  1. Welcome aboard! RPing isn't really my thing, but I hope you have tons of fun here
  2. Hi and welcome to the forums! Biggest tip I can think of is to just relax, have fun and be yourself. Since you like to read and write, you may want to check out the fanfiction section.
  3. Welcome to Canterlot! Looks like you live pretty close, I'm across the river in 'Mareland'. Not really into RP myself, I just liked the look of the community and decided to join up the other day. I hope you enjoy your time with us.
  4. Welcome! Never played Warhammer, but I helped a friend of mine paint his army once.
  5. Hmm. I think that it was a letter to tell Spike and Twilight that her brother got engaged.
  6. Yeah, I did those freehand with my mouse. I'm not happy with it either but every time I tried to fix it they came out worse than before. I think this weekend I'll go back and try to fix them again. I kept the original layered version of the file, so it won't be hard to go back and work on it again.
  7. Awesome! I can't draw ponies without using a referance yet.
  8. These are good! Your drawing of Twilight seems more refined that the ones of Fluttershy, is it a more recent sketch?
  9. From the album: MechaTwilight's drawings

My first drawing of Twilight that came out pretty good. I paused s1ep1 when we first see Twilight and used that as a referance. Once I finished the line I scanned the drawing in and then spent close to 6 hours coloring her and making her cutie mark. (Her cutie mark is tough to draw! Maybe I'll draw Applebloom next...) Media: Ink and Photoshop 6.0
  10. Sorry for being a bit on the late side, but welcome from another newbie!
  11. Welcome! I'm fairly new so I'm not sure what counts as normal for here, but so far I've enjoyed the forums.
  12. Awww... They're so cute! One thing that mey help that I heard from my art teacher long ago... Commit to your lines and don't be too cautious with everything. It takes some practice and a lot of funky looking sketches, but it does help in the end by cutting down severely on what you have to erase.
  13. It took all night, but I finally finished this drawing. Drawn first in ink, I scanned the line art and then colorized using Photoshop 6. (Yes, I know its old software, but right now I can't afford to upgrade )
  14. I just got my replacement disk from Shout Factory and it still has the original Derpy. Still missing Rainbow's profile though...
  15. Wow, I'm honored that you went with one of the names I suggested!
  16. I'd flat out refuse to give them my login information. Not only is it none of their business, it displays a potential for abusive policies at that company/service. With what I do, just giving them that kind of information shows a lack of security awareness and would cost me the interview on the spot. I haven't had to worry about it though, since my facebook is as private as I can make it, and nothing I don't want people to see gets on there. Not to mention I've been working at the same place for a decade now. I did set up a ghost account to do some of the facebook games, since I don't want to spam the heck out of friends and family members. Bottom line, though, is never post anything hinting at illegal behavior and don't put up a post ranting about how much your job sucks. That is mainly what a lot of employers are looking for, I know its what I do when I'm vetting out a new hire. I only look at whats publicly available.
  17. The first time I bought a pony it was Twilight and it was last November. That one actually ended up with my sister in law when I found one of the first run Twilights with bangs. It really made her day since I conspired with my brother to insure she got it on a day that she was feeling run down. Excellent quality I think. I have four shirts, Twilight Magic, Princess Luna doing her Galadriel impression, Derpy sitting and Derpy with ED-209. Lots of stuff came with them as well, a poster with the mane six, a Derpy button, a Rarity and Spike sticker, a huge bag with a steampunk Rainbow Dash on one side and Hello Kitty on the other and a blindbag that had an extra sparkly Twilight. I wear my shirts a lot and I follow the washing instructions carefully. They all still look brand new, even after two months of consistent wear. If you buy one, pay attention to the sizing chart. They like to use slim fit tees, so I always have to get the largest size available. Even then the neck feels a teensy tiny bit tight on my Derpy shirt.
  18. Greetings, salutations and just plain hiya!
  19. Welcome! I too am new here, although I just kinda stumbled in.
  20. Welcome! I think you'll enjoy it here, at least I hope you will.
  21. Welcome to Canterlot! I'm not big into RP myself, but I'm having fun hanging out here.
  22. No problem. Glad you liked it though!
  23. Phaino Atamos Literally means Shining Atom in Greek. Aurora Or just for fun: Lumie Nessent
  24. Hmm... Two reasons: 1. She likes to race, so to us, Dash makes more sense. 2. Dash is simply easier to say and type. Many take the path of least resistance, so a shorter name usually gets the nod. Past that, I can't think of any hidden meanings.
