1. West Side, Can't Town West Side was music producer 'Kaneigh' West's affectionate nickname for his home, the largest estate in a certain area of Canterlot, Can't Town was his nickname for Canterlot when he name dropped it in his raps. As a long time resident of the area Mr. West was well known, both for being legendarily hard to get along with and legendarily into the ladies. He wasn't especially vulgar or tasteless, his clothes were well picked, his hair and wings well-kempt, his conversational skills were advanced. But he was just notorious for his ego, his tendency to be condescending, and his tendency to just be hard to deal with period. And he wasn't apologetic about it. He had heard that there were some new arrivals in the neighborhood, and that they were possibly famous mares from another part of Equestria. Kaneigh's ego was such that he rarely payed attention to news outside of Canterlot's local society. He had more than enough to work with, with the ridiculousness that was the stratification of Canterlot society. He was that rare eccentric man who had the wealth of the aristocracy but preferred to keep more ordinary company. He sort of stood out though, with his designer jackets tailored to his wings, his expensive eyeshades, and his expensive cars- or 'whips', as he loved to call them. He was in one of those 'whips' now, cruising an easy speed down one of the pedestrian streets. He saw two women near an orange house, they both looked like outsiders to Canterlot society. And they both looked pretty attractive, he mused, both beautifully athletic. He pulled over, slowed down near them, nodded at them as he drove alongside. "Hey there. Name's Kaneigh, you two beautiful ladies new around?" He put up his eyeshades, so that his eyes were clearly visible.
2. Well I'll start 'er up in a bit and direct people to this OC thread.
3. The Great and Powerful Trixie (Equina) Trixie smiled, so happy that Twilight's power and determination to do the right thing, the things she had fallen hooves over heels for, were back. Now it was her turn to shed a few tears, in joy for what she was sure was going to be a turning of the tide. She bowed as Twilight departed, then quickly trotted over to Cronarch where he had fallen. "I'm on it. Rest, you old coot." A part of Trixie's mind had to be doubtful. Could she stand against something with magic that had reduced the mighty time mage of the GEF to a coughing mess? Trixie supposed that was her true worth to the GEF. Her inability to care about the odds, to laugh at them and audaciously beat them in the way only her ego could. But her ego was tamed, tempered. Behind it now was the need to make sure Twilight's will was enforced, no matter the cost. Trixie smiled as her horn began to glower. She'd have it no other way. Six Trixies appeared where there had once been one, all equally graced with smiles of joy, which quickly lapsed into business-like frowns. Four of them, all her illusions, materialized in an instant in other GEF precincts, before other GEF councillors, bearing the bad news and the summons, and the threats from Twilight which Trixie especially relished. One, the true Trixie, summoned a set of metal daggers to herself, which surrounded her in a ring of deadly steel. She summoned more power to herself, and began to fly, levitating atop air currents in a manner perhaps not as natural as pegasus flight but no less reliable. The Citadel was where Chronarch had said survivors were... as she flew, she saw the dragons forces fanning out. She flew up to a few of them. Normally she would be too prideful to call on aid, but she knew even she'd need help transporting survivors in a timely fashion. "There are survivors in the GEF Citadel, many. Please, aid Trixie." Trixie continued to fly, hoping some of the dragons would follow. The final Trixie, this one an illusion, back in the ruined building, spat at Knowledge. Though it was no real spit, it felt awfully real. "You are an egotist of the worst kind, even worse than Trixie. Will you help us or continue to make yourself a hatable excuse of a creature?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill) "I find it strange, my Queen. That you would tell one of your former enemies to help her people who were once also your enemies..." Her smile was gone, she was serious now. Whatever awaited them on the other side, her heart would be steeled, ready."At your leisure."
4. How dare you not approach one of the masters of the FFA section, Scythe?! My bruised ego aside, I'd be willing to play a mare for you. Question is, do you want a canon character? An OC?
5. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill) It gratified Cadence, at least, to hear that her Queen was the stronger for their... relationship, for lack of a better term to describe what was budding between them in the last few days. It wasn't really love, wasn't really lust. But it was something that Cadence had been in want of for a long time in her life. Cadence looked her troubled Queen straight in the eye, smiled to assure the Queen of her trust and faith. "I... whatever you think is right, my Queen. I will follow your lead. After all, you are the more experienced of the two of us." The Great and Powerful Trixie (Equina) Trixie hadn't expected this particular outburst, she staggered back a step but thankfully asserted control of her own body and managed to catch Twilight's embrace and tentatively embrace back. It was the strangest thing. Here was Trixie's deepest fantasy playing itself out, Twilight coming to her for emotional comfort, and Trixie wasn't sure what to do. A hoof patted Twilight's back awkwardly. Pathetic. Trixie was so pathetic. The one time the person she cherished most in this world needed her, she couldn't do squat. Trixie was close to bursting into tears herself... but no, one of them needed to be strong. "No... Twilight, none of it is gone yet, not while we are still here. We can still fight... and none of it is your fault. You have always done the best you can to do what you think is right, that is why Trixie..." Trixie erred against what she really felt. "... Respects you. You are everything she cannot be."
6. Dunno if there are still spots but it is time for the BEST CHARACTER Name: Colby 'Kaneigh' West Gender: Stallion Race: Pegasus Brief History: Kaneigh is a THE BEST THING SINCE CHEESE which is ironic because his parents were cheesemakers, hence his name. He grew up not knowing his father, and channeled his early troubles with this lack of fatherly authority into music, which he proved a natural at. He produced for some now successful musical acts, but has yet to make the big time himself despite having a critically acclaimed album under his belt already. He was working on his second album when his mother died of medical complications, which significantly impacted his sociability, his art, and does to this day. Looks: A brick red coat with a shaved mane and a jet black tuft of a tail, and a well trimmed beard of facial hair. Kind of scrawny, but lean and muscled for his small stature. If humanized, he looks like Kanye freaking West, of course, with a decent set of wings. Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is similar to a musical quarter note, only with an 'x' in place of the circle, a common way to notate drum notes. Kaneigh earned his cutie mark the first time he was ever in a studio, when his mother brought him around because he insisted on getting the chance to see the inside of a recording studio. Inside, Kaneigh fiddled around with a sampler, and produced a rough beat that would later be refined into one of his first singles, 'Celestia Trots'. While it was hardly a work of art, his mother was proud, Kaneigh was enthralled. He earned his cutie mark and swore he'd be a producer someday. Personality: Kaneigh has the largest ego in existence, he is great but the problem is he knows it all too well, and he expects everyone to know it as well. He is argumentative, and eloquent, a dangerously bad combination for making friends. He is judgmental and condescending in equal measure. However, he is also an artist at heart, he appreciates other ponies who work hard to make their dreams come true, and he has a soft spot for pretty mares/girls. Likes and Dislikes: Likes making music and pretty women. Dislikes people who do not play to his massive ego. Character flaws: Have you not read the above? He has an ego the size of Mars and the stubbornness to make it a problem for everyone around him. Family: Doesn't know father, mother is dead. Random fact: He died for your sins. And before anyone makes the obvious joke, shut up.
7. "Mmhm. And you, miss?" "Just a soda." The waiter started to walk away. Penumbra turned back toward Bridge, interested. "So, are you on the road all the time? Or do you still live around some city in particular?"
8. IRELIA and other champions who are less awesome. Also, anyone know where Fluttershy could actually go? I did that because I didn't want every one of my characters in Equina at once, but now I'm not sure what she could achieve elsewhere...
9. Lypris (Starlight Hill) "Right... holler if you need me, Dopple. I'll teleport right over." Lyrpis was afraid of exerting any more energy than she had already with her last teleport spell. If she tapped into any more of her power Cadence would possibly be compromised, as the wards on her were very specifically designed to maximize her protection. Lypris sat on her haunch, watching quietly as the negotiation hall slowly emptied itself of ponies who were heading off to the capital. Fluttershy (Starlight Hill -> ?) Fluttershy smiled back, her smile equally faltering. She knew that with disaster having come, it was likely that that she might well not see some of her friends like Spike alive again. For all of her steel, for all of her discipline, her heart still hurt to think it. "I... I'll see you soon, Spike." She watched him take off into flight. She did not mention that she had no intention to head to Equina, had no intention to join up with her friends yet. As a monk of the Starlight Order, she would be better useful elsewhere, for now... She trotted out of the compound, where she had spent the last few years of her life, and returned to the world. Soon she was gone. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill) "Free, wait-!" He was already gone. She looked out at the city, saw the discoloration of the sky. She wasn't sure what it meant, but she was sure it couldn't have possibly boded well. She wanted to follow Free, but she wasn't sure how. Her magic was weak, to be frank, even after a few days of recovery, teleportation was not possible for her. She turned to Chrysalis, her trust in her Queen leading her to seek help from that avenue above all others. "Queen... what do we do? Should we go to Equina along with the others, or...?" Cadence wasn't sure if she wanted to look like a coward at this time. But she wasn't sure if she could even help, weak as she was. The Great and Powerful Trixie (Equina) "Yes madame." Trixie wasn't one for motivational speeches unless they were self-important in nature, so she was glad she'd managed to keep Rainbow from drowning in fear or self-pity or whatever. As much as Trixie held everyone except Twilight in contempt... now that Twilight herself was out of commission for the foreseeable future, it would fall to her underlings to pick up the slack. Including her Mistress. Trixie frowned as she looked down at Twilight's prone form. She looked away, suddenly unsure of herself, which scared her greatly. "Twilight... it will be alright..." Her foal... oh Celestia, her foal! No wonder she was so distraught, how could Trixie have been so stupid as to forget...?! Trixie looked at Twilight now, pleaded with her, "... He'll be alright, okay?" Vinyl Scratch (Equina) Where were those blasted screams coming from? First they were in one direction, then another, then suddenly everywhere and nowhere at once and Vinyl was looking about, confused and hopelessly lost in the burning midst of the city she had once known like the back of her hoof. Amazing how easy it was to be lost when you no longer recognized where you were, even if it was the same place... in theory. Vinyl galloped down the streets towards the scream, only for it to be somewhere else, only to hit a dead end... She gritted her teeth. No doubt she was too late already.
10. Oh, alright. Well I'm alright with them having some kind of romantically charged talk session, but no gigiggity. Cadence still sort of has a husband she doesn't want to believe is dead yet. I'm sure Val has something horrible planned for Shining that will make me rage into the sky.
11. FIVE CHARACTERS *****ES I feel sorry for Scythe and British and the others that'll have to catch up on this tomorrow... As best as I can summarize it, Twilight burst into the negotiations hall and the GEF ponies all teleported away, Equina is in ruins, everypony else has no idea what is going on.
12. Vinyl Scratch (Equina) The negotiations were taking a while to get along... Vinyl wasn't really tempted to do anything else, though. There was nothing else to do. This was history about to happen, no doubt about it. The outcome of these negotiations could... what was that rumbling? She heard a low, dull roar, felt her seat shuddering. Vinyl wondered if she was perhaps having some mechanical errors, something wrong in the building's plumbing or something. She was about to dismiss it, go back to the screen. Then the screen blacked out, the negotiation tables at Starlight Hill replaced with blackness. Then she heard the first screams. As Vinyl galloped for the door, the thing that worried her most was that there were only a few screams, but the rumbling was continuing unabated. It did not bode well... she virtually bashed her way through the door, so urgent were her instincts telling her that something was horribly wrong... She saw what lay beyond... "... It all comes crashing down..." For some horrible reason, the only thing that could come to Vinyl's mind now were some old lyrics she'd written, sung by Sweetie Belle and a powerful choir, notes composed in Tartarus singing of the reckoning of all ponies... Equina was aflame. It was as if the entire city had been cursed by some evil elder god, it's splendor turned into rubble and ruin may thousands of years faster than should have been possible. Vinyl turned slowly in place, examining every building... most of them were alight or already gone. The rumbling in her own studio? It had been gutted and was on the verge of collapsing, the few rooms not affected being her own... How lucky was she? How bucking lucky was she? Judging by the occasional screaming she heard in the distance... "I gotta help. I gotta help somepony." Vinyl started galloping down a street, not knowing what she was looking for, just following the occasional scream, hoping she could find something, anything that would tell her she hadn't just survived the apocalypse alone... The Great and Powerful Trixie (Equina) "You contemptuous little..." Trixie had lost Knowledge, was furious with him and furious with herself for daring to lose him. For all her power, she still could not show a little upstart what was what... she reappeared in the caravan. The television was still broken. She'd have to find somepony to blame that for... Wait. She sensed something was horribly off. Trixie sent out a quick divining spell. The magic signatures she knew, Cronarch and Twilight being two huge stars of power she was accustomed to being able to detect... they were way off in Equina. Trixie frowned, teleported to their location with her own personal spellweaving... And her frown promptly became a gaping exp ression of disbelief when she beheld what had happened to their capital. She had no great love for Equina, didn't care. But the scene was terrifying. Twilight, looking like she had been broken. The GEF in complete chaos. She was used to them being annoyingly stoic. Now they were lifting their new leader as if she were a rag doll. Trixie quickly trotted over to join them. "What...? How...?" Trixie wanted to ask so many questions. But she saw Twilight's exp ression, understood that what they needed right now was action, not words. She inclined her hat, her trademark wizard's hat still gracing it, her tone for once humble. "What will you need me to do?" She then looked up at Rainbow, her tone neutral. "The city is destroyed, but we are not yet. The time remains for action to be taken." Lyrpis (Starlight Hill, Inside) "Sir. Sir? Sir?!" Dopple wasn't responding. She was used to him ignoring her sometimes, that was a given. But not like this. Something was terribly off. Dopple was so worried she didn't even notice Twilight's uproar, the GEF ponies vanishing. She only noticed the dragons congregating by a window, she galloped off towards them. She excused herself vaguely as she pushed through their number, looked out the viewport... Oh Star Swirl, that did not look good. She instinctually felt out through her web of defensive spells, made sure all of them were in working order. "Queen Chrysalis." Lyrpis disregarded normal protocol and sent a message directly to her Queen. "The capital of the GEF is currently being... I don't know. I cannot seem to reach Dopple. Orders?" Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill, Inside) Cadence hadn't known how to respond to Twilight's actions, had been unable to ask or say a thing before half the people in the negotiation halls were suddenly gone. But Cadence had seen that look once before, back when Twilight had been a filly, genuinely scared that she had done something unforgivable. Years of growth had not changed that look. One of utter fear. Cadence looked about, at her Queen, at Free. It was he that she galloped over to, confused. "F-Free. What do you think this means?" Fluttershy (Starlight Hill, Outside) Fluttershy looked up from her gardening project, a small shelter for local butterflies on one side of the hill. She saw the ominous lighting over the skies of Equina... Fluttershy considered it for only a moment. She had intended to detach herself from this nonsense, true. But her friends were still her friends. She calmly removed her monk's robes, folded them up, placed them onto the ground. She had been distant from the world for too long. She trotted into the Hill compound, approached the dragons, Karrthus. "Spike, I assume?" Fluttershy wouldn't have been fooled, no matter how old he grew and different he became, she just had a sense for this sort of thing. "I think the dragons will need to fly to Equina."
13. Alright. Well I understand enough now, I'll make my posts with my relevant characters... Actually no, one last thing. Where would Trixie end up after Knowledge banned her from wherever he was? And sorry for getting short, guys. No excuse.
14. So Equina is now destroyed. My question, what would have happened to Vinyl, who was in the capital at the time?
15. ((Okay, okay. I think this was probably just a burst of posting between some of our most active RPers and I've probably bitten off more than I can chew with 5 characters, all of them being roughly in the same place. I'm not quitting, I just got really pissed because I was preparing a nice long post and suddenly 8 replies out of the blue))
16. (( You are all posting at a rate I cannot keep up with. I do stuff besides this RP you know))
17. (( F--- this, not even trying to keep up anymore. Dropped))
18. Lypris (Starlight Hill, Inside) Fortunately, Lypris had caught Dopple before he had gone too far in his mistake. In the excitement, she supposed it wasn't too stupid a mistake to make. He seemed to be really intent on his sudden realization. Well, Lypris was now drained, teleportation was not easy as a mage, especially to teleport others. It was a testament to her ability that she could even pull it off at all. She didn't feel so weakened, she was sure Cadence be well warded in case of an emergency. But it was going to be a close run thing. Lypris hoped Dopple was onto something big... Speaking of him... "I'll understand if you don't want to tell me, but if you can spare a moment for me... What the heck are you up to, Dopple?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill, Inside) ((What happened at the hive between them!?!?)) Cadence listened, first enthralled by her Queen's words, then increasingly horrified. That Twilight, her Twilight, the one she had foalsitted for a long time ago... that she would be the one Red Fox, the one name Cadence could actually bring herself to hate... The idea that any pony she knew at all, which was frankly likely by sheer statistics... Perhaps Twilight had been the most logical idea all along. But how the bucking hell could Twilight have done that? To her mentor, to her brother?! No, no. Cadence couldn't believe it. Not yet, not in spite of the strong logic, not in spite of her bond with the Queen of Changelings. Her heart could not make that leap yet. "Are... are you absolutely sure, my Queen? I am not saying I do not trust you, but... I find it hard to accept what you have said, frankly. You know how much Twilight meant to me once." Mistrusting what she'd become was one thing. But blaming her for the past? The Mistress of Shadows (Somewhere in Limbo) The Mistress of Shadows was so enraptured by Knowledge's words that it failed to notice when it was bodily ripped from Equestria, taking on an astral projection alongside the errant observer. "You are not serious. Twilight would not..." Oh, but she would lie to The Mistress, and The Mistress knew it. It found itself becoming angry suddenly, found that anger directed toward the one thing in sight. It roared at Knowledge: "Just who do you think you are anyways, threatening to destroy Equestria? For all I know, you are just trying to turn me against my Twilight for your own nefarious ends?" In anger a knife flashed, telepathically held, it slashed the fish into bloody gore and ribbons. "Do not patronize me you foal! I am The Great and Powerful Trixie, The Mistress of Shadows, I will not be lied to now cowed by the likes of you!!" The Mistress of Shadow's guise shattered, and revealed the mare beneath. White hair, light blue coat, eyes both prideful and angry because that pride had been insulted. The Great and Powerful Trixie was ready to make one hell of a comeback performance and teach this interloper a lesson for his slander. ((Where the buck did all of these posts come from!?!?))
19. ((I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT IT)) Lypris (Starlight Hill, Inside) "Uh, sir...? Unless you want to not be here when we need you, may I recommend that you use a teleportation spell? I would be more than happy to expend some of my energy for you..."
20. Lypris (Starlight Hill, Inside) "As you say, sir." He was definitely doing a better job of finding receptive ears. Lypris kept focused on her side of events then, silently making sure nothing went awry while her superiors were occupied with their conversations. Many of the active conversations had the expected air of mutual hatred, but that was alright. As long as blows weren't exchanged- not that it was even possible with this sickening spell over them all- nothing would need her intervention. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill, Inside) "H-hello." Cadence was startled by Striker's appearance. She had assumed that nopony would approach her when it was clear that she was conversing with the Queen of Changelings. Not that she really minded, but Chrysalis might have been miffed by the rudeness. "I'm flattered, but I'm conversing with Queen Chrysalis at the moment. If you'll please? I will speak with you later, if you wish!" She tried to say it as nicely as possible. She didn't want to drive away any potential supporters. The Mistress of Shadows (GEF Caravan) At first the Mistress was rolling it's eyes with this whatever it was and his conceitedness. He sounded like a condescending know it all... kind of like the Mistress itself was, but it ignored the parallels. But then it was shocked by what Knowledge said about Twilight. Shocked enough to blow up the television she had been watching the volleyball game on with a burst of magical power. She refused to let Knowledge go, kept her magical anchor to him strong. "Y-you! Explain yourself! What do you mean Twilight is the Red Fox?! That's not possible!"
21. Penumbra found herself a bit jealous of Bridge's mane. It fell nicely, in contrast to her own perpetual bedhead. She directed a hoof towards her hair, trying to flatten it down a bit, hoping that didn't look vain. "It's really different around there. Society is very stratified, so there are levels between the classes of society. The rich are reallly rich and exclusive. And some ponies like me don't stand a chance." She had her friends, sure, but not many. Penumbra took a seat at the table across from Bridge, just as the waiter stallion arrived. "Hey there. What would you two like?" Penumbra nodded at Bridge, indicating he should take the order first.
22. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Starlight Hill, Inside) "Oh yes, that would be lovely!" With all of the stress of the preparations for the negotiations, all the things she'd had to get herself up to speed on in the three days she'd had, she hadn't really been talking on more casual terms with a lot of the ponies of the REF. All work and no play made for a sad mare, or at least a very stressed one. She might have an easier time speaking if she just unwound for a bit with some good conversation. "So what have you been up to since-?" Cadence's first question was interrupted by Chrysalis making herself known. Not that Cadence really minded. But she was surprised... and what the hay, was she a bit intrigued? By the proposition of a private talk with the Queen... well she was a very charismatic- wait, why was she suddenly thinking like this? "Wait, Applejack! We'll talk later, alright?" Cadence didn't want to put off a friendly face, not after so long and definitely not after the friendly face she had been looking forward to seeing most was suddenly her greatest fear. Cadence leaned in toward the Queen. "So, uh... lead on? What is it you need to tell me?" Lypris (Starlight Hill, Inside) Lypris entered, kept an eye on the general proceedings, a bit amused by what she knew was Cadence falling hooves over heels for her Queen's powerful charms. Even if Chrysalis didn't mean it, it was hard to avoid it. The hive mind was spoken through once more, with Lypris talking to Dopple: "You're looking conniving, Dopple. What are you up to now?" It was a question asked out of amusement, not genuine concern. Fluttershy (Starlight Hill, Outside) Fluttershy was a bit taken aback, that her reunion with friends was being interrupted by business. She glanced about, saw Applejack, waved a hoof at her. She had been meaning to speak to Applejack after Rainbow. The farmer mare, wherever her life had taken her, would probably still be trustworthy and honest as always. She then turned back, considering the conversation between Rainbow Dash and Striker. Her training and natural empathy came together, and she read the implicit meaning behind their words as clear as day. Stoically, she chose to interrupt with a bit of her own monk's wisdom. "Rainbow Dash? Sir?" Fluttershy looked between the two, a polite smile on her face. "My Order taught me that there is no such thing to consider as intent. There are only the consequences. It goes back to the old saying, I suppose. That the road to Tartarus is paved with good intentions for everypony." She politely stressed the word 'everypony'. "Now, if anypony here wishes to speak of anything besides... this topic, please feel free to speak with me. Otherwise, I must return to my Brothers and Sisters." Fluttershy turned tail and began to leave into the depths of the Hill. If there was one thing she would not do, it was be dragged into the mess the GEF insurrection had created, on either side. She loved her friends, but she drew the line somewhere.
