  1. Free will probably be a little deterred and shocked by the Red Fox's reveal, but i'm still looking forward to that badarse huge clash of the titans faction war scene.
  2. Free was surprised when Cadence fell against him crying, but supported her. "Cadence.........." Free was lost for words as he looked down at the crying alicorn. The stallion now had to make a hard decision. He had never wanted to drag the fragile princess into the war, but it was the only way from the very beginning. "On the day your aunt and mother were killed, I vowed something. I vowed to never let an injustice like that happen ever again while I breathed, and to make sure that they were avenged. Since that day five years ago, I have been fighting for that cause. I vowed to stop the Red Fox, and to make it feel the pain I did. I vowed to find a way to restore equestria. Earlier today, I found it. I found you." Free smiled warmly at Cadence. "Now, I promise you that I will lay down my guns, and try to take up a peaceful banner against the Red Fox. If it denies, then i'm afraid we are going to war." Free sighed, he knew the negotiations would fail. He had tried too many times to count to try and strike a peace treaty between the two warring factions. But now, maybe, just maybe, it would work.
  3. Free understands the 'plot' veeeeeeeery well. -puts on glasses- DAT PLOT.
  4. Free was silent as Gladius told of how the princesses had indeed taken Equestria by conquest. He had known snippets of the truth before, thanks to the guilt on Luna's conscience, and he had guessed the outcome. But the truth had shocked even him a little bit, so he understood Cadence's rage. Free sighed, and began to walk over to the enraged princess slowly, not caring if he was hit. He stopped in front of her, and put his hoof on her shoulder. "Cadence, we need to keep it together. The past is the past, we need to focus on the future right now. I promise you, when all this is over we can go correct the wrongs of your aunt and mother, but right now we need to keep going. I doubt Chrysalis' plan will work for very long, and doubt even more that the Red Fox will let you live while she rules." He looked into her eyes with a cold stare, trying to calm her down.
  5. May I offer my tastes to the audience? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F8kTzFfZAE
  6. Free had gotten up and followed Gladius and Cadence soon enough, but the silence was making him feel ill. He knew the difficulty of the decision Gladius had to make, hell, he would have made the same choice if he was in that position. He had caught up with them by the time they had reached the crossroads. "Gods......... Just how old is this complex?" He meant to think to himself, but said out loud instead. He remembered something about the unknown symbol next to the insignia of the old principality, but he just couldn't figure what it was for. "Gladius, which way is the highlands from here? My troops are stationed there, and we can get a trasport to neighagra once we get there." He said blandly, knowing he didn't really have that much say in where they were going, especially after his incident back in the hallway.
  7. Free's eyes widened as Gladius told his tale. Tears started to form in the back of his eyes, and he looked at Gladius for a second, before pushing him against the wall, and holding his knife to the old stallion's throat. "You...... You old b*****!" Free yelled fiercely, tears flowing freely now. How could he have done it? Free's oldest friend, murdered the one he loved. Suddenly, the enraged stallion realised what he was doing. He looked at Cadence, a look of shock on her face. "I'm...... I'm sorry........" Free said as he released Gladius, looking down at the floor in shame. "I'm sorry, I know it must have been hard for you. You did...... You did the right thing." Free said as he sighed, and fell against the wall, sliding down it and holding his hoof to his head. The tears had stopped by now, but he was still looking down in shame of his overreaction.
  8. Free looked over at Cadence sympathetically. This was against everything she had been brought up to believe in, so it must be hard for her. "Cadence, trust me, we tried to settle this peacefully long ago. But the Red Fox has done terrible, terrible things to Equestria." Free gulped and a shiver ran down his spine as he remembered those insidious deeds. Entire villages razed in seconds, foals lying lifeless on the cold ground. "The only way to win this and bring back the monarchy is to take the fight to the Red Fox. Think of what your mother and aunt would want." Free's voice nearly cracked as he said this, painfully happy memories of his time with Princess Luna flooding back to the present. "Now come on, we need to get going. It'll be daylight soon, and I doubt any of the guards would let us pass. Gladius, do you know the quickest way to get us out of the city and over to the highlands?" Free asked his old friend, a stern look on his face now.
  9. Free nodded his approval, before adding "Sure thing Chrysalis. But we should really get going soon, I have a bad feeling." Meanwhile, a small dropship decended towards a detainment center. On board was another of the agents of Freelancer, named Washington. "How do I always get stuck on these missions......." The armoured stallion mused, slipping on his helmet. "Maybe because your always nearly getting yourself killed on missions." The pilot of 469-er chuckled, before adding, "We've reached the drop point. Good luck Wash." Washington stepped out onto the ground slowly, taking in his surroundings. "Since when do I ever have any luck?" He said to himself, starting the 20-mile foot slog towards the center where a fellow Freelancer agent was being held. He moved quickly, nothing but a black and yellow blur in the night air. Soon enough, he reached the boundaries of the compound, slinging his rifle and taking out a set of binoculars. There were 4 guards stationed on the roof, another 6 on the ground floor. "Well, better get to work." Washington said as he took aim at the nearest guard, firing a quick 3 round burst into the back of the pony's skull. He made sure he shot the guard without his silencer, hoping it would draw attention to the corpse. It worked, as half the guards came to examine their dead comrade. Wash bolted towards the main gate, slipping inside quietly. He grinned, maybe he would be able to pull off a mission without getting shot at after all. "Freeze!" Wash groaned as he turned around slowly, seeing a guard pointing his weapon at him. "Do we really have to do this?" Wash asked, tilting his head slightly. The guard was unmoved. "Guess so." Wash said as he stamped his hoof on the ground, activating his armour's built in E.M.P. The guards weapon fell useless to the ground, and Wash charged him, easily winning him over in close combat. The stallion continued through the base, now blacked out and devoid of any electricity what so ever. Eventually he reached the cell block, where he began searching through the prisoners. Soon enough, a familiar face came into view. "How did I guess it was you?" Wash said with a sigh as walked up to C.T. The chocalate brown mare groaned, clearly even less thrilled to see him than he her. "What did you do wrong this time?" She said, tilting her head. "Oh nothing that bad, got shot at a couple of times. Any idea where your armour is?" Washington asked. "Second floor, left wing." C.T replied. Wash tossed her a pistol before signalling they should get going. The two met little to no resistance as they ran through the base, reaching the room that held her armour. Wash kicked down the door, only to be met with a hail of bullets. He ducked behind the doorframe, before reloading his rifle. "How'd they guess we would come for the armour?" He yelled above the gunfire. "Dunno. You have shields right?" C.T asked. "Yeah... why do you ask?" Wash replied. "I have a plan." C.T yelled, pushing Wash out into the gunfire, crouching behind him as she took out each of the guards in the room one by one. "This has to be the worst plan ever! Of all time!" Wash yelled as he did his best to take shots at the guards. Surprisingly, C.T's plan worked, and the room was cleared quickly. "Best suit up, I doubt they will be letting us leave very easily." Wash told C.T. After the mare had armoured up, the two ran outside, only to be greeted by the remainder of the guards. "Thought you could beat the GEF huh?" The commander asked them as he stepped out of line. "Drop your weapons!" He yelled, but it was getting hard to hear because of a low humming noise, which was getting closer by the second. "Hey is it just me or is he getting quieter...." Wash asked C.T, who shrugged, before turning around slowly. "MOVE!" She yelled, throwing Wash and her behind the nearest peice of cover. A huge explosion rocked most of the base, destroying it nearly completely. "Sorry about that guys!" 469-er said through the radio, chuckling. "Sending extraction point now." Washington and C.T pushed debree off of them, looking around slowly. The base was in ruins, the GEF would barely be able to find anything at all. Washington whistled loudly, before adding, "That's one way to make sure they can't trace us." The two jogged towards the extraction point, where 469-er was waiting for them patiently. Soon enough they were away, and heading back to Freelancer H.Q.
  10. Free removed his knife from the changelings throat, but still held kept it near. He didn't trust the queen one bit. "Nice to see you too old man." Free grinned at Gladius. "As for Cadence, I would like to speak to her first before you ship her off to your hive. She's probably going to need a bit of persuading." Free walked over to the princess, looking at Cadence, before bowing his head slightly. "Princess Cadence, I know this sounds crazy, but I used to serve with your husband. I know this must be hard for you, but you need to come with me and Chrysalis. We're taking you somewhere safe, where the GEF can't get to you." He said sympathetically, hoping the princess would come willingly.
  11. Free's eyes widened as he heard Chrysalis talking. He moved up to behind her while she was preocupied with the other pony, and then held his knife to her throat. "I am here. Now let him go." The stallion growled into Chrysalis' ear, pressing the tip of his knife up to the Changelings throat. It was enough to annoy Free that she had made plans without his consent, more to storm in like this. "Wouldn't want to get Changeling blood all over this lovely carpet now would we?" He said sarcastically, but not with a hint of humour in his voice at all.
  12. Hrmm..... I may have to hop in as a certain yorkish agent, if that's ok with you Nova.
  13. Free growled impatiently as he waited for the changeling queen to appear. "Come on........" He grumbled as he paced about "Where the hell is she......." The stallion walked out in front of the house the princess was supposed to be at. He trotted over to the house slowly, taking a peek inside. It was well furnished, had a nice look to it as well. Probably some undeserving GEF pony then. Free was starting to calm himself down when he spotted to specs up in the sky. One had a rainbow coloured mane, the other was a....... "Oh buck." Free whispered as he realised it was Chrysalis talking with Rainbow Dash. The whole thing had probably just been a set up to get him behind bars again. Besides, even if Princess Cadence was inside, she probably wouldn't recognize him. "Screw the changelings." Free growled, beginning to look for somewhere he could get into the house. A small open window presented itself to him. The stallion climbed up and slipped through the opening quietly, his years of black ops training kicking in. He walked over to the top of the stairway near silently, hearing voices from downstairs. One sounded like an old Stallion, the other.......... Sweet Celestia it was Cadence. She was alive. Free crept downstairs quietly, pulling out his knife incase the other pony was armed. He poked his knife round the door of what sounded like the kitchen, watching the reflection off of it. Cadence was unharmed, but he doubted her mental state was in perfect condition after being without her husband for five years. Slowing his breathing down, he prepared to step into the kitchen. Free rounded the corner slowly, looking Cadence in the eye, even though his face was masked by the hood. "Princess Cadence?" he asked, trying to hide his voice in case the other pony was with the GEF and made a break for it. He pulled his hood down slowly, hoping she would remember him.
  14. Free moved through the streets quietly, making his way towards his second waypoint. As he reached it, he realised that he hadn't told his troops the arrangements that he had made with Freelancer and the changelings...... A lone guard came trotting through the deserted street. "Perfect." Free said under his breath, getting up and following the guard. Before the guard had time to react, or even noticed he was there, the stallion landed a swift blow to the back of the guards head, knocking him out. Free picked up the guards radio, and quickly changed it to his private frequency. "All units, this is Free Quickhoof. I have staged my coup, and are now on my way to a secondary objective. I have recently made arrangements that have lead to finding out that one of royal blood is still alive. I am at this moment moving in to find and extract the princess, with the help of........... a 'friend.' After I have completed my mission, all units move to congregate in the equinian highlands. We shall rendevouz there and regroup. Free over and out." Looking around, the stallion slipped the radio into his coat, before he set off again. Soon enough he arrived near to where he had been told the princess was being held. Now just to wait for Chrysalis.
  15. Free stood up and walked over to his cell 's bars. Now was the time. Word was that there was a meeting of the GEF officials tonight, and that would serve as a perfect shroud for him to make his escape. He had already packed his things, and was now waiting for the signal. A low, sharp whistle toned down the hallway. The doors were unlocked. Free casually opened his cell's doors and walked out, taking a quick look around. The nearest guard was smoking and reading something, so he didn't really notice the stallion walk out from his room. Free crouched and sneaked his way over towards the toilet, where his soldiers were waiting for him. He quickly donned a full prison officers uniform, while another stallion made himself look nearly exactly like Free. It was like looking into a mirror. "All set?" Free asked, recieving sharp salutes from all his soldiers. The plan was to fake a transfer of the fake Free, while the real him made a break for it. Free grinned as he stepped out of the toilet. The group made their way through most of the prison complex, barely receiving but a glance from anypony else. It was just a routine cell transfer, after all. As they reached the main gates, Free split off from the group. He flashed his fake I.D quickly, before the guards let him pass. He took a quick glance back at his soldiers, each of them in turn nodding and smiling at thair leader. They had given up a life outside for their cause. Free was determined to make it worth it. He passed a few corners, before stopping to get changed again. He donned a hooded robe, slipping his knife into a small pocket on the inside. "Now to find her........." The stallion said to himself, trying to remember the info he had gained recently on his new 'allies.' He growled in frustration as he thought of who he would have to meet in order to complete his mission though. Without another word, Free took off towards the meeting place the changeling and him had set.
