  1. Searching the forums first helps with that. Haters? I find them endlessly amusing. After all, what is more satisfying than defeating neighsayers with calm and serenity? Making them doubt themselves and question their own motives is the best result, obviously.

  2. Dear dear Silver. Death is inevitable for all of us, so why worry about it? Why dread it? I don't fear death, I would simply feel unaccomplished at this point. It's the next great adventure! After all, I've seen this reaper myself. It's not as scary as you think. So smile instead! There's so much laughter to be had.

  3. You fight an uphill battle, Pinkie :I

*I* once played the greeting game. I would dish out superty special, awesomely unique welcomes for each and every new pony. I would REALLY make them feel welcome.

And I would scoff at all those copy/pastaers.

But there are ALWAYS new ponies. ALWAYS.

    It wont EVER end.

And you're lucky if 1 out of 5 of them become active :I

I feel like I could mention anything I could think of on these forums and you will have tried it at least once :) However, Introductions is where I became known and one of the few places that I shine here on Canterlot. And thus I shall continue to devote almost an hour each day to welcoming each new pony without copying or pasting the entire thing!

  4. And ye was Apolline Allura brought back to chat from a hat, living, breathing, smiling.

The skies cleared, the birds sang, and the prices of video game consoles were lowered drastically.

    *glomps Fawkes*

"That was not a pleasant time in purgatory let me tell you."

    :)

"Go, my love You have video games to enjoy."

What unholy creature is this?! angry_luna_by_wolf20-d4e9am8.gif

  5. Partially correct, Sulvuss. I give voice to the different facets of my personality, with my normal everyday nothing-special-stimulating me personality being the most prevalent. Which persona I'm referring to is obvious. As for your dreams, fear not. Let the soft loveliness of night embrace you and banish the shadows from your mind, whilst they caress your physical form. Stars watch over you :Luna:

  6. I am the darkness within. Though this implies evil, this assumption is wrong. I grant access to the beauty of the soul. I am spirituality, an inner strength that comes in times of need. Though I am the strongest in the basest sense of the word, I am by far not the defining feature nor do I desire to be. I am the love of mystery, that knowledge that what is unknown can change everything. Intelligence, honesty, dedication, sorrow. These are my hallmarks.

  7. Indeed! It will be quite the spectacle!

I am most regretful that I shall have to summon my power against such a close foalhood friend and indeed a continuing companion throughout my life. I shall not slay you, Imagination, but if you traitorously side with Fawkes against Applestia and myself, I shall enslave you forevermore. With sadness in my heart I shall bring the down the fury of the cosmos by mine hoof!

  8. So, Magi is going through with Fawkes's vision of destruction and unholy cataclysm. Applestia against the Prince of Chaos, and me against Imagination itself. Though the revisited battle of old will be one of much grandeur and power, ours will be the most fanciful and stunning of all. For who else but we can clash across the limitless fantasyscapes that our minds entwined can conjure? Applestia and Fawkes shall confront each other upon the last vestiges of Equestria whilst we dance across the stars above. I'm okay with this finale.

  9. Somehow I knew this would happen. There are always those who seek to find malcontent even with the most innocent things. Do these protesters honestly think that Derpy's appearance and mannerisms were a blatant insult to the developmentally disabled community? Somehow I think only a small core of them do, while the rest simply want to cause strife.

I've known many true mentally-disabled friends/classmates/associates in my lifetime, just as many of the rest of you have. While some of them have indeed acted in the manner in which Derpy behaved during "The Last Roundup," the way our favorite background pegasus was portrayed seemed to be intentionally more, for lack of a better word, "ditzy" than anypony I've met with the aforementioned problems. When did the line blur between those who are truly silly and uncoordinated and those who are mentally-handicapped? Apparently when these champions of the down-trodden decided it was so. For years, foals' shows have had similar characters without such backlash.

Honestly? Some ponies love to white knight even if those they're defending don't see a problem with anything. You can create a problem out of nothing, and I unashamedly admit that this is my own opinion here, but that is a glaring problem of society today. We have enough true issues without neighsayers adding more that had no real substance of their own. In fact, I would go so far to say that by causing this much commotion about innocent happenstance, those offended parties are actually drawing negative attention toward those who truly do have the problems Derpy supposedly mocks.

I apologize for the long post, but I'll end with this: If mares and stallions are protesting for their foals against a nod to bronies, over a foal's show, do they honestly want to ruin the experience for them? I can almost guarantee that none of the target audience thought anything similar to the protests that are going on, it's older ponies, just like us. How hypocritical of them to claim that our opinions shouldn't matter on the show, when theirs should. If they claim that they're acting in defense of their foals or the greater good, I should like that they provide true proof of malcontent before they are given such a lofty, righteous position. They could very well be teaching the young ones that the world is out to judge them, to mock them. How cruel a lesson to give to such a new life.

Post Script: I realize that the continuity and logic in my post might be slightly skewed, I'm a little under the moon today. Forgive me :)

  10. It's also just occurred to me that, arguably, making a few assumptions and guesses... the Flimflam Brothers are the worst villians we've ever seen on the show.

Nightmare Moon was either possessed or insane, and thus not really in control of her actions. Discord is horrendously evil, but it may be literally impossible for him to be anything other than what he is - Chaos and disharmony incarnate. The Windigo probably can't change either, and might not even be sentient. Trixie and Gilda may have substantial reasons in their backstory for why they are the way they are, and they didn't do anything particularly terrible anyway. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are children, and will grow up one day. The Diamond Dogs really seem too stupid to be properly evil, and probably have difficulty forming empathy for ponies.

Whereas Flim and Flam knew exactly what they were doing when they offered the Apples an extortionate deal, and then goaded Granny Smith into a foolish wager when their deal was rejected. Sure, they didn't kill anypony, but they planned to drive a family out of business and off their land, in the name of making some quick bits. They can't even claim that financial hardship is forcing them to do it, because they could make plenty of money by working legitimately with the Apples, either as contractors or as honest competitors. They attempted to destroy a family's livelihood in the name of greed, and they didn't show the slightest bit of remorse in doing so. That's pretty dreadful.

They sang a song, so that made it okay :) As to my previous observation, after seeing how easily the Flim Flam brothers manipulated Ponyville citizens the first time I'm sure that they could have fabricated another lie as to why their competition cider was less than stellar. Without applying real-world considerations to this episode, I liked it very much

  11. Yes, well...

    Well...

    Fawkes doesn't cheat...

Cheating implies using an advantage that others aren't aware of or can't use...

And Fawkes learned that trick from Angie. She uses it too.

    And Apolline.

And uhm... Normandy too, at least once, I think >:

    And well uhm...

Strife is... a particularly sweet treat which is all too rare in these parts, these days...

Without the Strife... there is nothing but... fanfics and arts and... "How was your day?" "Oh, good. How was yours." "Good, good. Nice weather."

In the Golden Era, Strife drove the chaos. Chaos drove the Strife.

This is why Fawkes maintains his rivalry with Appliance... without it, there would be nothing but... BORE-DOM >:[

And so sometimes... Fawkes singles out ponies who seem like they might be able to harness the Strife.

To forge it into chaos. To summon it up and fling it around.

Ponies who can win hearts and minds and oppose Fawkes.

Sometimes he does it without even realizing it...

Pinkie made bold claims. She summoned the Strife.

Fawkes jumped on it like a foal to sugar cubes :I

Then you have made your choice. Diametrically opposed we shall be, with chaos from you and strife from me. Structure crumbling, order unfurled, cataclysm shall come to this world. Fondly remembered shall be the times of nuzzling and laughter, banished into the void now and hereafter. Gazing over the fields of madness, with sorrow masked by confidence, we shall face each other. Strife born again to Fawkes's delight, and mourned by Pinkie and the onset of her plight. Hear me now, draconequus, you have your desire, be prepared for resistance, power, and darkness most dire.

  12. Why must you oppose me at every turn, Pinkie? Why? We are natural compliments. Our song, meant to be sung in harmony, not opposition. The symphony we could write has the potential to paint a smile across the world which would hold everlasting. But no. For Pinkie is NOT Pinkie. Pinkie is Aria. And Aria has a penchant for... hmm... overthrowing established orders. Pinkie would not plot. Aria-Pinkie however DOES plot. She labels me a villain and vows to throw me down from atop my hill into the mud and the murk. Aria-Pinkie does not understand Fawkes. She was not there when he fought for his ponies. She was not present when he bled for them. Aria does not know how much Fawkes cares. She thinks she knows though. But she does not. And she does not care.
I've found the important part amongst your babbling, Fawkes. <3
