GearShift had been in town for about a week studying the Everfree Forest in an attempt to understand the magical phenomenons that cause the place to defy the laws of the pony world and if their were some way to counter act it. Her research had mostly brought up more questions and those questions had their own questions, meaning that it was time for GearShift what she does best. Study!

The light salmon colored unicorn was studying in her caravan cart trying to compose herself and get her finds straight. The books she had with her were a great help, but they didn't help her form ideas coherently, and that was the problem. She decided that a change of scenery would be for the best. Suddenly a thought hit her, the unicorn leaned over and dug through a stack of newspapers and fliers situated next to her and pulled out a paper detailing a discussion session at a local book store. Today, wonderful. She thought. Just what I need to sort out the mess in my head. With that GearShift put on her black leather work vest and threw her goggles around her neck. She levitated a few bits and a pocket watch into her one of her pockets and her basic tool-set into the other. She did one last double check to make sure everything was in order, content she trotted out of her cart and locked up.

GearShift arrived at the bookstore after a few minutes of walking, she stepped up to the door. She adjusted her vest and ran a hoof through her red and black hair before finally walking in. The interior was wonderfully organized and the stores collection was quite impressive. Definitely need to come back here. She said to herself. She began to walk around running a hoof across the spine or several books as her amber eyes analyzed them all meticulously. She didn't even notice the two ponies in the area with her.

Twilight definitely still has a long way to go, though. They cant develop too much though, else they'll lose their personalities.

And people keep saying angel went from mean to nice, but angel has been on fluttershy's side from the beginning, starting with ticket master. He pushed her to try for something she really wanted. Yeah, hes a spoiled brat(to put it mildly) sometimes, but he's got his itty bitty rabbit heart in the right place sometimes.

I agree, but I don't agree. You can't over develop a character (out of their personality) unless the ordeal is just being handled by a bad writer. Character development really has little to do with personalities (relatively), it's more than that. It's hard to explain, but characters have pulled complete heel face turns without any change in personality. The mane 6 have had no changes in personality.

On Topic: I don't think twilight counts since most of the episodes are her learning friendship lessons and learning how to be a good pony. So excluding her I'd have to say Fluttershy>RD>Pinkie>Rarity>AJ

From what I can tell based on what we've seen. AJ can get background development, but her persona as is currently doesn't need much adjusting. Nearly all of her most notable qualities are positive. Rarity hasn't had enough episodes about her to flesh things out. Pinkie, oh pinkie. After Party of one she needs episodes equivalent to dragonshy, putting your hooves down, and hurricane fluttershy to go into her mindset.

PS Am I the only one who didn't think negatively about Rarity when I first was introduced to the character? I just thought she was acting Highbrow and meticulous. There are much worse things to be.

GearShift could see the small amount of annoyance building on Ice Storm's. It probably wasn't even noticeable to most of the ponies in the party, but GearShift was use to dealing with blowhard ponies who thought they were above common folk and even more accustom to the looks the garner from the ponies around them. Serendipity was most obviously calling attention to herself, but it was truly harmless. She wasn't purposely talking over ponies heads to make them feel bad, or putting down the common pony so GearShift, in all honesty could say that she had seen much worse.

As for Skyla, I think I'll go with Phil's prediction with her being connected to the Crystal Empire in some way -- though the dialogue on the toy "Mommy, are you a Princess too?" might make her Cadence's.

While I don't believe any of the mane 6 have a disorder, none of them are 'normal'. But then again who is? I think they were just trying to say that everyone is quite crazy when the right buttons are pushed.

I read a few chapters of it this morning, though the villains there were not exactly what I had in mind. My theoretical Queen-antagionist would be someone who really believes in nuturing and spreading Harmony throughout all the land... so much so that she'd be willing to order questionable deeds like burning down the Everfree Forest (nothing there but horrible monsters), launching an all-out war on the Changelings (because Harmony is at stake!), and forbidding ponies from ever, ever having any sort of conflicts/disputes/ect. with one another (arguing is bad, mmkay?).

Keep reading, he characterizes them and even explains what happened to the point that you understand both antagonists and start to have a little pity for them. Trust me when I say that Titan and Terra WERE what you are talking about.

Future villains, eh? Well, if Discord was all about Chaos, then perhaps Ponykind needs a villain who desires Order and Harmony at all costs... a long-lost alicorn Queen of Equestria, possibly. While this Queen wouldn't be a sadist or other type of mustache-twirler, her methods of ruling would be misguidedly authoritarian compared to those of Princess Celestia. Ironically, this Queen actually does more to foster disharmony and chaos as the citizens of Equestria refuse to tolerate a seemingly-tyrannical ruler.

Well, I would think that the Everfree must have something that could pose as a worthwhile villain in it. After all, things just don't get that spooky. Think about it: if Discord being trapped in stone had no effects on the garden he was trapped in, just imagine what would have to be so terrifying that it could posses the entirety of a remarkably large forest to be as dangerous as Ponyville makes it out to be.

Of course, assuming said force is trapped in the Everfree...

My Idea for a villian always centers around what I've seen about the world. I think Equestria is an unnatural Utopia and that Discord was nothing more than an agent for something else. For some reason I think that there was a being that let the world settle in its natural order and govern itself but Celestia and Luna seeing the suffering and hardship of ponykind used to elements on him. Because they aren't as powerful as them the most they can influence is a country, but the rest of the world remains in its natural state. Perhaps this being is sealed somewhere in the Everfree.

1. As for the additional lore that KKat talked about, she mentioned about 3 groups prominent in Stalliongrad, one of them the Steel Ranger Contingent. The other two are ponies from 2 Vaults that opened up recently. One vault had sheer technology and firepower like the rangers (they also controlled the healing fields farming for herbs that make health potions) while the other is a whole group of peace loving pacifists (remnants of the Ministry of Health, in other words Fluttershy's followers). Below is part of a log from the chat I witnessed KKat explain this new lore. (Little_Gloom is KKat's FoE OC):

That's why the Equestrian Wasteland hasn't run out of healing potions in 200 years... the faction that has taken control of the Healing Fields is manufacturing and selling Healing Potions.

<@Little_Gloom> Third, much like "normal" radiation creates ghouls, the magical radiation of the Healing Fields tethers the souls of the dead to the area, preventing them from moving on. Both the souls of those buried under the Healing Fields, and the souls of those who caught at the edge of the megaspell when it went off. This is why Stalliongrad seems to have a lot of ghost lurking around.

<@Little_Gloom> FWIW: Fluttershy's initial megaspell is partially why the ponies of the Wasteland have been able to survive this long. Things would be a lot worse, and the population a lot lower, if there wasn't a good, renewable source for healing potions.

2) Yes and No, Steelhooves has no control over the Manehattan Contingent. When the divide occurred the Stalliongrad Contingent extended their hooves in allegiance and support to Steelhooves and Applejack's Rangers.

5) Calamity mentioned the Commonwealth, but didn't elaborate on them at all. So I'm expanding the idea.

-Oh wow so thats where healing potions come from, now it makes even more sense for The Stalliongrad area to be a bit more prosperous.

I might need to create this thread in the other OOC section as well to get more players, Light and Arik alone probably wouldn't be enough to handle the challenges. At least a party of four since I was going to use Arik and a Steelranger.

Arik can just carry her, oh he'd mouth off about it but its all good.

This would be a cool campaign if done in PNP. I'd love to help you out being a GM but I got my hooves full being GM to a live PNP FoE chatroom-based game already. So I prefer being a player since this sounds so interesting. Still we'll see, as GM-based forum games are much more difficult to handle.

I have a few questions though.

1. Does some of this take place in Stalliongrad? If so I'd like to share some new lore about post-apocalyptic Stalliongrad. I frequent the Fallout Equestria Resource Chatrooms and KKat adds some stuff to the lore every now and then. Would love to share with you what I know.

2. Since you are involving the Steel Rangers, is this the original "WE OWN ALL YOUR TECHNOLOGY" faction? Or is this the "WE HELP EVERYPONY" faction? In the FoE Fics, the Steel Rangers split up when Steelhooves decided to abide by the principles of Applejack therefore creating an "Outcast Steel Rangers" faction.

3. And since we're on the topic of FoE canon, what timeline does this occur? Has Little Pip (FoE) / Blackjack (FoE:PH) already left their stables and caused significant changes around Equestria? Does this happen before any major events? Or is this its own timeline?

4. Also New Applelossa is in Red Eye's territory as the town somewhat indirectly answers to him. It's gonna be difficult for Steel Rangers to setup base there since he has Griffon patrols in that area.

5. As far as I know, the "largest broadcasting station" is the one in Tenpony Tower in the Manehattan ruins. The one controlled by Homage aka DJPON3 making her broadcasts across the wasteland.

I'd really love to have my Griffon be a part of this since she's a mercenary and all. That's it for my questions... for now.

Well the job of a the Second GM would be simply to take over in case I couldn't post. Even on days when I can't post I can still find time to reply to PM's and such. The only thing they would have to do is consult me on how to handle whatever was going on and I'd give them the brunt of it and let them Ad-lib it from there.

Good questions. Luckily I have my bases covered I think.

1) We will be there, but nothing monumental was going to happen in Stalliongrad. Since nothing in the FoE fics i've read had done no more then offhandedly mention the place I used it as the city the Stalliongrad Steel Rangers operate out of, but so lore info straight from KKat would be nice to hear.

2) These are the definitely not the jerk rangers. They are actually well received in tech is secondary to civilian safety for them. I was aware that they had a schism so I used a different Steel Ranger emblem for this thread instead of the normal one.

3) This is definitely after Red Eye was killed, but before Little Pip when inside the S.P.P. That's when I would like to say it takes place, because Arik is working off of FoE's timeline. Other than that it's ambiguous.

4) Red Eye is definitely dead, any griffons that were his and still in the area likely work under Gawdyna. Even though her mercs had spats with the Steel Rangers at one point, I don't think it would come to blows without provocation, neither side wants to start anything.

5) Well the letter said in their region, not the largest in equestria. Also the tower in question is more like a WiFi tower or metropolitian area network than a radio tower and not broadcasting in the same frequency. Its more of its own self contained network linked to all the operating facilities in Marelia, for transporting information and command instructions to machines.

I watched most of Dragon knight, and I've been trying to find time to sit and watch OOO.

I've seen literally all of the american power ranger series, just have watched and compared them with their japanese counterparts yet.

From Dragon Knight Torque and Strike were my boys, just so much win between the two of them.

And from power rangers Tommy as the green ranger, the white ranger and the black dino ranger was awesome; IMHO Conner and Jack were best red rangers, and Omega from SPD was amazing.

There were some rangers from lost galaxy that I really liked, and one from timeforce but i can't remember!

I will jump in in a little bit.

Also Korok's griffon can't fly, but it's not really a problem.

- Arik BlackFeather has restored the town of Arbu, with ponies populating the settlement once again Arik believes he can make the place more prosperous than ever.

Follow him on his adventures across the wastes as he tries to bring renown to himself and his town. Too bad nothing ever goes right for him...or maybe it does? Oh did i mention he's a 200 year old amnesiac cyborg griffon? Its's kind of important.

Sentinel

-During the defense of earth a N7 sentinel is transported to a strange land after a large explosion. Meanwhile in a more reclusive sector of the galaxy a rouge Specter has been tracked and captured. Her escape attempt causes a deep space disaster, but instead of being killed she wakes up in the same land as the sentinel.

Meanwhile an ancient evil is awakened by the disturbance caused by arrival of the two humans, desperate to find her new destroyer she attempts to influence the two humans into willingly becoming her new host.

Both are interesting. I like the Air Gear crossover one. The best thing I've done when I have a new fanfic idea is to created a document that just has a running list of all story ideas.

Pretty much what I do sometimes, i see how far i can take itand if it makes sense I give it a whirl.

Power Six

- A human in equestria fic where equestria turns out to be earth after the planet recovered from a magical disaster. One which wiped out the human race all except for 6 humans who where changed into the embodiments of six elements of natural elements (earth, wind, water, fire, light, and darkness). During Celestia and luna's reign thousands of years before the beginning of FiM, the humans became aware of themselves and 'awoke'. Filled with rage and contempt the six "Titans" ravaged equestria in an attempt to wipe out ponykind to allow humanity to raise up again. The alicorn sisters defeated the magical titans with the elements of harmony sealing them in stone.

After discord was defeated a wave of harmony rippled through the country and disturbed seals on the titans collectively called the power six. One day sometime later anomalies in equestria's ecosystem start to spring up flash fires, tornado's, earthquakes, floodes etc...Celestia and Luna sense the awakening of the power six so she sends Twilight to find the resting ground of darkness whose powers have yet to seep out.

How does all of this turn out?

Storm Riders

- An air gear crossover. A new recreational craze has hit equestria. Air Treks! ponies everywhere are picking them up and trying them, eventually ponies began forming teams (called storm riders) for competitive sport with teams ranked from F-A. But like with other things, shady characters abused the potential of ATs causing commercial units to be installed with ability inhibitors and massive restrictions to be placed on their use which eventually led to a stigma placed on AT riders and groups. In manehattan, a young earthpony stallion named SlipStream joined a storm rider team recently after getting his first set of ATs. During his initiation his his team was jumped and forced to disband by another team, not wanting to give up riding he left manehattan and travelled all the way to ponyville for somewhere quiet to hone his skills and hopefully find other free riders he can make a team with.
