  1. "What's a good name for a sorcerer..." Oppette wondered. "...Wait, I've got it!" In the name slot, she wrote, "the Great and Powerful Trixie". "...Trixie was always one of Cinnamon's favorite performers. Back when we were foals, she'd constantly be raving about how awesome Trixie's magic was. She said it was Trixie that inspired her to start adventuring. I guess the name fits, then!" She giggled. ...Did I just bring up my childhood?! Oh Celestia, he probably thinks I'm some sort of nutjob for wanting to go out with him! So what? Since when do I care about what some colt thinks of me? Uh, wake up and smell the cookies! You're a complete recluse! A shut-in! It's about time you started caring! But... No! You just sit there and keep writing up that character so you can play H&H with your coltfriend! ..."Coltfriend?" What is wrong with me today?
  2. "Cool! So, let's get started..." Oppette smiled and pulled out a character sheet. "I think I'll play a sorcerer this time. Y'know, for a bit of a change of pace." She picked up a pencil and tapped it lightly against the table. "Hm, name, name, what should I choose for a name..."
  3. Ugh, what am I doing?! she wondered to herself, This date is spiraling out of control. I need to think of something before I make things even worse... "Well..." Oppette pondered, "Hey! You're a unicorn, right? Maybe you could summon some gaming books and we could work on characters? I mean, we'd need to get a group together, and find somepony to GM... d'you know anypony else who plays H&H? I have a friend who might be able to run the game." GAH! That didn't help! Calm down, you silly filly. You're on a date with the colt of your dreams; he's smart, cool, likes tabletop, and he's hot! ...Where did THAT come from?
  4. Oppette blushed. "That'd be great! Believe it or not, I usually play a wizard, myself." Oh dear Celestia, what have I done?
  5. "Well, I do play Hydras & Hippogriffs occasionally, but I haven't had a lot of time for that with all the work I've been doing lately. I really need to schedule more free time." Oppette smiled. He's kinda dreamy... she thought, before mentally stopping herself. Get ahold of yourself, Oppette- Opella- Oppi- STEIN! It's just a ruse, remember? You're not really a colt- stallion- GAH! Just get through this date without losing your cool, and then go home and make some antidote. He is kinda dreamy, though. I SAID STOP IT! What? He is! Oppette found herself swooning a bit.
  6. "True. Although, it does boom literally on occasion. Good thing I have countermeasures in place to make sure the building doesn't get destroyed." Oppette let out a girlish laugh.
  7. Oppette listened intently. "It's okay, sweetie, I won't tell anypony." She smiled. "I opened an apothecary the other day. Business is kinda slow, but I'm building up a customer base."
  8. "The pesticide hasn't been proven to affect anything other than parasprites, but you have a point. I should probably test both methods in a controlled environment to see what works better, and make sure they're not too dangerous." Oppette continued eating her cupcakes, "So... pull any good heists lately?"
  9. Oppette thought about her various experiments. "Eh, I dabble quite a bit. Mostly I work with chemicals, though. For example, I've developed a special pesticide for getting rid of Parasprites. It needs to be applied manually, though, so it's not as effective as I'd like. I've been considering breeding some sort of plant that we could seed along the border of the Everfree Forest to eat the parasprites. That, or some sort of airborne variant of the pesticide." The food arrived. Oppette took a bite out of a cupcake, trying her best to be dainty about it, then asked, "So, what do you think would be best?"
  10. "That'll be 10 bits ((assuming Equestrian bits are roughly equivalent to American dollars))," Oppen said, handing over the jug while Orange Dart got the money. "Need anything else?"
  11. As Oppen Stein walked into Sugar Cube Corner, she began to mentally recount the events of this afternoon. She'd been delivering medicine to the local hospital when Dark Core tripped her, causing her to spill modified Poison Joke serum all over herself, turning her into a filly. After a futile and rather confusing kidnapping attempt, DC left behind a list of "Fillies That I Have A Crush On", to which Oppen's name had been added shortly after the accident (or "accident", depending on what theory a pony decides to believe). After being teased mercilessly by Cinnamon and Inkwell, they discovered that a batch of OS's serum had been stolen by DC. While the original plan was to have somepony taunt Dark Core to distract him, Cinnamon made a disturbingly compelling argument: "...maybe a better distraction would be to have Oppen flirt with DC... That way, DC won't feel the need to splash anypony else, and we can get the chemicals out safely! I mean, if I taunt him, he might just splash me, and that would give us away if we tried to grab the chemicals while he was using them. We'll need to fix up your hair first, though. Y'know, to make the ruse more effective." One quick makeover (courtesy of Glitzen Glamour) later, "Oppette" went down to Dark Core's lair to flirt, kiss, and then ask him to dinner, giving Inkwell and Cinnamon plenty of time to retrieve the stolen serum. So here they were; down at Sugar Cube Corner, ready to order dinner. Oppette would say that this was her most nervous date ever, but seeing as how she'd never dated anypony at all before, that wouldn't be saying much... Trotting up the the counter with her date, Oppette called over Mrs. Cake, "A plate of vanilla cupcakes for me." Turning to Dark Core and smiling, she asked, "What do you want, cutie?" This would definitely be a night for her to remember.
  12. Oppen stood up. "A sleeping potion, you say? Let me take a look. If I remember correctly..." Oppen started mumbling to himself, trotting over to the shelf labeled "S". He began to sort through the stock. "Sleeping... sleeping... sleep- Ah! Here we go!" Oppen pulled out a large glass jug labelled "Sleeping Beauty's Elixir", taking it back ot the counter. "If this isn't enough, I can make more for you. It's a little extra, but you get a discount if you buy in bulk."
  13. Cinnamon: Becomes unable to monologue, affect a faux-Medieval accent, or do anything that a "normal" pony wouldn't do Oppen Stein: hooves start to shake, causing him to spill chemicals
  14. Two letters arrive for Willow Wisp: *** Dear Willow Wisp, As a pony of science, I have never been a strong believer in the occult. However, recently I have heard rumors pertaining to the creation of something called a "Pony Golem"; a pony created from artificial materials and animated through magic. While normally I would dismiss such myths, this particular legend is remarkably persistent despite the apparent lack of evidence. Magic is indeed a strong presence in Equestria; perhaps there is at least some truth to the story? And if so, could there theoretically be a way to duplicate the process scientifically? -Oppen Stein *** Dear Willow Wisp, I have forayed into the Everfree Forest many times over the course of my life, and know more about said forest than most ponies ever even ask. However, there is one question I have never been able to answer: where does that spooky background music come from? Y'know, that eerie tune that echoes through the forest whenever a pony ventures in? -Cinnamon
  15. Cinnamon's character summary mentions the tabletop game "Hydras & Hippogriffs", of which Cinnamon has probably played way too much and is more than a little eccentric as a result.
  16. I kinda want to help out now, this sounds too fun =) Here's some info on my characters: Cinnamon is pretty eccentric too; she's played too much tabletop and as a result sees the world in terms of fantasy tropes, she's been known to monologue about her surroundings, she sometimes affects a faux-Medieval accent if she thinks it'll make her sound cooler. While not a "celebrity" in the same sense as Wicked Wishes, Cinnamon wants "fame and glory", which amounts to pretty much the same thing. Real-life celebrities tend to hang out with each other, so why not Wicked Wishes and Cinnamon? Oppen Stein isn't really interested in being a celebrity. What does interest him, however, is getting his work noticed by the Equestrian public. As such, if Wicked Wishes could find a use for Oppen's craft, he would be willing to work for her. And, as always, anypony who can appreciate the value of Science is a good pony in Oppen's proverbial book.
  17. A few days ago, Ginger Mint posted rules for a Friendship is Magic tabletop RPG: viewtopic.php?f=51&t=679 Sadly, she doesn't have time to GM (or play) it. Not wanting a perfectly good ruleset to go to waste, I have volunteered to GM a campaign, using the Private RP section. Several bronies have already volunteered to play: holypony20 Teh_Brawler Orange Dart NiccolaVonMask I intend to send PMs to these ponies just in case they don't notice this thread. I only have room for six players, meaning that there are two more slots available should anypony want them. First come first serve! Character sheets and rules for character creation can be found in the main thread, linked to above. The game uses playing cards instead of dice, so in case anypony doesn't have their own deck, here's a virtual one: http://sonan.home.insightbb.com/vdoc/ Any questions? =)
  18. Recently purchased from its previous owners, this building used to be a bakery. The sign out front depicted a loaf of bread, underneath which the words "Pumpernickel Bakery" were displayed. Now, the same sign has a picture of a flask filled with some bubbling green liquid, and reads "Erlenmeyer Apothecary". The interior previously contained shelves upon shelves of breads of all different types - instead, the shelves are now filled with glass containers of varying sizes and contents, all neatly labeled and organized. Looking through the shelves, a pony might find a test tube labeled "Poison Joke Antidote", or a flask of "Parasprite Pesticide". Near the back of the room is a small counter with a cash register. Behind this counter is a door leading to the back room, with a sign warning "Employees Only". If a pony were to go past this door, they would find a variety of stoves, containers, tubes, and other, more obscure apparatuses, all containing liquids of various colors and consistencies. The counter has a small bell on it, presumably to alert the owner of the business to a potential customer. ... Oppen Stein sits at the counter, having completed mixing the chemicals for sale. His eyes wander accross the room. This is the first step to earning the trust of Ponyville, and with that trust comes grant money, which in turn leads to more research, and only with research can he hope to truly help the ponies of Equestria. But for now, all he needs is a customer...
  19. Edited the age to Filly (19).
  20. Edited the title - ready to move! =)
  21. Ah, I almost forgot to tell you guys my screenname. It's "evilgenius". I'm such a silly pony sometimes.
  22. Kog'maw is awesome, isn't he? I have his Monarch skin, myself =D My mind goes to strange place when I'm bored... The other day, I found myself wondering what some of the ponies from FiM would look like if they were champions in League of Legends. This lead to me writing up some hypothetical abilities for Rainbow Dash: Need For Speed (Innate Passive): Rainbow Dash's movement speed increases the longer she moves continuously. Rainbow Crash: Rainbow Dash charges to the target location, dealing physical damage to the first enemy in her path and knocking back other enemies in the area. Thundercloud: Rainbow Dash flaps her wings to create a storm cloud, slowing enemies in the area and dealing magic damage each second. Iron Pony: Rainbow Dash passively increases her armor. She can activate this ability to taunt an enemy and reduce their armor. Sonic Rainboom (Ultimate): Rainbow Dash accelerates, gaining increased attack speed and movement speed. After a short delay, she creates a Sonic Rainboom, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and doubling her bonus attack speed and movement speed. I'm considering doing more of these, out of boredom more than anything else. If anyone has a request for who to do next, throw it out there =)
  23. Yeah, I got bored with it a while back, but I recently started playing again.
  24. Y'know, that (allegedly) free online game? Just wondering if anyone else plays it.
