1. The word filter is a load of hokey. The things it blocks and doesn't block are ridiculous. Not to mention that a censor really messes up the 18+ board. How am I supposed to play a coked up racer if I can't throw out any vulgarities without their meaning being hidden? I know a lot of people say vulgarities are a crutch, and a bit of creativity can solve that problem, but sometimes the character you're playing is exactly the kind to spew expletives every five seconds, and that's no longer possible.

Also the shortening for ****ation isn't a swearword unless you're an 18th century Catholic. I hardly ever swear in real life, but I don't think I've gone a day without saying that in god knows how long. It's the word my mum advised using rather than swearing.

    What is this word?

    And yes, it is hokey.

  2. Yes, if Spike was OLDER, I could perhaps see him with Rarity. But at their current ages, it's weird.

I don't tend to like Spike at the size he is now with Rarity either, it's unnerving. It really puts spike in a weird position, since in my head canon the CMC aren't older than 8 so they aren't suitable to little puppy love either. My head canon Spike is suffering a in a twilight like state of being OLD enough, but not being physically mature enough and vice versa.

  3. I agree! I think it's quite weird when people legitimately ship them.

You are right that they probably age differently. Dragons in lore tend to live thousands of years, while ponies on Earth live to be around 30. However, it has been said numerous times in show that Spike is, at current, a baby Dragon. Rarity runs and owns her own business, and is obviously an adult. Twilight hatched Spike when she was a child, so she is already 5-10 years older than he is. If he could have a legitimate romantic relationship with Rarity, he could just as easily have one with Twilight. And you know what I say to that?

For some reason I can't see ponies in MLP aging at the same rate. It just doesn't seem like the case, if we knew how old ponyville was we'd have a decent idea. It just seems unlikely that ponyville is >30 years old.

Of course you are right in that regard, but with dragons since greed and possession heavily affect their growth rates it's not really a good way to describe a dragon past the hatchling stage of it's life. It's entirely possible for Spike to remain that size until the day Rarity dies, we just don't know enough about dragon maturation to really say.

What I'm saying is that age Twilight hatched him before magic kindergarten (which for a human would be around the age of 4-6) we have no idea how old Twilight is, but I like to think that noone in the mane is is over the equivalent of a 21 year old woman. So at absolute maximum we have a 12-21 spread (in my head) which I can lower even further with facts like Rarity wasn't formally trained, and didn't go to school for what she does (or has yet to be stated) and assuming that as a prodigy, Twilight hatched Spike when she was 4. That can bring the gap down to 14(Spike)-18(Rarity).

    (BTW thats my head canon)

Then there is the problem with Spike being a baby. I agree that the way Spike looks now, it would be creepy. But most fic that are Spike x Rarity actually had both Celestia and Twilight be competent enough to regulate greed and possession for Spike at some point so that he could be at a stage in his life that was most comparable to what a colt the same age would be. That or Spike left then, returned aged up because his experiences.

TL;DR: I don't think age is much of an issue, it's maturation and because of the fact that Spike is a dragon he is pretty much being cheated. Remember how spike looked in the middle of "Secret of my Excess" when he was maybe about 3/4 the size of a diamond dog? That's how large I believe he would be if they regulated his dragon tendencies to let him grow at a manageable rate.

  4. She could've come by train, but she had the bits for airship travel so why spare anything when it comes to luxury. The vehicle touched down smoothly and Gear exited the ship. With her hooves on solid ground she sucked in a dead breath then exhaled.

Canterlot, the city of dreams. Gear Shift could only scoff at the title, more like were dreams went to die to her. That was just her biased opinion though, after flunked out of the magical and mechanical engineering university she sort of held a grudge against the city. She shook the mean thoughts from her head. No me and the professors at the university for just didn't see eye to eye.

Adjusting her goggles, the the salamander unicorn navigated the streets of Canterlot with memorized efficiency. She wiped her licorice black bang away from her eye and levitated the flier out of her bag and took another look at it. The warehouse across from the Army Historical Museum. She knew where the museum was so that part was. Committing the emblem on the flier to memory, she puled her vest tight and fastened her saddle bags then checked her surroundings.

She reached the museum and scanned the area for the crest that was printed on her flier. "Ah ha!" She said in an accomplished tone when she found the symbol. There was a tanned coloured stallion with a decently filled saddle bag and a white mare there as well. She thought about teleporting over there just to save time, but she didn't want to startle the ponies. Instead, she opted to just casually stroll on over there.

"Um, hi. You ponies here about that magic guild?" She asked casually

  5. If you really want to make this story interwined Spaced. That Grandmaster of yours can in fact be very aware of who Grim Stride, son of Gen. Grimlocke and lady Grim Rose, is. And comment on ignoring him for now, or go for a two kill for one situation.

Bonus points for insulting the honor of Grim's bloodline along the lines of him leaving his father to die; his father deserting his wife and nation to protect a malificar child, thus losing his honor as a knight; and his mother's practice of generously donating to the chantry to get them to increase their efforts to kill him, thus solidifying her as a wretch not even mare enough to defend her child.

Straight up, that would break his will to fight on the spot.

  6. And just why are the Templars now... not going to outright attack him too? Just wondering about that...

Well they could its definitely possible, if they were under my control they would. I actually planned on having stuff happen to explain fully Grim's back story since he joined the Warden Midnight doesn't even know the nature of whats between him the the Templars he just knows how they found Grim.

Stretches credibility a tad, don't you think?

What? That fact that grim is alive or a warden?

Um, not to stir trouble, but I thought he spent his life on the run from Templars? I mean there's quite a difference. As Nexar has been saying, if we approach this in a completely unbiased manner then the thought of a young apostate who doesn't know how to use his powers and his trained warrior father taking on hordes of Templars is a bit ridiculous. I mean small groups may be fair game with a bit of luck and some planning, but to say he's spent his entire life killing Templars, well, there's some things that not even a right of conscription can save you from. It takes a lot of convincing from Duncan just to get you off the hook if you play mage in Origins, and you haven't killed anyone.

Never large groups small squads, and the description "spent his life living templars" is justifiable seeing as that is pretty much the sole reason he was trained. He didn't literally wake up every morning and kill templars for breakfast. More like the key defining moments of his life revolved around killing templars like his father dying which he blames in a round about way on the templars. It's the same way a my grandfather says he spent his life killing germans even though world war two wasn't very long and didn't kill alot of people just that those moments defined his life. Seeing as Grim is at most equal to an 18 year old, and he's been fighting them since he was probably around 8 it is definitely an appropriate description.

  7. Well, let's just face that winning is an impossibility. No way can is this a fight that can be one. Hoax might be able to take on one templar - if she was lucky. Maybe three or four if she had blood magic. But all it would take would be one or two holy smites and BOOM. Job done.

We could always have an intervention by the grand Cleric or somepony else.

Hoax has a plan B anyway...

Pretty much Hoax is the only one really bad off here.

Now you're sounding too overconfident to look like anything else than a Powergamer. I'm sorry, it's true that these Templars don't have a name written in golden letters above their head, but still they can easily be treated as capable fighters, trained by the best, serving a long tradition and most likely used to fight mages, demons and therelike. So I doubt that a single stallion would take on 5 of them at the same time. But if you feel like charging them, go ahead. I just can say, that this could be a welcome distraction for some to flee, and that you afterwards might just be alone vs the 13 Templars in total. Have a nice day. (And I really hope, that there wont be more powergaming than what already has been...)

Was this supposed to be a question? If so, it isn't actually quiet hard to look if it's moved, right?

Just in case: Yes, the thread got moved to the 18+ area.

I've started playing Dragon Age Origins today again, and all I can say is: it pretty much looks like if the whole world was afraid of magic and the Templars were the shield of Farelden to protect them from Mages and Demons. Oh yes, that definitly turns them into the good ones here.

I'm not saying that they aren't capable, the opposite actually. I'm pretty sure they are great since they are with the grandmaster. But Grim has been killing Templars since he could hold a sword and really blames them and himself for his fathers death. He'd never under any circumstances help them do anything. That however conflicts with the goal of Killing shadow because Grim was ordered to do so and Templar's are in his way.

I will try diplomacy, but I can't guarantee you the the town wont be painted red. Also don't get me wrong I'm not power gaming at all our characters have already been shown to be extremely dangerous in the thread. The grandmaster is the only real threat there and only because he has minions there.

    Exactly what I said...

In fact, I don't know why Midnight gave out a killorder. I mean... Shadow is a pegasus. He can fly. Why shouldn't he go on ahead and do something else? I haven't read anywhere, that he is some kind of slave to the Wardens, not allowed to do something by his own.

Final thing I could try... Shapechanging into someone with a high rank of the Templars, but for that Nexar would need to know what he looks like.

I assumed it was because Midnight could sense the demonic possession and wanted him either near or dead for safety reasons.

  8. which is why this is brilliant. xD

also, Hoax could just peg it for now and turn up again later to bug you.

I pretty much thought of both ways it could go down. You have one big bag named Templar there right. Grim would negotiate for shadow's head. Grim certainly will still have his game face on and still threaten them. This can actually get pretty deep.

If a fight break out the Chantry wouldn't do anything too crazy, or the deal can be made and they renig on it like assumed they would.

  9. So, short summary:

Killing Shadow and Hoax (either because of the order, or because of beeing an apostate and enemy to the Chantry) is no option, PVP is not allowed and I also wouldn't like to be in a RP where player characters get killed by other player characters only because they didn't want to start with the group or wanted to post with someone else to make a really nice story together.

Leaving them to the Templars isn't an option either. It would result in two player characters getting killed, same as above.

Charging and killing the Templars? Just another option that totally isn't going to be the one we are using. It would result in 12 Templars and a Commander vs one Warden Apostate (didn't the Templars have heavy armor as well as abilities to counter magic?), one Warden Rogue, another Rogue, a Mage and the Crossbow Rogue. Of course we wouldn't be in a tactical good position either, we just aren't the spartans or anything like them (or anything better than them), and victory would be fairly unlikely. Without losses on our side probably even impossible. And no matter the outcome of this battle, either the Grey Wardens would throw every warden of us out of their ranks and hunt us toghether with the Chantry, or the Chantry and all of Equestria would turn against the Grey Wardens which are protecting criminals who attacked Templars and protected an apostate.

Oh yes, the final and probably only working option would be to try on diplomatic, and by that I mean real diplomatic, not that kind of diplomatic where you bring your weapon to the negation of a Peace treaty.

These Templars are elite mooks they don't even have names. Add to the fact that the only one disadvantaged in this fight is Hoax twelve templars vs 2 wardens and both Shadows characters plus Hoax is definitely beyond winnable. It's actually trivial. That's like saying the ninja turtles wouldn't have won most of the fights they did against the foot.

    Did the thread get moved.

  10. Actually, if you recall - The wardens were banned from Ferelden for abusing their powers.

Which is why I said it would end the same way.

All using the rites would accomplish is getting kicked out of stalliongrad and secret Templar death squads ambushing use everywhere because if they really took the time to set Hoax up, I doubt they would just let her go. The Warden lose no matter what the deal is.

  11. Not really, no one like's Templars and if the Chantry came after the Warden's they'd essentially consign the world to oblivion. Thus no one in their right mind would support the Chantry in hunting Wardens.

We haven't written a hole...we've written an excellent sub plot.
