  1. Hey guys! Figured I'd make a separate post to announce this.

I am gonna be starting up a Weekly Donation Stream - I'm calling it Ponies for Pocket Change.

At least ONCE a week I am going to make it my goal to do free requests of pony art! The stream will generally be around 2-3 hours, starting at 9-10pm, Central time.

So if you want a doodle, get there quick! I take requests two at a time - one to work on, the second to fill the slot. As I finish each one I will take a new one to fill the second slot. Please don't fight! I keep a mental record of who is next so if you try and cheat or whine, no doodle for you!

The free doodles will be of this quality:

    http://i1109.photobu...30_47_17812.png

    http://i1109.photobu...yn/beachnut.png

The whole time I do doodles I will be avidly spamming my paypal for donations! Even a dollar is appreciated! If you wish to donate, you can through my personal website - there is a handy paypal donations button there.

    Personal Website: http://opalice.weebly.com/

If you want your sketch to be flat colored right there, it costs money however! Only 2 usd though :P

It will be of this quality when finished:

    http://i1109.photobu...alyn/shiver.png

    http://i1109.photobu...lyn/moony-1.png

    Rules:

    * Keep things G rated. General audiences.

    * I will do light shipping of all characters, every pairing. Up to two characters. Just give me references.

    * One doodle per pony there!

    * If there is ANY sort of fighting, trolling, or general meaness in the chat, said pony who started it will be banned for the stream! If I happen to be working on something, I stop work on it immediately and won't resume work until next stream, and if said pony apologizes.

I also plan on having any close friends of mine who come to watch the stream be promoted to moderators in the chat - what they say goes. I usually have to close the chat window while I draw so I might miss some conversation if things really get going, and I need ponies to watch and make sure stuff doesn't go awry. Remember - they're the boss!

I am also linking my Tumblr and Twitter to this livestream channel, so I can announce both places when I am streaming!

Please check them out and be sure to follow!

    http://kudalyn.tumblr.com/

    http://twitter.com/#!/Kudalyn

    And finally, the stream link!

    http://www.livestrea...change?t=945314

I will ALSO put up a new post HERE when one starts, and edit it when the stream ends. So be sure to keep your eye out here too! If you're on the IRC, shout it out there for me too!

  2. Spike

Spike yawned, dragging his blanket down the stairs tiredly behind him as he walked to the main floor. He remembered just before he fell asleep - he needed to at least write something out for the Princess before the day was up, or he'd forget what he wanted to tell her. He'd send it out in the morning after he woke up.

He plodded over to the drawer with all the quills, parchment and ink in it, pulling out one of each and simply sitting on the floor in front of it, too tired to take it over to the table.

    Dear Princess Celestia.

Before I forget, I want to thank you for coming all the way to Ponyville to help out with Twilight's fiasco today. She really did lose it, didn't she?

She tends to do that a lot - worry about the small stuff and forget what's really important.

Despite all her organization and smarts, she can't see what's right in front of her half the time! I guess that makes Twilight, Twilight though.

I really tried to talk her down today, but MAN she was worked up! I've never seen her so whacked out! Normally I can calm her down but she just wouldn't listen to me! I figured nopony else but you would be able to get through to her in the end.

Oh, also thank you for not banishing Twilight to Magic Kindergarten. I didn't really believe you would.... really. BUT just in case the thought went through your head, thank you for not doing it! It would really suck having to stay here all alone in Ponyville without her - or would you have sent me off to magic kindergarten with her?

Anyways, Thanks again. I really owe you one!

    -Spike

  3. ~Rarity~

"Well, this little town is far more than it first appears. After all, why else would I be in such a little backwater village instead of the regal Canterlot? Ignoring the fact that my professors at the University of Magical Fashion and Design didn't know what 'taste' was even if it slapped them in the face." She said, muttering the last part quickly under her breath and disguising it by holding her mocha in front of her lips.

She daintily took a sip, savoring the taste as it slid over her tongue.

"Speaking of experiences, you must tell me what it is you've been up to in Ponyville! Have you decided if you're going to make this a permanent home, or are you only visiting for the season? The change of season festivals are always the talk of the town, so you MUST at least stay for one of the festivals!"

She said eagerly, munching lightly on her danish and dabbing the honey sugar off her mouth with a napkin.

  4. ~Rarity~

"Sweetie Belle, you turn around and help me THIS INSTANT!" Rarity yelled out shrilly at the door after hearing her little sister say something that sounded like not letting her down... That little filly. Honestly.

Rarity sighed, leaning right up against the door. "Scootaloo? You there too? Now darlings, I seem to be in a little bit of a predicament. Could you grab the door handle and try to open up the door from your side? The handle came off on this side and I'm locked in!"

She said sweetly, trying to encourage the foals to work together to help her out. If this doesn't work.... who knows what she'd have to do next. This is the worst..possible... thing... EVER!!

  5. Hey dudes....

I feel bad about this, but I'm gonna have to put all my OC RPs on hold.

My cast characters (Rarity and Spike) I will continue to post as them, but I have too much art to think about to be worried about my other OCs as well.

I sincerely apologise to those who are in RPs with my OCs. But right now, I need to focus on my art.

You will probably still see me around the forums from time to time where I am needed, I'll pop up in the IRC from time to time too. But mostly I will be doing artsy-fartsy stuff.

So, Please watch my Canterlot Gallery, my Deviantart, and my Tumblr for constant art updates! Specially my question tumblr, Question the Kudas, to see what antics my OCs will be getting into there!

Thank you, and I apologise again.

  6. Hippocamps:

    te99kkV.png?1

    (Art by community artist MudBug)

Ocean based ponies. Bottom half of their body is a marine animal tail, Usually a dolphin or some sort of generic whale. Rare cases are narwhals, where the tusk/horn grows from the center of the pony's skull, like a Unicorn, not their base of magical power. All hippocamps have some sort of small magical ability retaining to water.

All hippocamps have very little magical abilities. Most are simply tricks they developed to scare away sailors and pirates from their underwater villages. Usually involve some sort of bubble manipulation, from putting voices inside the bubbles to pop at the surface and scare away sailors, or heating the water to make a sudden bank of fog to make sailors lose their way. In extreme cases a group of hippocamps get together and create a huge pocket of bubbles which causes the water to become mostly air, sinking whole ships in minutes. They are not the cause of whirlpools however - those are naturally occurring.

Hippocamps are vegitarian/herbivores - they eat aquatic plants and the occasional land plant delicacy. Hippocamps are also able to be on land for small amounts of time - usually one to two hours. After that they need to find some sort of moisture to hydrate themselves or their pelt starts to dry up, becoming very easy to injure. Think of a bad sunburn. If it's raining or foggy, or even very humid, Hippocamps can stay on land for longer periods of time for their pelt doesn't dry out too fast.

Hippocamps can also easily switch from air to water breathing. Very adaptable in that sense.

Hippocamps can live in oceans, rivers, and inland lakes. They are never found in a lake that does not have some sort of river system that connects to the ocean. Hippocamps are naturally ocean-dwelling creatures and only migrate inland either by accident or on purpose. Hippocamps need to migrate back to the sea upon winter for they cannot survive in very cold environments. Hippocamps usually live in pods in villages dotting the ocean, or migrate to the large hippocamp/kelpie underwater city by Gallapocous Island.

Hippocamps tend to be naturally enamored by shiny trinkets and baubles. Most just collect shiny things off the ocean floor - city hippocamps become very vain and tend to hoard shiny things, specially jewelry and house ornaments. They are also, in the rich sector, obsessed with always being beautiful and elegant. The middle to poor class are along the same lines as normal land ponies - living together, having a family, ect. Think of it as Rich - Manehattan, Mid/poor - Ponyville.

City hippocamps get along well with land ponies, while ocean hippocamps tend to be more shy, taking a while to fully trust land ponies. Once they do they make lasting friendships with land ponies.

    Kelpies:

    bbBDUR9.png?1

    (Art by community artist MudBug)

Ocean based ponies. Bottom half of their body is a marine creature, generally some type of shark. Kelpies have very little magical ability and tend to rely on their natural instincts.

The most kind of magic a Kelpie can muster is being able to find food in any kind of situation, no matter how dire. They are very hardy and can live in nearly every kind of aquatic environment, even marshes. Kelpies can also survive on land just the same way a hippocamp can - albeit it's a bit difficult for them to manouver around due to their horizontal spines.

Kelpies are carnivores/omnivores. They will always prefer meat, and usually eat aquatic animals/fish. They never eat hippocamps however - too similar to themselves. Kelpies are mischevious by nature, and tend to get into trouble in large groups. Their natural instinct makes them pick on each other, so it's difficult for them to live in large groups. The largest group of them live in the underwater city near the Gallapocous Island - that sector of the city is often in chaos.

Kelpies get along well with land ponies no matter where they are, despite the large differences between them. Land ponies often are intimidated by the kelpie's mischievous attitude and mouthful of sharp teeth. Once they get to know them and get accustomed to their nature, they often get along easily.

Kelpies don't have a specific affinity towards any object or animal. They do enjoy teasing the local fauna whereever they live. Kelpies are very stong and tough, and can even out-muscle/manouver a hydra out of it's territory, or subdue it if it's acting up.

  7. ~Aqua Drop~

"Oh come on, where's your sense of fun?" She giggled at him, half-hauling herself out of the water so she could rest her front half on land, her tail idly splashing in the water behind her.

She flicked her wet mane out of her face, brushing it to one side. She smiled at the startled stallion, laughing to herself at his startled expression and odd pose as he caught his breath on the grass.

"So, How have you been? Last time I saw you you shared that sandwich-thing with me. I still don't like bread, but the inside bits I really like now." She smiled.

  8. ~Aqua Drop~

Aqua kept flopping along, wincing slightly. With all the movement and excitement, some of the seaweed had worn off of the bark she tied to the end of her tail, and it was beginning to chafe on her pelt a little. She seriously wasn't built for land! She didn't let the others catch on though - last thing she needed was Granola to start freaking out again, and make Inkwell and Tempest become even more uncomfortable!

Best thing would be to get her back to more 'friendly waters'. She snorted to herself at her super-lame joke. Finally reaching the edge of town, Aqua kept on moving forward, but with each step-flop she found it a bit harder to move forward. She looked up - of course, there was the hill she had rolled down when she first entered town. And of course, not having any hind legs was making her trek very very difficult.

She struggled up a few more steps, but soon lost her footing and started to slide backwards.

Panicking a little, she dug in her front hooves, digging little trenches in the grass and dirt before managing to come to a stop. Last thing she'd need was to go flying backwards into town again!

"Er.... can... can I have a little help please?"

  9. ~Rarity~

"Such a gentlepony! I truly appreciate your generosity! In that case, may I have extra foam on my mocha, and a light dusting of your Imperial Honey Sugar on my danish, please." She said when she turned to the cashier. hiding her triumphant smile.

She wasn't trying to take advantage of Inkwell... it's just that the colt should ALWAYS pay for the lady. It was just the way of chivalry! She had barged into the shop before Inkwell did, and she was sure he would have opened the door for her if he had been able to!

She took her danish and mocha, daintily floating it over to a cute little table right by the window. A young couple tried to take the table before she got there, but a well-placed glare sent the foolish young things scampering to another table without a peep. She sat down elegantly, taking a sip of her mocha and watched as Inkwell stood at the counter with a bit of a blush on his cheeks.

  10. ~Rarity~

Rarity sighed, her forehead resting on the door. She strained her ears to listen for the sound of little clopping hooves on the tiles... nothing.

She sighed yet again, her brain whirring to try and come up with a solution.... Sure, even if the fillies found her locked in there, it's not like they'd be able to get her OUT.... maybe she could get them to run off and get Twilight or somepony else... Applejack could always buck the door in... even though that would damage the varnish on the door it would be better than her trying to ungracefully squeeze out the tiny window in the storage room...

"This is SO unladylike." She said as she decided to give yelling another try. This time, she took some fabric and with her magic rolled it into a cone shape, the big end pointing towards the door.

"Sweetie, Scootaloo, dearies! Can you two be helpful little fillies AND COME HERE THIS INSTANT?!"

She roared into the cone, the fabric roll acting like a megaphone and forcing the sound out beyond the door. Quickly she whisked to the door, pressing her ear to the wood to listen for any sounds... and this time she heard at least one set of little hooves trotting down the hallway.

"Yes! Sweetie, Scootaloo, ANYPONY! I'm in the fabric room! Second one to the left!" She yelled at the door, grateful at least somepony heard her!

  11. Iron Pony: Not sure. Seems a bit... too competitive for our site, but I'll mention it to the other staff.

Rift into crossover world: Personally I'm not partial to that idea - the reason we HAVE the crossover world is for all the different ideas that don't suit the Mane RP to have a home for themselves... I think a crossover from the Crossover would just be too chaotic!

Winter Wrap Up: As far as I know, we ARE hoping to have a WWU event, but that probably won't be until next year, when spring rolls around. SO we still have lots of time to plan and prepare for that - in the mean time, we're working on what exactly our winter events will be! We have some fun ideas, and I can't wait for everything to start moving!

  12. <Spike>

"Everything You Ever Needed To Know About Material Stresses, But Never Wanted to Hear About' by Sturdy Planks? I think we have a copy in the library right now..." Spike said, tapping his chin thoughtfully after he put his armful of books down.

He whisked to the nearest ladder against the far wall, quickly scaling it and pushing himself a bit to one side, the rollers on the ladder letting him whiz over the shelves with ease. With a practiced eye, Spike suddenly stopped in the middle of a shelf, triumphantly pulling a thick, heavy-bound book out from between the other books.

"Ah hah! Found it! I knew we had one here... I'm just glad it wasn't in that book pile we just created. That was only under the 'J' section though - this one was under 'E'!" He said, trotting with his stubby little legs over to the Unicorn, heavy book held over his head.

He caught the shy-looking pony from the corner of the room keep glancing at him over the book he randomly pulled off the shelf.... so absorbed in NOT being noticed he hasn't noticed that the book he was holding... was upside down. Spike simply sighed and shook his head a little - seriously! He'd been in Ponyville for nearly a year now, you'd think ponies would be used to his handsome and regal appearance!

He held the book out under Scale Model's nose. "Here you go! Need anything else?"

  13. ~Apple Mallow~

Mallow carelessly floated down the path, her hooves dangling just above the puddles as she used her wings to catch the crisp autumn breeze. She was still licking her sap-covered hoof, her head so full of various candy-making ideas that she hardly noticed all the commotions going around her.

It seemed like the had caught up with most of the other contestants finally, as many of them had been slowed down by the sap puddles that were literally all over the race trail. But all her thoughts of the race were completely abolished by the recipes she was making up in her head. She passed a group of ponies eagerly trying to assist a fellow pegasus who had been completely stuck in a particularly large sap puddle, a few sets of ponies passed her as well - a couple who seemed to be in a very embarrassing debate, a prissy-looking filly and a grandma being hauled around in a cart, a very frightened looking unicorn who dashed off as fast as she could... so many of these ponies seemed to have forgotten that this was a actual race!

It wasn't until she literally flew right into another pony who was stumbling along, seemingly trying to shake dirt and leaves off of her sap-coated hoof that Mallow really took notice to her surroundings. The black unicorn finally tumbled down into a bush on the side of the path, leaving Mallow to cartwheel through the air before she managed to stop tumbling.... upside down. Bewildered, she looked around. She looked up - there was the ground. She looked down - there was the sky. She snorted and giggled as she floated around upside down for a bit, enjoying the change in scenery.

The black unicorn that she flew into was grumbling and cursing as she tried to pull herself out of the bush, her sap-coated hooves and tangled tail wasn't helping any. Mallow decided the best way to apologize for running into her was to help her.

She turned herself right side up and fluttered over to the trapped unicorn.

    "May I be of help?"

  14. ~Apple Mallow~

The number 82 danced on the white pegasus' flank as she trotted down the path, her hooves trotting daintily over the multi-colored leaves that decorated the forest floor.

Apple Mallow hummed to herself as she trotted along down the path, looking around at all the wonderful colors the leaves were. She skipped around a few rocks in the path, bouncing along happily, not really caring at all about the race. She had been in it since the beginning.... but she didn't know what place she was in. She didn't really care either... races weren't really her thing. They were more her sister's, Strawberry Orange's, but since she was off on a long delivery run today she wasn't able to enter. Orange begged Mallow to enter for her, to at least tell her how the race went. So, being the good older sister, Mallow entered for her.

"I wonder how Orange is doing... she had a larger than average order run to do, and she's going to be gone all day... I hope nothing bad happens to the weather.." Mallow said to herself, thinking out loud. She usually did it, even when there were ponies around her. But, she hadn't seen any other ponies for quite some time, so she had no worries.

"Well, Orange can handle herself, I know that. But still, one bad storm and who knows what would happen to the treats being delivered! I wrapped the boxes in a water-proof bag just to be sure but..."

    *whump*

Not looking out for where her hooves went, Mallow stepped in one of the sap puddles that were becoming more numerous as she walked, faceplanting right into the dirt. She sat there for a second as stars danced behind her eyes.

"WOAH! That's what I get for not paying attention!" She said right out loud as she sat up, laughing at herself. "I haven't fallen that badly since I was a filly!"

She stood back up, flapping her wings a bit to get the dirt off of them.... and characteristic of her, didn't even notice the dirt all over her face and chest. She looked down at her hooves, curious as to what tripped her.

"Candy sticks.... what is this stuff?" She said out loud again, trying to tug her hoof out of the sticky residue. No matter how hard she pulled, her hoof would snap right back into the sap, the sticky gunk refusing to let go.

"Well, this won't do me any good. Let's try something else." She said, opening her wings and trying to take to the air. With more 'horsepower' behind her pulling, her hoof started to leave the sap, but my bit, the sap stretching out as it tried to hang on.... and finally let go with a loud SNAP.

Mallow cartwheeled through the air as she sap finally let go, reorienting herself in mid-air. She looked at her hoof, which still had the sap stuck to it. Being a pegasus, and only living in Ponyville a short while, she had NO idea what sap was. She looked at it... sniffed it.... and finally, licked it.

"It's sweet!" She said delightedly, giving her hoof a few more licks. "It's light, but has potential.... I wonder if I could use it for any of my candies... I'll have to experiment with it's boiling point..." She started off on a candy-making tangent, carelessly floating off down the general direction of the path as she somewhat resumed the race with her mind filled with candy thoughts and her face and chest still covered in dirt.

    (sorry it's so long >.<; )

  15. <Spike>

Spike sighed as the pony pulled herself out of the destruction, shaking her head. She seemed a bit wobbly on her hooves, but otherwise seemed alright. He sighed a big sigh of relief. Remembering he heard yet another voice at the doorway, he turned to see a very confused looking stallion peering in the door.

"Oh! I think we're okay now, but thanks. Just had a little bit of a mess, not a big surprise in this place!" He said, picking up a few books around him and helping Shadow out with her tidying up. As he put some more books away, he spotted yet ANOTHER pony in the corner of the room, acting like they were trying to keep out of view. He eyeballed the odd stallion a bit, noting his out-of-town air. But he merely shrugged and kept tidying up - books were more important right now.

Today was turning out to be a very busy day!

  16. ~Rarity~

Rarity's eyes widened as a roll of her brand-new imported oriental silk rolled across the muddy hoofprints on the floor, plopping right into a big pile of dirt outside the door.

Her eye twitched visibly, her ears quivering as she held in her shock.

"Scootaloo, Sweetie, dears. C-can you two give me a minute?" She said with as much sweetness as possible, it only coming out very strained. She swiftly turned on her hoof, trotting stiff-legged down the hallway to open the closest door and disappear inside, the door slamming shut behind her.

Now in the safety of her fabric room, she took a deep breath and stuffed her face into the nearest box of loose fabric.

She let out a long, agonized, and very unlady-like screech into the fabric, which muffled her yells just enough. Lifting her head back up as she took deep breaths to calm herself, she smoothed her mane which had gotten rumpled in the fabric box.

"Now, Rarity. The two are just...fillies. They don't know any better.... specially Sweetie. It's not her fault she appears to be the clumsiest filly on four hooves, who can't organize or help or do anything to save her life beyond being able to breathe!" She said to herself, her anger once again getting the best of her at the end of her sentence. Shaking her head, she closed her eyes and took a few more breaths to calm herself. As much as Sweetie agonized her, she was her little sister. And she loved her dearly. It was just... sometimes she pushed Rarity to her limits.

Now a bit more calm, Rarity turned to the door to head back out to where the fillies were. She put her hoof to the doorknob.... only for it to come off in her hoof. She stared at it for a second, before realizing... she had forgotten she had walked into her fabric room... with the wonky doorknob. Turns out that final door slam broke the door, and jammed it into the frame.

Rarity shoved against the door... no change. She used her magic to try and inch the door out of the frame... still no change. She gave an aggravated sigh.... today, was not a good day.

    "SWEEEEETIEEEEE!"

  17. ~Rarity~

"Well, it sounds to me like you made the best of your unfortunate experience! Despite the unpleasant subject, the art itself is very wonderful."; She said, nodding to Inkwell. "Myself... well. Let's just say the whole experience lead me to have a whole different level of appreciation for mane care products..." She chuckled a little bit, trailing off a bit.

She stomped slightly on the ground with her front hooves, clearing her mind as she cleared her throat."Now, shall we head off to the cafe? We've been talking for so long already, the store's only a block away! I can already smell their elegant cafee mocha, and can already taste their scrumptious lavender and berry danishes!" Rarity said, taking the lead as she trotted down the street ahead of Inkwell.

  18. Strawberry Fields

"Well... I think we'll be needing some new hinges... " She said, peeping over Swift's shoulder. As the dust cleared, she looked around the open room, taking in the sheet-covered furniture and the light filtering in through the dusty shutters on the window.

"Ex-excuse me..." She said, squeezing through the doorway beside Swift as she made her way into the room. She walked gingerly, testing each floorboard and wincing at each creak the floor made. She managed to make her way to the window, where she managed to crank open the old window with much effort. Leaning her weight against the closed shutter, she heaved against it again and again, but to no avail.

"Looks like these things either need some serious oil... or a good kick."

  19. 'Blake' is a white tiger character from a tv series that ran a while back called... "Father of the Pride' I believe. Showed the secret lives behind the animals at that one super popular magic show in las vegas.... can't remember the duo's name. They use white lions and white tigers alot.

And Hi. I'm Kuda, the resident staff lurker and artist and whatever ponies want me to do. :)

  20. Bweh~

Sorries! *bows* >.<; I've been rather... well, busy, and out of it at the moment. While there isn't a moment when I'm NOT thinking about the boards and what I have to do for everyone, but I've just been a little burnt out lately. I've found I've been kinda lazing around, not working on things I REALLY should be. And that's just not fair! But I've been drawing ALOT lately, more than what I'm normally used to. Just adjusting here, is all.

Also, I think I'm a lil depressed cause my bestie and boyfriend are both going off to school and I have to wait another year before I can go again... and I'll be way far behind them. Well, it's my fault this is happening, but it doesn't mean I'm not gonna get depressed. Oh well, what can you do.

    And.... I'm still not used to the new board XD Still gonna take some time before I'm used to it! ^^;

So, hope the people in my RPs see this message: I'M SORRY I hope to get back into RP-ing mode soon!

To my fellow committee members: I'm sorry I've been so behind lately - I'll still keep in contact and do my best to do what I can, despite my uselessness lately :geek:

So, tl;dr - I'm a lazy bum, hope to improve soon, please keep poking me till I get back to normal! :blah:

  21. Well, Tales has covered alot of ground there. Hi! I'm Kuda, the resident.... I'm not sure. XD I help out with the RPs, along with keeping an eye out on the gallery and working on art for the boards.

One way we try and help everyone here have fun is we run events! Scheduled RP events with specific themes, usually with events that have happened in the show. We ran a very successful Grand Galloping Gala for our first event, and I know for a fact I had fun with it!

We also run contests. We recently finished our own 'Create your Dream Foal' contest, where members of the board were encouraged to design a foal from any two cast members.... we got ones from every pairing imaginable! We got many more entrants than we expected, and everything ran great!

We the helpstaff try and interact as much with the members as we can, and listen to each and every one of their issues, ideas, and problems. We never just dismiss somebody for an issue, we do our best to resolve and repair the issue following the brony rule! Love and tolerance!

I do hope you stay and experience for yourself what kind of fun we have here! It's one thing for us to tell you, it's another for you to go out and have fun yourself!

Is what I was going to say. Anyways. I doubt you will come back, but I need to say this. And I rarely speak out like this.

    Ever.

Tales DID ask what your home site was... in their very first post. It's at the bottom, if you cared to read it completely.

And another thing. If you wanted to know about the site.... why not actually look around and see for yourself how fun this place can be, not dismiss it without so much as a turn of the head. If you wanted to know even more, why not ask one of the staff members instead of trying to find out information in such a backhanded way?

Thank you for giving me a very negative view of your website, which I have never heard of by the way. Thank you.
