How is this Application coming along?

changed a lot of stuff to try and make it work, not sure if you read it o3o

actually, yeah not such a bad idea, at home, where not even the box office can stare at you like "you sure you're ok kid? This is my little pony, a girl's toy line"

problem is, i don't have cable, and internet.. too laggy

doesn't seem like anyone's commented on my idea, but seeing all the replies stating that it should stick to the show, i'm gonna have to go with the "like the show, but a movie of course" option

Still not closing this so mostly everypony can put their two cents into this

Well i saw this one image (the one that lists all the hasbro movies in existence so far, then shows the mane 6 getting ready for their own possible movie) and i thought about something...

how would it go? I mean, if you think about it all the people and parents wouldn't really approve of a movie theater filled with teens and grown men... especially if they haven't heard of bronies.

So i was thinking... maybe make a movie ABOUT a brony! Or something like that, i mean, its sort of "ok fine" with parents, and well, it'll explain us to the world and maybe even get everyone to understand that its because its a good show, from the early stages to the peak of bronyhood.

Thats how i would make it, not sure what you guys would want to do or how you would prefer it, but it sure will do something about all the confusion when parents see a teen or 21 year old man walking down the street with their daughter's favorite show on their shirt.

I added a poll to this too, I might send the results to hasbro and see what they do (IF the polls point towards a movie, i clearly won't send a poll saying no to a movie that they might not even be making)

As he looked around, he finally noticed Pigpen and tried to get his attention so he could see if he needed help as well.

"Hey, Pigpen, need any help with what you're helping them with? If you want we could take turns"

Yuki gave a confused stare as he noticed Pigpen observing TurnTimber, and eventually, Yuki got caught in her "magic" as well.

I think the biggest problem with this application can be summed up pretty easily in your response - it's not an Equestrian character, it's not a pony character. You are making up, wholecloth:

1: A 'tribal language' spoken only by exactly two ponies - her parents.

2: A spontaneous set of 'spiritual beliefs' followed by exactly two ponies - her parents.

3: A coincidental marking which is seen as odd by exactly two ponies - her parents.

4: A permenant affliction by poison joke - which violates the feel of the show.

5: A poison joke affliction which is cruel and not 'funny' - which violates the feel of the show.

Your need to have her parents abandon her carelessly, to have her speak a completely foreign language, to have a very - in your opinion - freaky appearance ... not because it applies in any way to what would make a good pony character, but because it is something that applied to your previous character which was *not* made to fit into Equestria.

To fit this character into Equestria Mane RP, you would need to make a lot of changes. If you are much against making so many changes, then I would recommend you put this character into Free-for-all or Crossover RP instead of Mane RP.

well actually i was offered some help, so i'll be working a lot more on this now that i gained it, this is gonna take a huge effort now that all the problems were pointed out

Ok, so i just made a MLP remake of Phillistine from No More Heroes 2 named - of course- Pinkie Pie.

I have the lyrics and everything ready, i just need someone to sing it for me so i can post it and see what happens from there.

(No More Heroes fun fact: Tara Strong voiced 2 characters in the sequel to no more heroes, Margaret Moonlight and Cloe Walsh and also sung Phillistine, the song i remade just now, and voices Juliet Starling in lollipop chainsaw, the new game that just came out!)

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! I used to be so interested in this one really long fan fiction on Regular Show, and I didn't want it to end, but it did. I know that feeling of not wanting it to end, I hate it. So, I have successfully stalled myself on the 13th episode of the 2nd season until season 3 comes out. Then I'll continue! Try doing that next time, it makes it so much better,

Ever since I became interested in the show, I kind of feel as if my life is rationed. Some for school, personal enjoyment, studies, etc. If it's not that, I just don't want the FiM show to end; I really don't know what would happen if it was cancelled or stopped, I mean I've seen the other MLP generation, but they're all so, different.

IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE ITS ENOUGH, ONLY 2 YEARS OF PONIES AND SEVENTY-SOMETHIN EPISODES IS GONNA BE IT? I dont want it to end im scared its gonna go back to the way it was before and then we'll all end up doing and "oh god why"

There's really a difference between "giving up" something, and losing interest in it after you've begun something else. I iddn't "give up" watching King of The Hill on Adult Swim at night. No, I lost interest in doing so when I had ponies to watch. (Though Season 2 is over ,and I haven't seen all of the koTH episodes..) I don't let things "intrude" my life, because when they're taken away, what will you have left? How long would it take for you to recover from your loss as compared to it being just a hobby? I'm not here assuming you all have no lives and no free time- no. I'm just saying that you shouldn't, (and hopefully don't) give up anything for a hobby, or "side-interest." Because that would be an extremely bad idea.

The ONLY way I can see it "taking over" your life, is if you were to be able to lvie comfortably off of it. Like if you were allowed to sell your wood art carvings for $1000's a piece. And eventually, that became your "main focus" or your "Job."

Which honestly, I can't see happening with a show like this. No matter how BIG the impact on your life it is / has been, it should NEVER directly change your entire lifestyle.

With that aside, I'd say the only thing I've given up is the comfort of knowing I have 'nothing ot hide." Because i need to hide my Pony folder on my PC, because my older brother, who is here often, is a typical older brother, and until I manage to convert him, I need ot keep it "safely stowed away." so to speak.

well i guess you're right... even tho i miss my old "master cartoonist" style and moved on to ponies, i noticed that my trick work a lot better on ponies than they do on humans

and about that older brother thing, say that everyones doing it nowadays, and he'll get into it eventually either from the start or slowly falling into it

How is this Application coming along?

not sure if its good the way it is or not... if you read what i posted above you'll see the main conflict of this application, howver as i stated recently, I'm worried that ill end up changing duskus too much that she won't feel like my character anymore

kinda like having 4kids take invader zim and making him an alien who wants to make friends, except it isn't annoying and is actually trying to help and its just 3 people, not a huge company

Reading the application, I feel similar to what Phil has already so well explained. For me though, the portion of the application that comes off a bit strange is her initial inability to speak despite being old enough to be filly when she is found. Her parents must have spoken to her in order to communicate their beliefs (which I assume they wanted her to have), as well as basic day to day communication. I cannot see any advantage to not allowing her to learn language on top of the already unusual physical characteristics that make her stand out. Most importantly, it doesn't bring anything to her story other than another attempt to make her more physically unique (which people all too often use as a substitute for character depth); instead it simply gives the feel of a frivolous inconvenience for the other characters in her story to overcome.

I wonder if you mean showing the bright and gentle side of things people perceive as cruel but are not necessarily truly cruel, as if they were malevolently cruel, I cannot see how they would have a good side to them; the former sounds far more plausible for a reason for her to paint what she paints.

actually yes, thats what i mean to say in terms of her artwork, i just thought about changing that just 2 hours ago

and about the communication thing, another one of my flaws, i forget the simplest things yet remember the most complex things. But i can still explain this: take a person that only speaks a tribal language, then drop them off as a young kid in the U.S. or some place that doesn't know their language

There you have it, Duskus when she was first discovered (basically saying that she could talk to her parents, but only in the language that they spoke, a tribal language and nothing but that, i think that's where the whole beliefs thing wraps up) But besides, she already knows the language that most ponies speak thanks to Shade and rarely uses her first known language now (unless of course she's mentoring herself)

the main reason i include everything, even conflicts that have already been solved is so that in RP threads, others can know "oh duskus is referring to this" or "duskus is talking about THAT" and not be all like "what does duskus mean when she says 'i remember when a language that i was familiar with and completely understood sounds like complete gibberish to others'? I thought she always spoke english"

and forgive me for being so stubborn on changing the application but i basically took my current O.C. characters and just fit their locations and appearance into the pony universe, considering that i wasn't a brony when i came up with them, thats why they have such deep character and don't seem easy to work with

im a complex type of person, but if it needs to be done, ill do it just to get it over with

"My name is Sleet Glaze, but people call me Yuki. What can i start with?"

Yuki was now ready to help, even though he still couldn't stay put without at least shifting his position a little

"And of course im enthusiastic Madam Bistro, i normally have a steady diet of... um... vegetables!"

At that moment Shade randomly appeared next to Yuki, handing him loads of candy wrappers

"We talked about eating sweets in my room last night Yuki, chill with the sweets dude"

Shade also noticed Madam Bistro and the others, giving a nod to them as his way of saying hello

"I see you're planning to do something here with these fine ponies Yuki. He isn't causing any trouble is he?"

Shade looked over at Yuki with a blank yet relaxed look
