the street. Never been there myself, but I heqard it's nice."

  13. Last October, I successfully converted three of my friends. Now they're always making references to the show when I meet them, and I bought them last Christmas a Twilight plushie from Toys R Us.

I also met others who liked MLP already.

Now to convert my other friends...

  14. Maybe not getting that exact episode, but i would like to see an episode like Sisterhooves Social where Big Mac is featured with Applejack and maybe Applebloom in regards to the brother/sister relationship between them.

Maybe have Applebloom being teased by someone and have Big Mac stand up to them.

Or have Applejack depressed and he is there to help.

  15. You know you're an MLP fan when...

You picture random people passing by as ponies.

When you go to a fair and hear they have a live pony petting zoo, you get excited thinking ponies are there.

You draw more ponies that any other art.

You have cried at least once after reading an MLP fanfic (I did after reading My Little Dashie)

If you have commissioned a drawing of your pony. (I did for my character Sky Rocket, now called Sky Flare here).

  16. It was evening in Ponyville. The sun had already set and the moon had risen in the sky. In town many of the ponies had already closed up their businesses for the day save for a few eating establishments. Many of the ponies were at home with a few still out in town talking to each other. Yet there was one pony who seemed to stand out in this setting.

In the town square, seated on a bench, was a colt, young enough that he received his cutie mark about a year ago. In the moonlight his white pelt and silvery mane and tail seemed to be illuminated. He appeared to be deep in thought about something as he looked up at the moon. "What is my purpose," he asked himself, "I got my cutie mark, and I know my talent, but now what? What am I supposed to do with creating light other than helping ponies see?" Frustrated he put his hooves to his head. "I wish there was somepony who could do the same light magic or somepony who knew about it to teach me some things."

  17. "Wow that's neat Firebolt," Sweet Surprise said to the pegasus, "It's like saying hello but from earlier on." The pony was very proper, even more proper that many of the ponies living in Canterlot. This was not the snooty proper, the I'm-better-that-you proper that she saw sometimes but a sincere gracious show of being proper. "And thankfully I won't be running out of candy anytime soon because I work at a candy shop."

She then turned to the other pony. "And hello Misty. These lights have been here for as long as I could remember. Of course it could have been longer but I wasn't here so I wouldn't know. But yeah this light display always seems to be getting bigger with each Hearth's Warming Eve. I think this year is the most amazing light filled display yet. Oh, and there is a trail that ponies can take to walk among the lights. It's not a long walk and it is safe. I was planning to go on it, and you two can join me if you want."

Sweet then caught sight of a certain vendor tent in the field. "But first, I'm going to get some hot chocolate. Do you two want some?"
