1. I really liked this one. Not huge laugh out loud moments, but lots of little fun bits.

Dash splatting against the skylight and Rarity's face during it were both fantastic.

I really like that pony with the pale yellow coat and light green mane. Fans have dubbed her "Chickadee"

Yes, the "wrong pony" bit was predictable, so much so that I was convinced it was a double-bluff, and that she actually was the inspector. Ah well.

Lyra smiled as the cart lurched on its way, a pleasant breeze tousling her mane. "Thanks Doctor, that sounds perfect."

    One week later...

Lyra trotted down Ponyville's Stirrup Street with a spring in her step. She stopped out side a shop where a large wooden sign showed the name "Happy Snap's Photography". Lyra's pictures would be done by now. She opened the door and went inside.

"Ah, good morning Lyra!" came the voice of Happy Snaps. "I have your pictures ready. I'm afraid there was a little damage to some of them; some sand got into the mechanism somehow. You really need to be more careful with your camera." she said.

"Ahahaha, I'm sorry Mrs. Snaps. It won't happen again." replied Lyra. "I'm sure the pictures will be fine though."

She picked up the stack of photos handed to her and began browsing through them. The sand had scratched the lens, and some of the pictures had lines running through them. Lyra squinted at one blurry picture, unable to make out what it might have been, until she turned it upside down and she could make out the familiar head of a clockwork pony. She dumped that one in the trash.

There was one picture that stood out amonst the rest. In it, two ponies posed for the camera, the brown stallion with his hoof wrapped around the shoulders of the blue mare while waves crashed dramtically behind them. Lyra's mind was drawn back to that day when she met the crazy earth pony and the loudmouth unicorn that are now her friends.

"Mrs. Snaps? I'd like this one enlarged and framed please."

    ****************************************

That afternoon, Lyra sat at her desk with a quill and paper. The framed picture was hanging neatly on her bedroom wall. She dipped the quill in a pot of ink and began to write.

    "Dear Doctor and Trixie..."

    THE END

  3. Good episode! I got quite a few laugh out loud moments (always a good sign for an episode) and a few d'aaawwww moments (especially with RD and Tank).

    Spike time is best time.

Zecora: Give me a gem, and I'll teach you the secret.

    Spike: Okay

Zecora: LOL, you're so greedy! *gives away gem*.

Huh. I mean, I guess if she knew about dragon greed she was just looking out for him, but it seems a bit mean. Oh well, I'm sure the filly scouts will put it to good use.

Darn it Hub, I was hoping the crystal ball in the previews would be important!

So... Twilight called Spikes claws "hands." Dragons have hands now?

Claws and hands are not mutually exclusive. His claws are on the ends of his fingers, which in turn are attached to his hands.

"Lyra Heartstrings, this *was* our stop for a bite to eat with less monsters."

Lyra stared for longer than was probably comfortable for the good Doctor. This stallion was mad, pure and simple. She shook her head in disbelief.

“Well the Great and Powerful Trixie believes the good Doctor here owes us both a real meal after today’s adventure, don’t you Lyra hon?"

"Yes, I think you're right, Trixie." replied Lyra, carefully ignoring the "hon". "A big meal. With desserts" she added meaningfully. There was no way she was letting this madness go on without something sweet and fattening inside her. She could just lose the extra weight at the next Running of the Leaves.

“The lovely and single Trixie is pleased you’ll be joining us for dinner. It’ll be great, two lovely mares on the ocean, the warm breeze in our manes, and you can regale to Trixie all about what brought your lovely self here in the first place.”

Lyra took Trixie's hoof and allowed the blue unicorn to pull her up into the cart properly. At this point she was too tired to rebuff the amourous pony's advances, so she merely said "Sure, Trixie. Sounds good."

(I'll try and post more often than once a month from now on. Do poke me if I disappear for too long, won't you?)

  5. Lol, that tea party. And there was a clear 4th wall breakage there towards the beginning.

A generally hilarious episode. Any dislike I once had for Discord is now (mostly) gone.

Fridge horror: Discord was trapped in stone for 1000 years... fully aware.

More horror: Reforming spell sounds kinda like a mind-control spell. o_o

    Now... regarding the ending:

    tumblr_me5wqaEsjS1r0eg4y.gif

The ending. What? I mean, I'm sure that's a pacing issue, but... what?

The majority of this episode was fantastic, but the sudden switch felt unbelievable. It just didn't feel right. Like, did he even understand what a friend was? Exactly WHY was having one important to him? Because he'd never had one before? I understand that friends are great and all, but did he even have time to appreciate what a friend is? What a friend does? As far as I can tell, he thought that a friend was someone who let him get away with whatever he wanted.

I'm not saying I hated it, I just feel like there needed to be a more gradual shift, or at the very least, an explanation as to why Discord wanted a friend when he never seemed to care before.

Well, he did say he would MOSTLY use his power for good at the end. I like that he's not totally reformed yet. Maybe we'll see some more chaos from him soon. :P

  6. Glad everyone enjoyed this! It was definitely a fun one.

Now, I have a request. I love doing these games, and it's always fun to see how things progress from person to person. However, I would love to have a chance to participate in the game without knowing all the previous entries, just once. I want to be able to do a line or a drawing without knowing what came before so I can get that "what the heck?" moment, and then see the final result all laid out for the first time. :D

So, would anyone else be interested in running a game? No pressure, I'll still do the next one if no one wants to. Just figured I'd ask. You're more than welcome to straight up copy my OP if that helps. :)

  7. I decided to start with something a bit ambiguous, as always:

The Wonderbolts defend a pony from a scary monster.

    Which BrainedBySaucepans drew as this:

    tp7___bbs_by_brainedbysaucepans-d5qlg11.png

BBS: "And no, I have no idea what's up with that carrot...."

    MyLittlePonyTales described it thusly:

A shadowy Discord reveals a glowing carrot to a stunned Carrot Top, while Spitfire and Soarin' prepare to grab it.

    And Davroth drew this:

    dkBir.png

Phil's interpretation of the picture went like this:

Two swift ponies compete for Discord's carrot.

Which led to Ping111's masterpiece (and our first character change of the game)

    IT%27S%20A%20MASTERPIECE.png

Note: I'm not making fun. The filename is IT'S A MASTERPIECE.png

Linkhopper tells it like it is:

A lovely carrot shoots out of discords nostril, landing on rainbow dash, lighting dust then proceeds to immediately fall in love with the carrot.

Which Weesh gave us a different spin on:

    telpic7_zps39392f38.jpg

OilWells cuts to the heart of the matter:

"Lightning Dust found Rainbow Dash's discomfort fairly amusing."

And AngieCakes knew just how to portray this:

    telepic001_zps1f7d1d3a.jpg

Tenkan's line pushes us in yet another new direction:

Spitfire mocks a pony's involuntary gender change.

Fawkes' picture is a sad day for Soarin':

    Telly20Pic-page-001_zps20c29ef7.jpg

Leading to the final line of the game by StarStorm:

Spitfire is annoyed that Lightning Dust named a pie bar with lesbian Wednesdays after her

And there we have it fillies and gentlecolts! Good game!

I'll do a follow up post a bit later once folks have had time to look over this.
