As for part of your character's history; I'm guessing nothing too serious, and is meant for a quick gag. (Like joy-buzzers.)

If you're talking about live Roleplay, I'm guessing with players consent first. I personally wouldn't mind if another player stuns me in any way, I'd roll with it... but some other players would. So i'd ask them first, just to be safe.

I know at that point the most obvious question is "why have a weapon at all then?" Well, hooves don't always suffice, just like hands pale in comparison during conflict in our world. I figure guards pledge their body and mind to their princesses, and need the tools to protect them when on the job. Was wondering if this was okay, was told that as long as she only had it while actively being a guard it shouldn't be a problem.

I know I kind of failed on Dio's app the other day, but here me out here.

We have never seen weapons as their own, as a tool of defense in MLP. We have seen them as sport, with fencing. We have even seen them for ceremonial usage.

Now, even though we have seen various scary creatures that looks like they should need weapons to be subdued, (like dragons, manticores, changelings, ect.) you must look at it this way. There is always a better alternative to subduing opposing forces in MLP, than using force against them. The manticore in the series premiere is a perfect example of this. Mane 6 sees a manticore; and instantly runs at it. They were about to let him have it... but then, Fluttershy yells at them to stop, and then proceeds to treat the Manticore with love and kindness, instead of warfare. Point is... there is always a more peaceful/graceful way to solving threats, than fighting in MLP. Albeit that one exception at the S2 finale, but that conflict still lacked any sort of harmful weaponry.

Remember, this is a social RP... So blades would be quite useless.

You might be thinking now... how come the Guards carry weapons anyways? Well, that's just ceremonial. Just a show of honor and merit, in lieu of the times that they did use weapons for combat.

Last thing, it is very weird for your OC to have any sort of equipment that isn't standard loadout. You might need to elaborate on why she has a short-sword besides the regular Spear/Pike as well. It could be some sort of specialization, like giving a sapper an additional spade. Or giving a medic-pony an additional med-pack.

There was an abrupt banging on the door, effectively breaking the two's conversation. A vigorous voice bellowed into the workshop, shocking the two into silence.

It was who else... but Specialist Percival. His Garrison Officer informed his Company that a red teenage dragon was supposedly running amok on Trottingham. Not having seen any real excitement for months; Percy's squad Sargent quickly accepted the mission of catching the creature, for later questioning by authority. After a grueling chase throughout the town square, Percival finally managed to track the scarlet serpent into an old workshop, by his shed scales. Percy's sure he has it now!

Percival stood in front of the door, with his usual stalwart vigor, and his uneasy Fireteam postioned around him. The aura of the guards amplified like an impending bank of anxiety, waiting to flood into the small workshop.

This is a gryphon, in My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Just because he happens to be a different species of creatures, still means that they have to follow the same non-violent mentality.

I feel like that needs saying here because under these circumstances, everything present is necessary. You question the wording when plainly, to the nature of this species even, they are terms that do not imply unnecessary violence, as you say, but their way of life. The nicknames dealing with the word Guns are perfectly fine due to his rank. When someone is a particular rank, even informally, they'd more often than not be addressed by their rank unless someone close to them had first name privileges. Master Chief from Halo for example. Known as the Chief, Demon, 117 etc. But never John.

I know where you are coming from, really I do. But my only issue with that, is that the rank mentions something that...

1. Doesn't exist in Mane RP
   
2. Is too violent for the mentality of Mane RP.
   

By mentioning the word "Guns" in an application, implies that it exist in the given Mane RP lore. Regardless of context. And Halo wouldn't be such a great example. As it is a rated "M" first person shooter, and this is a show based on pastel coloured ponies.

I don't claim to know or understand your last situation regarding getting a weapon into Mane, but I highly doubt that with the purposes he's stated here, that the "bow, spear and blade" need to be nitpicked at. Mane RP does keep in mind a number of things from the show, but as we've seen, there is a healthy amount of realism that I don't see the reason to sacrifice here.

Anyways, based on past experience, I could whole-heartily say that any sort of real melee weapons is almost a hundred percent no in Mane RP. I have had plenty artillery fire lobbed at me, for putting in a sword for recreational use. Meaning non-violent. Diomedes says that Alistar's use of weapons came from Hunting (Killing of animals or lesser beings for food or sport). I could see some Mane RP fallout in that.

Regarding the Aquellian Marines, Dio's got plenty of more lore experience and work put in than you, no offence meant. If it's a thing here, I'm sure it'll be a thing somewhere else.

More lore work? Sure. More Lore experience? Debatable... but besides the point.

Anyways, last time I checked, the lore that stated Aqueillan Marines was in the "Lore Proposal" section. Meaning not approved yet. I think everybody on this site should follow proper lore procedure, regardless of position of power.

Let's not point the finger and try and fix what ain't broken, shall we?

Notice how I didn't go out and blatantly say... "Hey Dio, your app is too violent for Mane RP, and it's all your fault!"

But instead, politely suggested changes to the app, due to my own past experience of getting my apps corrected by RP staff members. I am not saying that this app is broken at all. Heck, it's well written indeed. But I am simply suggesting to him possible changes, that is all. Not trying to start any firefights here.

I like this app Dio, it is very good and well rounded, but I only have a few things I would like to suggest to you... (I am no Helpstaffer, so this is not final)

• The Nickname "Guns" or "Gunnery" probably won't fly, due to the lack of any guns in Equestria. (Believe me I have searched!). My suggestion, change the name to "Gallantry" instead.
  

• The "Aquillan Marines" might not work either. As far as I know, it's not approved lore yet. I'd say just put military.
  

• The term "thrill of the hunt" and "takedown" kind of worried me there. Hunting what? Taking what down? This implies violence, at least to me.
  

• This ties into my next suggestion, you say "bow, spear, and blade " as hunting instruments. I know that you and I both know how it went when I tried to give on of my OCs a sword in Mane RP.

I think that if that were the case yes the season would be better... since Princess Celestia/Luna/Cadence are empire-wide. They have big duties. It'd be interesting to find out what Princess Twilight's role is as a princess will be. Friendship? Magic? Teacher? Something completely different? Celestia's "replacement"? Who knows. ^^

I know right? I think that Twilight Sparkle being a princess, conveys a doorway to more expeditionary experiences outside of just Ponyville. Imagine that... An new season 4, where everything is just a constant adventure! New places to see every single episode!

This assumption that she is a goddess is questionable. Is Cadence a Goddess? Have any of them actually been called a Goddess? It's a fandom's term, really. I doubt Twilight is a Goddess, or immortal, or even gonna live as long as Celestia and Luna. (Cadence was a teen when Twi was a filly, doesn't seem to age in a special manner).

Well, I sure hope so Steel... I wouldn't want Twilight Sparkle to see all of her friends die.

EDIT* The only way that I see that Alicorn Twilight could fit nicely into the show, is if the future adventures are worldwide. On a much larger scale. Because there is no way that MLP would be on such a small scale, due to Twilight being a princess. Maybe MLP would be made into a full-on adventure show (like Avatar), instead of being domestic. If that happens, then I would feel much better about Twilight's Alicornization.

Am I the only one who didn't like the season finale? I feel like the true essence of mutual-friendship has been lost. Friends are supposed to be supportive of one another, to look out for one another, to make up for a flaw another has.

Now here's what really bugs me. The entire three seasons, MLP has conveyed the Mane 6 as ponies who are dependent on one another, five equal friends with a significant one who conducts them, and ultimately ties them together into a complete force. I always thought that the Mane 6 would reach to the top together, as a group. But now, I see that only Twilight gets to the top, and her fancy wings to prove of it. I admit that she wouldn't have made it here without her friends, but I can't shake the feeling that MLP is not about a show about 6 friends learning about the meaning of friendship, but just one pony, and the other five are just fancy stepping stones to her destined glory. Heck, Princess Celestia even says how Twilight helps her get re-united with her sister, without even mentioning the other five...

Now don't get me wrong, the songs were un-expectantly emotional, and the way they wrapped up the plot was impressive indeed. Even more impressive is how they were able to do it correctly in just thirty minutes... But that doesn't change the fact that we now have a goddess, in the mane six of mortals.To me it's no longer Mane 6, but now Mane 1+5.

Now, I'm just assuming that this is a bad idea... I don't know what would happen in Season 4. The entire plot dynamic of the series has been changed; no doubt. But I am hoping that the change is one for the better... this could go anywhere

When I'm Gone - Eminem... Eminem is trying to make his daughter feel better about his constant travelling and his recent divorce. Mockingbird is also similar to this.

One Trick Pony - MictheMicropone... A song about how society is always following their same cliques, and how you need to be yourself!

Be warned, all these songs have cursing... But they are great and goes really deep.

but you know how there are griffons in Mane RP, right? Well... is it okay if we specify on exactly what bird the Griffon is on? Like a Cardinal-Griffon, Blue-Jay-Griffon, Eagle-Griffon, Falcon-Griffon, etc. Because it's not very clear on what bird the Griffon based on, in the first place.
