    A pirate with a death wish? Sure! That'll be awesome, and I can finally add a "The Legend of _____ comes to an End..." in the accepted apps. ^^ that will be perfect! xD And you're not late, no one's late. It's pirates!!! Anyone can sail onto the horizon at anytime! We're doing this in a single thread. (links already provided on first page.) So far it hasn't been confusing, and you can sort of see where everyone is. (btw, I think it's hilarious that there is a shipping going on during the battle xD it's like, you read all this combat and then a romantic scene and then back to combat. It's so funny) I see why having multiple threads would work, but this just makes bumping into each others characters easier. And that's where the fun is x3 And just a heads up to everyone, I'm thinking about playing another character besides Black Mane, but he would need a ship to pick him up like Dusk's character. Any volunteers? And I can just say he's been on your ship the whole time if you're already in the water ^^

    Captain Black Mane watched the attacker fall with satisfaction. The rest of his enemies crew was either crippled and surrounded, or in the water calling for help. The sound of their agony stirred a new thrill in Black Mane, the one that always made him go a little crazy with his bombs. A spark flickered in his eyes. He watched as Wood Wing got up and cursed at him, while trying to hold together his now crumbling mask. The sight was creepy, watching a pony's face fall apart. Black Mane was unscathed though, his heart pumping from the blast before and the thrill filling his whole being. He watched as Wood Wing made his charge, and calmly held his ground. Instead of drawing his scimitar, he pulled out two more grenades, one in each hoof and laughed, "HAhaha!" his eyes growing wider and the spark in them continuing to shine. "Aye! You be makin' a mistake, sky-lubber!" He lit the fuses simultaneously and threw one, then the other in the path of Wood Wing's charge. He didn't care that he was on his own ship. It was tough enough to take a few of his own bombs. And Black Mane wanted nothing more than a good blast or two right now. "You be messing with Captin' Black Mane! The Black Bombardier!" He wanted something more as well, so he didn't throw any ordinary explosive grenades. No, these were special. The two bombs fizzed as they flew in the air, filled with deadly shrapnel, and the intent to kill.

    Black Mane flinched as a bullet whizzed into the deck of his ship some feet away. "Arr! You know nothing of me mother!" Black Mane retorted to a rather stinging insult. His crew began firing pistols shots, unloading rifles, and blasting blunderbusses at the encircling pegasi. Black Mane saw that they were keeping them from making any steady shots, but were only grazing the drafts of the feathered fiends. He saw some of the pegasi from his own crew were gearing themselves to fly up and fight them. "No you Scallywags! I'll handle this..." He reached into his coat and pulled out a rather dark looking bomb. "Yar...har.. harrrr..." He lit the short fuse and tossed it up into the air, directly above them, and somewhat close to the one with the mask that was blitzing for his main sail. "Get down!" at his words the bomb exploded, igniting the special gunpowder inside for a blast that made a thunder like boom. The bomb created a massive shock wave that, for just a second, split the soundbarrier and created a huge concussive blast, stunning anyone that wasn't prepared for it and sending some immediately into unconsciousness. Black Mane handled explosives regularly, and even from the distance that the bomb was, he still felt a forceful push on him towards the deck; his ears immediately started ringing. "Har-HAR! See how ye deal with that ya foals!!" Taunting them made him feel more triumphant. The winged ponies wouldn't be killed off, but their flying days were over, at least for now. This battle was tacking place on HIS ship! It would be fought HIS way! ...loud, and with cheap tricks... The only thing Black Mane worried about was that the blast was so loud, that it might attract attention.

    Soul Flare, a magically inclined pirate who conjures up his own weapons? I approve. But is he the captain of his ship? just curious. QueenChrysalis, (I see what you did there) the ship is fine (it looks cool ) and then the thing with ghost pirates is they can be almost anything. The thing I had in mind is that their spirits are tangible, and can be slashed by a sword and injured like any other pony (but having all the powers of being undead). OR you could give them a special lore or back story with a hidden weakness. Like a necklace they wear, and without it they fade to nothing, or a sword that gives them their presence in this world. Something like that. Or maybe they're bound to their ship and can't go anywhere unless the ship is close by, meaning sinking it would end their rein. There's so much possibility with ghost pirates, it's really up to you and your creativity. As long as they aren't invincible I will consider almost anything. Present the app and I'll approve it if I see that it works. If not, then I'll point out what I find unnecessary and then we can fix it

    As Captain Black Mane stared out into the sea, he was hastily called to by his crew mate up in the crow's nest. "A group of pegasi... attacking!? YARHAR HAR!!! You've got to be pulling meh anchor! There ain't a cloud ship in the sky you dumb scallywag!" he heard the faint fluttering of wings behind him and things grew quiet on deck. He turned around slowly to see 5 pegasi hovering just in front of his ship. The one in the middle looking particularly off with a wooden mask and.. what was that? metallic wings? His crew had already begun drawing heir weapons, some went below deck to rouse the others. "aarrrr... it seems you be right then..." Before his ship reached the hovering attackers he called out "Ahoy there! You sky-lubbers lost?" His tone changed as he mocked "..Or are ye looking for a fight?" At Black Mane's words, his crew members returned bringing all who were under deck out into the open, salty air. Black Mane bent his head so his teeth were on the hilt of his scimitar as he awaited a response. Five pegasi couldn't take his crew, but more of them could come out of nowhere in the middle of a fight. So it was best to look as intimidating as possible; scare off any attempts at plundering his ship. Hopefully he could get to colt's cove, without a fight, and sell his raid. The harbor should be visible on the horizon soon, maybe ten, twenty minutes? But if these ponies wanted a fight, right here and right now, then they sure found one...

    It seems people are taking heed to the suggestions from the original idea thread and my new wish list ^^ It is awesome that Royal Range is in the navy, and rping as his captain is perfectly acceptable. I actually hope Blackmane sails into him in the future! >:3 legal pirates always did annoy the navy back then... QueenChrysalis, thank you for taking up the ghost pirates! ^^ I eagerly await your application!

    I personally think being separated would be a good way to start this off. Finding each other wouldn't be hard to roleplay and then we could have a lot of character interaction there. And wasn't this inspired by Lord of the Flies anyway? It just seems fitting to me. Plus, I don't want to copy lost! :U But it seems my opinion has already been outvoted so it doesn't matter now

    Don't feel bad, the length is more than adequate and the character is neat ^^ I particularly like his mask and bladed wings.

    The app is very well done. I like the idea of a classy, rapier wielding, pirate who uses psychological warfare along with her cannons. Can't wait to see how she fights it says alcohol CAN be substituted. You don't have to, I just though it would be fitting since... well... I don't know actually. XD Use it if you want i guess. oh, and does anyone else have fun reading all of this with the music? x3 I think I'm enjoying it a bit too much to be honest

    The rifle is fine. Just remember how limited they are in this era. ^^ the history is well done too. Also, all of your statuses are either missing, or unbolded. I think it's really cool to read that part so if you could, just add that in there. It's not something that stops me from accepting an app, it just adds a nice little touch to it

    I've been ninja'd at my own rp 0.o anyway... here's my character's app ^^ Status: "The Legend Continues" Ponies know the name. Being one of the last legal pirates tends to get you some attention. Rumors about his combat style also tend to get around, but he makes sure they're just rumors. >:3 Name: Captain Black Mane! (somepony had to do it ) Sex: Male Age: Stallion. Old enough to laugh a hearty laugh Species: Earth pony Eye Color: Sky blue Coat Color: Dark grey Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: His mane is jet black, scruffy, braided at the tips, and thick with salt. His tail is no better. (General appearance): he’s got a five o’clock shadow and a toughened look in his eye, yet, there’s also a spark of excitement and thrill in what he does. His braids have rings in them, making a jingle sound when he turns his head. He wears a bandana that’s a lighter black than his mane. He also wears a brown coat. (Ship description): Built for ramming and survivability, picture a solid looking vessel with a large bow that has a metal point. (Weapons/Fighting style): "Likes to toss things with a fuse and watch what happens." Black Mane uses makeshift bombs, and lots of them. The inside of his coat is lined to the brim with a variety of grenades and explosives, but is somehow kept well hidden. This lets Black Mane pull out a surprise or two in battle. He also has a scimitar tied to his coat, near his mouth, for easy reach. (Lifelong dream as a pirate/whatever they are): Being one of the last legal pirates, he’s just out there, enjoying his job. (Personality): Refers to his crew as scallywags a lot. Treats them like family and they respect him. If anything it's because they know of his explosives.

    “Yarhar, that’s it scallywags! We be set sail for Colt’s cove and soon we can sell this raid! First round of Cider be on you! Bwahaha” Captain Black Mane called to his crew, celebrating and raising spirits all around the ship. He had just completed a successful raid on a trading vessel and cargo consisting of apples from exotic lands now filled the hull of his own ship. After hearing the celebratory cheer that arose from main deck, he turned back and entered his cabin. He turned to a plaque on the wall with an admiring glance. It was his certificate that made him a legal pirate, signed by the Royal Princess herself. Without that, he would sail into some deep waters with the navy and be forced to turn to the black market of the seas. Not that this was impossible to do without getting caught, but being a legal Pirate made everything so much easier. Not to mention free rite of passage in any waters under the Empire’s control. This was one of the few remaining certificates of its kind and having it was something of a treasure in itself. After kissing it awkwardly he turned back out to the main deck and stared at the ocean with a challenging look on his face, as if he was daring the seas to try and stop his streak of luck!

Well this is the place to rest your hooves after a long roleplaying post. Feel free to discuss anything out of character here! I encourage you to click this and listen while you read and roleplay. or this. This is where the rules of the RP and character descriptions will be kept, along with any questions I have not covered. If you have a question that you want to keep secret, then I ask you to PM me about it. (I don’t bite :3) List of General rules (These are subject to change in the future.) My wish list of things I’ve always wanted to have in a pirate rp ^^ There, I think that’s everything…. OH! Wait! Character apps! Fill one out for each character you play as; add as much as you want, but at LEAST give a basic visual description. And finally, a list of the Approved Characters. If you see your pony's application here, feel free to start rping.

    For the record I love how we have a derpy hooves and rainbowdash already x3 I'll be using Skyglare for this one Name: Skyglare Gender: Male Race: Wings... meaning Pegasus (This is not being overused at all, I swear */sarcasm*) Brief History: Works as an event coordinator/planner for the weather patrol. A special title that brought Skyglare a solid sense of pride. Looks: Eye color: ████████████ Hazel with a golden hue. Coat Color: ████████████ Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style:████████████ Being a pegasis, his mane is wind blown and teased but not un-kept. It's length goes down the back of his neck. His tail has the same style and has a decent length to it as well. The color is a solid cherrywood red Cutie Mark: A sun glare (Like how a camera passes over the sun it will give off a glare, something like this) and if you REALLY want a story, check out his app! :U Personality: Skyglare is upbeat, easy going, and extroverted. He enjoys the company of others and thrives in the spotlight. He has a good sense of humor but can take jokes aimed at him personally. He can be seen as optimistic but he only feels this way if he has the encouragement and praise from others. Likes and dislikes: likes to glide around in his spare time and make cloud art at sunrise/sunset (read teh app :U) also just laying in a cloud is fun for Skyglare. Dislikes rude ponies and insults, even if they're in the form of a joke. Character flaws: Takes insults to heart, has some touchy deep feelings. (great for some insanity latter >:3) Could your character possibly ever be a leader? Would s/he have any desire to?: being the event coordinator of the weather patrol... yes... Random fact: This is the character that I have most fun shipping with ;3 not that I plan on doing that or anything. Anything I left out..? ^^ : FAVORITE COLOR IS ORANGE!!!! ..that was completely necessary... oh, and age is borderline between older colt to younger stallion There. I feel like I have a decent application. ^^
