Hearts and hooves was named as such because there is no St. Valentines in pony history.

It kinda makes sense in Ponyville, since hero worship is decreased by actually knowing the individual. But when they are in Appleloosa or Canterlot, it is surprising.

Especially during the Canterlot parties - it's like they're noponies from small town Equestria, rather than ponies who saved Equestria (twice). And how nothing is even mentioned in passing about their exploits.

How the Mare 6 are never recognized as national heroes outside the first 2 episodes of each season. It's like the events in those episodes never happened.

Also, everything Pinkie Pie does.

It does not strain the imagination to suspect that the Unicorns were offered, and that they turned it down in the name of inter-pony unity. They had not had that task in a long time, and perhaps they had long filled the void with other duties and responsibilities. If a few generations had gone by, it would make sense that they were not feeling slighted.

I also suspect that before Celestia and Luna took control of the Sun and Moon, the ponies probably had a class-based society with unicorns as the ruler mages, pegasi as the military and Earth ponies as the farmer peasants. Probably led to some dissatisfaction, fights, rebellions etc. - fanfic fuel

Definitely. If it does happen, I think it'll be the first 2 episodes of Season 3.

but what im saying is have an episode where the overall tone of it is a bit more stern then that of the traditional formula. like i said you bring up great points about the eps in seasn 2, but the overall tones of these eps were still campy and used the more serious elements as subplots as fuel for friendship lessons.

Like an event which actually has an impact on the rest of the series? Well, I think that's Hasbro's way of staying safe because of the target demographic (look at what happened at the Derpy drama). Also I was told that Hasbro has a requirement where the episodes must be able to be shown in any order

I like the discussion about the show, expanding/speculating on stuff not shown in the canon. I don't have a favorite pony, but I tend to like Luna, Twilight and Fluttershy more. I enjoy the memes, fan videos/art but don't do any myself because I can't draw to save my life
