  1. Reposting with a better size. After I looked at it a bit I realized she's too small compared to her background for a good icon. I'm gana have to delete and re-submit the canterlot gallery version once it goes through.

  2. Rainbow Dash always dresses in style.

You: "Why would you draw Dash as a Geeky Girly Girl?!"

    Me: "Because it's FREAKING ADORABLE!!!"

The trouble I had with this one was that Rainbow Dash doesn't have that many alternate hair styles in the show, so I had to combine her bangs from the snapshot in "May the best pet win" and her gala dress pony tail.

RD may be a rough and tumble tomboy athlete, but even she can't escape that deep down gnawing desire we all have to be an adorable geeky girl. (That IS a normal feeling... right?)

This icon is free to use by anyone! Next up we have icons foooor:

    Remo for QuickLime

    Elixer for ShyShy

Icon for a DA buddy of mine.

    Raindrops for Thoth

    AJ or Pinkie Pie

  3. Welcome to Canterlot! I don't really know where you can find pony desktop icons. I have a Pinkie Pie skype icon and a Derpy recycling icon, but I found those on DA like four months ago, and I forget who did them. I'd try EQD's search bar.

  4. hi hi

While I don't think you have much to worry about from this joker or anyone else about MLP, I can't help but suspect that there are people out there who are going to end up being seriously bullied about it at some point. (That video is itself essentially an act of bullying)

Just don't let bullies decide what you can and cannot enjoy. In fact, its probably best to just ignore them, and if you can figure out a way to do that, please let me know how. :)

I personally find Bullies to be rather funny, but then again I'm an eccentric with plenty of personal securities. The hate garnished towards bronies is steadily dwindling as the fandom spreads and becomes more influential. It's pretty much devolved into uncreative name calling and petty threats by small pockets of antagonistic individuals each with a cornucopia of complicated self doubt and personal insecurities.

A euphemism I like to use for bullies is "The candle will die out on it's own, there's no need to blow on it."

Of course some folks have to deal with this bull in real life and have actually been bullied for it. While I've sadly gotten like... no negative responses for my brony cloths, so I have no active experiance to offer. I'd like however to point any bully sufferers to this thread as an example of the support system you have with us.

  5. Welcome to Canterlot! You strike me more as a Pinkie Pie with all that energy. Though a love for acting and a pension for the dramatic might lean you more towards Rarity. Simple observations mind you. Introducing myself

I'm Kryptchild! Artistic hobbyest and gamer. If you're interested in custom avatars, poke around my thread in the art section. Hope your stay with us is fun and we can all be friends and such forth!

  6. Welcome to Canterlot CandiedDigits. There's punch and cookies by the door.

Also it's up to you if you identify as a Brony or a Pegasister. I personally prefer to keep Brony a non gender specific term... also it's shorter.

So how are those beaches out there in the midwest?

  7. Oh jeeze I'd probably panic. I am like, the worst pet owner ever. After the initial shock I'd see about introducing them to my world since they'd probably not care about telling me about Equestria (considering I already know a bunch).

After that the massive bragging would begin. I'd take videos and pictures and flood EQD and youtube until securing my space as "that one guy what got a pony" in the history books.

Also my first blindbag was a 'limited edition' glittery Rainbow Dash.

  8. Next Wednesday I plan to play Killing Floor on Steam for a good part of the evening and I was wondering if anypony is willing to join me!

This weekend I'll be trying to figure out how to host a server so that we can actually play. I'll update this thread by Sunday with the server name, but until then you can pester me on steam via "Kryptchild".

If this goes well, I might start a Canterlot Killing Floor group.

If you're interested reply in the thread with the following (I'll fill it out too with an example)

    Steam Name - Kryptchild

    Time Zone -Central

Most Likely to be online during- Afternoon into the evening

Prefered Perk Class (and Rank) - Medic rank 4 and Support rank 4

Class you hope to level - Commando Rank 3

3 Favorite Maps - West London, Suburbs, and Hospital Horrors

Your plan/hope for the event - I plan to start matches using Medic to keep people alive and ensure survivability. I've soloed Pat before on medic and tend to eat Scrakes. At around wave 4 or 5 I hope to switch over to Demolition to level it up a bit. If we're lacking in a specific class I'm willing and able to switch out for balance.

Anything else? - I tend to hog Scrakes on Medic and I never ever ever play Berzerker.

Hope to see you there and remember, all ranks and skill levels are welcome! Server will likely be set to Normal or Hard Difficulty.

  9. What is your Steam name?

Just like everywhere else on the internet I go by Kryptchild. Occasionally on Killing Floor I'll go with "Whitemage is Best Pony" while I'm running medic, or "Pinkie Pie is Best Tau" on Dawn of War II.

What game do you play the most via Steam?

Team Fortress 2, Killing Floor, Dawn of War II Last Stand, G-mod, Civilization V, and I also have Alien Swarm and Section 8, but no-one plays those. If anyone DOES want to play them, I'm game.

    What is your favorite game?

Killing Floor and TF2 are tops.

    Do you have a group?

No groups yet. Or at least none that I'm a part of. I've been invited to groups before, but they were blind invites.

Do you "play on Mac" or Windows?

    LOL wut

  10. And everything went better than expected...

Glad your parents were understanding. Parents usually are, even if they come off as pretty harsh at first. I'm probably even more glad to see just how fast we rallied to show our support.

Anyway, have fun at Bronycon Thoth and company. I wish I could go but I have classes through the summer that I can't miss. Perhaps I can make it to the one next January.

  11. It's all a matter of personal preference really. Everyone has toleration levels and yeah I've seen people take it pretty far.

I will admit that I do love my ponified FFVI though... but yeah, everyone has a limit. Just don't try and make your personal limit apply to the entire fandom is my advice. There are things I'd hate to see ponified and things I bounce up and down in joy when I see ponified. Heck, my WEB BROWSER has a program option installed where I can replace words with pony variations if the mood strikes me.

    Moderation and personal threshold.

  12. Dear Thoth's family

I respect your skepticism and zeal to protect your son from something you fear to be harmful. It's a parent's sworn duty to their child to keep them safe and nurtured until they're able to leave the nest and make the best of their own lives.

But I ask you, before you place your stamp of disapproval you consider not only what your son has found his interest in... but why he is interested in it to begin with.

    As for myself...

Our fandom is unique and overtly strange, I can not deny that. Before actually watching the show for myself I was convinced Bronies were a bunch of crazed basement dwelling furry neckberads (no offense to you folks with neck hair). Having grown up in the 90s and so on I, like my peers have been spoon fed the cynicism, comedic racism, and down right slanderous nature of our modern media. It's gotten to the point where news networks are doing more name calling then actual reporting... and it had it's effect on me. I used to be a pretty cynical jerk with no real goal in life and a disdain for my fellow man. I'd tell people off, laugh at strangers less fortunate than me, and was unmotivated to do anything with my life.

The purely positive attitude the show projects sucked the modern venom right out of me, and I've learned a bit from each character.

Pinkie Pie reminded me that there's always something to smile about.

Rarity taught me that offering aid to others helps not just them, but everyone around you.

Applejack showed me that you can take pride in your work, and that it pays to commit.

Rainbow Dash is a constant reminder that giving up is not an option, and taking naps once in a while really helps the metabolism.

Fluttershy softened my tongue and helped me become much more civil and soft spoken, and I've made a lot more friends outside the fandom because of it.

And Twilight Sparkle gave me the motivation I needed to buckle down and pursue a goal in life, instead of just list through it.

Now I'm in trade school to be a massage therapist, from there I'll be moving on to get training in physical therapy and EMT training so I can have a versatile career field in helping others. I've donated to charity (something I've NEVER done before) and I've taken up a childhood passion of mine: drawing. I'm still pretty much a novice, but I'm dedicated and I draw for both my own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others.

So label me how you will, I'll think no less of you for your decision. You're just protecting your son, after all. I just hope that your heart and mind are open enough to hear our rally for a stranger... a friend... a brother.

    Yours Truely

    ~Kryptchild

  13. Avatars may be delayed a few days due to life. A friend of mine is in town for about nine more days before shipping off to Hawaii for three years (marines). I likely won't be able to effectively use my tablet until this weekend as a combination of classes, booze, and energy drink fueled debotchery will have me zombified until Saturday.

I may have free time Thursday, but that's a big maybe.

I'll still lurk the forums till then, and request slots are still open. But I'm definately setting aside this weekend for art stuff. I wana do a few more avatars, work on that secret project thing I said I'd do, make my corrections to that collaborative drawing, and get a few posts on Pharms blog which I've been neglecting.

Gosh I'm good at making myself busy...

  14. Inkscape huh? I'll have to look into that later today when I have time.

Sai has been good to me so far, and I think I'm getting used to using it. I've pretty much been exclusively using the Brush and eraser tool for all of my work. The layer system for Sai is pretty well organized, I usually end up with like 40 some layers by the time I'm done with small projects.
