I hope they accept Lauren Faust's proposal -- though it sucks they'd basically be remaking the game after all that work.
Changing the sprites shouldn't be too bad, maybe. I base that statement off of zero knowledge

I'm guessing being able to keep cool will be part of how she solves the problem next week.
Maybe I need to watch again at some point but I wasn't too impressed. The amount of awkward dialogue they had to go through to keep from knowing they had the fake was just... awkward.

YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was pretty stupid of them. Like, they do dumb things in other episodes for plot reasons, but that was really bad.

I don't think online petitions have ever changed anything. I know its not Hasbro but the Crimson Echos (Chrono Trigger fan sequel that got a cease and decist) petitions led to nowhere and peitions for Earthbound to be rerelesed and Mother 3 translated have led to nothing and those included some major letter writing campaigns not just online stuff.
Sadly for fans is that companies care more about legalitys then doing something people will enjoy

Change the colours, have characters like Pumpkin Jack and Stinky Pie and boom you got yourself a legally protected parody.

As a sign of kindness to the ponies she was about to devour she decided to let them eat cake

I figure Celestia and Luna use age spells. It would explain Luna's age jump

Meh. Only if Twi's friends are given any shine to go along with it. Lest they end up like most anyone from Dragonball Z who was important in Dragonball.
Here's a line I could easily imagine any of the other five saying while Twilight is doing some sort of amazing task full of singing and adventure and magic.
"Hey girls...remember when we used to do stuff?"
</KrillinDBZA>
I'm sorry but I hate it when others can't get their shine. It's no fun unless the homies get some. And just kind of makes their inclusions as major characters utterly worthless. They appear in the title sequence for crying out loud. Now they get to be the new background ponies (with AJ's case being doubly egregious).
It still kind of bugs me that any and all major plots always involve everypony else being at the mercy of magic, needing Celestia, Luna and Twilight to save the day. Y'know, what with Equestria and most life in it being so magical and all, but nopony doing much with it aside of UNICORNALICORNMASTERRACE.
Aside from the few adventure episodes, which mostly seem reserved for bookending seasons there aren't many problems that come up in a slice of life series like FiM that could easily be solved solely by Twilight's magic. She has already been super powerful since season two but that didn't help with Fluttershy feeling inadequate, Applejack worrying about disappointing others or Rarity having trouble connecting with her sister because those are all personal issues that the pony in question needs to address.

I'm not 100% thrilled about the whole thing, but I have faith in the guys who do the show, even when Hasbro sticks their hooves in places they don't belong...Still, who knew become a pretty pony princess was so easy? So says PixelKitties!

Just feel bad for Twilight. She's gonna either need to buy new clothes or have Rarity alter them so her wings can fit through.
I was wondering what the requirement for becoming a princess might be. Then it occurred to me that the synopsis states Twilight needs to make a new spell which is the cause. Since Twilight's special talent is magic, maybe a pony needs to master whatever their cutie mark represents in order to become a princess. We do not know what Celestia, Luna, and Cadence were like before becoming princesses but we do know they currently have dominion over the sun, the night, and love. Its possible that what made them a princess is gaining full power over each of those things, and before that they had powers relating to them, but weaker.
Anyways, even without fan theory it still isn't easy to become a princess

I wish I wasn't poor so I could buy this

Pinkie Pie technically rents from her employers who do treat her like a daughter, but she doesn't live with them
-
What part of those 40 minutes felt rushed?
Instead of Twilight finding a way to help her friends from random spell that happens to cure Discord's corruption she could have cured her friends by helping them find themelves and realize who they really are
-
I'm surprised at the lack of straight to DVD movies.
Return of Harmony would have benefited from some extra time.

Not if the requirement for becoming princess is that you have to create your own magic

hi hi
Has Twilight Sparkle ever expressed a desire to be a Princess? I know Rarity has...
Actually, come to think of it, they've already established that ponies can marry into royalty. Rarity suggests it in Ticket Master, and then again in The Crystal Empire, we find out that Shining Armor is now a prince, having married princess Cadence. If they do decide to go with the "its something you earn," route, I wonder how they will distinguish royalty that works hard and earns it, and royalty that simply marries someone important.
Twilight has shown a desire to study and create magic, a goal she apparently accomplishes. Can things only happen on the show if it has long been established its something the character wants?

I think in general on shows like this they have meetings to discuss ideas. Then it goes to a specific writer. Somebody else may edit or rewrite the script after it is finished. A show bible in consulted for continuity and maybe there is somebody who is suppose to make sure continuity is kept somewhat.
Not entirely sure though, just a pieced together guess

Sums up my feelings rather nicely
I don't get it. Because some girls like sports and lemonade Twilight can't become a princess, a powerful role that tends to lead to responsibility and being a leader?
Hasn't the lesson on Friendship is Magic always been its okay to be whatever you want to be?
-
Where s everybody getting the idea that by becoming a princess that Twilight will suddenly become super powerful and unstoppable? Cadence Luna and Celestia aren't super unstoppabe and powerful after all. They have all been bested and there is no reason Twilight would be more powerful just by becoming a princess
We're on opposite sides of the fence here then, haha. I'd love to see it be a dream. It'd be a lolcow of a time for months on end.
On the other hand if they go that way once there is no reason anything can't be a dream or something. If writers aren't willing to stick with what they write then it kills the drama. There is no reason to believe anything ground breaking or game changing is going to last.
I also woulldn't like it if the makers hyped it this much just for it to all be dream seems manipulative towards the fans and insulting.

It does seem like they have been building to Twilight becoming a princess. If making her own magic is what makes her a princes then we can see her progressing
In Crystal Empre she uses dark magic, something she has never used before. The magic pool magic might have been different then her normal unicorn magic as well. I'm guessing to make magic it helps to know more then one type of magic.
In magic duel Twilight learns the importance of thinking creativly and looking at all the angels for success. Creating magic likely requires being able to think creativly since she has to make something new.
In Keep Calm and Flutter On she is given the Elements of Harmony and had a hand in changing Discord. It seems like this is going to have an impact somehow on a future episode.
With two more episodes it will be interesting to see if we can see more trends that can fit in this theory

I think it's a dream cop out would be far worst then Twilight becoming a princess
-
At least five seasons. Possibly more. I would not be surprised if there was a drastic shift in quality at some point so that it was no better then other MLP seasons, probably caused by a change in who is running the show
-
Yeah but its not something that they are going to encounter at any time in the near future. Do you often talk with your friends about what you are going to do when one of you die?
-
What if it was temporary?
Then they cast it again.
Although I'm pretty sure Twilight's friends getting old isn't even going to come up on the show and even if it does then she isn't suppose to embrace her future because her friends are eventually going to get old? I don't think the other ponies are that selfish that they would even let her consider that

I would suggest not styling your pony's hair at work
