Well, serious charges, such as Murder, Assualt, Arson, would obviously not be allowed in Mane RP, for that matter.

A bit much for teenage ponies, if you ask me. Also, each of those three times (Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis)...all those could have been prevented had Celestia taken proper action.

Peace and prosperity...hah...we've seen three near-disasters in one pony year, and each time a group of FILLIES had to bail Celestia out. How many times has this sort of thing happened BEFORE the events of the show? An uncountable amount, is my guess.

Okay, I admit Celestia has screwed up. I admit that she needs to retire, ascend, or whatever. But the fact, that you go out and make an entire separate Confederacy to change it is foolish! Not once, have you proven to me that Celestia has shown signs of tyranny. But Luna has already. Twice.

Why not make a Constitutional Monarchy? Why not vote Celestia out? I mean, I get your point and I agree with you, that Celestia is losing her shiz. But creating this "New Lunar Republic" is foolish, and stupid.

And enough about this "Elements of Harmony" stuff. First of all, we don't know who forged them. For all we know it could very well have been Celestia herself who forged it. Incorporated her own power into the artifacts themselves. Furthermore, the Elements of Harmony is not just a group of ponies, but it's a spiritual collection of magical artifacts based on Divine Right.

And yes, Valen. Peace and Prosperity. So what if we had a few minor incursions here and there. Out of the three major conflicts in Equestria, not one of them was an act of proper war.

• Discord was just one being, and he never actually hurt anybody
  
• NMM was only one being.
  
• Chrysalis's minions were just a hive-mind populace, and are incapable of waging proper war. (I actually PM'ed Diomedes about it a while back, and he concluded that the Changeling attack was not an act of war)

Wow Valen. Why, would you blame Princess Celestia for not killing princess Luna? I am appalled at that statement. Look, Celestia did not kill her sister. Now what! Luna and Celestia are friends! That's what. Of course banishing her was the better thing to do, because nobody got hurt. Let me reiterate with a list. Celestia did not kill Luna, because...

• It would have made her look, really, really bad.
  
• She's her sister.
  
• Her tyranny was based of of guilt and neglect. Not evil.
  
• A more peaceful option was apparent, banish her instead.

Seriously, I've spotted three instances of execution in your argument alone. Plus, you tone of voice in this argument is blind, and over-zealous at best. You keep re-iterating the same argument over and over and over again. Your tone of voice is to willing, and eager to overthrow the Sol Invictus who brought you here in the first place. • Flaws, nopony is perfect. Be sure to write about what your OC’s flaws are, and how they could overcome it.
  
• Personality, what is your OC’s personality? are they happy? or sad? Serious? or Carefree? Stuff like that
  

• Be sure to tone down on the severity of your OC’s parents. Again, this is the Mane RP. Be sure to be able to envision your OC in the actual show itself

Wow... You have got to stop taking everything I say so seriously... Besides, I was talking merely situational with shops in general, not the entirety of the sociopolitical atmosphere surrounding the Jim Crowe laws. That would be silly to do in a seemingly perfect society.

First of all, I apologize if my responding tone made it sound like I wanted to bite your head off. But you sort of struck a nerve there. You said that the Zecora incident was worse than the Jim Crowe Laws. You were comparing one of the most shameful acts in American history, to a little girl's show.

Anyways, you are making all of these points on how the creatures in Equestria, and perhaps you are right. But that is no need for a completely different government for it! Why don't the people just make a petition, or speak to Celestia about it? She'll most certainly agree. Nothing to make a separate government over.

And plus, making a constitutional monarchy is not a bad idea at all. There are two ways this can go, however.

• Celestia could still be in rule, but has to follow a set of guidelines and regulations, called a Constitution. And all of her laws would have to be carefully processed by a group of people called a Parliment, before set in action.
  

• Or the Parliment would be in complete power, and Celestia would just be a mere figurehead. Only to appear in show, or heraldry.
  

The latter will not end well, however. As you should know from history, one does not simply revoke the power from a single leader. Sure that is the situation in England today, but it took years, and years for it to get it that way.

Then of course, Luna could pull an Oliver Cromwell. It could be if she eventually wins the Revolution, whether it be peaceful or not, she could simply disregard her previous goals, and crown herself the new leader of the Solar Empire. Hey, Luna has shown signs of being a Tyrant before.

The military definitely needs better training...

NLR would mean freedom for all sentient creatures! Clearly donkeys and mules are underrepresented as well! What about Griffons and Zebra? Are they put to the wayside? What is their say? That is worse than the Jim Crowe Laws! Celestia claims that only pony folk suffered under Discord, and she acted to save them! What of the other sentient beings in Equestria? Are they not worth saving?!

Well, the thing is, the other intelligent sentient beings have their own empires, kingdoms, and republics of their own. You see, Equestria is only a part of a really big world of diverse, intelligent creatures. Celestia did say that only pony folk suffered under Discord, because most likely, only pony folk did.

Another thing, we've only seen 3 mules, 1 zebra, and 2 griffons in the entire show alone. What is your proof that they are shunned and not accepted in Equestria? They are very well not! Take Cranky Doodle Donkey for instance, Pinkie Pie literally went out of her way in order to make friends with him. And Rainbow Dash was best friends with Gilda the Griffon.

First of all, being black and all, I could tell you right now that it is most definitely not. The pony folk in Equestria shunned Zecora, because they simply didn't know who she was, or where she came from. The white folk in America knew who the Africans were, or where they came from, but shunned them anyways, because they thought that they were better than black people. That is extremely different. In fact, once the ponies knew who she was, they completely warmed up to her. Unlike in America, where it took nearly a war, plus two assassinations to get African-American civil rights that we deserved.

So please, don't make horrible IRL-pony references like that again, it's only making you look bad.

Why the Solar Empire: Due to its government being already in place, it would not require the time and preparation it takes to make a fully functioning political system. Also, Celestia has far greater experience when it comes to rulling than Luna, and Equestria has been in a state of peace (if you can consider the attacks from the Changelings and Discord peaceful).

Why the New Lunar Republic: Their system would be based on the strength of every pony, not just one or a set group. The NLR would seek to set up a more interactive government, one whose concern is for the ponies. Luna herself is stronger than Celestia, and would act as a better protector of the realm.

Why not the Solar Empire: It has displayed incompetence in the past, and many ponies have little say in what they wish to do. The entire political structure is centered on one pony, so all laws and commands come from Celestia.

Why not the New Lunar Republic: If the NLR were to win, it could take them many years to restore order to Equestria...if they ever can. Due to the freedom of speech and choice it would create, there would no doubt be tension from the many sides that could exist. Thus, they would be slow to act and pass laws because they would need a large consensus, instead of simply having one pony decide what to do.

I see where you are going at. You are seeing Princess Celestia as a monarchy. And you dislike that, you prefer a republic instead, yes? Well, I say no. The Principality of Equestria is a monarchy, but it's a good one. She rules just, and fairly. I admit that she makes mistakes at times, but clearly they are unimportant, as Equestria is still in it's divine, peaceful state. I admit, in the long run, a republic is better idea than a monarchy, but it's not set in stone.

My point is, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I mean, look at Equestria! It is in a perfect state of peace and harmony. Why change the government, when everything is perfect? That's absurd. So what if all the laws come from one pony? That's not necessarily bad. I know some absolute monarchies from history that worked out much better then republics.

If anything, forcing a republic on an existing monarchy will most likely end in disaster. *cough*FrenchRevolution*cough*

And I loved how they finished the last episode on a Monty Python-esque musical number, clearly the writers outdid themselves with Season 3, Well met Hasbro. Well met.

and, furthermore, there's the question as to how an earth pony would work such mechanisms with nothing but hooves and teeth.

In DP's defense, we've seen hooves play the piano, violin, grasp a sword, ect. So the hooves issue would'nt really be much of a problem.

And, you can make your character have weapons, as long as it stays in peaceful intent, such as fencing, marksman archery, tomahawk throwing, etc.
