  1. Oh! Just thought i'd let you know that I have a more accurate picture of Cat for ya :3 beep
  2. Cat nodded with a smile to the other pony who'd decided to join her in the garden. "Thank you, I just hope he'll stay still for a teeny bit longer..." She said in a gentle voice, not wanting to scare off her subject who was still very interested in the bush. She had begun to pencil in the finer details, eyes, ears, nostrils, even a few whiskers on his nose. "Such an odd animal, where are they native to?" She asked, partly wondering to herself since she wasn't sure this pony knew anything about kangaroos either.
  3. Cat Napper sat back on her haunches staring at the blank sketchbook propped up in front of her. Such a magnificent part of the castle, The Royal Gardens! The pegasus felt so honored to be able to see such a place, but something felt off to her. The beautiful surroundings definitely felt inspirational to her, but she sat with her pencil gripped between her fetlocks, unsure of a subject to draw. "Hmm.." She sat still for a moment, tapping the end of her pencil against her chin thoughtfully. Usually she could pull a subject from her mind based on her knowledge of existing creatures, but that sounded too average right then. Here she was, at the Grand Galloping Gala for Luna's sake! There had to be something interesting here to draw. "Oh? Hello, stay where you are 'lil guy." Cat whispered to a very odd looking animal. She'd only heard of such a creature, a kangaroo, but never seen one! "Not so little, you're pretty big!" The creature stood still a few yards away, sniffing at something within a bush. Perfect pose! Now, if only he would stay still for her. Cat expertly began a light skeletal sketch of the creature and puzzled out it's odd muscular structure. Those back legs certainly were developed and strong! She'd like to see this critter jump at some point, it was probably a very impressive display of strength.
  4. Cat perked up a bit upon realizing this was Inkwell's sister. And that Inkwell himself was here too. "Huh! Small world isn't it?" She lifted a forehoof to part a wavy lock from her face, the normally very messy little pegasus wasn't used to her hair being this light and felt odd when it tickled her muzzle like that. Truthfully, Inkwell was the only pony she could call a friend that she'd met since she left her home in Cloudsdale. She didn't have many friends in Cloudsdale as it was, she was very glad to see him here. Cat couldn't help but flutter her little wings with delight. Things seemed so much less awkward now! "Great t'meetcha, Rose! Wow, each of you must take after a different side of the family, it seems. You look nothing alike!" Cat grinned at this little family reunion in front of her. "I take after my dad mostly, 'cept for the fact that he's massive and all." She buzzed her wings to create a little gust, one that shook the dust off of her silk dress and revealed the vibrant patterns. She smiled, the dress was her own design and she'd gotten a lot of compliments that day regarding it. The little filly then trotted over to greet her friend Inkwell with a quick hug. "Nice outfitting, both of yah! Kinda out fancied me a bit even, can't beat these colors though!" Cat shot a toothy grin at them and admired the contrast of her bright paint splatters against her black leopard print. It was unusual, but the design fit her nonetheless.
  5. Cat nodded. "Well 'course not! I'm not a freeloader y'now." After lying her painting down flat on the ground, Cat stood up and turned away from it. She draped her slightly wavy tail tip in the paint, and with a quick, cracking whip of her tail, she flicked it over her picture. "Alrighty, finished!" Cat grinned and looked down at her finished piece, drops of white were scattered over the sky and made for an absolutely perfect starry scene. "Should be dry in ten minutes or so, s'no biggie." She propped her finished work up against a stiff patch of grass and admired her work with pride. "Ah, hm? Oh! Yeah, I'm Cat Napper." She grinned at the griffon, she loved meeting griffons! Fascinating, beautiful creatures! She'd love to draw this one, his feathers were such a magnificent tone. "I can fly, not a big deal. You've got quite the load there! I don't wanna be any added weight." Cat rolled onto her back with a sigh. "We leavin' soon I take it?"
  6. Requests? Oh man, your art is so lovely! Wanna try drawing Cat Napper for me...? wait, are these free? 7. Cat perked up with a slight jolt of surprise. She didn't know anypony was around! And that was a bit of an impulsive, private-ish song moment. "Oh! Heh, thanks much!" The little filly smiled and stood in her unusually fancy attire. She still couldn't believe how light her mane felt now that it was snarl-free and straightened, it floated in even the slightest breeze like a bolt of dusty silk. "I, ah, don't get a lotta time to practice. I was alone an I guess eh the full moon got to my head." She chuckled. Hm, pretty mare. Not what she had in mind particularly with her song, but company nonetheless. "Nothin's worse than not bein' able to share such a perfect night with somepony special. I don't really have anypony, 'case you couldn't tell by my lyrics." The filly sighed ad turned her gaze back to the luminescent moon. She shook away her thoughts and smiled back at her new acquaintance. "My name's Cat Napper, local artist of Ponyville. Nothin' special otherwise." The pegasus settled herself back on the bridge and hoped the stranger would introduce herself as well, maybe join her for a bit of friendly chit chat under the magnificent night sky.
  8. "Ahhh, that Hoofington girl." Cat smiled and held out a hoof for Jaegar to sit on. He tweeted happily and cocked his head to the side, staring with bright eyes right at Starflower. The alicanto loved meeting new ponies, he stretched his wings out and let them shine in the light, hoping to be admired by Cat's guest. "She gave me some interesting subjects to work with! I'm very happy to hear you liked em so much!" She nodded with a wide grin. "I'd be happy to make you somethin' for your clinic, anything in particular you were looking for?" Cat flicked her ears towards a table covered in sculptures and paintings the filly had finished earlier. "Examples of my work are over there! I do a lot of landscapes and other worldly stuff, fantasy stuff I guess. If you want somethin' cheerful I can suggest a warm toned piece, maybe sunshine over a landscape? It's all up to the client though~!"
  9. Wow, my keyboard seems to hate me today with all these typos hehe Well she's kind of a wanderer in that region, she goes wherever she can to get what she needs. And thank you ^///^
  10. I kinda meant that in the sense that she's a force no one would want to reckon with, but I see what you mean x3
  11. Name: Matilda Steelfeather, goes by Matilda or "Matti" to only her most trusted friends. Sex: Female Age: Young Adult Species: Griffin Eye Color: A vicious, piercing yellow. Physique & Colors: Half osprey, half siberian tiger. Matilda is bulky and muscular, altogether a very fearsome character. Her head feathers are the lightest silver marked with gray at the tips of her longest feathers, most of which are pulled out of her face and held back with a thin rusty chain except for three easily recognizable crest feathers bent over her right eye. Her massive wingspan is a dark brown, gradiating into a light gold at the very tips. A ring of brown crosses over her eyes in a jagged stripe. Her talons and beak are jet black, and her coat is a dusty warm gray marked with dark tiger stripes. Residence: Wandering, currently in the Painted Pinto Desert region. Occupation: Thug/Thief Character Summary: Matilda is a dangerous force to be reckoned with. An incredibly powerful, almost feral griffin, she speaks with a thick Russian accent and a brutishly cold voice. She seems harsh and distant to most, with a dominating, intimidating air around her. She takes what she wants when she wants it, anypony who has an issue with this can talk to her talons. Usually she's sneaky with her thievery, but at times she uses brute force to get something if absolutely necessary. Short tempered and quick to resort to violent intimidation, Matilda's rough side is a castle wall surrounding the hidden goodness deep inside her. She can respect those who earn it, a very difficult feat. Even more difficult still is earning her loyalty, she's devoted to the end for those she thinks are worth it. Since her earliest moments, Matilda has been raised to see ponies as carefree and stupid individuals, earning them her commonly used insult "sparklebrains". She lived with her older sister, Sigrid, for her childhood and a bit of her teen years. According to Sigrid, Matilda's parents abandoned her as a young teen and Matilda as an egg. The two worked together to fend for themselves in their home, Stalliongrad, for years. The turning point in Matilda's life came when her sister was arrested and put into prison for assaulting a carriage of rich ponies, who happened to be royal guards. And thus, young Matilda was left to grow up on the streets with nothing but her talons to defend herself with. She began wandering when she hit early adulthood, deciding that ponies elsewhere would be easier to mug than in Stalliongrad. Her heart grew cold and hard in her solitary life, secretly the griffin wishes for a companion to sit with on lonely afternoons, though she would never admit this. She longs to see her sister again, but left hope that she ever would far behind her, feeling it as a weakness. She does what she can to scrape up the necessities for living without hurting anypony, the most she'd do is give them a few bruises. She'd never kill a pony, she claims it's because they're too stupid to know any better, but it's really because of her social and protective nature that all griffins have. Matilda's mothering instinct is strong, she's got an incredible soft spot for children and would give her life to save a young one in danger. It seems to be her only weakness, but a truly special individual could win their way into her stone heart and discover if there really is more to Matilda than meets the eye, with a lot of effort and patience that is. ----->Reference sheet<-----
  12. The filly blended her colors smoothly together with an expertly trained hoof, at first not even noticing when her name was said. "Wai-huh?" She glanced up. "Oh! Yes, I've never been in a balloon before, though I never thought I'd need to!" She opened her wings as if reminding the two that she naturally could fly on her own. "Hey Ink, would you mind lending me some paint? All I brought was my pencils, I need an off white." She looked down at the smooth, deep sky she'd painted and then gazed up at the one above their heads. Stars! Her picture needed stars, and it would be perfect!
  13. Jaegar's happy tweeting alerted Cat that somepony was at her door moments before she heard a knock. "Huh, wonder who that is." The filly let her bird sit on the top of her head as she greeted her guest. "Mornin'! You here for my artwork?" She held out a hoof with a wide grin. "Name's Cat Napper, all around artist at your service! How can I help you today?" Sure, Cat was going out of town. But she'd never leave a potential client hanging. She gestured for the pony to come inside and sat down at the table she used to talk with commissioners, pulling out a chair for her guest.
  14. "♫..Ohh Ohh Oh~♫" A single, soft note rose into the tranquil of the night. The solo voice of a lonesome pony sounded in song, Cat Napper swished her braided tail in tune with her song. She tapped a forehoof on the stone bridge in a blues rhythm, performing a lone piece there on the Lover's Bridge with nopony around to admire her striking voice. Looking out over the stream, glistening with bright lunar light from the enormous full moon above, the little pegasus sighed. In her silken dress of dark leopard print, splattered with bright paint and held close to her waist with a pink band, she was definitely a striking little mare who'd dressed up brilliantly for the occasion. She looked down on the necklace she'd crafted for herself, a little metal pendant with her cutie mark painted on it with amazing detail. Her shining black horseshoes amplified the tapping of her forehooves, her large grey eyes looked out over the serenity of Luna's graceful night and she continued her breathtakingly lovely song. "♫Each morning I get up I die a little... Can barely stand on my four~♫ ♫Take a look in the mirror and cry a 'lil.. feelin' lonely right through to the core~♫ ♫I spend all my years in searchin' for you♫ ♫I just can't get no relief ohhhh... ♫ ♫Somepony, ooh somepony~♫ ♫Can anypony find me~♫ ♫somepony to love?♫" Cat's strong voice rang out for a bit, and as she closed that final note, she halted her hooves and sunk to her knees. She groaned a little, being at the Gala was fun and all, but not when she was alone. "Where is my pony...?" She asked herself softly, she moved a silky straightened lock of her dusty brown mane out of her face and sighed. Might as well just enjoy the beauty of the night, don't let all that silly romantic nonsense get her down. She lifted her gaze out over the astounding landscape, even though she enjoyed the sight she couldn't help but wonder how nice it'd be to share this moment with somepony.
  15. Cat finished her sketch quickly and began to add color with a few heavy pencils of hers. Lots of dark blue and black, deep shading and details in the grass, surrounding trees, and the dragon who's scales she colored a deep violet. Experienced with effects, the filly made it appear as though the fireflies and the dragon's eyes where glowing a bright neon yellow and illuminating the otherwise dark scene. Wrapped up deeply in her magical setting, the filly's mind was blocked out from everything surrounding her, including the conversation going on between Inkwell and Ashton. Subconsciously almost, Cat began to hum the song in her mind that she used as an inspiration for the piece. Her depiction of the area was now becoming much more lush and life filled than it actually was, fireflies dotting the scene by the dozens. She added vines to the trees, long whispy tendrils of green ferns and bio luminescent fungi surrounding the dragon on his tree stump, and even a few smaller, unknown creatures flitting through the deep blue dusk sky were added with quick pencil movements. A bit further into her melodious humming, Cat started mumbling a few words along with it. "♫...teach me how to see all thats beautiful... My senses touch your word I never pictured~♫" "♫Now I give my hope to you, I surrender.. I pray in my heart that this world never ends....♫" And she stopped, picking up the song with humming again. A little smile curled on her face, her mind was clearly in another world. The very world that she pulled most of her art subjects out of. She rarely drew real subjects, mostly everything she worked on had her own twist in it if not completely made up as her own.
  16. Me perks her ears. "Ah, yeah I know Inky! He's a good kid. Figures you'd hear about me from another art pony, heh." Cat soared in happy little dips and archs, enjoying the feel of the warm air in her mane. "Parties? Uh-uh, nope." Cat tilted her head. They really threw welcome parties for new ponies here in Ponyville? Huh! What a sweet neighborhood. "That sounds like a blast though!" Her petite body gave a happy flip in the air as she followed the group. She smiles down at Pinkie Pie. "Ahh, so you work at that wacky bakery eh?" She grinned widely. "Been meanin' to stop there for a while now! Oooh, it smells so nice when somethin's baking there." She shoots a look back at Rainbow. "Y'now Rainbow, I know art ain't your thing and all. But y'might wanna know that you've been a subject of mine a few times~" She giggles and flies upside down, reclining back in mid air to shoot a toothy grin at the cyan pegasus. "Your rainbows sure are stunning. Those works are some of my best sellers too!"

  18. Slow morning. As was usual for the little pegasus. Cat Napper could barely manage to get a grip on her sluggish self just enough to crawl out of bed and get ready for the day. "Blechhh." Cat let her tongue hang out of her mouth, dry from having slept for so long. She slunk across her apartment, stumbling once or twice over the incredible amount of pillows that lay scattered underneath her home made hammock bed. It took her a good twenty minutes to finish her shower and dry herself off, but even then she didn't feel very awake. The filly fluttered her wings and shook herself off in a very canine-like way, sending drops of water flying all over her cluttered apartment. Time to take some drastic measures, Cat thought. She sighed deeply and brought herself to her four again with great effort. The filly punched a few buttons on her stereo (surround-sound, the girl loved her music) and cranked the volume up near max. The soundtrack from a very fantasy sounding battle-scene began blasting through her rented space, more than likely waking the others she shared the building with. Such a fantastic orchestra! Cat finally began to feel slightly motivated. And those drums, she felt like saving the world to this soundtrack! After downing what to her seemed like the most epic cup of coconut coffee, Cat was awake and ready for the day. Humming along to her soundtrack, Cat was getting ready to start on a portrait for a customer when she heard a slight rapping on her window. She turned quickly, and as soon as she realized who was visiting her she turned off her soundtrack (to the relief of the others living in the apartment complex.) "Jaegar!" Cat called the name of the large falcon-like bird perched on her window sill. Cat lifted a forehoof and let the metallic bronze and gold marked bird hop onto it. Jaegar was her mother's pet Alicanto, a magnificent bird who'd been a part of Cat's family since she was a foal. Clutched in Jaegar's beak was a scroll rolled tightly with the seal of her mother's, the Alicanto usually brought mail from her parents to her once a month, more often if an important event had come up. Cat cocked her head curiously and took the letter from her pet. Her eyes scanned it and she began reading the unmistakable hoof writing of her father, Summer Solstice, out loud. "Dear Catrina, your mother and I have some rather exciting news for you. During the months you've been away we wanted to surprise you upon your return with this news, but we decided that you deserved to know right away.." Cat read on, whispering now as she read. Her wings and her jaw dropped in amazement, eyes widened and a gasp sounded from her. "..your mother is with foal." She read. Jaegar tweeted a cheerful tune when she read this, fluttering his shiny wings gleefully. Cat blinked away a few tears of joy and disbelief.. a little sibling! Oh, this was fantastic, she had to visit Cloudsdale right away to tell her parents how happy she was in person! "Jaeg, this is amazing!" Cat said in a high pitched, excited tone. She stroked the bird's glossy plumage and giggled when he nibbled at her mane playfully in response, cooing a happy bird call. Oh, but she had so much to think about. She'd recently gotten settled here in Ponyville, and had a few clients waiting for their artwork from her. "I'll take a vacation and visit them.. only for a few days." Cat decided, nodding happily. A foal! Cat was going to be a big sister!
  19. The filly indeed had begun to nod off slightly, that is until Inkwell's comment reached her ears. Cat sat up on her haunches with a little grumble. "Quiet you, I'm just a bit worn out s'all." She smiled with a look around the clearing again and pulled a sketchbook of smooth watercolor paper and a soft lead pencil out of her saddlebags. "I'm not gonna sleep away this opportunity, no way!" She crossed her hind legs and rested her sketchbook on her knees, a thoughtful look over her face. Holding the pencil between her fetlocks, she began a loose sketch of the surrounding area. With an eraser she rubbed in a few fireflies, and in the center of the clearing, on top of the ancient tree stump that she'd also drawn in, she added a dragon sitting with eyes glowing in the same tone as the fireflies around him. It was plain to anypony who would compare her work to her partner's that she had a much different, looser, more fantasy oriented style. Most of what she drew was pulled directly from her imagination with the area providing inspiration for the mood of the piece. Inkwell and Cat's styles were very different to be sure, but both were just as fantastic as the other. The two ponies were very much alike, but also very different. They could learn a lot from eachother, Cat thought as she etched a smile on the dragon's face.
  20. Cat fluttered her wings happily following the lights produced by a few fireflies when she heard her name being called. "Wha..huh?" Her head snapped around and she tilted it questioningly. With a dainty spring off of the ground Cat became airborne again. "Not a problem, I gotcha Inky." She nodded and was at the scene in no time, hovering next to the broken branch. "Hmm.." Cat looked at it thoughtfully, trying to come up with the easiest way to move it without damaging the balloon further. "Oh! I got this." The light bulb went off, after puzzling out a simple solution, Cat turned tail towards the branch and struck out with a strong kick aimed at the base of the branch. It cracked and leaned over in the opposite direction, now completely out of the balloon's way. "You're welcome." She smiled with a small chuckle and landed back beneath the tree. Her eyes darted off towards the fireflies again, but she decided to stick around here in case she was needed again. She folded her forehooves with a sigh and rested her chin on them. Boy, would this be a noce place for a nap or what?
  21. Cat brightened up a bit as Lucky showed her the painting she'd made of her Cloudsdale home. Always fantastic to have another artist in the making! "Looks great Lucky! You seem to have a talent for art." The painting as of course a bit rough, but for a foal the age Lucky was it was pretty impressive. "So you're from Cloudsdale too huh? If y'ask me that town's a bit too much hustle and bustle." Cat almost wanted to facehoof at the mention of flight school and bullying. "Good grief, you too?" Cat's lips pulled back in as close to a snarl as a pony could get. "I just muscled my way outta flight school. Cloudsdale's got a real bullying issue. Y'now I didn't get my cutie mark until fairly recently?" The filly rolled her eyes with a scoff. "Jeez, if I had a bit every time I heard the term 'blank flank' I'd be runnin' this town." She smiled warmly at Lucky and added on. "You're better than anypony who needs to bully to make themselves feel good, just remember that sweetie." That was the truth, and the very truth that kept the little filly going through year after year until graduation from flight school.
  22. Cat tilted her head, wondering how in the world these ponies knew her without knowing her profession. "S'alright, art isn't everypony's thing." She nodded in understanding to Rainbow and Stawberry. "I was just wondering, I make a living offa my stuff so I was kinda hopin' that you'd heard of me from somewhere." The filly flittered her wings happily when she was reminded that the three of them were just about to leave for a tour of Ponyville. Here was an activity for the rest of the day. Cat gave one final, enormous yawn and stretched her back in mid air. "None of you mind if I tag along right?" she decided to clarify this first as was force of her polite nature. "I'm still kinda new around here, might be helpful to see what's around town."
  23. Cat Napper's, with a bit of a techno/trance beat going along; Oh the Gala such a wonder, Think of all who would attend! With a new look and a friendly face, I'll be there 'til it ends! I don't think I'll soon forget this night! What a blast it's gonna be! Bet I'll brighten up the dance for sure, little happy filly me! It'll be so great, I can hardley wait! Tonight at the Gala~!
