Wow that was fast! And it does sound like our characters have a lot in common. I'd be happy to RP. What do you think would make for a good story, or at least a place to start out? Sorry If I seem a little confused. Haven't RPed outside of D&D for a while.

Well the title basically sums it up; I'd like to get involved in an RP, although I'll admit to being a bit hesitant to just jump into one that's been running for a while. So, does anybody out there have a new idea they want to start, or need another player? I'd be happy to join in. My character is linked in my signature by the way.

(Ok, first character on this site, and in a while in general, lets see if I did this right!) Roleplay Type: FiM/Show "Mane" Equestria Universe Name: Dusty Clouds (prefers the nickname Duster) Sex: Male Age: Stallion (Young adulthood) Species: Pegasus Coat Color: charcoal gray Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: His mane and tail are both brown with light brown streaks. It tends to be rather unkempt, even after a good brushing it usually reverts back to being its usual mess. From the colors of his mane and coat he has a perpetual appearance of being covered in a fine layer of dust, even after a good soaking. Eye Color: Light green. Cutie Mark: A stylized picture of a map, no details on it beyond a dotted line and an X Physique:Slightly taller than average, but with a fairly ordinary build; basically in good shape. Origin: Born and raised in Cloudsdale, although he currently is a wanderer. Occupation: He hasn't decided upon a particular job just yet, although the work he usually takes on plays to his wanderlust and his talents, namely navigation, so things like courier, messenger, etc. Motivation: Duster is driven by an intense desire to explore new places, learn new things, and provided they're nice, meet new people. Deep down in his heart Duster wishes he could simply live purely for adventure, but he has no real idea on how to break into such a career, and hey, a stallion's gotta eat. Likes: Exploring/seeing new places, fresh bread, good company, hot showers/baths, adventure stories, rain Dislikes: monotony, allergy season, tomatoes, feeling useless, anything stodgy/uptight/excessively formal (big one there) Character Summary: History – Dusty Clouds was born and raised in Cloudsdale; he had a fairly unremarkable foal hood. From a very early age he always loved hearing stories, and eventually reading about adventures and travels, and eventually he began wander off and start exploring on his own. This eventually grew into leaving Cloudsdale altogether when he became an adult, eager to see what the world had to offer. He currently travels from place to place, taking up odd jobs, although he tends to never stay in one location for very long. Parents – His parents, (don't have names for them yet), were of mixed feelings about his decisions in life, Both still reside in Cloudsdale, and although he doesn't visit very often, they are both always happy to see him. While his father his hopeful for his future, his mother does wish that her Dusty would just settle for a nice steady, and above all, safe job. Cutie Mark Story – Duster's cutie mark is a simple map drawn on an open scroll, representative of his talent for navigating. When he was young, he eventually reached breaking point after finishing another adventure story, and decided it was time to try it himself! Maybe he'd even get his mark for it. Leaving his home he started to fly around, simply deciding to see what he would find if he went beyond the places he knew. For the better part of a day he simply flew and walked around the countryside, taking in all the new sights and locales. And then it hit him. He had no idea where he was, no map, not even a compass! After a good hour of panicked running about like a ninny, he began to realize that certain landmarks looked familiar, both from what he had passed earlier, and what he had seen in maps. Slowly he began to piece back together the route he had taken, re-tracing his steps and making educated guesses when he came up short. It took time but eventually he was able to make his way back home, safe and sound. He hadn't even realized his mark had appeared until it was pointed out to him by his father. It didn't take him long (after much celebration) to figure out that his talent was that of navigation, always seeming to know where he was going. Other ponies tend to understand it well enough, though he often gets those who think he's a treasure hunter, or a pirate (never-mind the lack of any other pirate-y stuff.), or even taking it to mean he's good at following instructions. Flaws – While its true that he always seems to know where he's going physically, when it comes down to where he's going in life..... Duster is completely lost. While he craves excitement and adventure, he doesn't even know where to begin, beyond what he's already doing to get by. He can also be a tad overconfident at times, occasionally refusing to pull out his map unless its necessary. He is fairly impulsive, tending to make decisions with little forethought. Impatience is occasionally a problem for him, although that usually only rears his head if its a repeat problem or he's exceptionally frustrated. Personality – Duster tries to be a relaxed, friendly fellow, slow to anger and quick to help out. Given other aspects of his personality and behavior, this sometimes comes across as being somewhat of an idiot. When he's not doing his thing, he tends to come across as quiet and aloof, sometimes inattentive of his surroundings, but more often than not its because he's lost in thought, or daydreaming. When he IS working, or doing something he finds interesting or exciting, he becomes much more energetic, almost manic at times, quite often with a broad grin plastered across his face, and if really worked up, manic excited laughter, and the occasional shout of “ADVENTURE!” Other- There's one other accessory that Duster is never seen without; his vest. Its an old multi-pocketed dark green vest, the fabric worn and somewhat faded, a couple of buttons missing, and the holes to fit his wings through appear to have been roughly cut with a knife. Still, despite its “Well Loved” appearance as he puts it, it's a very sturdy garment and excellent for one who travels constantly. (I'm open to criticism or suggestions about any of this. I know its kind of wordy but I figure a lot of detail is better than not enough, right?)

Never said I didn't like Dr Horrible though! And I admit some inspiration is drawn from that marvelous musical.

I just typed in MLP FIM RP forum. Was the first one that came up in my search.

About Myself: Hmm. Where to begin? Well... I live not too far from Fillydelphia's real world counterpart, although I'd really like to get out and travel at some point. I like to spend time drawing or reading; I also enjoy RPing, although its been a while since I've done any actual RP outside of weekly D&D sessions. My tastes in music is more than a little bit eclectic, and as far as TV, movies, and games are concerned, I tend to be a little geeky, although I'm still all over the place in what I like. How I found Canterlot.com: First thing that came up in a google search! How I became a fan of MLP:FiM: Still new to the fandom; I really only got into the show about a month or two ago. Originally I watched the first episode when a friend linked it, so I could see what the fuss was about. At the time it didn't really grab me. Then I started seeing more and more of it, through random links, pictures and memes, just started seeing it everywhere. On a whim (and a helping of boredom) I decided to give another try, maybe there was something I missed, and after watching a few more episodes, I was hooked. My favourite main cast pony/s: Twilight Sparkle Please by all means ask me anything! I'm happy to answer!
