  1. Welcome to Canterlot! Seems like you have some awesome talent, watching all the episodes in 4 days like that :-o Have a great time here!

Agreed, personally my mind would explode out of pure awesomeness, after like 5 episodes.

  2. Um, I do not mean to bother but I would like to ask if you plan to give us more on the character?

As you can see from most other WiP apps a Mod/RP Helpstaff will eventually come around asking you how your app is coming along.

I simply wanted to know if there was anything that I could perhaps help you with in the terms of your App.

Please feel free to drop me a PM if you are unsure of something or need help with crafting any part of your ponies app.

Oh I do eventually, but i'm very busy at the moment.

  3. Crossovers RP.

    Name: Severus (color tag, Black)

    Sex: Male

    Age: Stallion

    Species: Unicorn

    Eye Color: Blue

    Coat Color: Black

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane is short, and has been brushed backwards. Tail is long and slightly shaggy.

    Physique: Medium height and muscular.

Cutie Mark: A Captain's Rank for his extraordinary leadership skills.

Origin: Originally from Marelia. But after his service, he moved to

Solstice Heights for some peace and quiet after quiet an unpleasant

    experience.

Occupation: He was serving in the 9th Magus Regiment, but when he lost his horn, Severus was disbanded and is now a reserve for the 6th Battalion. He is now working as a Stone Mason.

Motivation: He was once a proud and headstrong pony, but then when he was mortally wounded and lost his horn, he then became very

humble and aware of his surroundings. Severus enjoys reading, and writing books about his experience in the 2nd Field Army. He dreams that he

would meet his brothers in combat, once more.

Likes: Peace, quiet, reading, writing, and spending time with his wife

    and young filly.

Dislikes: Loud noises, fire, sharp objects, or anything resembling

blood, reminds him too much of the war.

Virtues: Helpful, Kind, Supportive, Protective, Intelligent, Fit, and Humble.

Flaws: Independent, Overly Ambitious, and sometimes downright paranoid.

Severus was a very ambitious in his young age, and he always adored the Royal Equestrian Army, and he eagerly wanted to join. So at a very young age, he exercised daily, and was very athletic. Because of that, he was able to pin some of the strongest stallions in Manella, even as a young colt. Despite his excellent physical condition, he was not very fluent in magic, and almost failed magic school altogether. But nonetheless, he was able to pass both schools, and graduated when he became a stallion. Even though his friends suggested that he took up in sports and become an athlete, he thought otherwise. He wanted to join the Royal Equestrian Army.

So he signed up, and a few weeks later he found himself in a training camp. He passed the physical traning with flying colors, but when it came to magic training, he just couldn't make the cut. Disappointed, he started to pack back home, but his commanding officer said that if he was smart enough, that he could attend officer academy, and become a squad leader. So he agreed and studied for two long years, squad formations, military commands, and other topics, the work was hard, but he was able to pass the academy in the top of his class. And soon enough, he was commanding the Echo squadron in pursuit of Nightmare Moon, and any Raiders, Pirates, and Carnivores that were willing to stand in their way. And after a full year of hard-work, and determination, he was able to bump himself up to a Captain rank. And for once things were starting to look good, he had a great squad, and he was finally Captain. But one fateful day, that all changed...

He was assigned to a patrol of the Badlands.

"No biggie just a quick walk around, and i'll be back here safe and sound, right?" That's what Severus kept telling himself, but to no avail. He was terrified. Badlands was filled with Manticores, Hydras, Timberwolves, and other foul creatures brought on by Nightmare Moon. And if anything happened to any his squad-mates, he would be held fully accountable.

    No pressure, right?

But alas, he had a duty to fulfill, and he reluctantly agreed. A few days later, he found himself walking in the desolate and dark region that was the Badlands. Just him, and his team of twelve unicorns. Each step he took was followed by nervous shudders, he was sweating profusely. He knew that everything he learned in his life was leading up to this point, and failure was not an option. Two hours has passed, not a sound. It was deceptively quiet. Then suddenly, Rabbits, Deer, and creatures of all sorts, started running in the opposite direction of the where the Squad was heading. The other unicorns were confused of why the animals were acting like this, but unfortunately, Severus did.

    They were being chased.

Without warning, a Timberwolf appeared from the shadows, and Severus cringed in sudden fear. The Beast circled around the crowd of frightened unicorns. Severus had to make a decision that would either save, or doom his squad.

    "Everypony, disembark!"

"But sir, this is against military code!" A soldier cried out "Somepony has to stop this beast before-"

"I will face this creature alone, Corporal." Severus interrupted "I don't want anypony else to get hurt."

"Yes sir!" The soldier replied. And with that, the Corporal proceeded to lead the rest of the squad to safety.

Severus looked back at the rest of his squad as they retreated to safety. The beast started to follow the crowd, but Severus tossed a rock at his head, to get his attention.

Well it did, and proceeded to advance towards him, and he instantly regretted his bold decision. He looked behind him to find his squad, but they were already gone. Severus was in full panic. He exerted all his magic onto the beast, hoping to stall (what he hoped wasn't) his impending doom. But it merely phased the monster. And worse yet it made him angrier. The Timberwolf charged at Severus. Luckily, he leapt out of the way just in time, and the beast rammed a nearby tree instead. Severus knew he could no keep this up any longer. He devised a plan quickly, before the Timberwolf pulled his head out of the tree.

Severus had an idea. If he could somehow use his magic to shrink the beast, then he could avoid having to fight the creature, and it would no longer be a threat...

But shrinking was a high level spell, and Severus could barely manage simple levitation. But Severus had no choice. So he tucked his head down, arched his back, he focused all the magic his horn could muster, towards the now free -and ever so angry-Timberwolf.

Severus strained himself to the best of his ability, a second layer of blue aura formed around his horn. A ring of white started to form around his eyesight. His entire body felt like it was on fire!

This was alot harder than he thought, but there was was no turning back now, as the beast was already started to shrink. So Severus pushed even harder.

The pain became even more intense, the white circle that was once around his eyes now engulfed his entire vision. Severus screamed before

something inside of him snapped, and then he fell into unconsciousness.

Severus awoke to find himself in a hospital, or what was actually a beaten down shack with a sign nailed to the wall that had the words "Hospital" painted in spectacularly bad hoofwriting. The paint on the walls and ceilings were peeling off in an eerie fashion, and the smell of the bed he was lying on nearly knocked him out a second time. Severus could hear the faint sound of hammers and pickaxes in the distance. He was in Beakbreak City.

Great Celestia, he hated this place.

Then a rugged, dirty Unicorn busted in the room, levitating a shovel near him.

"Yer're alive? Wal, ah' was about t'bury yo'!" He exclaimed in a horrendously rough accent.

"Oh, s'cuse me, th' name's Nugget." He outstretched a hoof.

"Severus." He replied while shaking his hand gingerly.

"While ah' was out minin' sum' coal, ah' sar yer hide, an then managed t'lug it all th' way back har." Nugget continued.

His expression suddenly turned sad. "So'ry bout' yer horn."

"What are you talking about?" He put a hoof on his forehead, expecting a horn, but instead got a jagged stump. His eyes grew wide and he

    gasped.

    He lost his horn.

"Yer' sure bout' leavin'? ah mean, yo' woke up j'st a few hours ago." Nugget asked.

"Yes, I'm sure Nugget, there's nothing wrong with me, except for my horn. I just passed out, that's all."

"Well, ah don't agree wif yo', but we haf' a hot-air balloon eff'n yer hankerin' t' git thar quickly." He added.

Nugget led Severus out the hospital door, and they walked towards a poorly built hot-air balloon, filled with patches and staples.

"It ain't th' best, but she'll do."

    "What's the damage." Severus asked.

"Aw, don't sweat it, i'ts on me"

"Thanks" He replied as he climbed on the unstable balloon.

"Listen, ah's so'ry fo' th' poor horspitality, this har' ain't th' best city, yo' see."

Severus suddenly felt a pang of guilt. "I'ts fine Nugget, thank you."

The fire lit, and the balloon lurched upwards. Severus then cut the sandbags hanging form the sides, pushing it up even more.

    He was off to Stalliongrad.

    *** *** ***

When Severus returned to the private military base near Stalliongrad, he was welcome with cheerful hollers, and pats on the back. Severus was awarded Virtus (Bravery), Magisterium (Leadership), Assiduitas (Perseverance) and Vulnus (Injury) medals. Because of the loss of his horn, he was relived of duty, but he agreed to join a reserve battalion in times of great peril, he was also offered a house in Solstice Heights, a place where they were offering war-veterans houses at the time. There he married a beautiful Mare, and they had a young filly. But one day he dreams of being in service, with his brothers, once again.

    The End? Eenope.

  4. Wow! Great analysis. The way I see Twilight as is a pony of all trades. Magic, being her Element, allows her to easily study and cast spells. She improves by using the spells over and over (practice makes perfect).

In terms of unicorns going to Princess Celestia's School to learn how to learn new spells and improve on their main ability (the one they have their cutie mark for), I can mention my unicorn OC.

Her name is Fire Heart, and she's a filly that just received her mark. She has recently enrolled in Celestia's School (think around the age Twilight entered). Her skill is fire magic. When I created her, I made it so she wasn't too over powered and this gives her room to grow in her magic. That's why I have her as a student, to have her learn. Also, to reduce the overpowered part, I made a flaw to her magic: it's tied to her emotions so when she's scared or angry, she becomes a Human Torch.

So I agree that ponies can grow in their magic, especially fillies or colts. It makes the evolution of the character more realistic. As for a system where a skill is augmented, I think that would be cool. The problem is that with so many different unicorn magic out there, it's hard to create a system for that. D&D, for example, has a set spell list and set spell levels. For it to work, a system like that would have to come into play. This means assigning spells to a level, determining the number of levels, determining what level a pony is at, and seeing how one can reach another level of magic. Not impossible, but still tricky.

Hmmm... I would have called her Seraphim, but thats just me.

  5. i always just assumed they were all the same age. you're going off of apparent level of emotional maturity yes? I just dont see why it matters though.

No, just on voice really, if it was on maturity, then Rarity would be on the bottom, because she tends to overreact very easily.

  6. Saw this. Saved it. It did not deaden my imagination but rather, expanded it. Dear God, I want to see the story that could expand from this one picture!

I'm just saying, that pic takes the ENTIRE Canon that MLP and Canterlot.com worked so hard on, and throws it out the flippin window.

  7. Just a few quick RP questions...

    1. Am I too low of a level to roleplay?

Just wondering because I know that Role Players are sometimes up to thousands in forum posts, with tons of trophies, cutiemarks, friends, and sigs, and If I do get in, Ill be just a small, lonely Rock Farmer, with my 13 little posts, and apples.

    Darn those confounded apples...

    2. Can my application character have a negative background?

I read the application guide, and the RP rules, all 9000 of them, and I have not found anything saying I can't, but I just like to have a special okay before I continue with my application.

    Thanks

    - Frost

  8. She tends to talk like she's number one, better than everybody else, at the top. Iv'e met people like that. All the attention she should have gotten when she was a foal, she didn't get some reason, and Trixie was neglected as a child. Now she's trying to make up for all that lost recognition in a very boastful and rude manner.
