  1. a 10 year old PC with windows?

No wonder why it crashes, I bet you didnt clean it out with a can of air or anything over the years so that the parts remain free of harmful particles.

Its possible to get such a computer running clean again though, you may want to try a linux in it as XP is done for next year.

Nah it's a pain to clean, it's in like a little pigeon hole and has a ton of cables running through it.

It's the family computer anyway, i'm moving to university next month so it's not really my problem anymore XD

  2. I just know some mac users thanks to being a linux user, they complain about the hardware limitations of apple products a lot.

As for your PC crashes, what kind of PC are you running?

    Specs?

    Operating system?

I may be able to assist though it will be a bit off topic

Yeah they have their flaws but it's perfect for me personally.

My PC is like 10 years old now and it's running XP so it's not very good now. My brother went through 2 new laptops with windows XP and all of them died after 6-9 months :P

  3. In the future you may want to invest in a better mouse though, the trackballs on those things are horrible after extended use.

Not everything with an Apple logo on it is good

SO far i've had no problems with it but i'll see how it fairs after prolonged use, whilst I love my mac book pro as it is unbelievably fast and doesn't crash every 5 mins like my PC, I really dislike the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, they are utterly useless. some apple products I really dislike :P

  4. I've never owned one however my grandfathers other half uses one as she has arthritis, when I used their computer I found it unusual at first but very comfortable on the hand. I'm using the newest apple magic mouse at the moment as it came with a discount with my mac and I find it to be the most functional and comfortable mouse i've used.

  5. Or better yet does anybody know of any? Brony music is great and all but if you don't like electro, house, dubstep etc. then you're screwed. I don't mind this kinda music and the creators are usually very talented don't get me wrong but I want some pony music that I can bang my head to, it's in my nature.

Anyone else ever felt the same? Why don't you think more people do it?

  6. lol good. the less cables the better. i've used audacity before. I just didnt have a good mic when i tried it. so when i get the yeti i'll be set.

Yeah you should be ^.^ also make sure you take the acoustics in the room into consideration, if the room is too big then you will have too much unwanted reverb, any windows, mirrors or reflective surfaces should be kept to a minimum. It may also be worth hanging a few blankets around. It is a cheap alternative to soundproofing :)

  7. well, im planning on getting a yeti condenser mic, i just need a program to master it all with. or attempt to, lol.

Ohh that looks like a perfect Mic to start off with! My concern was that Condenser mics require 48v phantom power to make them work, however by the looks of it you computer will do that via USB saving you a lot of money buying a mixer or audio interface to power it with conventional XLR cables.

As for software there aren't that many cheap options, Audacity is perfect for beginners and is completely free! Alternatively you can try the FL studio demo, it has the full capabilities of the normal version, the only drawback however is that you can't reopen saved work after you exit, meaning you have to do the mixing and mastering in one session which is a bit of a pain.

  8. If you check out DV247.com they have various bundles such as an M-Audio device interfaces which come with software such as pro tools as well as condenser microphone bundles which come with a pop filter and a little sound proofing, it will be a little more expensive that just a microphone and audacity.

it may be worth investing in this kind of equipment after you have made a few recordings and got the hang of it ^.^

  9. It's alright, I don't like the high resonance on that pad though and the drums sound a little "stock" if you know what I mean. I like your bass, but I can't remember anything else that I wanted to comment on (short term memory and im on a phone)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into adjusting the pads.

I think I know what you mean, Do you know of any good free drum samples.. I'm a bit low on money at the moment :P

  10. Don't use Youtube at all to show off some music.

Canterlot.com fully supports SoundCloud.com so audio can be streamed at better quality rates in most cases and you can allow people to download (or not allow) at your leisure.

I think this is a good idea.. With a community such as this any criticisms will be very constructive and thus very useful to you. You will be given plenty of support until you feel you are ready to release your covers to a wider audience..

  11. Tell crescent, i leave for america today. Ill look it up when i get home. I love working on group projects though :).

Also, proof, ill send you some of my midi works, most of my best ones were on my old computer, which fried, but i got some left. I have a thread in the music section in which i have one posted. Check it out at your leisure :)

Awesome! i'll make a start on some when i've finished my current project!
