  1. I'm guilty of that. But mind you, I do it more for fun, than actual debate.

Oh don't misunderstand me- I LOVE overthinking too! It just bugs me when people argue with each other about said overthinkings. If that makes sesne.

  2. Heh, Thanks Thoth. I know this is a bit off topic, but did you see the new Rainbow Dash Presents yet? Its not on YouTube yet due to YouTube being... dumb, but its available for anyone who follows the animator (petirep)'s deviantART or Tumblr.

  3. I could never join a military of any nation, do to my beliefs on war and my pacifist nature. That being said, I do have a family history of military service- for various nations. My great grandfather was drafted into the German Wehrmacht during World War II (my family did not immigrate to the USA until the 1960s), and died in Russia during the battle of Stalingrad. My grandfather joined the US military with a fake ID to escape Communist Albania, and my other grandfather served in the Swiss Army in the Telephone Pole Corps (in Switzerland all public works such as roads and telephone poles are constructed by the army). And my father was in the US Navy- until he was dishonorably discharched for, ah, "misconduct", as well as drug abuse.

I have been on several army bases while traveling abroad though, and have many friends in the armed services.

  4. Also, about my quotes: Yes, most of them ARE in fact from Doctor Who.

I'd love to put up at least 20 more quotes I live by but, unfortunately, they are from good old George Carlin, and as such contain more expletives than the average human can handle.

I suppose I can add one quote:

"People who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point."

  5. I have a few.

"Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty. It's not the time that matters, it's the person."

"The way I see it, life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant."

"The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering."

“It is the job that is never started that takes longest to finish."

"I'm old enough to know that a longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything you love turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you'll end up alone."

"Courage isn't just a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway."

"As we learn about each other, so we learn about ourselves"

"The universe is big, it's vast and complicated and... ridiculous, and sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles."

"The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it."

"As long as I breathe I hope. As long as I breathe I shall fight for the future, that radiant future, in which man, strong and beautiful, will become master of the drifting stream of his history and will direct it towards the boundless horizons of beauty, joy and happiness!"

"As long as I breathe I hope. As long as I breathe I shall fight for the future..."

    "Don't do stupid sh**"

And finally, the one that affects me deeply most:

"Those who smile most are those who have experienced the most pain."
