1. The flight had been long an arduous for Lyn. The dragon wasn't a particularly strong flier because of the hole in his wing, but he had the stamina of a hundred oxen, as long as the flight didn't require loop-de-loops the young dragon could handle it. Still though, a non-stop flight from Talonopolis to Ponyville was out of the question, requiring the trip to be taken in steps. Finally after three days of flight he finally passed over the peaks of the mountains overlooking the town of Ponyville.

"A quaint little town wouldn't you agree Inanna?" He said to his pet falcon.

The bird of prey responded with an excited caw as she kept pace with her owner.

Lyn didn't need to look at the letter to know what he was looking for, he remembered perfectly. Town Hall, he was looking for a building that seemed important it was probably at the center of town. Circling the city a few times he and Inanna spotted a large structure smack dab where he guessed it would be and apparently there was already a pony there.

As they descended Lyn got a better look at the pony, rather the Zebra that was already there. He started to piece together the purpose of the trip, even though he could just ask the mare when he landed he preferred to try and make a game of it. He came in for a landing and touched down jogging as not to ruin any of the grass or well maintained roads in Ponyville. The equipment in his knapsack jingled from the force of the landed. He held his arm out, giving Inanna the all clear to land on him.

He patted himself off and adjusted his bag. Cautiously, he approached the zebra that stood in front of the town hall. He could tell that the ponies in this town weren't use to seeing a creature his size by the stares he was receiving. Why wouldn't they stare? He was a dragon in a pony village.

He could also imagine that he didn't look very nice what with jet black scales, the spear-like tail, and the scares. His height nearly matched that of a diamond dog, so he resorted to walking on all fours, perhaps he looked just a little larger than a griffon the denizens of the town would relax.

"Um...Excuse me, are you Ze-cor-ra," he asked the zebra. His reading wasn't quite the best, so he sounded it out as best as he could. "I'm here for the trip."

  2. Sorry, I didn't mean problem in that way. I don't think the loss of innocence in our society is necessarily a bad thing. It will eventually lead to everyone being more open about anything, which can be a very good thing. And, yes, violence in games like Soldier of Fortune is ridiculous enough to be considered satirical. Indeed a lot of games like God of War, or Dead Space pride themselves on being gorefests, heck look at Dead Space 2's infamous ad campaign. The irony is that violence appeals more to the younger generation our days than the folks who are actually on the age label. As I said before I don't agree with the mods, but it's their forum, and their rules. If they say no-violence outside of designated areas, then them's the breaks.

True that, which is why I will freely converse site rules, but not complain at the mods.

As for the other games you named those are pretty satirical as well. I've seen enough actual violence and know enough people who have seen actual real life violence to know that it doesn't look like that.

But this is really a conversation for somewhere else.

Oh and it's not no violence, it's just nothing worse than like Invader Zim (Which might still be pushing it).

In other news, can somepony please come save us from the Templars xD

I'd love to, but yeah. I can't do it in a G-rated manner.

Here and now it doesn't matter much, if video game violence isn't as bad as real violence. The site rules clearly say, that those things have no place here, and as long as any of us wants to be on this site, the rules have to be followed.

We all should have read and accepted the rules by the way...

Well were aren't arguing the point, just conversing. I read em and I understand them. I'm just not particularly fond of them, so I'm talking about it. It matters, oh boy does it matter. You don't understand the power of voice. Could I get something on this site changed...probably, but it's not worth the time and effort at all.

Like XBL, I dont like that you can be banned with no evidence against you presented and no chance to defend yourself. I say it all the time, gonna keep talking about it until it changes.

Like I said, as long as the mods are just doing their job and not trying to shut me up over opinions then everything is fine.

Yeah we ,mostly me, went too far. And I accept that which is why I toned down my posts.

  3. I think your problem there is letting a kid play Soldier of Fortune, that game was violent with a capital "V". A lot of kids are exposed to this sort of thing and aren't innocent at all, no, but there are still some out there that are. Mostly because they're kept that way by not being exposed to the Media in general, which embraces all this violence. While I don't support the mods need to keep this place g-rated, I can't imagine many kids at all come here and any looking at pony stuff online will inevitably lead them to the darker places, I do understand their motives.

Midnight's in charge... and you know I had to say something. Couldn't have been right and not let anyone know it.

Well I don't think I have a "problem". A problem implies that there is something wrong, what we have is a difference of opinion. Video game violence isn't violence(imo), it just isn't. It's so stylized, dramatic, and detached from reality that even children can tell the difference. At best it's a satirized violence. The real issue on forums is that words convey much more depth than picture and video.

Which I can respect you know. let too much slid and eventually things get out of hand. I respect the mods as long as they don't do bull power plays like tell me that I can't talk about disliking their policies.

  4. Sccaaaaammmmppppsss... Stahp rp'ing in the OoC...

I approve of Blueprint, and will have this up tomorrow AS SOON as I wake up, I promise!! ^^

I was going to tonight, but I just realized how tired I actually was!! I did, however, update the OP and put every player's character name and ships, so that way we can keep track of who is on what ship and such c:

I forgot to tell you that Immy is on my ship as well

  5. Honestly, I think it's all a bit to strict because children aren't stupid and they aren't sensitive, influenced, or easily traumatized by this stuff either. My sisters five year old told me last night and I quote.

"My dad is gonna be drunk when he comes back from the casino. When he drink up on a lot of alcohol he always gets drunk."

"That man got his head blowed off, so him dead. People shouldn't kill each other, but this GAME is fun." - I let her play soldier of fortune because I got tired of her talking.

I don't know where this misconception of children being dumb and mentally vulnerable came from. Back when everyone hunted and gathered children were exposed to gore all day, and young boys were taught to kill, but it's whatever. It's just inconvenient, but whatever.

    Was my rant necessary no...

See now I see why I have warning points.

  6. Well to be QUITE honest, I think the Templars are the good guys here.....

We just need to wait to be saved. The wardens can handle it as they will.

Grim is an apostate. He was raised fighting Templar's honestly he doesn't care if they were carrying out the instructions of Andraste and the Maker he'd still end them.

    GEEZ Eclipse you're so bloodthirsty....

P.S Couldn't we just move this to the 18+ section if we have to? It's really hard to keep this family friendly...

    Well Grim has his orders...

Same here. Dragon Age just isn't G rated. Even if I never said die and remove all gore from my posts this is still dragons age.

  7. Hehe...Dahlia would probably do it anyway, just to get a rise out of her 'wonderful' captain :) Celestia knows how lonely it can be on an airship without any stallions...she's gotta entertain herself somehow.

Who said only other players had to be the only other crew on our ship? I was actually gonna PM you and Kai about if you wanted to have the ship crewed up with OC's that we controlled.

  8. Character: Lyn

Reasons for Interest: Lyn is a historian, an adventurer and an excavator. He lives to learn about other cultures and seeks to increase knowledge pool. Travelling to Unyasi would be an excellent chance to learn some Zebra history, study the land, and get acquainted with some artifacts of Zebra origin.

What he brings to the table: Lyn has braved the harshest environments in the Badlands for most of his life making him an expert in survival. His knowledge of geography would be very helpful navigating the land if they get lost. As an explorer and extreme sports junkie, Lyn usually carries equipment like shock cord, collapsible ladders, and pitons. With Lyn around we'd be ready to traverse any terrain. He has a pet falcon that can perform recon rapidly. He's a treasure hunter so his knowledge of ancient structures, trap layouts and puzzle solving skills are good.

Also he's a lightning breathing dragon...take that as you will.

  9. Spike is a child and Rarity is an adult. Them getting together would be creepy

    Question is: by how much?

From what I can tell their maturation process is way different. Time-lining tells me that if Twilight (and other ponies[X the fact that foals are born more able than human babies] mature at a similar rate to humans) Might be about 4 or 5 years older than Spike. That's like a 15-16 year old lusting after someone who I can't really believe is outside of Twilight's generation (IE about 18-21). That's not creepy at all actually.

  10. - Transmission From The Glorious, Infamous Vessel, Drakkensteed -

"Greetings, all you psychotic Air Pirates! My name is Dahlia Snow...or, as some of you might know me as, 'The Flower Corsair', and First Mate aboard the airship Drakkensteed. I send this message out to all the dreamers and scally-wags who dare wish to stake their claim in the sky! Do you seek fortune, adventure...infamy? Do you want all the lads and lassies you could ask for danglin' around your very hooves? Then join our marvelous crew, as we sail the skies and plunder Equestria itself!

Our wonderful ship is led by, none other than, the great Captain Beatrix herself. That's right scum, you heard correctly! The very griffonness who pilfered Aquelia for five years, killed the Emperor of the Griffon Nations, and is the face of fear in that sky-sector for her brutal destruction of Breakbeak City! Her name will be remembered by them for centuries to come! Now, our Captain has come to Equestria to spread that very same infamy that she earned herself in Aquelia...and if any of you are smart, you will sign up with us, or stay out of the way!

Joining with us comes with wealth and power beyond your wildest fantasies, so what're you waiting for?! Bring your swash-buckling, fear-inspiring faces to us, and prove your worth! Of course, the first part of the test is finding us...can't disclose our location with the R.E.A. possibly listening in on us, right? So get off those lazy hooves, talons, or whatever you walk on...and search for the opportunity of a lifetime! This is First Mate Dahlia Snow, signing off."

    - Transmission Ended -

(I might as well do a dialogue campaign too :) )

This makes me want to freaking RP now. I might even start the rp with her reaction to that message.

  11. Beatrix's equipment and her prosthetic would be worthless on that ship.

I don't plan on attacking you good folks

    much

, but after the first time figuring out the ships immunity she'd likely just teleport our ship into your ship forcing a really terrible tele-merge then turn the power off to our engines and laugh as your ship tries to keep us airborne.

But that's not going to happen.
