  1. Heart jumped a little, then smiled apologetically. She nodded eagerly at the other mare. “I have to say choir was my favorite class, well, activity in school.” When asked what brought her here, Heart considered. “Sheer interest, I’d have to say. I was a performer for a few months, but I’m just a voice teacher now…” With no students, the traitor voice inside her head whispered. “I never really kept to one genre; I judge each song on its own merits.” Her grin turned a little crooked, remembering the headache that had given her later teachers—only her first vocal instructor, in Ponyville, had understood. “How about you? I’m Heart Song, by the way, but you can call me Heart.”
  2. Heart Song entered the convention with an equal mix of excitement and trepidation. She’d always wanted to come to a Music Expo—but her teachers had frowned upon it during her classical training in Canterlot, and for two years afterward she’d been…busy. But now she was here, and the pale-pink earth pony was drinking it in, head turning this way and that, trying to decide what to do first. She hadn’t had time to prepare a booth, having been preoccupied with a recent move, but she was hoping word-of-mouth advertisement would work. Though the demand for voice lessons hasn’t been all that high recently…I may need to branch out, soon. Heart lingered by the choir, eyes closed, chin slightly raised, ears practically vibrating as the sound washed over her. She enjoyed many genres—but she had a soft spot for the traditional sound of a full choir, with its rich harmonies and soaring melodies. “There’s just nothing quite like it…” Heart muttered softly, almost absently.
  3. Like some that have posted so far, I'm pretty young, but I have to say the high-point so far is somewhere in: 1. Realizing I didn't have to give up on my passion of drama—there are ways of being an actor without it being your main mode of support 2. Joining Speech and debate club (I know—total nerd; but after six years, the whole region is like my extended family) 3. Finishing the (first draft) of my book, and realizing I wasn't sick of it yet—a first for me (still working on editing it, though) 4. Visiting a college and realizing that this is somewhere I could see myself spending four years of my life, and realizing I felt safe there (long story involving poor eyesight and childhood nightmares)
  4. If the convention is in MAnehatten, my character Heart song may show up as an ameuture trying to drum up soem business--she wouldn't got to Canterlot (long story). http://www.canterlot.com/topic/9078-ospreys-log/
  5. Heart Song perked up when Douglas mentioned his profession. “You don’t say? My stuff should be coming down from Canterlot on a train later today…If it wouldn’t be too much of a bother, I’d like to hire you to help—it shouldn’t be too much, I only lived in an apartment there for a few months after graduation…” She smiled at Lore as he offered his greetings. “It really is good to be back,” she said sincerely, “I’m looking forward to the more relaxed pace of life here. I don’t know how my brother stands it in Canterlot, but he seems, well, suited to it.” The pale pink earth pony smiled as the proprietor of the shop walked up. “Hello there! I’m sort of new, and I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before—my name’s Heart Song.”
  6. ((Sorry for skipping you, IceStormx, but I don’t want this to die. You should probably work your character into this conversation, if you can.)) Heart Song smiled when Lore Weaver chuckled, remembering her myriad of experiences at being the ‘new pony.’ Heart bobbed her head politely to Douglas as he introduced himself. In answer to Lore Weaver’s question, Heart’s smile turned a little wry. “Well, both, to tell the truth.” She laughed, shaking her head at the odd situation. “I grew up here, but I moved around a lot, recently. I finally figured out that this is really the best place for me, so I came back a few days ago.” She turned expectantly to Douglas, awaiting his answer to the question, enjoying her raspberry sherbet all the while. It was really good.
  7. Weel, I've got three characters not currently involved in any RPs. I've got Thespian Thespony, the acting pony; or the twins Swing beat and Fictoria (I can RP them seperately or together). I'm trying to plan an RP with the twins but haven't gotten any responses. if that doesn't interest you, I'm open to other ideas, with any of my characters. (See my log here: http://www.canterlot.com/topic/9078-ospreys-log/#entry266300 ). Let me know if your itnerested!
  8. Icestorm, do you feel there's something you can respond to, or do you just want me to skip you? (I suddenly realized we didn't give you much this time around.)

  10. Hello, Everypony! I’m planning on an RP to introduce my two newest characters: the unicorn twins Swing Beat and Fictoria, and I need some other RP-ers. (I figured I could get the jump start on planning while awaiting the final step of Fictoria’s approval.) Here’s the basic idea: Swing Beat and Fictoria are taking swing-dance lessons at the Coltlyle Club in Baltimare (Beat: intermediate; Ria: Beginner). The lessons are run back-to-back, with a free dance period after the intermediate lesson. Fictoria’s only there because her sister talked her into it, and she’s not entirely happy, but love can happen at the most unexpected times… In this story, each sister meets a ‘special somepony,’ in Beat’s case, a fellow intermediate student, and Ria falls for a colt who shows up for free dance (or another student, if you’d prefer). Beyond the initial meeting, the story can go anywhere, and isn’t limited to taking place in the one place for the one night. Character slots: Intermediate Student: Free-dance attendee/student:CloudShimmers Teacher/owner of the club (if you really want in—this one’s not crucial, but can be comic relief as s/he is rather sarcastic):'Penumbra' Dewdrop-- FermataTheBasse If you’re interested, comment below! For reference, here are my character bios: Ria: http://www.canterlot...al/#entry262347 Beat: http://www.canterlot...al/#entry251073
  11. That's okay, IceStorm, I just figured you were a little busy; and anyway, it's moving right along, now...
  12. Heart looked up at the unicorn stallion who’d come over to speak to her. “I’m Heart Song. It’s nice to meet you, Lore Weaver, have you lived here long?” She briefly remembered him coming out of a bookstore, and made a mental note to check it out later—he may have some interesting song books she could purchase, or she could find another fiction series to hold her interest. Heart nodded to the colt who’d just received his treat. “Good day to you, sir. I’m Heart Song, this is Lore Weaver, and you would be?”
  13. Heart Song smiled at the unicorn mare running the stand, taking the cone. She scanned the menu, saw the price, and gave a moderate tip as well. The last job had paid well, so she was feeling generous. As she tried the sherbet, her smile widened. Raspberry was her all-time favorite flavor, and this was one of the best raspberry sherbets she’d ever had. Ashe stepped to the side, allowing the ponies behind her to step up to the stand, but didn’t go far. She wanted to talk to someone—get to know ponies. It was all a part of settling down. Perhaps, once they got their treats, she could strike up a conversation. Thes wouldn’t have waited…but then, Thes could’ve started talking to a grouchy griffon, and they’d have been a good friend by the end of the conversation… Heart’s good mood subdued slightly at the thought of her gregarious friend, remembering how long it’d been since she’d seen him, and why. Heart shook her head, trying to banish gloomy thoughts.

  15. ^ Send me the link, and i'll look over it! Alright guys, here it is: (I thought we'd each introduce our characters before the storm hits) http://www.canterlot.com/topic/10951-i%e2%80%99m-back-where-i-belong%e2%80%a6right-with-icestormx-lux-and-otsdarva/
  16. Heart Song smiled as she walked the streets of Ponyville once more. After so long, it’s good to be home. She’d made the decision to return to her hometown after almost two years of roaming Equestria and, of course, six years in Canterlot. She’d been traveling, in search of a new home. Little did I know, new home is old home. There was no doubt about it—she knew as soon as she came back to town that this was where she belonged. She’d rented a home in the same neighborhood as her parents, and contacted her brother, Earth Writer, to send her stuff from her old apartment in Canterlot. As a matter of fact, I’ve got to be sure to meet the train this afternoon, and find someone to help carry it all to the house… But, for now, there was nothing to do but re-acquaint herself with the old place. There are so many ponies that must’ve moved here since I left—I barely recognize a soul! The pale-pink earth pony’s smile widened as the warm sunlight bathed her, and she began trotting with eyes-half closed, indigo mane and tail bouncing slightly. Of course, sun t at bright meant heat, and soon, Heart began searching for something to help cool off. There! An ice cream/ice treats stand! Perfect! I don’t recognize the pony running it though…Oh, well, no time like the present to meet new ponies in the old neighborhood! Heart nodded to the unicorn mare running the stand. “Excuse me? I would like a scoop of raspberry sherbet in a cone, please.”
  17. Thank you so much! I'm not even sure how I came up with it...Guess I was just trying to come up with a name that would fit a swing-dancing pony.
  18. ^Sure! That's fine. (I'm going to be really busy today, unable to post, but I'll start the topic tomorrow--Pinki-Pie Promise.)
  19. So...any ideas? (I'm kind of stumped...Lux, any input?)
  20. Hmmm...good point. let's flip those two paragraphs...
  21. Oh, I didn't mean she leaves ponyville, I just meant something happens to make it a less-than-ordinary day (unfortunately, I don't know what). She's going to stay in Ponyville at least until Thes finds her.
