  1. It may seem that way, but keep in mind that even though an object is in the "time hole", the object still existed there. All the device does so far is prevent an event from being observed. If the outside can't observe what happened inside, then the logical conclusion is that it didn't happen. But inside the time hole, the object (or objects) still existed there for the amount of time that the light was disrupted.

Darn my mis-interpretation. While useful a completely invisible [vehicle] interior is not nearly as good as a 'removed from time' interior....

  2. Solar Empire all the way! Celestia rises in glory each morn and brings forth the bounty of the soil which we all rely on! She also inspires ponies of all kinds to better themselves and live in harmony.

1000 years of progress & prosperity and you wish to throw it away? For what? A return to the good old days of rule by force and shouting down those that are different? Perceived strength of arms? That is not change...That is surrender.

  3. I liked the idea of making a tribal from a village, a la start of Fallout 2....

Tag: Melee, Survival then either sneak or explosives (if you can reconcile it into the old idea of 'Throwing' skill).

Then depending on your play style:

    Kamikaze

Heavy handed (I prefer to crit stack so take this less)

    Loose cannon

Skilled (If you have relevant DLC)

  4. It was a funny reference when they joked about it in Zecoras episode and that one filly wanting to dress up but come on!

Zombie ponies? For the Halloween episode? Getting pretty crowded up on the zombie bandwagon, no?

That said, I really liked how they included more background on the Princesses and how they came about in this series. I know the music wasn't 'full on', (kids show and all that), but Luna is definitely Princess of frickin' metal! Did you see her rocking out!?!?!

  5. We're not sure how much 'feedback' is supplied by a unicorns horn. We know that there must be some due to ponies being able to manipulate heavy & light, sturdy & delicate items which are out of their view*. So if they have the same (or greater) sensitivity to fingers it could be akin to sticking your hand in someones abdomen. 'Eeeeeew, I felt it slide on a rib'.

EDIT:- It could well be that magical and physical are two different things...

*For fun try picking up a (disposable) delicate item or manipulating something with small buttons next time you have a 'dead arm'. If you've had your mouth numbed by a dentist remember the warnings they gave, (whether or not you took notice :P ), about eating hot food or being careful with a fork.

  6. So, the 'end of Ponyville' stills are said to be labelled Ep 12-13, the end of season three...

Maybe someone, meddling exec or otherwise has looked at the split demographic and wants it re-polarised into 'little girls' and 'late teens +'.

Ponyville suffers an unspecified disaster which the Mane six respond to and win but right at the end:

The CMC, their relatives, Celestia and the more 'child friendly' group start again in a new place.

    Season 1 MLP:New beginnings

(About time) Twilight Sparkle, Luna and other more 'grown-up friendly' ponies set off to have adventures.

Season 1 MLP: Adventures in Magic

    XTREEEEEEEEEEEM!

Season 4 MLP:FiM doesn't happen but we get two new shows, for better or worse.

 This madness courtesy of lack of sleep from a week of 12 hour shifts...

EDIT:- Ooh ooh, "MLP: (Celestia's) New Dawn"

  7. Idea for a possible situation?

So the changelings have won! Huzzah!

If by force, the ponies now under their control are bitter, suspicious and resentful. This inhibits their ability to risk loving new ponies and taints the existing love they give with paranoia.

If by stealth, (Twilight didn't discover them for whatever reason), the changelings are now in and feeding but the ponies they feed from begin a slow decay to not loving. Their changeling partners don't return the ponies love and relationships break down ending up in a situation similar to above in the long term.

Chrysalis is then able to whip Cadence out of the mines and use blackmail (look at these ponies dying) or reward (You can have a week out of the caves) to get the ponies loving again.

Cadence is 'love fertiliser' for their pony crop....

  8. Tv tropes has furnished me with the idea of 'ala' for wing and 'corn' for horn.

Say 'alacorn' and 'alicorn' ten times each, maybe imagining it with different accents...

Maybe originally alacorn and mis-spelled as it was mis-heard ended up as alicorn

    Also copy-pasta:

Occasionally winged unicorns are referred to as alicorns, which is a portmanteau of the French words for wing (aile) and horn (corne).

Also also picturing Trollestia laughing to herself...

    EDIT:- Pegasus! Unicorn! Earth Pony!

By your powers combined I am Black Snooty Captain Princess!

  9. Still, living in a state that appears to have a shaky future makes me wonder...

    Possible season 3 spoliers

Especially given the speculation, guessing and fanfics that are coming out of those season 3 pictures....

EDIT:- About halfway down page 14 for those that are interested. Given the post below, apologies and added spoilers

  10. (sarcasm intended, pun not intended).

Easy fella, just bandying some ideas for bringing some income to a (small?) village. Not saying that one or any of them are the saving grace...

EDIT:- Also, looking at the 'Council of weatherponies' idea just makes it seem like the situation presented in 'Hearths Warming Eve'.

Weather pony goon:- "Got some real pretty crop fields hereabouts. Looks like a lotta money and work goes into makin' 'em so pretty. Be a shame if there weren't much rain the rest of the year..."

Bonus points if s/he is chewing a toothpick and flipping a coin....

  11. Twilight likely has way more powerful magic then Chysalis. Chrysalis got Twilight in the mines due to surprise, she probably did the same with Cadence. Going down to finish the job could result in being defeated, however having Twilight do the dirty work keeps her out of harm's way

Could also be an 'It's your fault!' play if Twi had killed Cadence?

Run Twilight... run away and never return...

  12. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with stocks. I like the idea of investing in companies (new ones especially), and such investors are entitled to a payoff if the company succeeds. Sure there is abuse and leeches, but much of it is good.

The biggest question to me is how the macro economy works. If there is a trade imbalance in a region, bad things can happen. What flows into and out of ponyville? Probably apples are local because there are competing farms in every city. I get the impression that the fashion industry is mostly local, with a bit of export. What is ponyville's primary contribution to Equestria? I can't think of anything. They are obviously consuming things from outside the village (there is no industry to speak of), so there must be something or it would slide slowly into poverty.

Some of the things that have come up in the show imply it could be an agricultural base. Not on the massive scale that exists in the real world but from memory:

    - Apples

    - Truffles

    - Wool

    - Dairy products

    - Eggs

    - Zap-apple jam seems to be a specialist product that only exists in Ponyville, rarity can lead to expense. (I'm sure Rarity can lead to expense as well...)

    - Edible flowers and carrots have also been seen in production.

Obviously I'm not saying that Fluttershy's egg production is supporting the whole economy but if she can do it then other ponies could do it, possibly on a larger scale (Well howdy Twilight, I'm Eggyolk and I'd like to introduce y'all to the egg family...)

Rarity exports her fashions and as she does not seem to produce all of the raw materials directly she would have to pay for import production and transport.

Depending on the size of the hydroelectric dam, could Ponyville be a mass exporter of electricity?

Could money be bought in by government or corporate research grants, both from the Everfree forest itself and the old palace? What would be the cost of mounting an archaeological exploration and cataloguing session of the old palace? (If you didn't want to, you know, just ask Princess Celestia who was there?)

  13. Rarity and AJ get paid for their products, fashion and apple related.

Pinkie either gets paid by the cakes for helping out or sells her own products and pays a bit of rent to her surrogate family to help out. Alternatively party organiser!

Twilight gets paid by the government, or Celestia herself, for her ongoing studies in friendship and/or as a grant to further herself as a useful magical prodigy.

RD is either paid directly by the Ponyville council to administer their weather, or she is paid by the Cloudsdale council who themselves receive money from all the towns and cities they provide weather services for.

Fluttershy is independently wealthy or receives money from a wealthy family to support her unpaid animal care, which is also why she has a skewed attitude to wealth as shown in 'Putting your hoof down'

    SEE MY MIGHTY HEADCANNON!

    NO.

    STOCKS.

    EVER.

'Astrid', 'Brony123' and 'BiggestLunafan' received warnings for insider trading....
