  2. Was it the top percentage of 1st Ed Rattata? Joking, I collected pokemon cards nearly around the same time the show came out. First card I had was a holo-foil Gyarados, which used to be my favorite pokemon as a kid aside mewtwo and Kadabra. Nowadays I haven't bought any recent ones aside a tin of booster packs just to see what the newer cards are like. I got a more recent squirtle card and now I don't need to buy pokemon cards until there's a pokemon cuter than Squirtle. AahemSo much cutier then Squirtle <3 Blatant Chansey rip-off to me. And NOTHING is cuter than Squirtle.
  3. Welcome aboard! Make yourself comfortable, try the roleplay, and don't feed Ashi excessive amounts of sugar.
  4. Sorry, but I missed your point; it seemed like you retracted your argument. If I'm reading you correctly, my response is that the only way to truly be able to handle something like that is if both parties directly say what they're thinking; how can the other ponies try to help Pinkie feel better if she didn't say anything directly until the end? We have to remember that as audience members, we're given a deeper perspective into the characters thoughts and actions, but we can't assume that any character knows as much as we do. As for the ending, I thought it ended perfectly, but that's just me.
  5. Dear Celestia, Disregard that package you received from me in the mail. Unless you are a fan of burned flesh. Your faithful student, Brawlzy
  6. Aw, poor Spike, being used like that by both Rarity AND Pinkie Pie. LOL BEST REACTION FACES YET

I studied abroad in Japan for a year, so that was a huge help. You're an art major with a minor in Japanese? How come, if I may ask? The art major is for the opportunity to get better at drawing, and to learn filmmaking techniques and animation (I'm specializing in Film and Video). But the Japanese minor actually plays more into my plan A. I'm planning on going to seminary after college to be ordained as a pastor, and then going to Japan as a missionary to help start a church/help one that's already developing.
  8. Astron felt his anger leave as the real truth came out. "Now, that wasn't so bad," He replied. "If you had told us that from the beginning, we could have worked to help you out." He smiled, glad that the situation was under control. "As for your barring, I can handle that. I am confident that they won't object to you coming as my guest." About that point, they reached the museum in it's bright alabaster glory. There was a gray earth pony in a ticket box, selling entrance tickets to the museum. Astron walked up, and requested, "Four tickets to the museum, my good man." The pony let his shock and awe at seeing the prince die down, and printed out four tickets. Astron handed the appropriate amount of gold to him, and turned towards the other two ponies and Scales, tickets in hoof. "There we go," he finished, handing one to each of them.
  9. Well, considering a few of the main cast didn't exist until this season ^_^
  10. I'm not for it. Being imprisoned for a thousand years on the moon should not make you the target of a fanbase's ill humor.
  11. Actually, it's a different dragon, it's just a palette swap ^_^
  12. Welcome to Equestria! Nice to see you find our forum. The witty thread title attracted my attention, so I thought I'd come say hi.

  14. The target demographic is little girls and their parents. You're selling kids too short, I think. Giving a character a personality isn't too much for kids to follow, nor is tying those characters into the plot. You've got 200 posts here. What have you been thinking about if not ponies? It a fansite for Faust's sake, stop fighting it and accept that taking it too seriously is the point. Besides, I've got brain to spare. The problem analysis at this level is that it will inevitably ruin the show for people. While yes, Faust has said that the show is made for little girls and their parents, don't get the order confused: it is for little girls first, and their parents second. Simply put, there is no need to include adult oriented content at that rate of consistency because the first priority is children. The show hasn't failed it's original purpose if every 18-25 year old male gets bored and stops watching, but it does fail if it doesn't appeal to children. And, believe it or not, to children, it wouldn't be enjoyable with consistent deeper ideas because of the style. Spike talking about why he loves working so much wouldn't be enjoyable, simply because he's drawn in a very cartoon style, and kids aren't interested in that depth, because they haven't experienced it yet. And on the other side, older viewers probably wouldn't enjoy it either, because that level of abstraction in art isn't good for deeper thoughts; it would be like Dora the Explorer having a service announcement on shoplifting. While we all may find that hilarious, we're not going to take it seriously because of the context, and unless the original intent was humor, the point is missed. I.E. Spike telling a story about Twilight saving his life and him becoming her attendant to make up for it wouldn't be appealing, at least at some level, to anyone. And while, no, giving characters backstories isn't going above their potential, it is going above their interest. And as for the "taking it to seriously" purpose; my opinion is that the purpose is for people who like the show to be able to socialize under the topic of the show. If it's overanalysis, a good chunk of the forum, myself included, won't fit in here at all.
  15. I'm planning on it. While anyone who wants to roleplay can (ponies are welcome to join in, whether as stand operators or just participants), but I want the main focus of it to be the Canterlot dragons.
  16. This has been discussed slightly amongst some of us on the forum, but I wanted to make sure a fair amount of people will be involved. Basically, this RP will be an opportunity for all dragon characters to get involved deeper in the forum overall; members can deeper develop their characters, start relationships (in the friends term or otherwise) with other dragons, and basically just get the dragons here started. Any interest?
  17. That was a silly episode but OH ALL THE LOVE Spike is narcoleptic it seems.
  18. I'm far too much of a story gamer. I don't play games to blow things up and be awesome, I play games to get a story out of it. As such, I'm an absolute SUCKER for visual novel games and puzzle games with an overarching story. I was so upset when I found out that the sequel to Hotel Dusk wasn't being localized. Gonna get the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton crossover? YES OH GOOD HEAVENS YES YOU HAVE NO IDEA I WILL GET THE JAPANESE VERSION IF IT IS NOT LOCALIZED
  19. You and me both, Ceets. Don't know how I pulled that off, but, hey, I'm glad I did.
  20. Djemba looked up, oatmeal dotting her nose. She smiled, wiping it off with no real embarrasment, and replied, "Ha, you wish I was a secret chef. Then I could make you free food all the time. Unfortunately for you," she added, tapping his snout lightly with her hoof, "I'm just a drummer in a rock band." As they both finished their oatmeal, Djemba sighed with contentment, glad to finally have a full stomach. "Ah, nothing like a good breakfast to start the day!" She then took both of their bowls to the sink, for cleaning up later. "Now," she started, getting a mischievous look on her face, "What's say we get on that 'getting to know each other better', hm?"
  21. Mitsaragi glanced at the contraption put in front of him. He wasn't sure what to make of the situation, let alone the piece of metal. He wasn't sure why the pony was showing him the machine, and, quite frankly, he was frustrated at the lack of work he had done, so any level of logic about relations had gone out the window. "Ah, um, that's very nice. Did you make it yourself?" He picked it up with his magic and rotated it, looking at all the angles, more so out of politeness than actual interest.
  22. (So sorry, guys. This week has been crazy.) Astron's angry glare lessened slightly as the situation unfolded. It seemed like there was more going on than first told. He snorted a tad, letting out the frustration, and replied to Mudbug, "Well, let's let this unfold first. I feel like this may be more easily solved if we all speak our minds." Astron then turned to Klank, and continued. "Now, to reply to your question, no, I'm not familiar with said exhibit, but your mention of it leads me to believe that there's more to this than a lack of interest in the museum. Why don't you tell me what's really going on, and we can decide a route from there?" Scales sighed to himself. Joy, another long story.
